This was our first time trying Over Easy and we enjoyed it! My husband got the Waffle Dogs with a side of tater tots. I got an order of biscuits and a side order of gravy (if you do go this route make sure you get two orders of gravy because their biscuits are huge!). I also got a side of sausage for us to share and an order of their hash browns (I love that they have the option to have it made crispier than normal, which is what I asked for). All the food was flavorful and well cooked. My only issue was that my biscuits were a little dry which wouldn't have been an issue had I ordered more gravy. Flavor wise, everything was great. The worst! The food and vibe suck. I live around the corner and used to go every weekend but the quality went downhill. They changed the potatoes which were worse. They can't keep servers. The manager walks by, looks at you and says nothing. So I initiate the hello every time and she finally says hello. Q: When did the Japanese start making eggs? A: A long tamago! Hah! I made a funny! Because "tamago" means "eggs." Get it? GET IT!?! I think this is why no one invites me for brunch. I get weird. D: I started with a Bacon Bloody Mary and ordered a Chicken Fried Steak with over easy eggs, home fries, and rye bread with wild berry jam. The gravy was so good and the fried steak had good flavor. One upsetting thing though is that the breading on my chicken fried steak got soggy insanely fast. Also to be had was the Banana-Nut French Toast. That dish is insanely good! Gotta love some sweet brunch treats! So yeah! I'm a fan of Over Easy. It's a cute place with friendly staff and good food. Our first time here and it will definitely not be our last! The service was friendly, personable and quick. My husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak and he was kind enough to share a bite. It was one of the best versions we have had. Perfectly cooked and generous in size. I will be ordering it next time! I ordered the Avocado Toast and a side of Spicy Cottage Cheese. The Avocado Toast was delicious, fresh and light and so filling that I couldn't eat the cottage cheese other than to try a tasteand it was so good! Went here for brunch on a Monday. We were able to get a seat right away. Our waiter was friendly and had great recommendations. I opted for the classic breakfast, with potatoes and a biscuit. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffles and biscuit and gravy. I of course had several bites of his waffle, amazing! Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! Sometimes I want a traditional breakfast like waffles/French toast, eggs, bacon, and sausage. Other days I crave something different than the traditional breakfast... luckily OE does both! OE's menu ranges from breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos, omelettes, avocado toast, breakfast cakes (pancakes), and Benedicts to Wolfpacks (essentially a hash brown sandwich?), LoKo MoKo, golden waffle dogs, and Chile pork and grits! There are several dishes that have appeared on TV at the top of the menu (including the golden waffle dogs). I was feeling something savory and ordered the breakfast burger (Not sure what constitutes a "breakfast burger" other than the egg) with sweet potato tots whilst bf ordered the chicken fried steak (as seen on TV). We ordered online and were able to get free delivery which was great! Ultimately I was a bit underwhelmed. The bun was nice but it was plain- no condiments whatsoever. Both the burger and eggs were cooked well. The arugula and fried onions were a nice touch. I'm not usually a fan of sweet potato tots but I was really feeling them! The chicken fried steak was especially underwhelming considering it was featured on TV. It was a tad salty. The star of the entree was the apricot jam that was included for the English muffin. I also had the OE Iced coffee (cold brew, condensed milk, cinnamon, and cardamom). It was $6 but I thought I'd give it a try because it sounded strong and sweet- almost like a Vietnamese iced coffee (which uses condensed milk). I don't know if there had been too much ice or what happened but it was neither strong nor sweet. I would definitely skip this- at $6 get a coffee you actually like from Starbucks. While yes, I was underwhelmed, there is nothing inherently wrong with OE- it's a good, solid breakfast spot and I applaud them for their creativity. There are still some things I'm intrigued to try- the LoKo MoKo and banana nut French toast- so I will likely be back. 3.5 stars read more

One of the worst breakfasts I've had in ages. Ordered a chicken fried steak and the steak was like eating shoe leather. So so tough and inedible. I had to spit out my second bite as I feared breaking my teeth. Hash browns tasted watery and uncooked. Coffee was tepid/lukewarm. Over medium eggs were okay. Nice open area. Too bad they didn't put as much effort into the cooking as I'd have expected. Food - 0.5 out of 10 Atmosphere/Ambiance - 7 out of 10 - open and not noisy Service - 7 out of 10 Value - 4 out of 10. Recommendations - 0.5. Supposedly this was reviewed on diners, drive ins and dives favorably but this was not my experience. Our first time to this location....we been to the one downtown many times. This one has a very nice set up with the bar in the center. We did notice the tvs weren't visible from our table...so if you are interested in watching sports while you eat, sit at the bar. Our server was great, very friendly and attentive. The service here is good and quick but the food is not as good as other locations. I usually go to the Arcadia location off of Indian School rd. and comparing the protein pancakes between the two the ones at this location are a bit over cooked and have been the now 3 times I've come in. That said I love the layout of this location way more and the lighting is much more natural. So really if they can mail down the quality control I think this would be an easy 5 stars. read more

9 minutes ago I've been waiting to go out for breakfast again (thanks Covid), but now with OverEasy opening on Guadalupe and Dobson and them getting their outdoor seating finished, I finally can. My wife and I rode our bikes over this morning (beautiful morning for a bike ride). Got a table outside and a fresh cup of coffee. I had the green chile pork on grits with a single over easy eggs on top. The waitress warned me their green chile was spicy - it was and the breakfast was AMAZING! My wife had the Bacon, avacado BLT with sweet potato tots and she also thoroughly enjoyed it. I can see us bike riding over here and eating breakfast regularly. They really did not take that into consideration as part of the interior design I guess . It wasn't that busy when we went and they also don't have a ton of tables inside, but the noise inside of the restaurant just echos. This place is so cute! The yellow really sets the mood for our meal and I think it brought out a sort of joy in me. I had the kids french toast and it tasted great, and it was a good serving size too. The hash browns were really salty, and should have been browned on both sides, but overall pretty tasty. We tried Over Easy for the first time today and we're not disappointed! The decor is a mix of blue and yellow and gives off an upscale diner vibe. The drink menu has fun cocktails and mimosas, which I usually don't like but tried the Grapefruit Elderflower and was pleasantly surprised. The food menu has choices for a variety of food likes. I tend toward low carb high protein so got a quinoa bowl and loved it. My husband had a build your own omelet with hash browns and toast, he loved it! He also had a Bacon Bloody Mary he said was real good. Onto service, we were warmly welcomed and only waited 10 minutes. Our server was Riley and she was FANTASTIC! I settled on the pork chili and grits. EXCELLENT choice. I love that they are willing to customize your order if needed. Friend ordered the Banana French Toast (a little too much caramel sauce for her taste) but appreciated that the bananas were the perfect texture. My other guests ordered omelets. The spicy cottage cheese looked very yummy (she substituted for potatoes). The only reason for 4 stars is that there was about a 3-4 minute gap between serving the first two people and the second two. My mama told me I had to wait for my guests to be served before I can eat, and I HATE cold eggs. So I was tapping my foot to be sure. They don't know service dog laws. I came in and the first reaction from a server was that dogs aren't allowed per health codes. I tried correcting her. She was adamant in her knowledge and refused service. Host was a bit confused stating that they're service animals, server doubled down and brought out the manager. Manager came out and gave me the whole "dogs aren't allowed and I know more than you vibe" and tried to get us to sit in the patio, but it's breezy and I wanted to sit inside. He refused access and wasn't too polite about it. I started recording him asking him to repeat what he said and he retreated in a huff. I went back in for corporate info and lo and behold he read the laws, found out he was gravely in the wrong, and didn't "want to make a big fuss publicly about it" and asked to talk about it outside to not make a scene. Tried to gaslight me into thinking that I was welcomed into his establishment and that they would love to have me eat there. Of course dude. 2 stars for the half-hearted apology and because yes the business is fairly new (almost a year though!) but service animal laws are not. I drove back to pick up the missed items and asked if they could just remake the order. The hostess understood, but management declined, letting me know that I should've brought the meal back to be remade.... what difference does it make? My meal was $50 total, I come here so often they knew my name for my order based on the number I gave them. I'd think, as a business, remaking not even $11 worth of food would be worth customer satisfaction after dropping the ball.
