I love this restaurant franchise. They serve the best burgers and fries. At LR Burger the extra touch are the milkshakes which are fabulous. And for an added street, you can have a "boozy shake". Salted Caramel is my favorite. For burgers, I almost always get "The Sink" because I love the added touch of an egg, but they have a number of signature burgers: Mr Jones (with pimento cheese bacon and jalepeno) is another good one. It is a counter service restaurant which makes it super casual, but the food comes out quick and there are lots of tables and rooftop seating with a bar, which is perfect!!! I fell in love with their burgers at Local Republic but the ambience and convenience of LR Burger makes this a go to for me. read more

This is our go-to spot for burgers whenever we're in the downtown area! I do wish they had a few more burger options, but honestly, sometimes simple is exactly what you need. The fries are a standout--the portions are huge and perfectly seasoned. We also love their loaded fries! The restaurant itself is usually clean and well-kept. The only downside is the restroom, which could use more frequent attention. I came here with a friend Sunday afternoon and we really enjoyed it. I'm taking off a star because the bathroom needed some cleaning and the milkshake I ordered was eh. I lovedd the smashburger and the fries were good too. This might be the best smash burger I've ever had. My friend loved her grilled club. I'd happily come back but would maybe try a different flavor shake (or an alcoholic slushie) and would hope the bathroom is cleaner. The milkshake was a good consistency but the flavor just wasn't my favorite. Tasted more like it had a whip cream kind of base than vanilla ice cream. Didn't have that crisp vanilla-ness. Let's just start off by saying that I was craving a juicy burger. This isn't the place for that, but they offer smash burgers. I ordered a Dr.Egon, Mr.Jones, small pimento fries, and a drink which was a total of $34. The food took some times granted they had to cook the burgers, but the wait was worth it. The patties are cooked to medium well, and the portions are pretty big. Food was not only filling, but flavorful and crispy (crispy edges on the patty!!!) Service was also good, and overall would recommend this place IF you want a smash burger haha. LR Burger is located in the vibrant and charming downtown Duluth. Beautiful scenery outside the restaurant to enjoy. The food was good. the burger I had was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The standout was definitely the Patrick Swayze burger, a fiery, spicy burger that had me in tears (in the best way!). Despite the busy crowd, the staff remained friendly and efficient, showing why this spot is clearly a local favorite. Delicious burgers! I got the BBQ burger which has cheese, fried onions, bacon, and bbq sauce. Kinda reminds me of Steak and Shake, but this hit the spot. Fries were plenty on my plate! Ask for the fry sauce to go with it, unless you like basic ketchup with it. Not a problem at all. There's even mayo available. Different sauces available for everybody's liking. They have a self serve drink station, for all your sodas/ water/ tea. It's counter order, and they bring the food to you for your table number. I noticed they have a rooftop section, but I'm not sure how to get up there lol. It was a pretty cold day, so indoors was the best option. Aesthetically, the whole building looks nice. The concept of the roof top and vibe is really nice and you'd wanna come here with your friends to drink and eat. Unfortunately, the only access to the roof is going to be stairs so not everyone can enjoy it. I asked the staff downstairs if it's possible to order food from the roof top and they said yes which was not a lie but they failed to mention that the customer the selves have to pick up the food from downstairs because there are no food runners. Which would've been fine, I just would've ordered from downstairs and then taken the food up instead of multiple trips. (I mean... women in heels don't wanna do this) The service inside downstairs is a flop. But the bartenders upstairs were very sweet and informative and they make really good drinks. The pimento cheese fries are yummy and flavorful. I got a naked hot dog to keep it simple. Now if you want ketchup you have to go downstairs and use the little ketchup pumps - they don't have packets. Which I found odd because they had Muatard and Mayo packets upstairs, just no ketchup. Went to LR Burger for dinner with friends. They claim to have a bar but they are 2 separate entities. Bar is on the upstairs patio with beautiful views - they take your order but we were told that we have to go get our food from downstairs when it is ready. Downstairs is food with a fairly decent seating area but if you want drinks, you have to go upstairs to order. Canned beer, boozy shakes and slushies were available downstairs. Burgers were decent - be careful while adding jalepenos, they added so many that I couldn't enjoy my burger and had to take them out. Maybe ask for them to be on the side. Burgers start at 9 dollars as base price but do not need include side or drinks. Fries are 4.50 and a drink is 2.99. So a base burger is about 18-19 at the least. I only explored from a distance but it seems like they have a really cool upstairs area overlooking downtown Duluth. Staff is super friendly and the menu had a good mix of hamburgers hotdogs and a few salad options. I went with the chicken club and wasn't super impressed with the quality of meat.. We asked for recommendations & tried the Oklahoma & Mr. Jones. Both burgers come with a ton of onions. I like onions but it was a bit much to me. We also got fries & pimento cheese on the side. The food is so good and the bar staff upstairs are incredibly friendly. Downstairs staff aren't trained well and unfriendly. If you want to go to the bar upstairs, order your food before you go upstairs because you have to bring it up yourself in to go boxes. Also, in getting your own food and bringing it up, they don't have an elevator for you to do so easily. Drinks were delicious (definitely recommend their frozen specials and boozy shakes) and their Oklahoma burger is my ideal smash burger. Crispy Pattie's, meaty cheese, buns are thick enough to support the toppings. Their hot dogs are big and flavorful. I'd stick to the classics here, the fried chicken sandwich is okay - really drenched in sauce unfortunately. I'd come back and maybe just do drinks upstairs, and order food to go to take home instead of running around myself as if I work here. Feel like they can afford to have a more efficient system to connect the upstairs and the downstairs - at least a food runner for your guests. My cheeseburger was okay. It wasn't the best burger I've had and it wasn't the worst. It was pretty greasy and I did have to move my fries from the grease puddle it had created. I felt like the restaurant was more on the expensive side for the value of what I was given. They give you a lot of fries in a side order and those were pretty good. The burger was pretty good and the fries were decent as well. The best part about the restaurant is the bar located on the rooftop. The outdoor seating situation is quite lovely on a cool to semi-warm day. There is a bartender who is awesome! Forgive me because I can't remember his name, but his work is unforgettable. He is making his own syrups and bitters, and he has several really unique and impressive cocktails.
