Ovenbird Bakery - Bakeries Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

Love the well-baked goods there! Its so good and has a wonderful texture. The flavors were well-balanced and taste so good. The selection were fantastic and I like the Focaccia and Chocolate Croissant. The taste so good and portion size were amazing. A must try! read more

Every single pastry we tried from here was delicious. We had some kind of berry turnover, a bagel sandwich and a mushroom quiche. Everything was amazing. The line was a bit long but definitely worth the wait. read more

My favorite place I ate in Baltimore! Everything was baked fresh, was light, delicious, and had a nice balance of flavor. A little cramped, but a nice, local bakery with yummy sandwiches, breads, and pastries. Go early! read more

Ovenbird is incredible. So excited to find this gem in Little Italy! During the week and weekends, it draws a pretty large crowd and you should be prepared to wait a while (all outside during Covid and no indoor seating available). Delicious breads and baked goods. Sourdough is amazing and these Nutella croissant creations they make are absolutely incredible. My one issue with eating here is that if you order ANYTHING that needs even a tiny bit of preparation, you will legit be waiting 15-20 minutes, even for a bagel toasted with cream cheese. Took me 40 mins one time for them to put some avocado and salmon on a slice of bread. Not sure what is going on in the kitchen but they need to figure out a way to move a bit faster on the food prep side. It is generally worth the wait - but it can be annoying as a customer. read more

Best bagel I've ever had. Quiche was amazing. Lovely place to sit out and eat as well. Great atmosphere.

Walked in for my first time and asked the cashier for recs. She was incredibly friendly and even gave me a chocolate-chirp cookie to try (which was delicious). Every recommendation sounded tasty, but I went with the smashed meatball sandwich and was not disappointed. The bread had a crispy crust and soft inside which was the perfect compliment to the super flavorful meatballs and tomato sauce. I can't wait to come back to try more from this hidden gem. read more

The food is so good! Well-baked food and pastries is so amazing! My mom like to stop there and takeout some food. I love the focaccia and Chocolate Croissant. The texture is good and has pleasant atmosphere. The coffee was great too. The aromas was fantastic and taste has smooth flavor. The staff is very attentive and prompt. read more

Love this bakery! Delicious food, nice bread. A few simple tables out front make it a noce place to stop at for a weekend breakfast or snack. read more

We went there in the morning to grab a dozen bagels for work and got the blueberry lemon scone and chocolate croissant for ourselves. We got there right at 8 when they opened so avoided the line that quickly formed after we arrived. By far the best pastries in Baltimore! We went back the next day to try cookies and it was just as delicious. read more

Heavenly Bagels. Making a line early in the morning is totally worth it. The bagels are always soooo fresh and so fluffy, and buttery. I love this place and I wish I lived closer to it!! Do not delay - go asap! read more

SO GOOD!! Highly recommend if you're in the area. This has been on my to try list for awhile and we finally decided to check it out. The line outside was pretty long but that's because only one party is allowed inside the store at a time. It's very small inside so that makes sense. While waiting in line, someone brought out pretzel and cookie samples. We tried the cookie (phenomenal) and pretzel! Once you get close to the entrance you can smell the freshly baked bread through your mask. Ordered lots of things because I couldn't help myself. I was so excited about the baked goods that I forgot to order myself a latte...next time though. Got the focaccia with Rosemary; blueberry lemon scone (this is probably the best scone I've ever had...really big juicy blueberries and the flavor was incredible); chocolate croissant (this was okay, looking forward to trying the almond croissant next time); ham, Brie, and fig on baguette (so good!); and the grilled cheese (also really good). They had outdoor seating and did a great job following COVID protocols. Definitely plan to visit again. Check it out if you're in the area! read more

The bakery products are excellent. The online and telephone responses are uneven and frustrating on Saturday mornings.

Excellent service and the bakery items were delicious. Received food quickly. Coffee was also very good.

It has taken me way too long to write this review, but somebody has to say this: best bagel in Baltimore. I've done my research, I won't name names of runners-up and overrated spots. Because in terms of quality, value, presentation, AND customer service, Ovenbird is the only name that matters. Today I ordered the lox bagel on everything and requested it without capers. The everything seasoning is unique and sometimes has a little bite to it. I got there by 9:30, and by the time I ordered the line was already long. So I suggest getting there early or planning on going when you don't have a tight schedule because it's worth the wait. Aside from the popularity, I think the time it takes also reflects how much the staff cares about getting your experience right. They make sure you are listened to, and are so accommodating if you want something made a certain way. You can order ahead on Saturdays/Sundays only, but I suggest going in person and ordering. I've also previously ordered the breakfast sandwich with sausage, and that was incredible. You can tell the sausage is so fresh, the cheese is gourmet, and the whole sandwich was made with TLC. Thank you Ovenbird, for making my Sunday's a little less scary. read more

Ovenbird Bakery - Lox bagel on everything. Mod: no capers - Bakeries Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

Delicious and fair prices. Adorable. Don't miss this scrumptious bakery. Cute outdoor seating only.

Stumbled upon this cute little bakery while I was in from out of town and was shocked to see such a line so early in the morning. We didn't second guess it and hopped in line too. Must be something special to get all these people up and early on a Sunday morning and that it was. The bagel was the perfect soft yet crisp mix. Cured my bagel fix and hunger. Wish I was more hungry to try out more they had to offer. They also have drinks! Their website + social media doesn't show it anywhere so we ended up getting coffee elsewhere prior to coming here in case. read more

Stumbled upon this spot accidentally and so glad that we did. The food was amazing and very fresh, and the loaf of fig and walnut spelt that we brought home with us was quickly devoured. Had the avo toast with smoked salmon, which had the mashed fresh avocado of dreams, piled respectably high with smoked salmon. It was a hot day and we waited in line for maybe 15 minutes in total (although we were in the shade and really not bothered by this) and the owner/manager hung out with everyone in line the whole time making friendly conversation and offering food suggestions. My only criticism is the lack of bathrooms, which would have been nice. Hopefully this can change in the post covid era. Regardless, we can't wait to go back. read more

Exceptional everything. The shortbread and chocolate croissant were the best I've ever had. They must use some amazing butter, you can really taste it! Great, friendly, quick service as well. Will absolutely return if I'm ever back in Baltimore. read more

Perfect little quick breakfast place. Cute outdoor seating. Staff was super kind and food was delicious.

Cute little bakery, staff were super friendly. Latte was good but Turkey and havarti sandwich was delicious! The flavor of the aioli and arugula was perfect and cucumber gave a pleasant crunch. My mom enjoyed her sausage, egg and cheddar on homemade English muffins as well. You order inside and pick up at the window outside which was great on a nice summer day but I guess be prepared in the winter! They have a few tables outside if you want to sit and eat. The other bakery items as looked beautiful so I'm sure they are yummy too! read more

The spicy fennel bagel was one of the most delicious bagels I've had in my life. And I live in NYC. Wonderfully friendly staff, an abundance of breads and sandwiches to choose from, everything is fresh and you can see all the happy bakers working in the back and making bread. An absolute must if you are visiting Baltimore and I am jealous of all those who live close enough to go here regularly! read more

Came by here today and had easily the best croissant I have had in years. The bread looks (and smells) incredible. Definitely will be coming back for it! read more

Chocolate croissants and their turkey melt sandwich was 10/10. I'll definitely come back when I'm in Baltimore again.

Finally checked out my new neighborhood bakery. I tried 3 things. All were delicious. And great prices. Here's the scoop: Spinach & Feta Scone - Soft and fresh and yummy. I know there's a harder scone vs softer scone preference thing. I prefer softer so this was very good. Smoked salmon sandwich on an everything bagel - So tasty! And a bargain at $6. Their everything bagel doesn't taste like the "typical" everything bagel. Has a unique blend of spices and herbs loaded all around. Great flavor. It had a generous portion of smoked salmon (lox), light cream cheese and I think they told me it was black onion seeds? Full transparency I added extra cream cheese when I got home. I would have loved some red onion, tomato and capers on it. But just as is it was very good. Spinach and cheese quiche - Soooooo good! They warmed it up so I could eat it right away. Generous slice. Perfect balance of spinach, cheese and crust. The crust was almost croissant-like. Buttery and flaky. It was my favorite of the 3 things. Should have taken pics. Oops. Will next time. Let's continue to support our neighborhood shops!!! read more

I love this place. Probably my favorite breakfast spot/bakery in Baltimore. So many good things to pick from. Bagels are great and coffee is good. One of my staples read more

I'm not a bread person, but this place has converted me. We buy a loaf of the Baltimore sourdough about once (sometimes twice) a week it is so good. The hype is real here. Also amazing croissants and great service. read more

O M G. The two breads we got are so friggen great...the olive and the apricot. What a treat!!

Really enjoy their breads (Rye is my fav!) but I wish they had a loyalty program like some other bakeries in the area because over time they can get quite pricey for those of us carb-aholics. In the end I will continue to come back as money allows (which must say something since I was a bit hesitant after they closed for the critter situation) read more

The almond croissant is incredible!!! Literally something to write home about. No wait at all on a Friday morning, and very friendly and helpful staff. Great new place! read more

I've been here twice. That I stood in line outside waiting as the folx in front of me bought bags and bags of baked goods says something about this place. What's great is that the staff takes great care with someone buying huge amounts of stuff or you're buying an English Muffin and a cup of coffee. And trust me: you WANT to buy an English muffin. You will not want to go back to store-bought ones! They are the primary reason why you should have one of their breakfast sandwiches. I also want to give a shout out to the staff, who, after realizing the boule I ordered was still in the oven, asked me to pick a replacement and threw in a yummy babka-type pastry. I won't mind if you don't go to Ovenbird Bakery--more for me! (But seriously, you should go to Ovenbird Bakery). read more

First of all this place has a great stuff. Good choice of various baking, you can smell freshly baked bread when you just come in. Cozy small shop with great sandwiches, cookies, bread and many other delicious bakery. Croissants here is one of the best. Sandwiched awesome too. Very cool place. read more

We stopped at Ovenbird after having a pizza snack at Isabella's 1 block away (highly recommend). We had our hearts set on a baguette sandwich. They told us it's possible to get any of the sandwiches on a baguette, but they were sold out of baguettes for the day! We ended up getting the turkey and havarti on sourdough and it was delicious, fresh, and pretty light. We also got the chocolate peanut butter French silk pie and the chocolate chirp cookie. The chocolate chirp cookie, with little flakes of sea salt, might be my favorite cookie ever. The edges were crisp but the cookie was still thick enough to have some chewiness. The pie was silky and rich, without being too filling or heavy (somehow, don't know what kind of magic can make that happen). What I really liked was that neither dessert was too overwhelmingly sweet. We are thinking of stopping by again today to pick up some cookies for friends! read more

The bakery is amazing. The everything bagel is so good- it is honestly one of the best I have had outside of Long Island. The Cardamom Lemon Buns are addictive- buy more than one or two - trust me. Everything I have had is amazing and I love trying new items each time I go. Definitely worth the walk from Patterson Park to Little Italy (though I did find parking when I drove over).
