Salmón Sandwich
Lisa A.

I came to local republic with my coworker whom I hadn't seen in a long time. I looked up a place that is halfway between us and this place came up in my search. I ordered the salmon sandwich with fries. The Sando was tasty but some bites were salty and the fries were extremely salty. Our waitress, Chloe, offered to order me a new batch of fries but I didn't want to sit and wait for fries. So, unfortunately I gave a star off for that and also a star off for lack of parking.

We had a fun dinner at Local Republic a couple months ago - totally by accident! We are from out-of-state and got sidetracked while heading back to our rental cabin! But dinner at Local Republic ended up being a nice ending to the day! The place was hopping, but our party of 4 was seated within just a few minutes. The server was so sweet in helping us navigate the menu. Food was delicious, and we ended up having a great time!

Lunch time was quiet and perfect for a girls lunch. Everything was fresh tasting and the seasonal menu items are a hit! So tasty!! Our server did seem a little busy as she was hosting and serving at the same time.

Squid Ink shrimp pasta

I've eaten here numerous times (always for brunch) and have always enjoyed it. This time I switched it up and went for lunch and sat outside. Service is always pleasant Drinks are always made well What was ordered: - kids chicken finger plate : it came with 3 tenders that were very small , like not a typical tender size .. kinda looked more like nuggets. This would be the only thing I noticed but other than that , I believe my son liked the meal -squid ink shrimp pasta : now this entire dish is way out of my comfort zone but I was having a hard time deciding what lunch menu to order so I just went with this since it was the special of the day. The flavor was there I just say, but the noodles itself were still hard/not cooked al dente. Other than this, it was fine but I wouldn't order it again. -crème brûlée : feel like this was way too thick and too much pudding. Most crème brûlées (if made right) are more lighter in color and texture and not as yellow or thick. For this to be made "in house" I was honestly disappointed & will never order this dessert again. Overall, I've never had a terrible experience dining here but I think I'll keep this as my brunch spot.

The service was great and the Pineapple Cider beer was refreshing!!! I tried 3 beers and that was by far the best one.

One of my fave go to lunch spots in downtown Lawrenceville! Always something I want to eat- their smashburgers are a staple, they rotate some of their entrees and I've always enjoyed them. Pimento cheese appetizer is delicious- generous servings of pimento cheese! It's got a cool vibe- today I sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. Our waiters are usually nice and knowledgeable and the cocktails use interesting ingredients and are very good!!

We had the best time visiting. The restaurant is super trendy and industrial inside. They have a downstairs and upstairs area..Both with a bar, which was really cool. We went on a Wednesday night which was whiskey Wednesday! And if you got an old fashion, whiskey sour, or a manhattan then it was $5 after 5pm. So pretty good deal! We made a little date out of it and got a meal and dessert. The burger was a good size and flavorful. I got the BBQ Burger and would get it again. I do wish the sauces came free though. I want to try all the fun fry sauces but it's .50-$1 for each. The peanut butter pie was lovely, but VERY rich! I want to go back and try the brunch too! But man, very excited about the $5 whiskey drink days :)

Our server was great! Ambiance was wonderful as usual bc we sat at the chefs table! As for the food I got the small plate chicken livers which is delicious BUT for some reason they were stingy with the sauce but my server brought more and they chopped the celery into big hunks when usually it is shaved which is much better. Had they done that I would've given 5 stars lol. Their fries are always fresh.

This is a great eats! It's on the cheaper side and the ambiance is great! Here's my opinion on it. Ambiance: industrial, speakeasy ish vibe to the place. Clean and well staffed. Service: it was a busy night so it wasn't terrible but wasn't the best (stood out) Food: pretty good. Reminds me of an upscale steak and shake. The bacon mac and cheese was superb but the mashed potatoes fell on its face. The fries were a shareable size with 3 yummy sauces. Not a bad place and would come again.'

This is a must try place located in downtown Lawrenceville, public parking available, reservations are recommended, ambience is very European style mixing the old fashioned luxury, service is great, my family spent a great time with many different drinks and plates, everything was made with professional presentation and flavors, music was nice and soft.

Yes they do have gluten free options.

Is it possible to rent out the upstairs portion for a sweet 16?

Is there a kids menu? Or any suggestions for a 4 year old (not picky at all, pretty adventurous eater for a little girl)

When we've gone (most recently about a month ago) they told us that they didn't have an explicit kid's menu but that they could do things like single-size hamburgers or chicken fingers.

Is the lunch menu and dinner menu the same?

Yes

He lives in the area(ish) and recommended Trappeze Pub as a soliding dining option that is also very close to the venue and, having had a meal there, I can now corroborate that assessment. The space is quite big which made it super easy for us to grab a table. We were seated in a section of the restaurant with a bunch of booths so it was nice to have a quieter space where we could catch up with our friend and have a nice meal. For my dish I went with the grilled cheese BLT (muenster cheese with bacon, tomato, arugula and lemon thyme vinaigrette grilled on sourdough) and fries and I quite liked it! Nothing fancy but it was good and and I would absolutely try it again. Currently rocking the sober life so I can't speak to their beer line up personally but the menu did look quite robust! And as someone not drinking I must also recommend their root beer. Great casual spot perfect for a bite, a hang, or all of the above when hanging out around town.

Tonight we made our way to The Social Goat in Covington, Georgia. Before we even get to the food,…read morethis is the kind of restaurant that has a personality all its own. Goat-themed artwork is scattered throughout the restaurant, including some fun paintings that immediately caught our attention. The atmosphere feels more like a cozy tavern than a traditional taco restaurant, with dark wood, booths, and a comfortable setting that invites you to settle in and stay awhile. One interesting piece of local history is the building itself. We learned that in 1906, this building housed an antique market. Think about that for a moment. If someone was selling antiques here in 1906, some of those "antiques" might have been from the 1800s. More than a century later, the building is still serving visitors, although these days the focus is tacos rather than antiques. Covington itself is worth mentioning. The city has become known as Georgia's Hollywood of the South, with more than 100 movies and television productions filmed here over the years. Fans of The Vampire Diaries and Sweet Magnolias will recognize many locations around town. If you're visiting the area, there is plenty to see before or after dinner. Our server for the evening was Jordan, who provided friendly service throughout the meal. The menu features eleven different taco varieties, which immediately created a dilemma. Narrowing the choices down to just three was not easy. We ultimately chose the Fried Fish Taco, the Philly Taco, and the Sesame Ribeye Taco. The tacos are available as a trio, allowing you to sample three different varieties on one platter. The meal also came with chips, salsa, and queso, making it easy to share and compare flavors. Let's start with the Fried Fish Taco because it ended up being my favorite of the three. The fish itself had excellent flavor and was cooked just right. The taco was topped with a sauce that brought a unique flavor to the experience, and the crunchy slaw added texture that worked beautifully with the fish. Every component contributed something to the overall bite. This was the taco that surprised me the most and ultimately earned the top spot in my personal ranking. The Philly Taco finished a very close second. If you're a fan of Philly cheesesteaks, you'll immediately understand the appeal. Loaded with shaved ribeye, peppers, onions, and cheese, it delivered exactly the flavors I was hoping for. It was rich, satisfying, and packed with flavor. Sometimes simple combinations work for a reason, and this taco proved that point. The Sesame Ribeye Taco was the most unique of the three. The sesame-soy flavor was bold and immediately noticeable. I enjoyed the flavor profile and appreciated that it took the taco in a different direction than what I typically experience. Rather than trying to imitate a traditional taco, it offered something distinct and memorable. Anyone looking for a creative twist on a taco will likely find this one especially interesting. One thing I appreciated about the trio platter was the opportunity to compare very different flavor profiles side by side. The Fried Fish Taco offered a balance of fish, sauce, and crunch. The Philly Taco delivered familiar comfort-food flavors. The Sesame Ribeye Taco brought a bold and unique flavor profile to the table. Each taco had its own personality, which made the comparison part of the fun. The chips were crisp, the salsa was fresh, and the queso provided a nice complement to the tacos. Combined with the trio platter, it was more than enough food for a satisfying meal. The Social Goat manages to be more than just a taco stop. Between the historic building, the goat-themed decor, the welcoming tavern atmosphere, and a menu filled with creative options, it offers an experience that stands out from the typical restaurant visit. If we return, and there is a good chance we will, there are still eight taco varieties left for us to investigate. The Social Goat Tavern 1115 Church Street Covington, GA 30014

Fried pickles that were perfectly seasoned, pimento cheese Rangoon that had a very unique flavor and delicious dipping sauce, our friends enjoyed bacon wrapped dates. We also tried the duck confit chorizo egg rolls. I didn't taste the chorizo, but the egg rolls had a fantastic flavor. I had hush puppy coated fried red fish over smoked Gouda grits. It was so good. My wife and one of our friends had the chicken special. So many flavors. The final dish at the table was the short ribs that were, again, seasoned perfectly. The only challenge was how loud it was in the restaurant. When we arrived, there weren't many people in the restaurant but, as the place filled up, it became impossible to carry on a conversation. However, the service was great and the food was interesting and flavorful. Definitely recommend!

The inside has a very cool old school building feel while being trendy at the same time. It's quite a large place with two sides and outdoor seating plus restrooms on each side. The appetizers and main dishes that we have had so far are all fantastic. The fish and chips are some of the best I've had. The fish isn't overly breaded and greasy like some other places. Our son loves the fried green bean appetizer but eats most of it himself so we hardly ever get to enjoy it. Once again the breading is light resembling a panko type crust so you aren't just eating deep fried objects. We've tried numerous other appetizers and so far nothing has been a let down. If you're looking for a good menu with quality food and drink options (they have a full bar) then this is it. Cool setting. Easy to get to. Great food. Friendly staff.
