Veggie plate with a side of curly hair

If I could rate this place negatively, I would. I can'tspeak on the taste of the food. I'm at a conference in a hotel near the location in Duluth so we walked over and purchased some food. We got back to our hotel and found hair in the macaroni and cheese. We called over there and, after sending pictures of the hair and the receipt, we were told they were taking off just the one meal that the hair was found in. Never mind, the fact that nothing else has been touched and the only thing I would like to pay for is the thing that came pre-sealed, which was the sweet tea. Why would I take a risk eating any of this other food? How do I know that the hair is limited to the macaroni? After pointing out that mac & cheese was also on the other plate that was ordered, they agreed to a partial refund. So despite spending $32.48 just on food, $20 was refunded and we still have nothing to eat.

I was in the mood for Caribbean food, so I stopped in at this restaurant. When we arrived, we parked in the plaza lot. We walked into a bar and restaurant. At first, I sat at the bar thinking I had to order there. I then realized the food was pre-made, so I went to that station. I ordered the curry chicken with macaroni and cheese and cabbage. It was about $15 and paid and left. When I dug in, I liked the cabbage and the macaroni and cheese but the chicken I wasn't too fond of. I didn't like the flavors too much, and I really like curry chicken. All in all, it was an ok experience.

Oxtail Stew (4 Large pcs. or 5 small pcs.) Fried Yellow Plantains Peas and Rice

Passed by this place a few times and decided to try it on a whim. As I walked in, the vibes were nice. They had music playing and it was pretty empty. I wasn't greeted as I came inside but if I'm being honest, I don't expect great service when I eat Caribbean food. Food It's a bit weird because you get the choice of meat and 2 sides but they count rice as a side and everything totaled up to $50, with no drinks. I ended up getting the red snapper and oxtail with Mac and cheese and peas and rice. The oxtail could've been more tender and the snapper didn't really have as much flavor as I would've liked. The rice was good and the mac and cheese was okay. Overall, I probably won't go back but it wasn't horrible.

Creamy Jerk Chicken, mac n cheese, and mixed veggies.

Found this restaurant yesterday, 3-27, by searching "Black Owned Businesses" and I'm so glad we did! My husband and I were in the area and wanted to patronize "our" folks! The food was AHH-MAZING!! Kinda pricey, but well worth it! I got the Creamy Jerk Chicken w/mac n cheese and mixed veggies! Soo GOOD! I have been searching for another Caribbean (Guyana to be exact) restaurant that compares to the one I'm used to at home (L.A., Lame Athens, Ga.), and I've FINALLY found it! The chicken is spicy, (just the way it's supposed to be) and the veggies were great! The mac n cheese, was good, not great, but that's ok, b/c everything else made up for it! My husband had the stuffed Salmon w/crab n shrimp....OFF THE CHAIN good!! We mos. def. will be going back! Highly recommended restaurant! Go get you some!!

Boneless Jerk Chicken (Spicy)

My husband frequents Caribbean Fiesta Restaurant and Bar. Usually, the food is good. Today, not so much. That happens from time to time and I understand. What made me do this negative review was the lack of good customer service when we called to express one of the plates was inedible. I understand a no-refund policy. My husband advised them that we live too far to come back this evening to bring the plates back. So, we sent pictures to establish trust and ensure the assistant manager that we were not trying to get anything for free. I believe her name is Jazzlyn. The manager, Sara was unavailable per Carly, the young lady that answered the phone. We simply wanted an option to have our food redone, which Jazzlyn offered. What struck me as off and quite honestly offended me was her request for us to bring the inedible food back to the restaurant the NEXT DAY to prove that we had not eaten it. When I asked if she would have eaten the food in the picture attached, she said yes. And that is when we knew we would not return to Caribbean Fiesta restaurant and Bar.

Jerk Pork Meal with rice and peas.... No peas
Alana W.

We ordered on UberEats maybe 2 hours prior to closing. That may have been the first problem. I ordered beef patties with cocoa bread and an order of jerk pork with Mac and cheese for both sides and rice and peas. I received slabs of pork, not chopped, no jerk sauce at all. They gave me one side of Mac and cheese (no second side) and the rice had ZERO peas. Like, what?? There was nothing appetizing about this plate and UberEats wouldn't refund. I do NOT recommend. The Mac and cheese was actually tasty and so were the beef patties.

Curried goat meal and ordered to go oxtail stew!

Awesome staff and amazing dj/music, nice vibes, clean, and delicious foods. Keep up the great work! Thank you so much!

Service tends to be good and very easy as you just call them in. Food is great but can be pricey. The karaoke experience works well with no problems so far. I like how there are screens in the front and back of the room. I absolutely hate the bathrooms here. It's small and women tend to just stand around in there making it hard to maneuver around.

There was a loud pop when the police poked into our room and asked if the employees told us to leave (no, at this moment in time). * We bought alcohol and food but were barely able to eat it. At least they were able to comp some of the purchase. * The employees were just as confused and blamed it on miscommunication. So your supervisor or manager never told you the closing time?! * An employee literally said "Everyone from this side of the room get the f**k out." Yes, he addressed this to paying customers. Totally poor communication from within and to the public. And even poorer execution of this to customers. People are confused, why would you cuss to usher people out.

I was really looking forward to trying the oysters, but I didn't realize their menu changes often so unfortunately, no oysters this time. A little sad about that! We decided to order pretty much everything off the à la carte menu. Overall, the food was just okay to me. The Brussels sprouts were the hardest to eat they were basically raw, just thinly sliced with sauce poured over. It would've been much better if they were at least steamed or grilled a bit. The mushrooms, though, were absolutely BOMB! If I didn't know what it was, I would've thought it was some sort of meat dish super soft, flavorful, and delicious. Definitely the highlight of the meal. The Wagyu, on the other hand, was a big disappointment. For the price, it was tough and chewy when it should've been buttery and melt-in-your-mouth tender. Overall, the place is cute and the vibes are nice, but the food was overpriced for what it was. I'd only come back for those mushrooms they were that good.

I placed an order for everything on the carte menu. Food was fun and a few of the dishes caught me off guard, in a good way. Pros. We loveeed the maitake mushrooms. This dish was one dish my friend and I had low expectations for. Ironically it's the only dish we would go back for! The bucatini I also had low expectations for. I hardly order pasta, from non pasta specialty places, because the pasta is 99% of the time going to be overcooked. BUT this bucatini was cooked perfectly al dente. The sauce was rich but not too heavy and just enough to cover the noodles without drowning. The crab taste was pretty faint. If it weren't listed on the menu I wouldn't even think it were in the dish. Cons. The brussel sprout salad was honestly almost inedible. It is a raw shaved brussel sprout salad, dressed as a Caesar salad. Although not bad tasting, the core of the sprouts was not tender but dry and hard. There was also a lot of it. Most disappointing was the "waygu ribeye". The quality was pretty horrible. The piece we got had silver skin as well as chunks of fat. I wish I got a picture of the leftover fat from the steak but if you look at my picture you can clearly see slices of just fat. I love a little fat on a well cooked ribeye and do not mind paying for it. But paying $50 for a probably 8oz "waygu" ribeye with only half of it palatable is wild. Regardless, I'm actually going back in a couple of days with my husband because of those amazing mushrooms.. though as I am writing this review I'm debating on canceling my reservation, ordering the mushrooms to go, and just going elsewhere. lol

**This review is specifically for Overstory Rooftop Brunch**…read more Made a solo reservation on a Sunday to have brunch before seeing a show. The good parts didn't outweigh the not-so-good for me. 1. Located on the 9th floor of The Westin, BUT, parking is mad affordable, which is a big relief as usually hotel rooftops have a static valet parking fee for $25 or more. There is a garage right in front of the entrance and its 5 bucks for up to 4 hours. 2. Views - decent enough for the 9th floor, but mostly overlooks trees and some highways. There isn't much to actually look at as far as a skyline. I was here in the daytime though, maybe at night with whatever city lights coming in, it may be a lil more charming. 3. Ambience - the inside was really nice, the tables were big and seating was comfy, a combo of cushioned chairs and velvety booths or couches. nice decor, and the outside portion of the rooftop also seemed very spacious, with a big main area as well as seating & a few more tables down the side of the building. I went during the yacht rock brunch period, so there was a live DJ spinning old hits from the 70s/80s. the music was at a cool volume, not so loud that you can't hear anyone speak, but not too low like background music - loud enough that you feel like its okay to vibe out. 4. Food & Service - this is where it fell apart for me. when i was seated, it took about 15-20 minutes for my waitress to come and ask me what i wanted to drink. when she finally did, i realized this same woman had walked past me several times before, on the way to do nothing in particular. she didn't introduce herself but was polite. she brought out my coffee and took my order, it took an hour for my food to come out. and the place wasn't crowded. only 2 couples sitting outside and about 40% capacity ithe indoor section where I was. and the food was subpar. it all came out hot, BUT. chicken sausage was hard to bite because casing was burnt and tough. eggs were cooked with so much butter it just tasted like i was eating fluffy butter. biscuit was dry and couldn't possibly be homemade. 'parmesan potatoes' had a few sad dried dots of cheese and parsley but no seasoning whatsoever. i forced myself to eat about half. I live far from Duluth, so really no reason to come back. Maybe a nighttime hang with drinks only, on the outdoor terrace would be a slightly better experience. But I don't have to find out.

We closed our tab and moved from the bar seating to the lounge seating along the wall. We requested a server for food and waited awhile. The wait time for food was ridiculous for it to come back inedible. The calamari was fried hard, so we sent it back and got a smaller amount with minor improvement. My fries were limp and cold, so didn't eat those either. Despite a mixed crowd, in terms of age, the music was all 90s hip hop and R&B, even older. The DJ played no dance music or anything current. My friend stepped out because she saw other people smoking and it wasn't hookah if you know what I mean...and they attempted to charge her $10 for entrance (I wouldn't pay $1 to get in there).
