I needed a meal for my daughter's dad and I on a whim since I didn't get to cook for Christmas Eve. I've seen this place before considering I've gone to another restaurant a couple doors down. I've had their veggie patty previously, but never had their food other than the Patty. The patty was was delicious and so I decided to give the food a try since all other places were closed at 8 PM on Christmas Eve. I ordered the oxtails with rice and peas, cabbage, and a large order of the curry chicken with white rice and cabbage. I also ordered a side of mac & cheese. My food was piping hot, and the portion size was pretty hefty for both orders the flavor of both the chicken and oxtails were out of this world! Whatever sauce they use or gravy, they are using for both the curry. Chicken and oxtails is beyond delicious for words to describe! The rice and peas were cooked well meaning they weren't mucky or mushy, and the cabbage was seasoned to perfection. Both the meats were fall off the bone tender, and I wish I would've had a little bit more cocktails but hey, I'm not complaining. Lol. The mac & cheese was about average considering most places in the Atlanta area do not know how to make mac & cheese, however, it was good overall because I've had worse. I would rate the macaroni and cheese a 7. The food was palatable even for my little toddler and the curry wasn't too spicy considering she ate some curry chicken, and she had oxtails lol. The service was good. The young lady at the register definitely had to be a daughter and they were slow so it was super empty. Again, it was 8 o'clock at night on Christmas Eve. My order was received fairly quickly and by quickly, I mean within 10 minutes Since I was right around the corner. Of course I didn't sit down to eat, but it's a nice mom and pop/to-go style. Sit down and eat really quickly type of establishment. The place is quaint so it won't sit a full restaurant of people however it's just enough if you wanna sit down enjoy your meal and leave. They have cultural/traditional Jamaican drinks and play real Jamaican music. You can definitely tell their authentic Jamaican and not Americanized Jamaican as some places are and have been. My meal total with tax and including a veggie patty was $50.56. I always say you get what you pay for, therefore, just know I have no buyers remorse. HUGE REGRET coming here. As a Jamaican, please know that this is NOT authentic Jamaican food. Our food is not like this. I ordered takeout and EVERYTHING I was given was OLD FOOD. The chicken, the rice, the macaroni, it could all make you sick. The chicken tasted old, the rice was definitely cooked days ago and the macaroni tasted like reheated leftovers from who knows how long. The rice had a bunch of clumped up rice together. Kinda like what happens when you reheat food in the microwave for too long. It tasted so odd. This is how the chicken looked when I pulled it a part. There was literally nothing to eat from it because it was all burned and had hard pieces, the same texture as beef jerky. The macaroni was obviously old. This was my first time coming and I got the Jerk Chicken with Sweet Plantain, Rice and Peas & Cabbage. The jerk chicken was super tender it was really good. They use weird cuts of chicken but it was still flavorful. The rice was definitely not my favorite it tasted kind of stale or maybe pre-made? Almost like it has been refrigerated in the past, not fresh. The sweet plantain was really good definitely would get that again. I am not usually a fan of cabbage so I did not try that much but it was slightly undercooked. I also had a beef patty which was super good would definitely get that again too. I stopped by what use to be my favorite Jamaican restaurant and ordered a small jerk chicken spicy. I've been coming to this restaurant for years and I either get the jerk wings or jerk chicken dinner. It looked like only the owners were working and there was a couple already seated. Long story short, I wasn't being impatient because I could tell he was busy. When my order came up it was curry chicken and I said I ordered jerk chicken. He continued to bag up my order which to me mean well you are getting curry chicken. I tried to be rationale as I looked at the menu and saw that curry chicken was more expensive than jerk chicken. So, I said maybe this is a win. Well, it wasn't the curry chicken was bland, and they had the nerve to sprinkle hot sauce on it.... never again. I ordered the veggie plate, a side of Mac n cheese, a side of jerk Mac n cheese and a veggie patty. The portion size of the large veggie plate was plenty for two people....or just one hungry person lol! Ordered a cheese patty with bun, ackee and saltfish, mac & cheese, and sweet potato pudding. My food was delivered and arrived nicely packaged with saran wrap which I appreciated. As for the taste of the food... The cheese patty & bun was pretty good. The ackee was a bit mushy & salftfish a bit dry. I've definitely had fresher. The Mac & cheese could have used some more cheese as well as salt. The sweet potato pudding never arrived but instead I was given a piece of rum cake which was just ok. If you live in the Gwinnett area, you have got to check out this Jamaican restaurant in the vicinity of Sugarloaf Mills Mall. The food is delicious and authentically Jamaican. My favorite it the Jerk Chicken and Rasta Pasta, drizzled with curry goat gravy (substituted for the rice & peas). Their oxtail, on point! Best in the area. I saw so messiness, well a lot of messiness while waiting in line to order, but they're still functioning through the mess so GOD help em', give em the strength to be more cleanly with their place. Their was a random patty sitting out on a pan, but i do know fast food can get like that. Their were a whole bunch of random papers on the tables that used to sit guests before the COVID pandemic. Since I got back from Jamaica, I've been on a SERIOUS Jamaican kick looking for a restaurant to replicate the flavors of the brown stew chicken I had while there! Was brought the brown stew chicken from Kingston 30 with rice & peas and vegetables. I will say they give you a decent portion but everything was seriously lacking salt. I added my own and it tasted decent, and even lasted me several days with the amount they provided but I definitely would recommend they make everything with a bit more seasonings and salt so no one has to go home and doctor it up on their own! read more

We are not Jamaican food aficionados by any means, but we thought the food here was pretty good. We placed an order by UberEats and it took a while for delivery. I can't handle too much spice and the jerk chicken was too much for me, but my bf enjoyed it. We also had the rice and peas, plantains, and stewed fish. I had hoped that the fish was fileted but it was a whole fish which made eating it kind of a pain, having to pick out bones. I absolutely loved the beef patties. Rum cake was just okay for me. I have been to this place on a few occasions. For the most part, the food is pretty good. I have only had their Jerk Chicken so far. There are some things that they can work on service wise but hey... Parking can be somewhat limited directly in front of the location. However, this place shares an additional lot with Sugarloaf Mills, so you can park and just walk across the street if there isn't any readily available. This place is very small. I have dined in twice and picked up a to go order twice. Today, I went and ordered Jerk Chicken white meat with no rice just veggies. The chicken was flavorful. They give you the option of spicy or mild sauce for the chicken. My veggies were not steamed enough. They were still extremely crunchy. This has not been the case in the past. I called my order in because I was in a rush to get back to work. I asked how long was the wait. I was told 5-10 minutes. I arrived about 8 minutes later and still had to wait another 10 minutes for my food. This is an inconvenience. I do not mind waiting for good, fresh food but please give an accurate estimate on wait time. In the past, when I dined in, my main complaint was that no one comes to pick the tab up from the table. You have to take it to the register to pay. That somewhat defeats the purpose of dining in but no big deal. The staff is normally quiet... but still friendly. I would definitely return. A group of six of us from work went for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We got right in and was seated. It is small and seating is limited but did notice a lot of take out orders as people came in to pick up. We all ordered lunch deals that do have a lot of food. I ordered the jerk chicken with bones which comes with rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. All of the table ordered the jerk chicken except one who got the curry chicken boneless. I got my chicken spicy, which actually was fairly mild. It did have a good seasoning and the rice and cabbage was good. We ordered an order of jerk chicken wings for the table that came out way too done. Barely could chew the meat. Plan on spending at least an hour for your lunch hour here.
