BLT

Had to show every angle of the sandwich because it's one of the best I've ever had. I actually took these pictures in July but I've been reminiscing on the sandwich for months. I feel like not every sandwich shop or bakery gets a BLT right but ovenbird does. Maybe it's the mayo, maybe it's Maybelline. This cute little bakery has so much more to offer, including the fresh baked bread, many other types of sandwiches, coffee, and the lot. Not lots of seating inside, but in the summer, they have four or five tables out. Good place to chat with friends.

Staying in Little Italy this week and found the bakery where all the locals go. That's for a very good reason. What a great selection of baked goods and coffees! Inside is clean and quaint. The staff were incredibly friendly and informative. There was seating inside and outside and many of the people there this morning were carrying out. Everything we had hit, and I was eyeing up the Old Bay cheddar loaf for tomorrow. Whole everything was great, my two favorites were The Dementor which is a deconstructed croissant with cheddar and great savory seasoning. Flaky, moist, buttery...amazing. The almond croissant was easily one of the best I've had. This crew executes on everything they do. Can't wait to go back and I'll be sure to make this a stop every time I'm in Baltimore.

Great little artisan bakery in the heart of Little Italy in Baltimore. Bagels are great. I had a bacon egg and cheese on an everything. The bagel was heavily covered in "everything" on both sides. The Everything mix was not as heavy on garlic as most are and heavier on black pepper. This was a wonderful change! Egg was cooked well and the cheese was strong enough to really add flavor where most just add texture. Wife's croissant was buttery and flaky and well laminated. The loaf of sourdough we brought home was and is just excellent -- nice crumb, good texture and chew, well baked throughout. Two small tables inside (we were lucky to snag one, the day was warm) and three or four (I think) outside. Really friendly staff of bakers, cashier, and order fulfillment folks.

Phenomenal. The everything bagel that I had was exceptional. It was soft and chewy, amd when they said everything, they meant it! I don't think I've ever had an everything bagel that had what I thought was red pepper flakes or some sort of kick to it. The lox was fresh, as was the cream cheese, I just wish there was more of it. I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte, not sure why , but it sounded good. I can't say I was too impressed and it was fairly high at over $6. The staff were friendly and there next to no wait. I loved the quaint setting and the outdoor chairs, I will definitely be back!

How do I start a petition for all chocolate croissants to have more chocolate throughout instead of when being baked, the chocolate just all sits at the bottom!? Regardless of my strife, I had to make this visit since I had seen good things, but I'm not sure what the giant hype was about unless I didn't get the correct items. Got here before they opened at 8am & stood outside for about 5 minutes with several other people until they let us in right on the dot, building up the anticipation! They have quite a few things to choose from, but I decided to get the Chocolate Croissant being that I've had them several times in the past from different places & enjoy them. This thing was HUGE, had layers upon layers of flaky pastry dough covered in cinnamon sugar I believe & then the sad chocolate logs that sat on the bottom in all of their glory. It was fresh and great, I just wish there was some way to have the chocolate experience the entire way through. Now I'm more disappointed because online I had seen they had a Cheddar Jalapeño Sourdough (& its still on there right now, doesn't state it's seasonal) that I was really looking forward to, but I was told it's a seasonal bread and of course it's not the correct season apparently? Booooo My only thing is, the website needs to be updated if it's not correct and I'm not from Baltimore or Maryland for that matter, so I had only come for that reason and was let down! Ended up opting for the Rosemary & Sea Salt Focaccia, and was overwhelmed by the site of the pineneedle-looking spice LOADED all over the top. I love rosemary, that was why I got it, but I didn't enjoy the amount of it. Taste was alright, but overall extremely underwhelming, it actually ended up molding sitting on my counter because I wasn't eating it fast enough since I had no desire to. Maybe I should've made grilled cheese? Who knows! Workers seemed tired and lackluster, granted it was an early Sunday morning, but some pep in your step would've made a difference as well!

I've been coming to Ovenbird since they opened and stopped coming for a little bit, but recently came back because they have the best bagels in town as of 2025. I was very disappointed with the toasting and the schmearing of the bagels. Make sure you ask for extra toasted and a normal amount of cream cheese because the amount they gave me was scant. I'm always a little disappointed in their quiches and sandwiches, but I recently had their Italian cold cut and the Baltimore sourdough is delicious. There wasn't enough of the hot pepper spread so it was a little dry so make sure you ask for more of that spread. This is not a French bakery, so do not get their croissants. I repeat do not get their croissants even though the sales person will tell you they're good. They are not good. The croissant is also five dollars, which is $.50 more than the average competitor and it was honestly worse than a store-bought croissant. It's ugly, dry and so dense. This is their first location in Little Italy and it's quite small. There's two tables inside, but they do have outdoor seating, which is really lovely on a nice day.

GREAT chocolate croissant!! Definitely one of the best I have had in the DMV area. It was served cold though, so I wish they had a better way of maintaining the freshness of the pastries sold at the bakery. Also bought a couple of their bread loaves, focaccia, and everything tasted wonderful. Latte was great, too. The place is tiny though, only has two tables available. More like a to-go bakery

I've been here a few times, always trying something new, and I'm never disappointed. The ham and gruyère croissant was a little too greasy/buttered in my opinion but it was still sooo good. Paired with an ube latte (my new favorite coffee syrup for sure!), it was absolutely divine. The cafe is small inside and always has business, so grabbing an indoor table is difficult, though the outdoor ones are nice in good weather. Staff is friendly and pretty quick considering the near constant line of patrons.

This place is pretty tight inside but what it lacks in space, it more than makes up in staff friendliness and delicious treats. The staff have the patience of a saint because I couldn't make up my mind to save my life and they offered very helpful recommendations. The pastries and sandwich were fresh, buttery and beyond delicious which promoted a secondary to go purchase.

We were craving a breakfast sandwich and figured it was the perfect opportunity to finally try Ovenbird bakery, and I'm so glad! That bacon egg and cheese on a Za'atar bagel was AMAZING. Typing this review makes me crave it again. I also enjoyed a really good shot of espresso while waiting for our food. Space is cozy, whether you plan to enjoy your food and coffee there, or are there to pick up your order. Will definitely be back, because they were sold out of their everything bagel, and I definitely want to give that one a try alongside one of their sourdough loaves!

Everything about this place is good. Good service, nice staff, best pastries (lots of options)... I'm going back for the burrata bagel! The service is quick and definitely worth trying if you're visiting Baltimore.

While out running errands today, I realize that I was getting lightheaded because I hadn't eaten…read moreyet. I had dining plans for later but I need something on my stomach to get rid of this headache. I opted on THB Bagelry. They never miss. The food is always fresh and it's light (doesn't weigh you down). Confession: I have been to several other THB's but I've never been to this location before. Quite honestly, every time I pass this location, I couldn't figure out how to get in the shop. There was signage but no entrance, so I never stopped. Today I learned that you have to park in the lot (Boston & S. Clinton Street) and walk around the corner. The entrance is on S. Clinton St. Upon entering, as usual, it was very busy... always a great sign and there was a really nice flow. There's definitely a rhythm to the employees at THB, which I appreciate. There's ample seating, plenty of room, and every employee I interacted with was polite, welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. I loved it. I was in and out of there in no time. My go to here is the 'Uncle Gigli'. LOVE this 'bagelwich' (wait... did I just make up a new word?!? Ha! Check me out! Nah. I'm sure it already exists... I just like patting myself on the back when I can. lol). Turns out the 'Uncle Gigi', evidently, is a Guest Fave! Nice! It comes w/ an Everything bagel (scooped), skinnied (I leave as is) and toasted. The interior is stuffed w/ Scallion cream cheese, Muenster cheese, avocado spread, cucumber, sprouts, tomato. You can sub your choice of bread or bagel. There's even the option to make it VEGAN with vegan cream cheese and no Muenster cheese. The flavors ALWAYS hit w/ this one! I also added salmon, making this even more PERFECT than it already is. The toasted crispy outside of the bagel with the soft interior and all the fresh crunchy veggies inside & the mildly salty salmon, basically make this a salad u can walk & eat. Yummm-o!!! SCORE!!! See u soon, THB Bagelry...

I love this place. Been coming here for years. This is still my favorite regional bagel…read moreshop/chain. You can see my previous reviews for how awesome this place is. The short version is you won't find better bagels dine in or to go in the area. Their menu is well designed with a decent variety of options without being overwhelming or trying to do too much. As a regional chain, they have several locations but this one is very well situated. There's a free parking lot and free parking on the street out front. They have a decent inside dining area and outdoor seating on the patio as well. During the pandemic, they kept going with delivery and curbside pick up and eventually opened for in-store pick up and eventually for in-store dining again. Over the past few years they have been rewarded with a growing and loyal customer base. All of this means that if you want to place an order, be prepared, especially on weekend mornings, for a decent delay as they will at times become swamped with customers. I highly recommend downloading and using their app. Much better than trying to use a third party app to order. Plus you get occasionally discounts/rewards. In order to help address the breakfast rush hour, a few years ago they installed a very large wall with alphabetized shelves for pick up orders. in addition, they recently added a monitor that shows which orders are currently ready and on the shelf, and which orders are in progress with a time estimate for when it will be ready. In terms of specific food items, I highly recommend all of the breakfast egg sandwiches. Be aware that the 'ham' they list is Taylor ham; also known as pork roll. Very delicious, but not the same thing as deli ham. All of the lunch sandwiches are well-made but I am partial to the low fat chicken salad. It's great on a bagel, cold, or on rye bread as a Panini. The french fries are a must have, and I would absolutely get them with breakfast or lunch.

What a beautiful bakery!…read more Overbird Bakery in Baltimore's Little Italy is baking artisan, European-style sourdough breads and pastries that uses spices and flavors from Turkey as well as the Mediterranean. When I walked in the other day, the baked goods on display made my jaw drop. I would have loved to stay and enjoy my breakfast but I had to get back home so grab and go is my only option. First time here, I'm going to start with a croissant and a special latte they were promoting. The croissant comes to me, warm and fresh in the bag. Ovenbird Bakery makes a great croissant, very buttery and flakey. I'm just passing thru, I'm glad I discovered this great bakery in Baltimore.

I visited the Ovenbird in Little Italy and was informed of this location by the staff…read more We decided to check the bigger location out. Parking was sought on the street about a block away. Once we entered there was a line to order which was to the door; pretty lengthy. We decided to order at the bar. Once we ordered we then had to find seating which is first come first seat. We were lucky that someone was finished and we were able to get seated. Everything was seeming to go well, until drinks came and some odd reason the receipt was reviewed which allowed for capturing an error in what we paid vs what we ordered (drinks). We ordered a hot pistaschio matcha latte and a hot vanilla latte with skim. We were charged for Soy milk and it was an upcharge. After bringing it to the bartender attention it was corrected. However, thw Pistaschio Matcha came minus the pistaschio favoring. After sitting for awhile the bartender came over took the drink and added the favoring; however, the drink is luke warm and it did not help. This drink was then given back. Our breakfast sandwiches came out ok. We ordered bacon, egg, cheese on plain and everything bagel. The egg was a little bigger then a 50 cent piece. And this was alarming to the size of a bagel. The bagel was not soft as I had from the one in Little Italy. The sandwich was not the worse but not that good based on the egg and bagel texture. It looks like the price point can not be justified by the product. It looks like its the aesthetic look I am paying for. I will visit the location in Little Italy and not here again.
