What a find for those who are from out -of- town! Located downtown, in historic building, sandwiched between other eateries. There are several dining areas situated up and down stairs. There's also a balcony for al fresco dining. Cute, cozy brick interior. As for the food....YUM, YUM, YUM. We had the smash burgers. Believe me when I say the Celine Dijon was outstanding!!! Sounds strange but the crispy friend cheese was unique and with bacon jam.....Home run. Would come back just for that. Mr. Egon was good,but didn't compare to Celine. Handcut fries were plentiful but thought were overly seasoned. Dipping sauce was .75 extra. We shared the generous slice of whipped peanut butter pie, drizzled with fudge. Would have preferred whipped cream. My preference. Drinks were not strong. Orders were served with that sweet southern hospitality. Highly recommend reservations for weekend. Nice casual lunch place with a good variety on their lunch menu and good desserts. Indoor and outdoor seating. Food: We tried the jambalaya that was a seasonal special and one of their hamburgers. Both were tasty. Food was hot and fried we're good -if you like fries with the potato peel still on . We have had their Reuben previously and preferred standard kraut or coleslaw over their pickled cabbage. Portion sizes are moderate. Service -Server was polite, friendly, and efficient. Facility -old but well kept-noisy inside; the upstairs is better but still noisy during busy hours. Outside seating is umbrella-covered and is next to a busy city street -so traffic noise interrupts conversations periodically. Bathrooms are clean onesies. I came to local republic with my coworker whom I hadn't seen in a long time. I looked up a place that is halfway between us and this place came up in my search. I ordered the salmon sandwich with fries. The Sando was tasty but some bites were salty and the fries were extremely salty. Our waitress, Chloe, offered to order me a new batch of fries but I didn't want to sit and wait for fries. I placed three orders with the restaurant using three different credit cards, but the same name. I get a credit from multiple credit cards and wanted to use them before they expired. Why is it that when I picked up the orders all three were bagged together. Now, why would the restaurant do this when each order was placed online separately. I've eaten here numerous times (always for brunch) and have always enjoyed it. This time I switched it up and went for lunch and sat outside. Service is always pleasant Drinks are always made well What was ordered: - kids chicken finger plate : it came with 3 tenders that were very small , like not a typical tender size .. kinda looked more like nuggets. This would be the only thing I noticed but other than that , I believe my son liked the meal -squid ink shrimp pasta : now this entire dish is way out of my comfort zone but I was having a hard time deciding what lunch menu to order so I just went with this since it was the special of the day. The flavor was there I just say, but the noodles itself were still hard/not cooked al dente. Other than this, it was fine but I wouldn't order it again. -crème brûlée : feel like this was way too thick and too much pudding. Most crème brûlées (if made right) are more lighter in color and texture and not as yellow or thick. For this to be made "in house" I was honestly disappointed & will never order this dessert again. Overall, I've never had a terrible experience dining here but I think I'll keep this as my brunch spot. read more

One of my fave go to lunch spots in downtown Lawrenceville! Always something I want to eat- their smashburgers are a staple, they rotate some of their entrees and I've always enjoyed them. We had the best time visiting. The restaurant is super trendy and industrial inside. They have a downstairs and upstairs area..Both with a bar, which was really cool. We went on a Wednesday night which was whiskey Wednesday! And if you got an old fashion, whiskey sour, or a manhattan then it was $5 after 5pm. So pretty good deal! We made a little date out of it and got a meal and dessert. The burger was a good size and flavorful. I got the BBQ Burger and would get it again. I do wish the sauces came free though. The restaurant has a dog water bowl for the dogs. OK...cute. THEN...I see the server bring the refilled dog bowl out...with his bare hands...thumb in the bowl that several dogs have been licking. My friend and I decided to pop in and grab a drink here. Not sure if it was something about us or our casual wear but when we walked to the bar the bartender - I believe his name was Mikey - was extremely rude. He took about 10 min to even come to take our orders. He then condescendingly said he didn't have Coke Zero or Tito's when it could have been stated in a much more respectful manner. Both me and my friend have worked in the industry and would have appreciated a warmer welcome especially considering the upscale establishment. I will NEVER return to such an establishment that treats customers like this. The wine is very great and their appetizer didn't make the cut because we ate it in less than 10 minutes. I'm not a huge fan of pimento cheese but it was amazing and perfect for what we wanted. My coworkers and I came here for lunch last week and this was probably some of the most delicious American/Variety food that i've had lately! I ordered the Fried Chicken Sandwich and my coworkers got the Smash Republic Burger and Jerk BBQ Smoked Wings. I didn't get to try their dishes, but the food looked amazing. I think the presentation definitely was just as great as the flavor. I rarely finish my food, but I ate the entire sandwich. The chicken was flavorful and crispy. I also really enjoyed my creamy Gouda Bacon Mac & Cheese! The service here was unfortunately a bit slow for my liking, at one point we were going to have to go grab the server because it was taking so long. Plus, this was during the day, so I expected quicker service. This place can be great for any occasion, I think the ambience downstairs vs. upstairs is great for something more sultry or something more casual! They also have outdoor space upstairs and downstairs! I'll definitely be back here to try some more menu items! read more

We came here on a Saturday evening around 7pm and there was only about a ten minute wait for a table for two. It's possible to walk past this restaurant thinking it's attached to the Mexican spot next to it or McRay's Tavern but that could be because of all the construction going on around it. The host and hostess stationed outside were very nice but seemed a little unsure about the info they were telling us which made us a little confused but eventually they were able to tell us how long until we'd get our table. The inside of the restaurant is very cute and modern. If you're seated by the entrance like we were, it can feel a little crowded but everywhere else was pretty spacious and they had a cool upstairs area. The menu was a little weird in terms of the mix of ingredients in their meals but they did mention they were in the process of changing the menu in the next week so I don't want to judge them too hard on that. But, because of that change, they were very limited on the meals they had available. So we settled for two beers and some fries and chicken wings. The bbq chicken wings were very good! 10/10 for sure. Our waitress was rude. Maybe she was overwhelmed with how many customers she had or something... i don't know, but when we were asking questions about the menu she was basically rushing us to make a decision and would start walking away while we were still talking. Also, when we handed her the card to check out, instead of handing it back to my boyfriend (even though his hand was out to receive it) she threw it down on the table and walked away. I liked out waiter, sadly I did not get his name. He walked us through the special of the days which included a pasta with 4 cheese sauce topped with grilled chicken. The pasta were cooked perfectly. The cheese sauce was exploding in my mouth. The grilled chicken were also on point and not overcooked. Food arrived at a reasonable amount of time. Our first time eating here. I made a reservation for a late lunch using Resy. The host welcoming and friendly as was our waiter. The Dr. Egon burger was huge and delicious. My husband ordered the Reuben and said it was really tasty and we both brought half of our burger/sandwich home for another meal. The fries could have been better but we didn't ask for a fresher batch so that was on us. The restaurant has a nice ambiance and seems to be a popular spot in the nicely preserved and vibrant downtown square.
