The atmosphere is cool and laid-back perfect spot to hang out with friends. It's not overly crowded during the day, which made it even better for watching the game and enjoying the hookah. I didn't try the food since I had just eaten beforehand, but I'd definitely come back to check out the menu next time. The spot itself was cool, and the bartender was great. She made some really good drinks, and overall the food was okay. The wings, however, weren't the best. My wife ordered the catfish but didn't care for it because the seasoning was extremely salty. She only ate a small portion of it, and when the manager came over, he felt it was necessary to tell her, "You didn't taste the fish." Honestly, I bit my tongue because who are you to tell someone whether they liked something or not? She tasted the fish and it simply wasn't to her liking. As a manager, I don't think arguing with a customer about their personal taste was necessary. Instead, it would have been better to simply acknowledge her feedback and move on. You can't tell someone that they enjoyed something when they're telling you they didn't. Sapphire is a really nice place. The lighting and vibe are very relaxed and chill. The DJ was playing great music for dancing. I ordered the catfish with hushpuppies, and my friend ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, and sautéed bell peppers. The food was okay. The mashed potatoes were tasty. That was the highlight of our meal. Now, the service was poor. Our server kept disappearing for long periods of time, and it was very frustrating. Most of the servers need a class on customer service and waiting tables, but I guess no one cares when you get your tip regardless of how you treat your customers. I feel like this place should have been packed on a Saturday night, but it wasn't. Ambiance was nice with dim lighting and good R&B soul music playing. No live DJ on a Thursday night. Only 3 other parties were there so the place was pretty empty. Host was very prompt and polite. We were seated right away. Service was great. Food arrived fast after we ordered. Flavor of the food was very good. Only downside was that there were no condiments on the table (salt/pepper, hot sauce, ketchup, etc.) so I asked for hot sauce and they charge an additional $2 for a small cup. For a Wednesday night, I didn't expect much. It's been open a year. Stopped in on a whim for a drink & a bite. The ambiance of the place is nice. TVs had sports (no audio) & music was jammin. There were only 1 other couple inside when we arrived. They have deals almost every day on either drinks or food. FOOD: Ordered the mozzarella sticks & catfish entree. The mozzarella sticks were flavorful. The catfish dish came topped with arugula & had 6 hushpuppies. The catfish was fresh & the arugula made it a delicious bite. I would have liked a little bit more of arugula to have with each bite of my fish but not a deal breaker. The hushpuppies were very good. They had bits of corn & came with sauce but didn't need it at all. Overall, I enjoyed both items ordered. Drinks were ok. Mine was slightly overpowered with lime, but it was good overall. This place would pop if more people were there. I noticed there's a 15% gratuity for parties over 4 & checks over $100. This place is located in a pocket & it's not easily seen from the street. DO NOT go to this restaurant! I cannot get over my experience here- the staff are extremely unprofessional and literal thieves. I went for a drink with a friend and they charged me twice, one charge was my bill and the other charge was someone else's bill. No idea how or why that happened. The worst part was trying to get my money back. The manager was blowing up my phone texting me all these questions then said he would check the security footage. He sent me the video of the waitress dropping off the check and then bringing back my card after she rang it up and tried to say that showed I paid two separate bills and that there was no overcharge. He sent literal video proof of me paying once and tried to gaslight me saying I paid twice. I was shook I had to literally fight w the manager to get my money back. He refused to admit that they made a mistake and just kept saying "so what do you want" like ummm my money back??? It was insane. He said I had to come in to get a refund, then texted me the next day asking me to request the money from their cashapp. I finally got it after days of going back and forth and on sketchy cashapp none the less. I'll start with the good and say the DJ was great and the food is good once you get your order and once they correct it. I can't say if it was our server or the kitchen that messed up, but I will say the way the entire staff and owner handled the situation could have been better, and we should have known we were in for an afternoon of disappointing customer service. Our group of 4 placed orders pretty quickly; however, the 4th person didn't get their food until the rest of us were almost finished. We wanted to wait to start eating until she got her food since the waiter kept telling us it was coming right out, but after 15 minutes of no food and the same run around, we decided to eat our meals, and our friend boxed hers to go. Only after being asked about the delay was the server finally honest about the kitchen forgetting the meal. Not so much as an apology for the inconvenience. After boxing the food to go, we asked for our checks. Again, the server completely forgot about us, and we had to flag the owner down to ask for our check. He didn't actually come over when we waived him down because he was too busy smoking hookah and drinking Belaire, but he grabbed the server for us. When the check came we were not shocked by the automatic gratuity which was displayed on the menu before placing our orders, but we were surprised by an additional "Fee" with no description. When asked about the random fee, the owner informed us that they charge 3% of the total to use a card but if we wanted to pay in cash they'd take it off. They do not disclose this fee anywhere, not even on the receipt, and had we paid in cash and not asked about the fee, I highly doubt they would have taken it off. When advised that the law requires them to tell people about any ACH processing fee ahead of time so that we the consumers can decide if we'd rather get cash or use a card, he was rude, claimed that he wasn't the owner (even though his staff confirmed he was), and that there's nothing he can do to remove the fee. In an age where automatic gratuity is included for subpar service, "suggestions" for additional tip on top of included gratuity, forgotten orders, and rude owners who lie and refuse to comply with the law (even when the law is as simple as adding a sign)...this is not a place I'd recommend anyone spend their hard-earned money. I will be reporting any illegal practices to the appropriate governmental agencies for investigation. read more

Went to Sapphire for a date night on a Friday and really enjoyed ourselves. We made a reservation but it wasn't really needed. It gives lounge atmosphere, DJ came about 9p and played a great mix of new and old music, the food was pretty good, they have a full bar with wine and they offer Hookah for $40 (menu online). The service was good, our hostess Morgan was mad cool and super dope. It wasn't very busy but she was very attentive. The food came out really quick, the lamb chops and the salmon were very good. I went to SapphireATL in Duluth, GA to celebrate my birthday with a friend, and the experience was really disappointing. I ordered catfish with hush puppies, and my friend ordered lamb chops with mashed potatoes (medium rare). When the food came, my friend started eating her appetizer first. Then, when she cut into her lamb chops, they were ice cold inside, not just room temperature, but cold like they came straight out of the cooler. She tried more than one piece, and all of them were the same way. She politely told the server the food was cold and asked if it could be remade. Instead, they offered to reheat the same plate she had already tasted. That's not okay. She wasn't rude or asking for a discount, she just wanted properly cooked food. Instead of apologizing and fixing it, they claimed her food got cold because she was "doing something else," and then checked the camera to see how long it had been sitting there. That was just uncalled for. In the end, she didn't get her food remade, still paid full price, and even left a $30 tip for our server, who honestly looked uncomfortable about how everything was handled. The real issue was management, there was no accountability or effort to make it right. I wouldn't say "never go," because maybe it was a bad day for them, but for us, the experience was terrible. It started out with the reservation process , extremely smooth and found out that the owner is a fellow New Yorker, which is always a plus !! I'm walking in the door with a birthday cake and I'm immediately approached by a server telling me there is a 20doll charge to bring in my own cake....where they do that at!! The place probably consisted of a total of 15 customers including my party if 6. Took forever to receive our cocktails and food. Don't even ask for a second drink the waitress will completely forget about it. Drinks are watered down and food menu doesn't have many options. Wings tasted of old grease. I got the chicken Alfredo. It was ok--it definitely could've used more sauce and less Parmesan. We visited in Valentine's Day. Upon arriving to the restaurant, we're greeted by a host who told us they were "waiting on 22 reservations" ahead of us and they only had bar seating available. Although there were not 3 seats together at the bar, the host reassured us that the bartender would have other guest shift to accommodate us. When we approached the bar, the bartender Taylor (cute as a peach), basically informed us that she wasn't going to ask the other guest to accommodate us and that we need to ask ourselves. The other guests shifted-- the wrong way. Taylor then told me to "just move the barstool over to the other side" while i am In stiletto heels. This was only the beginning of a long dinner. The drinks were very overbearing (strong if that's how you like it!), and the food was sub par--Luke warm at most. Since it was my little sister's 21st birthday, I figured that I'd ask Taylor if there was any sort of complimentary dessert for birthdays and she stated that they had birthday cake available. She asked me for sister's name and mentioned she'd be bringing out a slice of birthday cake with sparklers. She brings out a slice of cheese cake with fruit purée topping. After eating the cheese cake that was originally supposed to be a slice of birthday cake, she goes to ask me "who's card is the cheesecake going to be on?" MA'AM did I not ask if you guys had COMPLIMENTARY birthday dishes?? So what do you mean who's card is the cheesecake that was originally supposed to be birthday cake going to be on?! We found this restaurant/bar through a google search, as we were in the area and looking for a place to eat. When we walked in the door, we could not tell if this was a bar or a restaurant. The decor mostly consisted of artificial flowers, and the colors of blue and white. They were everywhere. Including an entire wall with them. The thing about artificial flowers is, when you decorate with them, it is supposed to look natural. This looks like my grandmother went to the dollar store that reminds me of high school, homecoming decorations. The short version of the review is that the food is fantastic. Some of the entrées are over priced. The drink menu is absolutely ridiculous. The least expensive cocktail is $16. They have a few beers, and it is clear that liquor is what they want you to drink. We had 2 appetizers (half priced each for happy hour). 2 entrees (butter chicken and southern fried chicken) a side of rice, 1 dessert and 4 cocktails total. Our bill before tip was $150. That's a lot for an average dinner. I like to make the suggestion to the owners. You have a great idea. Your recipes are delicious and the food is excellent. I would suggest you completely revamp your cocktail menu. The drinks are too complex to make. The bartender did not know how to make anything we ordered and had to reference her recipe book. Each drink took more than 5 min to make. The actual amount of alcohol in each drink varied. Do your alcohol par counts. I bet you're losing a ton of alcohol. Make a drink menu that has some eye catching cocktails but that are easy and fast to make. The bartender had a hard time keeping up and the there were less than 10 tables. She stated she has worked there for a couple of weeks. She should have known the entire menu by then. Also, I would completely redecorate. Sapphire is a great name. It should be sleek, modern, regal. As a customer, I if I'm walking into a restaurant that's going to cost me at least $100 for dinner, I want to feel like it's s special night out. People are choosing to spend their hard earned money in your establishment. It wouldn't take much to create a feeling of sophisticated elegance. I would also expand your bar to add more seating. People who sit at the bar typically order alcohol. If that's your money maker, then give the people what they want. The bar is also a place the single people can sit without tying up a table/booth. I would completely rearrange the seating. I'm wondering where people sit if there's no space, the booths are full, and you have move the tables in the middle to allow for dancing. One last thing I want to address. As we were eating, j ordered a second drink. From the time I ordered the drink to the time I received my drink, 22 minutes had passed. The bartender made my drink, and when she poured it from the shaker to the glass, it was not enough to fill the glass. As that happened, a couple walked in, approached the bar and stated they had reservations. The bartender first advised them they could choose any tablet they wanted. Then she put my drink down, walked around the bar, escorted them to a table and then spent 6 minutes talking to them at the table. Finally she returned and finished my drink. Her solution to the fact she made my drink short was to add more alcohol to the shot, which changed the taste. I really didn't want it at that point because I was finished with my meal by then. We ordered our entrees to go and it took them 35 minutes to prepare the food. I had to wait an additional 10 min for rice they forgot to put in the box. On a positive note, the bartender was pleasant,answered my questions about the menu items and seemed to know the food menu well enough. She did not engage us at all. The vibe she gave was that this was just a job. She was here to fulfill the required duties and nothing more.I would spend your money on a quality bartender. A good one can significantly impact your sales volume. Overall, the food was not good enough to make up for the bad service and high prices. This restaurant will be a one and done for us. Paid a $200 deposit because I had a party of more than 5. Was told that we needed to spend $400 on whatever we wanted. But when we got there we were told we absolutely had to purchase a bottle.
