The menu has a wide variety of choices, so there's something for everyone. We ordered breakfast and it was absolutely delicious--fresh, flavorful, and satisfying with ample portions. We had been here once during Covid and it didn't make a huge impression on us back then, but we're so glad we decided to give it another try. This is a great small diner. Went in around lunchtime on Tuesday. I know it's not the busiest time, but we were seated immediately. Someone came to get our order and drinks, almost too fast! The menu has plenty of selections. It has a Greek salad to die for. The dressing is absolutely excellent. Everyone was polite and there was lots to eat. I got a patty melt with a Greek salad side and both of them were delicious. Had to take half of the sandwich home as it was very large. Well, I didn't get any of the goodies in the dessert counter. Wanted to grab some breakfast and we stumbled upon this spot while we were in the area. It was divine. Cute spot, inside and out. We ordered the biscuits and gravy and the Denver omelette, plus coffee of course. Coffee normally in diners tastes mediocre but this coffee they served was so good. You can actually taste the coffee if you know what I mean and it didn't taste watered down. I normally don't like biscuits but their biscuits were the best I've ever tasted; so buttery and soft. Service was amazing, food came out quickly and fresh. Staff were respectful and professional, very attentive. Place is great for small or large groups. Our son recommended Duluth Diner for lunch. Food did not disappoint. Everything was served hot (and quickly) and was fresh. I can't remember having such a good dill pickle in years. Burger was 8oz so I had two meals, fries were generous and all the condiments were offered. It was family oriented but not loud or too active. Just a fair number of families enjoying their meal. My son & I randomly chose to try them out, we really like diners. We were not disappointed. We arrived very close to closing (our error, hadn't checked their times). We were greeted warmly, took our apps & drinks order & told kitchen was closing soon but no rush at all as how long we could stay & eat our food. I was pleasantly impressed on how fresh, tasty & hot everything was considering they were almost closed, no slacking, no attitude, wonderful experience. Beyond Racist - I Was Treated Like a Criminal for Existing If I could give **Duluth Diner** zero stars, I would. What happened to me here was not just bad service -- it was **blatant, disgusting racism**. I came in with my group -- the **only Black people in the entire restaurant** -- and immediately noticed the cold, dismissive treatment. It took **30 minutes just to get 3 drinks**, while other tables (who came after us) were being served full meals. Then we waited **another 30 minutes for food that never came. Not a word. Not a check-in. Nothing.** Just ignored, like we didn't belong there. And then it got worse. When I refused to pay for the food I NEVER RECEIVED, they **called the police on me** -- yes, you read that right -- and **tried to have a warrant put out for my arrest.** Over food that never left the kitchen. I had to **pay for meals that I never even saw**, just to avoid being taken away in handcuffs for *Daring To Speak Up.* This was **not** a misunderstanding. This was **racially targeted harassment**. I have never felt so humiliated, dehumanized, and enraged at a business in my life. If you're Black, or any minority for that matter, **avoid this place at all costs.** They don't want you there, and they'll make that known -- even if it means calling the cops on you for trying to stand up for yourself. I came here to meet up with my cousins I had not seen in awhile. I ordered a chopped steak with baked potato and mixed steamed veggies. The food was delicious and hot ! We had a group of 15 that we made reservations for prior to our visit. The servers went up and beyond to accommodate our group and keep the orders correct. They were on point and friendly ! In my opinion, management does not care at all about customers. Twice I've asked for a management response to concerns I had and they never responded. Their menu prices are high enough that they should be able to meet small request without additional charges. For example, if you want gravy on your mashed potatoes it cost a dollar, if you want extra salad dressing it cost a dollar, want croutons on your salad another dollar, if you want dinner rolls they are a dollar each if they are not specifically mentioned as included with the meal on the menu. Even when dinner rolls are included on the menu, they are not brought with the food unless requested. When requested, dinner rolls sometimes aren't brought to the table until the meal is almost completed. We have tried several items on the menu and only found two or three that we liked, others we felt were not that good and were over priced read more

Great Breakfast. Was out running errands and decided to check this place out. I had heard it was good. They were correct. When we walked in the door the place smelled fantastic. Bring an appetite though because the portions were huge and really good. I had pancakes and eggs. Partner had chicken fried steak and eggs. Didn't realize they also came with sausage, bacon, fried potatoes and biscuit. It all tasted great and the prices were very reasonable. We definitely have found our new favorite breakfast place. Easy to get a table, broad menu selections, nice staff. I've lived in Duluth for a long time and for some reason I forget about this place. I came here for breakfast and was really looking g forward to my meal. My only complaint was my omelet was way over done. It was brown and dry, next time I'll ask for it to be less cooked. The dietary requirements from my parents gets harder and harder to satisfy when it comes to breakfast spots, but luckily this place hits all the right spots and have surprised them and me on how good this place is. I've been here three times as of the time of me writing this review, so I believe I can give a pretty good idea of what type of place and your experience. This place is pretty busy during the weekends during the morning. The first time we came here we had a group of about 10 people, and the service was pretty amazing. We had one waiter, and she pretty much took care of all of us. The second time it was 4 people and a different waiter, she seemed new but she handled it pretty well. My most recent visit was also different and he had his stuff on lock. I ordered omelettes, well because breakfast. I tried the Philly Cheese Omelette and the second and third visit I stuck with the Athenian omelette because I was craving for a gyro, but in breakfast form. The winner here was definitely the Athenian and I think I found my go to dish if I come here for breakfast. As typical, the diner has a wide variety of menu items. Which is absolutely great, and I believe you can order whatever you want and whenever you want. Overall, I know I'll be definitely coming back here because my parents will be wanting to come here when they come down to visit for the morning breakfasts. That will give me the chance to try out different other options that they have on the menu and I'm sure we'll be come regulars here. I'm pretty sure they just boiled all of the water (and happiness) out of some milk, and called it a day. He seemed genuinely flummoxed by my complete lack of enthusiasm for his explanation of how they take normal water, and turn it into something thicker, but just as lackluster. Hard to say anything bad about this place, so I'll go with 4 stars for the overall experience. They do nothing wrong, but it feels like everything is very standard. The fries are square, the pancakes are round, they put the right amount of meat in every dish and everything is fine. Unfortunately nothing stood out in terms of food. We got a sausage omelette which was very standard, chicken salad, chocolate pancakes, Phillips cheesesteak, and a club sandwich to go. It's all very standard, not too good, nothing bad, prototypical diner which is hard to accomplish in my opinion, but overall the experience and food was good and we had nothing to complain about, I think they might want to strive for a signature dish to make them stand out or do something different, but hey, I'm not a restaurant owner and they are doing fine, so it's all good. read more

I think I'm stretching here with the three stars. Overpriced, just ok food. I had the Carribean Monte Christo sandwich which wasn't bad but for $11.75, definitely overpriced. It was more of a wrap that was deep fried. Interesting idea. The mayonnaise came on the side which made it hard to do anything but dip it, which you don't want to do with mayonnaise. They charged me an extra $1.50 to trade out my French fries for a salad. The salad was pretty sorry. Iceberg lettuce, one small pepperocini, one slice of cucumber, one wedge of tomorrow, two small onion slices and dressing. Pretty disappointing.
