Everything about the restaurant was great from the time we walked in: the service, the food, the attention to detail, and our wonderful server, Paige. We had the soup, the homemade bread, a wonderful salad, the Japanese potato, and halibut. The halibut was very unique with broth. All in all, wonderful, great service. Next time we come back, we'll ask for Paige specifically.

Really enjoyed this spot! Aside from waiting a little bit it was tasty. We ordered a breakfast sandwich and a grilled cheese with bacon and avocado, two glasses of wine and the bone broth. The bone broth was definitely the winner, it was so good and a little spicy the service was really great. Everyone was really fast and friendly. The inside was very trendy and dark, would be a cute first date spot

Dutch Pancake; yes, it fills the entire takeout box!

Don't you just love Saturday mornings? Unlike the frazzled workday mornings, I relish the weekends when I can relax & let the day just evolve. Sleep in. Check. Take your sweet time making coffee. Check. Take your sweet time drinking said coffee. Check. Take your sweet time getting ready. Check. Now what? Make breakfast or go out? Maybe grab some fresh pastries & breakfast sandwiches...? Wait. It's a beautiful day. How about a nice drive out along the great highway/ocean beach? Done! A drive out to ocean beach used to mean stopping by the Cliff House but that still isn't even close to being reopened, or "reimagined" yet. Sigh. How about Dutch pancakes? Dutch pancakes means that the first stop is Outerlands. We ordered Dutch pancakes online on the way. Easy breezy. Good thing too because there was still a line for a table even though they were closing in a half hour. The hostess was personable & sweet, despite the fact that it was packed, inside & out. We then headed to Ocean Beach to enjoy our breakfast in the sea air with an ocean view. Crispy on the outside, but custardy in the inside. Not too sweet which is a plus for me; you can always alter the sweetness by asking for extra syrup. I think next time I'll request extra powdered sugar. Don't let the wait & the line scare you away. There's nothing standing between you & a very good Dutch pancake except placing an online order. 4 stars.

Brunch at Outerlands is still solid. In fact, the only meal we've ever had at Outerlands is brunch. The smashed potatoes with salsa verde and aioli are a must order for us, and the brioche pecan sticky bun is so good. Their switch to counter ordering helps move the lines, but it also makes Outerlands feel more like a cafe than restaurant, but with a better menu. Baked goods are always good, but egg options are pretty limited for a brunch menu: just a breakfast sandwich and a rice congee with a soft egg added. (I'd personally love to see a few more egg options.) There is a chia bowl, a Dutch pancake, French toast, pastries, espresso drinks and more lunch-friendly options like salads, soup and sandwiches (including a mortadella sandwich.) Fog hangs over this neighborhood, and the beachy feel and friendly staff make it a cozy, casual brunch stop.

Outerlands as a venue is amazing; I loved the woodwork and the whole natural vibe of the place! To top that off, the service was exemplary; our wait person was friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and attentive; couldn't ask for anything more. I went specifically for the smash burger and it was great except it was more like a regular burger. I'm accustomed to having the crispy, frilly edges around a smash burger and this didn't have that. It was also a thicker burger than a "smash" burger. It was still a delicious burger, so I was okay with it. Everyone at the table except for one person ordered the burger, too, and they seemed to really enjoy it. It was pretty big, so many of us only ate half and took the other half home. One of the diners at my table ordered the broccolini for everyone to try. The wait person had said it was one of her favorite dishes and, I have to agree, it was fantastic! The only other issue I had was that they charged tax on the 5% service charge and the 5% SF Health Mandate, so I ended up paying $10 more than I should have paid. We were a large group and that little extra charge that the group members didn't pay ended up coming out of my own pocket. The tax should have been only on the food, not on the other stuff! I'll know next time!

Outerlands is a busy american food style place. What place in SF isn't ?!? Customer service is mediocre at best. Seating is chaotic, and feels like a struggle. Once seated, I opted for the daily/weekly "special" which is why I was there... the burger! Things I enjoyed. The cold ketchup. The fries weren't seasoned. Things that were a hot mess: The burger. Objects are smaller than they appear in photos. The patty was tasty, but it was really overdone, especially for a patty that was thin. The produce was okay. It's produce. The cheese pretty much ran across the burger. It's a pricey weekly "pop up" so to speak. The line is usually pretty long, and it's not fast moving.

Been wanting to return for awhile and was a bit disappointed on Valentine's Day. Surprisingly, the line wasn't long and the system changed to picking a number sign from an unseated table, order and sit back where the sign was, which, for us, was at the counter. Right in front of us was a woman making drinks and was clearly overwhelmed with the orders. We were served our smoked salmon toast and focaccia sandwich, which my daughter said was overpowered by saltiness in the pesto. We finished our meals, plates were taken away, and our drinks still didn't arrive. First, we were given the wrong order and then it took a little more while for our hot ginger lemon tea and Sunset Fog. I sensed this place was understaffed by at least two people and the brunch menu has been downgraded. Still, this lively rustic spot is clearly filled with Sunday regulars!

Stopped by Outerlands for dinner. We ordered the bread to start, which was fantastic. Very soft and pillowy, and the butter was delicious and salty. Our waiter, who was very friendly, told us that some people just order a boule of bread to go. For my main, I got the roasted chicken. This was a bit disappointing, as the meat was a bit dry. For ~$35, I expected at least a juicy, tender bird. The salad it came with wasn't bad though. If I ever do come back, I will be ordering something else, as I can easily roast a better chicken at home. Overall, a cute local spot in the outer sunset. I'll be back for the bread, but might not dine in again, at least for a while.

Chill and nice interior great for grabbing a drink and chilling with friends. Their warm sourdough with butter is so comforting. Definitely recommend their sourdough papardelle, really liked the texture of it with the pesto base sauce, pretty light overall. Their roasted chicken is really flavorful. Cant beat their warm salted chocolate cookie with lots of melted chocolate inside

Dutch pancake ($20) is so special and rare. It's poufy and airy inside and crunchy on the outside. The housemade ricotta is very mild and lacks a milky flavor, and not worth the extra $2. I asked for maple syrup on the side but they just gave it to me all together - which just made some bites sweet and soggy while the other bites were just bread. I wish the syrup came on the side by default. Little gem salad $24 - we got it for the smoked salmon, which was the best part! Not too salty. But protein portion is pretty small. Scrambled egg add on was delicious and soft. The bread that comes with it is so hard and inedible. Luckily we ordered house bread toast on the side which was much better. But it was still too burnt. But can't believe the toast and butter is both a separate charge each, like I wish there was more clarification while ordering or on the menu. Overall, while ordering at the front felt pretty rushed, not very helpful, and actually rude. So I'm not sure why there's a 10% service and health charge plus the default option to tip at 20% when everything is self serve. It just overall felt like an over hyped brunch experience.

Got a gift card for my birthday so my bestie and I went there for early dinner at 5:00 pm when they opened. Place filled up pretty quickly but it was a sunny day in SF, so plenty of seating outside too. We decided to sit inside because I really loved the earthy wood decor. Their bread and butter was so soft, and some of the best I've ever had. Had squash for the appetizer and split the rigatoni and roasted chicken. Finished it off with their chocolate bread pudding! Shout out to Arthur, our amazing server who was super attentive and personable! I definitely want to come here and try their brunch!

This is our go to neighborhood spot. Great food, great service, great cocktails, great vibes. Don't bother going to Zuni Cafe, the roasted chicken here is better!

This is a great spot for a date or a casual quiet meal in the neighborhood. The staff was extremely friendly, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so relaxing. The drinks are AMAZING! They have quite a unique selection of spirits and their bartenders are expert cocktail connoisseurs. I will be back soon and often.

The lamb was absolutely delicious, possibly the best lamb I've ever eaten. Easily the highlight of the meal! The cornbread and butter were also incredible, and the cocktails were really tasty. We first dined at Aziza before its…read moreremodel when it was small, intimate, and charming, enjoyed outdoor dining here during the pandemic, and have spent many anniversaries and work events at Mourad, where service was always stellar. Having not been back in a while, we were excited to bring an out-of-town guest to Aziza. It actually pains me to write this because I deeply respect Chef Lahlou's extraordinary talent, but the service we experienced was abysmal--the worst we've had at any restaurant in this price range (and even below). It honestly makes me question how they maintain a Michelin recommendation, or whether Chef Lahlou is simply less involved in daily operations than he used to be. The issues began immediately at arrival. The host stand was pure chaos, with multiple parties holding reservations spilling out the door. The hostess was visibly frazzled and incredibly rude; we even watched her yell a curt "NO, the bar is full" at a couple asking about open seats after several people had just left. Once seated, it took several minutes to receive water, brought by a staff member we didn't realize was actually our waiter. He didn't return to take our drink orders for another 20 minutes. We all ordered "In the Time of Butterflies"--it sounded lovely on paper, but it was a total acid bomb that I really should have sent back. When our waiter finally took our food order, the demeanor was completely transactional and lacked any warmth. The front of house was a stark contrast to the kitchen, which is executing at a high level. The food was tasty, beautifully plated, and well-paced. This is what we ordered and enjoyed: Trio of Spreads: Delicious, though note that at $29, flatbread isn't included--that's an additional $12 for three pieces. Savory Dishes: The Queen Salad, eggplant, grilled octopus, kefta brochette, and basteeya were all fantastic. Dessert: The date cake was absolute perfection--props to the pastry chef! I would seriously consider coming back just for that if the cocktails and service were better. Unfortunately, service missteps continued throughout the meal. Despite ordering a wide variety of courses, we were never offered clean plates, which is basic standard practice for family-style dining at this level. We had to ask more than once just to get a single set of fresh plates. There was a long lag time between finishing our cocktails and being able to order wine, and when we finally did, the waiter made us feel rushed. To cap off the night, the food runner offered to box up our leftovers, forgot entirely, and by that point, we were so over it that we just paid and left. The back of house is doing its job, but Aziza is currently charging fine-dining prices without delivering the necessary hospitality or experience. I truly hope Chef Lahlou addresses these front-of-house issues with his team, as the food deserves so much better.

It's very nicely appointed in a sort of "Aunt Ruth's" Victorian home aesthetic. You know, kind of like a Tea room with questionable art, and statuary and lighting. However, very nicely appointed and well thought out with cool floors and a nice entryway. Charming to some, but not necessarily to my liking. Nice price points and an interesting variety of menu offerings. I enjoyed the two egg breakfast with potatoes and a slice of toast with what appeared to be a blueberry compote. I ordered a side of buttered fettuccine noodles for only six dollars, a nice portion and rather tasty. A nice breakfast for $16 which was a good value. My wife had the seafood dish that had salmon, shrimp, and mussels for $18, another good value. However, she said it wasn't that tasty because of the way it was prepared. I probably won't return because the one caveat is the service. It is extremely odd from the moment you walk in it feels cult like?! A group of servers that seem to be devoid of what is indeed "service". After the order was taken and served, they only came back to bring the check. Very impersonal, almost borderline rude vibes. However, when getting into our car, a nice young man was maybe taking out the garbage who greeted us and was very polite and thankful for our presence and asked us to come again and to drive safely. That was a nice touch. A short drive over the Golden Gate Bridge from Marin County was an easy route by taking a right just passed the old toll bridge gates and going all the way up to the "Legion of Honor" and coming around the backside is a nice way to avoid traffic and stop signs and traffic lights. Best route to get to the beach as well!
