Watching people get their food all around me is frustrating. 40 minutes later my food comes out and it's missing brisket which is the very thing they told me took so long to make. Lol. read more

Breakfast place in the lobby of the Stratler (Hilton hotel). It has what you expect in breakfast options, and the open kitchen concept lets you admire the cook's work. The one that was there today seemed to enjoy his work and it shows. The food came out presented very well and tasted good. Where this place loses my patronage and stars was the service. I stood around at the "host stand" which was just a sign that said "wait here to be seated" for about 5 minutes before one of the servers standing around finally came up to me and asked "Can I help you?"....huh? yes...yes you can...you can point me towards a seat. As we go in, I can't help but notice the place is empty aside from 2 tables and 1 guy at the bar who is on his laptop. No reason for the delay to be sat. The food is places on a table in the middle once the cook is done (as I mentioned it is open concept kitchen), and a server will come by to pick it up and deliver it. Since I was likely the only person to order anything, and the food looked like what I ordered, I saw it just sitting there with no one paying attention. I began to look around for my server and saw him in conversation with another server just having a laugh. I think they noticed me look around for something, so they broke off and my server came up to me and asked me if I needed something. I pointed at the food and said, "yes, my food". He went over, looked at the ticket to verify it was mine (again, no way anyone else ordered something here) and then brought it over unapologetic for it sitting there until I got their attention. Food was well made, tasted good. You can't really mess up eggs, bacon and toast. The bacon was thick cut and flavorful. 4 star food 2 star service read more

We just had the worst service imaginable. Our server, Devon, was extremely rude. The food was meh, and the amount fees tacked onto the check was unreal! Skip this one--nothing about it was Overeasy. Overly hard for our waitress to even split the checks. Not a way to start the day. It's aesthetically pleasing unless you're eating. read more

I really have enjoyed my breakfasts at this restaurant. I have been getting the eggs and bacon. The best part of the meal is the fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. Coffee is good and the service is excellent. I would give this place 5 stars if they had oatmeal on the menu. read more

Lucky enough to have wandered into Overeasy during its very soft opening I was immediately enchanted. As a proud breakfast lover and possibly enthusiast I loved their menu and cheerful yet non-tacky interiors. I was drawn to the legend of Graham Dodd's biscuits and got the ham and egg biscuit with literally no regrets. While sitting at the kitchen bar I gazed at the dishes being prepared by the line with hunger and enjoyment. They were a great team while they got their land legs during such a trying time for a brand new restaurant. There are so many other dishes I want to sink my teeth into and know that I will but I still think back to that perfectly satisfying open-face breakfast on a biscuit. Although I wish they were using a local coffee roaster I'm glad to see them taking some pride in their coffee equipment and menu. It's refreshing. read more

Wow! Really loved this place! Went in for brunch on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy, but we found a couple of seats at the bar. We were greeted promptly and we quickly ordered. From our seat at the bar we were able to watch chef Graham Dodds at work and it was fascinating. Watching him give orders, check plates, and manage his kitchen could even have been considered brunch and a show! All of the plates coming out of the kitchen looked amazing and with each dish I saw, my FOMO level crept a little higher. I ordered a cappuccino with coconut milk and it was just right. My "The Perfect Omelette" was just that. Perfect. You should be able to tell from the photo. I regret not ordering bacon or sausage as a side, but I'm sure I will be returning to try it out. read more

This is s great breakfast place right in the heart of downtown Dallas. You can see the chefs busily working on their beautiful eggs in a spotless kitchen. Great breakfast cocktails!! Friendly service! Beautiful Tasty food? Deviled eggs are a win! Little perfect bites of flavor I had the sausage biscuits...possibly the best breakfast sausage I've ever eaten...on homemade biscuits. The banana split is like a very fresh fruit salad...don't make the mistake of passing on the cherry...yummy. read more

Was visiting Dallas this weekend and since this place was at our hotel, we decided to stop here for breakfast before touring the area. After a 20 minute wait for a table (when there were a few empty tables visible), and dealing with a flaky hostess, we were seated and ordered. Waited nearly an hour to get our food (a simple order of scrambled eggs and sausage). The waitress kept telling us they were busy, but it would be ready soon. Once we finally received our order, it was cold, which makes me think it was sitting around for a while and the waitress forgot about it. Unfortunately we were pressed for time due to the extensive wait, so we couldn't even send it back. (Yummy, ice cold sausage!) To top it off, our waitress had a second waitress helping her and she was literally the most miserable person alive. When one member of our party showed her our hotel wristband, confirming the discount we had for our order, the waitress rolled her eyes, gave us a dirty look and stomped off. Plain and simple, if you don't like your job, maybe you should find something else to go into. That being said...the place could've been good if they were more organized and had better customer service. read more

My family & I came here for the first time before the Dallas Christmas Parade! Our server was so friendly & helpful and they even let us sit at our table for the parade. Food was good. 4 star instead of 5 because they didn't have any gf bread or pasty options... and to be honest, I didn't love their latte. read more

This review is for Sunday brunch menu. First of all, our waitress Ms Red is a gem, ever so helpful, friendly, went out of her ways to ensure we had a good meal. She brought us extra condiments, came to our table frequently to check on us & had a sense of humor! The coffee here is genuine, I mean the real thing. For that, I'm already a happy camper. Secondly, the biscuits is to die for! Moist, crispy on the outside & paired with the raspberry preserves is all I needed to leave happy. I will come back just to have biscuits here. The beef hash was pretty good too, tender chunks of beef. Chicken tender biscuit was a tad too dry for me so they brought me some gravy & that went perfectly well. Parking here is valet $5 an hour but if you inform the front desk person, they can validate & give you a discount if u park more than an hour . Had to come by to try out breakfast after hearing mixed reviews so I could see for myself. Stopped in on a Sunday morning with my best friend and we were both happy we did. Even though we arrived at 10 a.m. our wait was only about 15 minutes. They will take your name and number to notify you when your table is ready. There is an area where you can wait or eat your to-go orders up front with a few tables and a long booth. I did think $4.50 was a little much for just plain brewed coffee so I got a cappuccino w/simple syrup and she had a latte w/vanilla. I was very pleased with the syrup to coffee ratio. It was just a hint of sweetness to take the bitterness away from the espresso without taking away the actual taste of the coffee. I would love to see french press service offered here in the future. I ordered "The Easy Living" plate that comes with 2 eggs any style, sausage or bacon (it comes w/two pieces so I tried one of each), 2 hash bombs and choice of toast. The eggs were a little more wet than I would have liked but still good, nothing fancy. I'm glad I tried one of each meat because even though I'm typically a bacon kind of girl it was more crisp than I like; my fiance would have said it was perfect though. The sausage however was very good! The hash bombs, which are just hash browns with what tasted like green onions maybe deep fried, were good, not overpowering. I opted to pay the extra dollar and get a biscuit instead of toast and it was delightful, especially with the preserves. I think it was maybe a strawberry/raspberry mix, not overly sweet and just a little tart. I believe this plate offers the best bang for your buck and gives you the option to try a little bit of everything. My friend had the shaved honey ham biscuits and was nice enough to share a bite with me. I skipped out on the eggs because I'm not a huge fan of runny yolks but they looked like they were cooked perfectly with a dash of maybe paprika on top. The biscuit and ham was a definite comfort food reminding me of the day after Christmas when you incorporate the left over ham into just about every meal you have that day. Not overly sweet, just a bit of cinnamon flavor, so good! Even though the plate looks like it's not a lot since it doesn't come with any sides she said she was surprisingly full at the end of her meal. The service was great, our server was very helpful and friendly. The wait for our coffee was a little long but I feel that's to be expected on a weekend morning. The prices were a little more than I'd normally pay for breakfast but not outrageous especially for the food being so good as well as the ambiance of the restaurant as well. Can't wait to come back and try "The perfect omelette" soon. read more

Easily the best downtown brunch spot which I have on good authority since I live in DT Dallas and brunch is my favorite meal lol. Not only does it have the cutest mural and decor but the food was outstanding. I highly recommend getting the ricotta pancakes because I promise you you will not be disappointed and I'm particular about my ricotta pancakes. If you're not the sweet tooth type they have amazing chicken and biscuits as well. Food and lattes are also easily photographable because their presentation is just as cute as the decor! read more

What a treat for Sunday Brunch. I started with a vanilla latte at their coffee bar had forced myself to resist the beautiful pastries they were showcasing. Overeasy is a nice breakfast spot with a morning cafe feel. There is a bar to sit at or tables set in a clean contemporary space. The servings were on the small size compared to the price. Despite the price, my food was very good. The brisket hash has a subtle complexity to it with a very small hint of tabasco flavor. The brisket, potatoes, and egg all worked together in harmony. I ordered pancakes to follow. This was my first time having fluffy pancakes. I could tell the egg whites were whipped and this offered something different. I am used to my pancakes being dense, thick, and hearty. This is the place to go for a light easy meal. read more

Love. Came here for Sunday brunch and it was great! Definitely get the fried macaroni and cheese. We got this as an appetizer and SO.GOOD. The steak and eggs are probably the best thing on the menu if you're really hungry. Get it medium rare for max flavor! I look forward to having a large-party brunch here because there's one huge table that seats at least 10. My only drawback is how long it took to get our food out. The restaurant wasn't totally full but it took a considerable about of time to get anything. This could definitely be a one-time thing. I'll be back to find out! The Statler is becoming one of my new favorite spots. Between the decor and array of restaurants, you can't go wrong. ENJOY! read more

First of all, whoever is responsible for these biscuits need to be slapped. I say that because they are so damn good! Buttery and flaky - the crunchy outside and soft inside, melts in your mouth. Oh, and the hash and other food was good too. But did I tell you about those biscuits. And Courtney delivered the best customer service. She was so attentive and made us feel at home People listen. The string of poor reviews had me questioning whether to give this place a try but my tight schedule didn't allow for any other options. I am so glad we decided to go for it. Our server was excellent and friendly and the food was all delicious and generously portioned. The chicken fried steak breakfast plate was the star of the show but the avocado toast with smoked salmon added was delicious as well. Kids enjoyed their oatmeal and the cappuccinos were perfect. Would absolutely choose to come here again for breakfast any time. Deducted one star for slow coffee service but the otherwise excellent breakfast more than made up for it. read more

This new restaurant opened in the recently remodeled Statler Hotel. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit to Overeasy. In addition, Overeasy has many tasty things to eat. We opted to stick to more of the breakfast/brunch items as opposed to their lunch menu or daily specials. We ordered a variety of their biscuits. The biscuits alone were amazing. As someone who has grown up in Texas, I can appreciate a perfectly golden and fluffy biscuits. We also ordered the ham and egg biscuits and the sausage and gravy biscuits. This place was very popular during peak lunch hours. You can actually make a reservation online if you don't want to risk waiting. We got there a few minutes before noon and got a seat at the counter. If you don't have a time to eat, you should still check out their coffee. You can order coffee at their coffee bar at the front. Both the latte and americano. Sitting at the counter we got to see a lot of the food people ordered. The omelet seemed to be very popular, along with the deviled eggs, and all of their sandwiches. Can't wait for my next visit! read more

Great food, fun, friendly staff, nice open concept restaurant with a great outside patio. A shout out to Taylor and Kaitlin for great service that made our experience so pleasant. Had an awesome breakfast at Overeasy this past Sunday. We got there around 10. It was busy but not crowded and we got seated immediately at the counter. The cappuccino was wonderful to start with. We both got the two eggs meal, with bacon, toast and hash bombs. I also got a side of grits. My over medium eggs were cooked perfectly and the hash bombs were tasty without being overbearing. I liked the nine-grain toast and the bacon was not over crispy. The grits were pretty amazing, so smooth and creamy, and topped with what I think was Gruyere cheese. Service was excellent. Our server was Kelly, she was fun and on-point with service. She hooked us up with a couple to-go cups of coffee for the road. Breakfast at Overeasy was a great end to our weekend in Dallas. Highly recommend. read more

Overall the food was sub par. There was nothing that stood out. At the same time, I got a really simple plate so I can't expect it to be over the top. I asked for crispy bacon because that's how I normally like it, definitely shouldn't have done that. The pancake was fluffy which was nice but tasted pretty basic.. What I liked about this place is the location. It's 5 min from Deep Ellum on a Bird so that was perfect to continue on with Sunday Funday. read more

The venue was bright and clean, but the food and service varied. Our hostess was polite and accommodating, but our server seemed to be annoyed. Although I enjoy well seasoned food, I liked the very lightly seasoned deviled eggs. The very difficult to destroy bacon was palpable, but everything else wad hard to eat and ranged from room temperature to cold when placed on the table. Hopefully my next meal in Dallas will send me home with a better food memory. read more

Located below the statler hotel, this place is a must when you are downtown! Friends were in town for New Years and we decided to give this place a try. It had some great options on the menu so we decided to brave the blistering 25 degree Sunday morning. I am glad we did. The atmosphere was great and the service was even better. My buddy and I ordered the the brisket hash, slap me around and call me silly! That was so good. The meat was tender and seasoned, the potatoes were just cooked to perfection. It was so good that I finished my buddy's plate when he was full. Of course we had to order the bacon on the side which, you can never go wrong with, and that was great and crispy! We also ordered a side of the Yukon gold potato hash bombs!! That was so good, crispy and delicious! I was so so pleased with this place. We will be returning. read more

Decided to come here for a nice breakfast. Well by the time we finally got seated and got food it was lunch time. For there being a plethora of open seats the wait time was pretty extensive. Once finally seated and ordered we then had to wait 30 plus minutes for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't even at half capacity. Worst customer service I'd experienced in a long time . Place looks nicer than the food and the staff. Flies having a party on my pancakes (like literally multiple aggressive flies totally having a party on my food unapologetically) , did she offer to re make or take off my bill? No instead she offered to take the first pancake off and to still eat the rest lol how unprofessional is that ? 20$ eggs and bacon came wrong . Everyone is particular about their eggs. If I wanted runny medium eggs why should I accept over done completely solid fried eggs (picture attached) with a side of burnt bacon lol likeeee . I thought this place was called overeasy ?? They can't make a decent egg?? When I told the manager and server they just gave me very passive aggressive Karen smirks , and tried to make us the issue for pointing it out, instead of validating our very obvious experience (the flies were literally so chill on my food they were still there when she came over). Now I work in this industry stream there's multiple things clearly wrong your suppose to offer to make fresh food if there choice or refund them! They didn't want to do either because we are black folks and they wanted the narrative to be we just wanted free food. Very disappointing rude and possibly racist staff read more

This restaurant lost a full star for the blonde "hostess.". This woman would not seat us unless we gave her our last AND first names. When we asked why she needed more than a last name (she was seating us right away), she said "for the guest book." We were not staying at the attached hotel. There is absolutely no reason to take this information from people having breakfast. Has there been a problem with people skipping the check? Is she keeping a record for upper management to show she didn't let anyone in who values his/her privacy? If you don't want to give them your full name, come prepared with your fake name. The other 4 stars belong to our server, Mary, and whoever prepared our food. Mary was on top of things right away. Brought us water and coffee while we decided what to order. Pancakes and Sausage Biscuits with Gravy were both very good. Everything was hot and fresh when served. The food was nicely presented and the forks and knives felt substantial which is a vast improvement over almost any breakfast restaurant in town. Mary was attentive without being intrusive. This has become rare over the past year. All I had to do was look her way and she acknowledged us and came over as soon as she was finished taking an order nearby. She was attuned to her customers. read more
