The waiter was okay until he found out I did not like my dish. I advised him of same and he replied that I had to pay whether I liked the food or not and went to great lengths at explaining why. The resolve, after his lengthy explanation and his frustration, was for me to pay half the bill in which I said was fine. I remained calm throughout his explanation as I noticed it could have easily gone really wrong based on his tone. Moving forward, I received a notification from my card on today, that this establishment not only canceled my original transaction, but readjusted the payment and included a 31% tip (insane practice) I contacted my bank to report the unauthorized transaction and they definitely advised that the establishment made an adjustment. Please keep your receipts and pay VERY close attention to the method of payment you use at this particular diner, especially if you have a valid customer discrepancy with these folks. When you don't really know what you're in the mood for, you select a Diner for dinner! Duluth Diner, is up the street from my house. It's located on peachtree industrial right next to a medical center. Upon entering the Diner, we were immediately greeted and we were able to sit where ever we wanted. We selected a booth. The Diner was very clean and every table had a few condiments along with utensils. Our waitress came by shortly to take our orders. The decision was tough because they had sooooooo many choices. We decided to grab breakfast. I ordered the pancake combo- it comes with two pancakes, potato hash, bacon or sausage, two eggs cooked anyway and toast or pita or even a biscuit! This only cost 10.50$ and the portions are huge! I also ordered the kids menu, popcorn shrimp and that portion was big as well! My bf got a Spanish omelette and it looked divine We were one of three couples in the entire Diner. The Tvs were on and 80's music played in the background. It only took about 15 minutes before our food came out of the kitchen piping hot. Our server was quiet and polite. She was very busy cleaning the Diner, while she waited on us. The food itself was yummy but nothing out of the ordinary but definitely worth coming back. The service itself was prompt and we had no issues. The way they give the check is a little odd though. Similar to the way Waffle House does theirs however there wasn't a total at the end- so we were a bit confused. The prices were not bad considering all of the food that was on the table. If you're looking for a great local restaurant that caters to many cravings, this is definitely your place! They have it all: international dishes, an extensive dessert list and breakfast galore. Nothing crazy. Your typical local diner. I ordered pancakes and bacon with a side of fries. Pancakes were really crumbly, literally disintegrated each time I tried to cut a piece. The manager on staff was arguing with one of the waitresses loud enough for patrons to hear. She was trying to diffuse the situation and kept telling him to forget about it (whatever it is that they were arguing about) but he was adamant about making his point across which was awkward af for the few patrons nearby including myself. We ate at the Duluth Diner for dinner last night. The service was adequate. The food was horrible, truly. My husband ordered cream of mushroom soup, laden with either flour or cornstarch to thicken. His chicken marsala was tasteless. I ordered an open faced grilled cheese which consisted of burnt toasted white bread, one slice of tomato and one slice of orange cheese distributed over two slices of bread with overdone bacon. I ate the slice of tomato and called it quits. My son ordered the fried shrimp which were so greasy he left all but two of them. This morning he woke up with terrible diarrhea and stomach cramps. We ordered a slice of red velvet cake which we brought home to eat. It is imported from the Alpine Bakery is delicious. We ate here ten years ago when we first moved to the area and never returned until last night. It will be our last meal there. read more

I ordered eggplant parmigiana for delivery as advertised online, pressed checkout, and online site stalled for many minutes. I called. No delivery they said, try pickup. I closed the page and ordered pickup. That worked. I was charged twice. I called. Too late they said -- not their fault that I don't know how to use the system. So I'm stuck. I'll call the manager but i figure I'm just stuck with no refund and an extra dinner. They had all my info, name, phone, credit card number on file already because we were regular customers for over ten years. As soon as you walk in, there is someone's table and the host station is to your left. It is very crammed and when they are busy you'll have to excuse yourself from bumping into people. It was a bit of a wait for our food, but understandable with the wait. We ordered the breakfast special and a patty melt. The food was cooked perfectly and was pretty good. Although after our server took our order and gave us our food she never once came back and checked in on us. She would walk by look down at our food and walk away...this happened 3-4 times. I have to update this review, as I recently found myself at Duluth Diner not once, but twice. We only ended up here because Egg Harbor had an hour wait on a Sunday morning and neither of us could stomach that, but I'm so glad it worked out. DD is close to home, so it's officially going into my book of breakfast places. That breakfast - delicious! I had an omelet and the fella had the french toast with strawberries - mind you, those bitches were real cut up berries, not that scary strawberry compote-wanna-be crap you often get as a fruit topping. He was pleased. We went back last Saturday for lunch when the fella was sick and i was trying to feed him. I figured this to be a good choice because the menu is so huge and there wouldn't be a problem finding something we both wanted. I had the gyro plate and he had the chicken fried stead. Gyro plate? Shit, man! I didn't expect it to be that good, but when the fella asked me how it was I responded with "I'll be getting this to go at least once a week in the future." Ok, maybe not once a week, but it was surprisingly good. Remember - this is a diner. Expectations were low and thus exceeded. We come here as our go-to place when we can't all agree on something. There is something for everyone. And we have yet to have a meal that wasn't tasty. My favorites are the Caribbean monte Cristo sandwich and the Chicken Duluth. Both scrumptious. Prices are great and since everyone can find what they want it's nice place to bring family. They do breakfast well, seafood well, Greek well, and oh man does their bakery rock. They order their cakes from somewhere I believe. You must try the "million dollar cake" with a friend or 3. Eggs, bacon, sausage, grits and toast. Instead of pancakes I got a waffle. NEVER DID GET THE GRITS! EVERYTHING WAS EITHER COLD OR LUKE WARM, SO I SENT MOST OF IT BACK, including the COLD-ASS Waffle! (an approx $7.00 UPCHARGE). 3. What I got back was the ORIGINAL waffle just a little darker and reheated. C'mon Guy!! The food cost for the waffle/pancake mix is $.50 or less!!! MAKE ANOTHER FUCKING WAFFLE!! 4. Upon seeing this, I was done. Time to leave. Duluth Diner should know better than to reheat food that has been returned. Instead the food should have been thrown away and a NEW item should have been prepared!! Duluth diner owners/managers know not to do this type of crap to its patrons. 5. When asking for my check the server asks the manager on duty how much to charge me. It was $12.00 for 3 pieces of bacon and 2 eggs! NEVER got my grits or the waffle! The GRITS WERE OFFERED TO ME "TO GO"!!! *Wrong again sir! 6. At this point I AM HIGHLY-INSULTED and ready to leave! I asked myself, would they have done this to me if I were a white male? 7.
