Bahama Breeze used to be the new and hip place to go to back in the 90s. Fast forward to today and it's now your average overpriced restaurant. We had dropped in here a few years back as a team outing. I was pleasantly amused to dip back into nostalgia but that's about it. I did enjoy the openness and layout of this place! My cousin was staying at the Sonesta across the street, and we needed a quick last-minute bite. We had a decent time, but the service was pretty bad. We waited forever for drinks, and the waiter disappeared twice. My steak came out well done even though I asked for medium. I left an $8 tip for my meal to reflect the experience, and the waiter definitely showed he noticed, in his body language. There were other hiccups too, but honestly, is it bad that I wasn't surprised? They really need to tighten up the service. I went on July 11th 2025 after work with coworkers. Casual Caribbean dining. We sat outside near the band that was playing. You could dance if you wanted to. I sat at inside table waiting for me party to arrive. Once they did we were moved to the outside table. This caused some confusion because the table already had glasses of water on it. Apparently, this signals to the staff that we were already being taken care of. However, this wasn't so. So, we sat approximately 10-15 mins before we called someone to help us. The waiter was very apologetic and then explained what had happened. The vibe is very cool and relaxing. Dining while listening to the live band was very nice and the 2 man band was very good as well. The food was very good and satisfying. I had the coconut shrimp and yuca cheese sticks. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. My mom and I came here after getting my car serviced for some dinner. There's ample amount of free parking which I love. The ambiance is perfect. It makes me feel like out on the beach with the sand between my toes. We got the beef empanadas and coconut shrimp to start. They were both great! I got the jerk shrimp pasta and my mom got the tequila glazed salmon for our entrees. For dessert we shared the flaming rum cake which was tasty. All of our food was great, hot, and delicious. What's island time without libations? Bahamarita for me and an ultimate margarita for my date it is! All of the food was tasty, especially the crab and cheese dip. So we wanted to get Bahama Breeze one more time before they closed. We enjoy their food and drinks, however for this to be our last experience with them it was very horrible. Our waitress was extremely slow and never checked in on us. We probably waited 45-55 mins for just our drinks to come out. The waiter on the other side of the room was super fast and efficient, they checked in on all their tables and those people got their food and drinks way quicker. Rizzoly (our waitress) was nice but she did a horrible job! And we ordered a dessert to go, which she said we could get for free but it never came. We just decided to leave at that point. Also one of the ladies yelled at my husband because he was trying to see about getting our dessert that we had been waiting on. So overall we wasted a lot of time here. Again the food is good but this was by far one of the worst experiences we have had at a restaurant. The Cuban tasted weird at first but was okay by the time I finished it. The Seafood chowder was delicious, I'd highly recommend that. Service was spotty, waitress disappeared and I had to walk over and ask someone else for more iced tea, and the hot water we ordered and never arrived. Expect little and you won't be disappointed. Bahama Breeze is a great choice for an Island Escape. I am a sucker for their Pineapple Bowl - which they offer in both Chicken and Shrimp options. Their bowls offer a great ratio of protein, rice, pineapple chunks, and jerk sauce (MY FAVE). The location offers interior and exterior seating. They also offer reservations on their app, as well as a great happy hour that discounts their amazing appetizers. This place can get busy depending on when you arrive, but every time I've been here, the service is still great. The exterior parking is partially shared with other eateries in the shopping center, but there is still plenty to go around. On this visit I arrived during happy hour and grabbed a few appetizers prior to my meal. The crab dip is a great starter and awesome for sharing. We celebrated my step dad's birthday and it was a very smooth experience for almost 30 people. Our servers were so great and attentive and didn't forget anything. All our food was served hot and that was much appreciated. To make it even sweeter, my Nephew and Sister were given ice cream treats for their Birthday. Went out on a Friday night with friends for happy hour which was from 4-6pm. It was not crowded at all. We had the option of sitting outside on the covered patio which also has a fire place which was nice. Because the chairs outside were patio chairs we decided to dine inside in a comfortable booth. The first booth we sat in was dirty so we changed seats. Our server was friendly and explained everything on the menu including the specials. For Happy Hour almost all the appetizers are half off. Drinks are NOT included in Happy Hour at all, which was a bummer. I was surprised that I could really taste the crab in crab and cheese dip- it was good. The Guava Goose Cosmo was very good. The drinks were watered down and not exactly frozen. We ordered two clam chowders that were more grease than it was clam chowder. The conch fritters were hush puppies in disguise. The empanadas were delicious. If you decide to sit on the patio, best believe you will get ignored. There were more staff than patrons and the staff engage with their phone or each other than the actual patrons. Bahama breeze to go ! Just ordered my food to go and it was great i love when my online orders get fulfilled properly no mistakes and the food was great . We had a a few good picks tonight we tried some new things on the menu. First we tried the new crab and three cheese dip for Or appetizer and it was good we give it a 6/10 for taste very cheesy and it came with chips. Secondly we tired 3 different entrees the coconut shrimp which is always a hit specially if you like shrimp , the top sirloin and coconut shrimp but we were not of fan of the sirloin , it was kinda dry hence i guess because we asked for it well done and last but not least we tried the lobster and shrimp linguine which i was also not a fan of i guess because it was kinda dry an it had way to many mushrooms which i must of missed the part where it said mushrooms was in it. Other then that the actual final part of our order was the desert which we tried the pineapple cheesecake empanadas they weee nice an warm. I also saw a few ambiance decorations for carnival wear i forgot to take a picture but they have carnival outfits available for purchase that they were advertising in the restaurant. Bahama Breeze is the absolute staple for Duluth GA, that brings not only great food, a Caribbean feel and great vibes but regulars that keep coming back and have become family since I've moved here! Mr Curtis and Amanda are by far my favorite managers with their rays of sunshine , work excellence and great conversation every time I come, greeting their guests and treating them like a VIP every single time. I would recommend this place to anyone. Next time you go get the jerk chicken pasta, extra parm with a martini and for an extra perk Friday and Sats evenings their live band is present!!! read more
