I love the drinks at ArtBar! They have nice little snacks as well. It's a cool place to stop by for happy hour and if you're staying in the hotel, it's definitely convenient. I had the pleasure of coming here for an event when they first opened and it was pretty cool. The menu has changed since then and I'm glad so I might stop by to eat soon. I go for drinks often because I live close by and it's a good place to meet people if you don't want them knowing where you live Lol the staff is nice and It's good to see they are making changes. read more

We just stayed at the suite here and breakfast was included during our staycation. Nothing really special about it, but it was free and buffet style with scrabbled eggs, bacon, grits, yogurt, fruit, granola grains, pancakes, and cereal. The bacon wasn't very crispy when we ate there on Saturday morning, but today it was perfect. Over the weekend, breakfast option doesn't change much and all you have to do is tell them your room number. When I was walking out, noticed a server was being in a cart filled with warm food, so it's not cooked somewhere else. read more

The atmosphere is laid back and chill. I was a little disappointed that there was no longer a live band on Wednesday nights. My server was as sweet as ever. She even made a suggestion. I had the mixed berry mojito. It was rather bland and seemed watered down. It looked the part but lacked flavor. I decided to try the fried manchego cheese. This was a fascinating combination. This is a current update to my last ArtBar review. Post Covid, things are still great, still 5 stars for the bar. Just inside the Sonesta Duluth immediately to the left of the main entrance. Social distancing enforced but they have no problem hosting our little group monthly! Very pleased with how we are treated and we are served with the utmost speed and professionalism thanks to Barbara and Keisha! When most places didn't seem to want the business ArtBar is very welcoming thus far. The food is still great although I wish they would bring back the crab dip. And they took a special effort to make me an iced coffee with Bailey's! For nice quiet dinner and/or drinks, check them out! read more

The Sonesta is a mid-mid-tier business hotel for those that work, eat, sleep. No rest for the wicked, as they say. Art Bar is the uncommonly good resident mid-tier business restaurant/bar and true to its name pieces of art adorn the walls (which you can take with you for the listed price). I highly recommend for the food, the service and the buffer it provides to the world outside. WHAT DID YOU HAVE: - Art Bar Swiss Burger - Lettuce/Red Onion Medium, tasted really good, healthy portion of beef, ordered dry - Fries - perfect.. salted evenly, long cut, crispy - Buffalo Wings - star of the show, spicy and sweet, the sauce has bbq, molasses, sprinkled with crumbled blue cheese - Heineken - Van Winkle Bourbon (didn't have, just shocked to see it, small batch has a wait-list) SERVICE: Excellent, dined at the bar. Eric and Barbara took care of our party all night long. AMBIANCE: I'm sure most of the time its a grab bag, like any hotel, but on this occasion there were a number of people in different groups elevating the energy in the room. NBA games added to it. SUMMARY: Surprisingly good food and service, ambiance is going to be an undetermined variable, but add the unexpected Rip Van Winkle and it might be worth a local's trip. It's creative, I'll give them that. I had a burger served on hashbrowns and no bun, also had the gumbo and cobb salad. All good selections. They were also able to accommodate a group of 12. For a hotel bar/ restaurant I would say stop on by and try it before venturing out to rest of the local restaurants. You might be surprised by the food. The staff was also very friendly. read more

Food was surprisingly good! I'm usually not a fan of hotel restaurants, so I was pleasantly satisfied. My husband and I was trying to find a new restaurant that was vegetarian friendly and after seeing "portobello fries" in their appetizer section, I didn't even bother skimming the rest of the menu. We were on our way. they have many Veggie friendly options and all were great. Including the sandwich and fries that finished in 2 bites! Lol We were hungry. I went last nite and ordered a Cobb Salad...so good...super fresh greens sweet tomatoes the bacon was very flavorful. the blue cheese crumbles added a nice touch..I was truly satisfied with my salad. My daughter says" how can you mess up a salad? it's just leaves.Believe me you can wind up with a bummer I most certainly have on a few occasions. Who ever thought that finding a "quiet" bar to hang out at is such a difficult thing in Duluth. After a long day, my cousin and I were looking for a place to chill and chat for a bit, and thank goodness this popped up on yelp. It's nested inside the Sonesta hotel, so right when you walk in the lobby, the bar is to your left. The ambiance is great, comfortable chairs all throughout and some lounge areas as well. There is even a pool table for those that want to play pool. Our waitress Kristin was sweet, checked up on us quite a few times to ensure we were good. I had a glass of wine and my cousin had a cocktail (avg ~$10 a piece) so not bad for this little classy place. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Duluth and in need of a nice bar to chill at. read more

The Artbar is inside the Sonata hotel on Pleasant Hill. I never knew it was there. I got an appetizer of deviled eggs that were bland nothing special but for $6 I was disappointed. I had a couple of glasses of Cabernet Sauvignon that were good. It was pretty quiet but the bartender was attentive without being pushy. read more

Nice restaurant in the sonesta hotel. I ordered twice from the reataurant getting pizza along with a peanut butter pie. The pizza was good. Lots of cheese but not much meat. Would Prefer a bit more meat. The peanut butter pie was great. Different than most that I have had. It had a bit more of a peanut butter cookie texture on outside with brownie like texture on inside and peanuts on top. It was 5 star. read more

Art Bar was pretty bad. Its located inside of the Sonesta hotel, so I didn't have high expectations, as I never do for hotel restaurants. My family and I were the only ones dining in on this particular night. Initially no one even noticed that we walked in. Once our server noticed us she came over and did a good job of taking care of us. She was sweet, and attentive and if I were reviewing her, she'd definitely get 4 stars. The food however, was not as impressive. The wings were decent. I loved that they were served with crumbled bleu cheese and they were pretty hearty and dare I say unique. The seafood gumbo was THE WORST! Not only did it taste old, but it was bland and had an overwhelming flour taste. The tempura sushi roll was a disgrace. It was GIGANTIC, and definitely not in true sushi form. It was hardly rolled, more like folded and tucked. The "tempura" breading was doughy and the inside temp was too cool. After being disappointed with the apps here, we collectively decided to skip the entrees. read more

A bit on the pricey side but for the quality of the food I didn't mind a bit. I had the "wake me up burger" it was beef, bacon, fried egg, cheese served on a hash brown ! We were staying at the Sonesta this New Year's Eve and after a long day with kids we arrived back at the hotel around 11:30 and decided to toast the new year in their Art Bar. We started with a Georgia Mule- twist on the Moscow Mule with a peach flavour. It was excellent!! The champagne they poured at midnight was super gross. It tasted like beer. Lol. We also ordered a blue crab dip appatizer. It came with slightly ed warm bread that was really good. The dip would have been good (I think) but it was 80% panko. The staff was amazingly warm and nice. And the rest of the menu looked great. read more

I must say that I was wowed by this bar and restaurant.connected to the Sonesta. It is rare to find a quiet bar offering a unique menu with a neighborhood feel. The hotel is ok but I would stay here again to enjoy this great little spot. If I lived here, I'd frequent this place. Eric and Barbara are outstanding bartenders and take great care of the patrons. I ate here both nights I was in town and their service was exceptional. All of the patrons, whether at a table or the bar, seemed to be enjoying their food and the ambience. I'll be back!
