If I could rate this place negatively, I would. I can'tspeak on the taste of the food. I'm at a conference in a hotel near the location in Duluth so we walked over and purchased some food. We got back to our hotel and found hair in the macaroni and cheese. We called over there and, after sending pictures of the hair and the receipt, we were told they were taking off just the one meal that the hair was found in. Never mind, the fact that nothing else has been touched and the only thing I would like to pay for is the thing that came pre-sealed, which was the sweet tea. Why would I take a risk eating any of this other food? How do I know that the hair is limited to the macaroni? After pointing out that mac & cheese was also on the other plate that was ordered, they agreed to a partial refund. So despite spending $32.48 just on food, $20 was refunded and we still have nothing to eat. read more

The restaurant is in a plaza like a strip mall. The inside is pretty spacious, with booth and high table seating and a bar area. The food is already prepared in a buffet style, and any other Ins take 10 minutes to prepare. The bartender (white lady she never gave me her name) was friendly and outgoing. She made my Bob Marley drink and prepared my food to eat and my two played to go. I ordered the oxtails, with rice and maa as c n cheese and the portions was small but tasty. Passed by this place a few times and decided to try it on a whim. As I walked in, the vibes were nice. They had music playing and it was pretty empty. I wasn't greeted as I came inside but if I'm being honest, I don't expect great service when I eat Caribbean food. Food It's a bit weird because you get the choice of meat and 2 sides but they count rice as a side and everything totaled up to $50, with no drinks. I ended up getting the red snapper and oxtail with Mac and cheese and peas and rice. The oxtail could've been more tender and the snapper didn't really have as much flavor as I would've liked. I was in the mood for Caribbean food, so I stopped in at this restaurant. When we arrived, we parked in the plaza lot. We walked into a bar and restaurant. At first, I sat at the bar thinking I had to order there. I then realized the food was pre-made, so I went to that station. I ordered the curry chicken with macaroni and cheese and cabbage. It was about $15 and paid and left. When I dug in, I liked the cabbage and the macaroni and cheese but the chicken I wasn't too fond of. One of my must visit locations whenever I'm visiting from NY. The food is always incredible- favorites from my most recent visit (July25) were: -Lemon Pepper Wings -Baked Mac and cheese -Coconut shrimp -Beef curry with white rice -Chicken curry with dhal puri -Passion fruit juice You really can not go wrong with these simple but delicious options. I ordered a meal of beef stew and white rice with mixed vegetables. The beef is soft and tender but at same time it was missing that Carribean spice. It was bland for my taste. The mixed vegetables were flavorful but I don't like soft texture food. My bf ordered a meal of curry beef and white rice with cabbage. The beef was more flavorful and I loved the spice they marinated it in. The cabbage is okay but it was perfect with the beef. I should have asked for a sample. I have been searching for another Caribbean (Guyana to be exact) restaurant that compares to the one I'm used to at home (L.A., Lame Athens, Ga.), and I've FINALLY found it! My husband frequents Caribbean Fiesta Restaurant and Bar. Usually, the food is good. Today, not so much. That happens from time to time and I understand. What made me do this negative review was the lack of good customer service when we called to express one of the plates was inedible. I understand a no-refund policy. My husband advised them that we live too far to come back this evening to bring the plates back. So, we sent pictures to establish trust and ensure the assistant manager that we were not trying to get anything for free. I believe her name is Jazzlyn. The manager, Sara was unavailable per Carly, the young lady that answered the phone. We simply wanted an option to have our food redone, which Jazzlyn offered. What struck me as off and quite honestly offended me was her request for us to bring the inedible food back to the restaurant the NEXT DAY to prove that we had not eaten it. And ohh the food. 10/10 across the board. My boyfriend enjoyed the beef stew meal and I ordered the conch fritters(along with a few other things). We ordered on UberEats maybe 2 hours prior to closing. That may have been the first problem. I ordered beef patties with cocoa bread and an order of jerk pork with Mac and cheese for both sides and rice and peas. I received slabs of pork, not chopped, no jerk sauce at all. They gave me one side of Mac and cheese (no second side) and the rice had ZERO peas. Like, what?? There was nothing appetizing about this plate and UberEats wouldn't refund. I do NOT recommend. No flavor), he got the world's runny Mac and cheese. And we both got the nastiest steamed veggies. They told us 25 min wait for the salmon but it took 40!!! The salmon was nasty the plantains nasty. Even the couple next to us didn't finish their food. Just disgusting! The dj and set up is the only reason I gave it 2 stars. Oh and the fruit juice is good. Went to Bahama Breeze but the wait was an hour. Checked Yelp for nearby place and just down the street was this small place with a big taste. Loved the decor of Carribean items and colors. Went to the order area and looked over the choices and all looked and smelled good. Plenty of choices but went with the Island Chicken with jerk rice and corn. The chicken tasted great but the heat definitely comes on. Make sure you like hot food before getting this one. The rice and corn was good. The cheese rolls had hard cheese as if it had been sitting all day. I don't think they would eat this. The quality of the Coco bread (SMH). I asked for steamed veggies and I received a container of corn, which wasn't bad to be honest but I was looking for cabbage you know. The plantains were awesome. This star rating is based on the customer service at the Duluth location. I know customer service is lacking these days, so I feel the need to provide some much-needed Customer 101 feedback on the Duluth location. The bar tender is consistently welcoming and is intentional about greeting customers to include a smile and eye contact as soon as you walk in. Unfortunately, the servers behind the counter - not so much. They are lukewarm at best. I come here often but the last few times, I have left disappointed and slightly annoyed. I usually come during the off hours, so there is no line. During my last visit earlier this week, I stood at the counter for 5 minutes waiting to place my order while watching the server walk past me several times trying to complete another task. In that 5 minutes she could have taken my order, filled my container and checked me out at the register, and I would have been on my way. I completely understand multi-tasking, but the customer in front of you should be the priority. And, if you are multitasking, at the very least greet and acknowledge the customer with a "Hi, I'll be right with you." Instead, there was no acknowledgement. no eye contact, no greeting - nothing! Unfortunately, this is typical behavior of whoever is behind the counter and there are consistently 2 that have been there for a while, so the issue is not turnover. But it may be a lack of knowledge and training around the basics of customer service. Good Customer Service and Customer Experience is everything! Train your Team to have a demeanor of appreciation towards your customers for patronizing your business and to take note of loyal customers. Your Team is the front line of the business. The first impression starts and ends with them. I'll be to taking a break from this location for a while. It's not hard to find my go-to dish at other restaurants. In fact, there is a restaurant in the shopping center right next door that serves the same dish. read more

Found this place on Tiktok and was so excited to try carribean food in Duluth that isn't bahama breeze. The service was good, but oh my God the food was NOT it. The mac and cheese noodles were over cooked and soft, the cheese was watery. The oxtails were okay but the jerk chicken sauce was watery. The collard greens were obviously canned and unseasoned.
