We were here on a Monday night (President's day holiday) and it was crowded. I'm glad I made a reservation through OpenTable. Once seated at a table in the middle of the dining area, I noticed it was a little stuffy. The table can seat four but I think it would be very packed with all the plates. I noticed the plate I had when I sat was dirty so I just switched it with another vacant plate. The server took away occupied silverware and plates. It felt more spacious. Focaccia bread was brought out with sun dried tomatoes dip and it was delicious!! Not tarty at all and I wish there was more of that dip because it was so good. My husband warned me that their portions were dainty so we ordered calamari appetizer (I highly recommend) and caprese salad (also good and fresh). My husband got tomato basil Alfredo fettuccini with chicken and I had Alfredo fettuccini with salmon. The salmon was cooked to perfection. I found it odd that the server asked how I liked it cooked and I elected for well done. It was so tender and buttery just melts in your mouth. The fettuccini was okay. The texture of the noodles were dumpling like maybe it's homemade but still good. I did order broccolini as a side but someone dropped the ball and that's why I had to dock a star. Overall, I think it's a romantic place to bring a date but the servers aren't too warm but still professional. My husband said there's a business event section upstairs and offers privacy. I think his only complaint was that the logistics of the "buffet" appetizers was awkward so a lot of the food went to waste. I think he mentioned more serving ware like plates and serving spoons would have been helpful. I also think the to go bag is very nice. It's like a reusable grocery bag and fairly large. It's a nice touch. I saw a lady bring her dog. I don't remember seeing an outside patio and I have a dog myself and am a dog lover. I'm not sure what that was about (is there a separate area?).

Not the best. The tomato basil fettuccine Alfredo - it was recommended as being "amazing" and the "most popular" dish.... It left a lot to be desired. The noodles were extremely over done with some noodles actually burnt. A lot of noodles were actually stuck together. The noodles were worse than if a college kid boiled store bought noodles and then forgot about them on the stove. The Alfredo sauce wasn't necessarily bad but it needed to be creamier and needed more flavor. I will say there was a lot of blackened chicken on the pasta, but again, needed more flavor. The pepperoni flatbread was ok. Extremely thin. The server told us it had the pepperoni that curls into little cups. That was false. It was regular pepperoni - which is fine!! But the flatbread overall just wasn't great. I know this is an Italian place in a shopping center in Gwinnett, but I was still disappointed.

We ordered the calamari and bruschetta for appetizers and we were asked if we wanted the free garlic knots (BIG MISTAKE) The calamari were good especially because my husband and son prefer the rings and the whole plate were rings. My mother had never had them before (we didn't tell her what they were) and she also thoroughly enjoyed them. The bruschetta was ok; it was very different than I'm used to because it had tiny mozzarella balls in it, which were nice, but seriously lacked garlic and the tomatoes were blah. The thing I like about the most were the slices of bread around the bruschetta because they were soft and crunchy in all the right places. Those garlic knots on the other hand are trouble ...the dough was so fresh and had so much flavor, I ate 2 of them and couldn't really eat my entree, but they were incredibly worth every bite! For our entrees I ordered penne alla vodka (I wish the made it with rigatoni. I thought it was ok. It seems too thick and not as good as I've had elsewhere, but maybe I was too full already because my husband thought it was very good. My husband had eggplant Parmesan which was a very nice portion and cooked perfectly. My mother had a cheese calzone which was probably the biggest and nicest cook on one I've ever seen and she really enjoyed it. My son had sausage and peppers and he really like it even though he doesn't generally like red sauce, but the sauce that came with garlic knots and calamari was all the same, and he loved it. The only thing he wasn't thrilled with was the sausage were all sliced. We all expected to have whole links, but they were thinly sliced longways. I wouldn't say I'm in a hurry to go back, but I would again and maybe get one of those calzones for myself or try pizza .

Also, the owner, Federico, came over and gave us a rundown on the specials and a little backstory on the restaurant, which was a nice added touch, considering the time. The food was absolutely great! Service: The service was just okay at best. Out of three orders, two were incorrect (both with wrong pasta that we ordered), and I had to remind the server about my cocktails when the entrées were already served. We were also celebrating a little girl's birthday, which made the experience even more disappointing. After two desserts were already brought out, I had to ask the host to bring a candle as I didn't see my server. Eventually a plate with "Happy Birthday" written on it came out, and we were told the server was "working on it," but it felt like an afterthought. The server didn't come out herself or even acknowledge the birthday, which was a letdown for a special moment. Ambience: This place is just too loud to even have a normal conversation. It's not the music that's the issue -- it's the space. The restaurant feels very small and overcrowded, with tables packed too closely together. With that many people in such a tight space, the noise level becomes overwhelming. Because of that, I definitely wouldn't recommend this place for date nights or any occasion where you actually want to talk and enjoy the moment. Food: Overall, the service felt inattentive and the food didn't stand out enough to make up for it. With so many great Italian restaurants out there, this one just didn't leave a reason for us to return.

The Second Level / Upper Floor is reserved for if you are going to be ordering/dining in for the pastas and/or savory foods. I only tried their coffee today on the first level. I did go upstairs to check it out and did see a bunch of people upstairs just sitting and chilling on their laptops with their coffees/drinks; so they may not really enforce their "reserved for pasta dining only" rule. Not sure. Ambiance (First Level / First Floor) - clean, nice, laid-back, chill, cool environment. Casual setting. Cool architecture, design, layout, and decor. Can get loud inside as ceilings are high and can get echo-y, especially if there are alot of people. Also, there is music constantly playing in background. Service (First Level / First Floor) - customer service was quick and straightforward. They were nice and polite. A+. No complaints here. Coffee (First Level / First Floor) - tried their "Korean Iced Coffee" for $7.25. It was one size only and one price at $7.25. It was delicious. Almost similar tasting to a Vietnamese coffee in my opinion (both are delicious). That strong, brewed coffee flavor with this delicious milky, sweetened condensed milk taste. I am not exactly sure if they used sweetened condensed milk in the Korean iced coffee, but it sure does taste similar to it. It's quite good. Also had a "Large Hazelnut Hot Coffee" with creamer for $5.95. It was okay. Total with tax for the two drinks was $13.99. Keep in mind that the WiFi is on your receipt as a QR Code at the bottom. So if you want to use the WiFi, ask for the receipt and/or keep the receipt so that you can scan the QR Code in order to use the WiFi. The dining room was almost empty on a Saturday afternoon. Two tables were seated. Now I understand why. We walked in and stood there. The staff stayed on their phones. Five minutes passed before anybody even looked up. No greeting. No urgency. Bad start. We ordered lasagna, chicken Alfredo, and ziti. My lasagna arrived refrigerator cold. Not warm. Cold through the center. For the price, I expected care. At minimum, heat the food and serve it properly. Chicken Alfredo lacked flavor and arrived lukewarm. The sauce tasted flat and heavy. The ziti landed in the same category. Warm at best. No punch. No freshness. Service never recovered. No check-ins. No apology for the food temperature. No effort to make the meal right. I used to recommend this place without hesitation. I cannot today. Something changed here and not for the better. Until service and food quality improve, I would spend my money elsewhere.

We got the Fettuccine Alfredo with Blackened Chicken and Angel Hair Pasta with Fra Diavolo Sauce and Sausage. With these orders, we got sides as well: rolls and Greek salad. The rolls were warm and soft and sprinkled with some parmesan cheese on top. I wish it had a garlic butter sauce on it to enhance its flavors. My Fettuccine Alfredo with Blackened Chicken was alright, the sauce needed a bit more salt or cheese as it was really plain and creamy. The blackened chicken was really good and helped make the dish taste better as it was seasoned well. My boyfriend said that his Angel Hair Pasta with Fra Diavolo Sauce and Sausage had a slight kick to it (as it is meant to be a spicy sauce). The overall portions are huge for both noodles and meat. Overall, I think this is a very average Italian restaurant. I think it is sweet that it is family owned, but there a better Italian restaurants in Atlanta.

We were greeted warmly at the door and immediately seated. Herbert, the head waiter, knew the other couple and chatted briefly with them but seemed to ignore me when I tried to enter the conversation. Herbert's wife came to the table with fresh warm Italian bread and a dipping sauce made from fresh crushed pomodoro tomatoes, Italian seasonings, and goat cheese that was beyond reproach. We ordered cocktails while Jeff and Bambi sought out an appropriate bottle of wine. Their starter was a crispy aged provolone with vine ripened tomatoes sprinkled with oregano and black pepper. Arlee and I shared a plate of fried calamari and shrimp with fried onion strips and lemon rounds. This dish, served with two dipping sauces: a Calabrian aioli and the restaurant's pomodoro sauce was tasty and the seafood crisp. We ordered our mains. Again, the waiter turned his back when I sought to ask a question and left. Our table mates had the answer to my concern. While the noise level was high, the ambiance and conviviality of this restaurant was also high. Our table was in a corner and a little more intimate as well. Bambi ordered the Lasagna which was made with a veal based meat sauce, covered with bechamel, and baked with a coating of Mozzarella and sprinkled with Parmigiano. Likewise, Jeff ordered pasta, choosing the Gnocchi made with potatoes and covered with a four-cheese Alfredo sauce and sprinkled with toasted breadcrumbs. They loved their dishes. Arlee had the Grilled Lamb Chops that were accompanied by roasted Parmigiano potatoes, and a marinade made from olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, parsley and oregano. This sauce, called Salmoriglio, comes from Sicily. I had the 'star' of the evening; a pan-roasted veal chop with risotto made with four cheeses in a mushroom sauce and topped with quartered porcini mushrooms. The chop was done perfectly and the risotto was "to die for." I don't believe that I have had better, even in Italy. As the portions were large, we declined the dessert menu and finished the meal with varied coffees. Other than the seeming lack of professionalism on the part of Herbert, the servers and other staff members all sought to satisfy our every need. This faux pas by Herbert did little to cloud what was otherwise a marvelous experience. Would we return; definitely yes. Might I ask for another waiter; possibly. However, this high-end restaurant should be experienced. It's that good.

The menu descriptions are not clear. We ordered the calamari and shrimp for our table and when it came, it was a bowl of soup. The fettucinine carbonara was really a fettucini alfredo sauce. On a good note, the best part of the meal was dessert. We had the in-house made mascarpone cheesecake with the caramel sauce. That was wonderful, and I highly recommend. The staff was very nice. I was not as impressed with the brussel sprouts. They were larger than others I have eaten, and appreciated that. The underwhelming part was the small amount of sauce that covered them. Our server was nice, but appeared to be overwhelmed at times. She was sweet and did check on our group multiple times. My selection of Spaghetti Bosco was a solid one.
