They were larger than others I have eaten, and appreciated that. The underwhelming part was the small amount of sauce that covered them. An adequate amount to cover the dish's contents would have garnished an additional star. With a large part, it would have been conducive to assign multiple servers. Our server was nice, but appeared to be overwhelmed at times. She was sweet and did check on our group multiple times. My selection of Spaghetti Bosco was a solid one. The hand made spaghetti truly had a 'garden' feel with ample mushrooms, spinach, basil and sun dried tomatoes amongst other delicious ingredients. The roasted chicken was prominent and had good flavor. The delicious wedge of bread that came with my meal was not necessary, but highly appreciated! My co-workers gluten free meat filled pizza smelled amazing and was large enough to share and have leftovers. She had selected the restaurant for our dinner and frequented often. Our group sat at several connected tables near the kitchen area. The entrance had a sports bar feel with hi-boy tables and televisions featuring various games. Security was present and provided assurance that customer safety is paramount. The parking lot was well lit and offered adequate spaces in front and the rear of Parma and surrounding businesses. After nonstop cooking the day before Thanksgiving my father and I opted to go out for a burger and a beer for dinner. We were staying in Buford and looked on line for something close and relaxed. Parma was one of the first taverns that came up. The restaurant has a combination of booth, space, high top tables, and bar seating. We chose to sit at the bar and check out the menu. The bartender was fantastic. I think his name was Mike, and he was friendly, and efficient, and brought a fun atmosphere to the bar. The banter between the bartender and the staff was hilarious and not to be missed. The menu is a combination of traditional bar food, burgers, and a few Italian dishes. I had chicken Parm, which was very good and my father had a wood fired personal pizza which was divine. The prices were good, the service was first class, and the food was delicious. We ordered on the phone for pick up thinking it was just going to be a little bar type of vibe but when we pulled up there was a whole Dj and everyone seemed to be having a great time. We were immediately helped by the security guard and the food was actually pretty good. I'd say for it to have been pasta at midnight from a tavern it def exceeded my expectations. Came here for lunch and it was a very solid choice! Good food and drinks, good service. We split calamari which we really liked. I saw some reviews mention it was a small portion and I didn't feel that way at all. I got the arugula salad which was a special and the shrimp tacos. The salad was so big that I ended up taking the tacos to go because I was already so full. Took a bite of the tacos though and it had great flavor. My husband got bolognese which was also great flavor and cooked well. We got the pistachio cannolis and absolutely loved them. We have been coming to Parma for years. Food has always been on point (with only a few hiccups over the years). Pizza, burgers, sides, apps -- all very good! The service has been consistent -- super sweet, the atmosphere is pretty good with a mixed crowd of date night couples, friend groups hanging out, and families (before 10pm or else it's a 21+ crowd!), the live entertainment, and it's fairly close by. ALL GOOD. My problem is CLEANLINESS. Our booth was right next to the counter in the back. Our vantage point allowed us to see the pizza making station. The gentleman was taking pound and pounds of bacon out of the box, made pizza, used the yucky-looking rag to wipe the counter and pizza oven, grabbed the broom and dustpan to sweep, propped up on the wall, touching tickets, handling delivery pickups, BACK to chopping bacon, and making pizzas. AND DIDNT CHANGE GLOVES. NOT ONCE. I couldn't even enjoy my food after seeing that. We never saw such food safety issues with the regular pizza guy. Our first and only visit to Parma Tavern was a great experience! However, the very reason for our visit was at the recommendation of a friend who raved over their calamari. Calamari is a menu item that is practically irresistible to me if on the menu, and we made a special trip here just to try it. THE FOOD We ordered the SPINACH & ARTICHOKE FONDUE and CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTS appetizers, EAT YOUR VEGGIES 8" Pizza and the FETTUCCINE ALFREDO with Shrimp & Italian Sausage added. My wife loved the pizza, which in itself is a miracle because she can be very particular about crust and flavor of toppings. We both loved the fondue, but wished it wasn't so oily and I really enjoyed the Alfredo (although I wished it was a little richer and creamier). My wife also liked the Brussels Sprouts but I thought they were just okay. I've had some amazing sprouts at other restaurants like The Feed in Chattanooga that included ham, bacon and maple syrup and now I'm ruined for life. FINAL THOUGHTS Parma Tavern will definitely be added to our regular rotation of restaurants in the Mall of Georgia area. I'm always please with any restaurant that satisfies both my carnivorous nature and my wife's selective veggie-loving appetite. Bravo Parma, bravo! It's a typical tavern atmosphere, super casual, dim lighting with typical tavern food like pizza, burgers, pasta and beer. The booth we sat in was not really all that comfortable. We both ordered the Italian tacos, which was chicken, cheese, and cherry tomatoes. I also ordered the Boom Boom tacos which was supposed to taste like bang bang shrimp. They were heavily breaded, and just didn't have much pizazz. The Italian tacos were even worse. I ordered a chipotle sauce, but they still tasted so bland. My boyfriend said the same thing. I can't believe that chicken is marinated, because it literally tasted like it had no seasoning whatsoever.
