(NOTE: I can't actually rate the food becuase we didn't have any! We stopped in to ask about omelettes and the staff members recommended we head a few doors down to TJ Cafe, which we did, (see separate review). I just gave it 5 stars becuse everybody else has and I see no need to bring down the rating.) On the way back to our car from TJ Cafe, i noticed, through the window, that the wall of bottles was actually topped by a big sign saying non-alcholic! Having been a member of a non-drinking community since 1962, I was fascinated to see such display and dropped in to check it out We spent some 15 minutes with Josh, an ex-bar tender, explaining his philosophy on the social need for community life withoug depending on alcohol (See his Youtube channel: "Josh the non-Alcoholic" for more on this). Josh gave my wife a free cup of coffee since TJ Cafe down the road had no had free refills, and we entered a draw to win a bottle of non-Alcoholic French wine. Josh surprised us by telling us that the French wine industry is going big on non-alcoholic wines. I bought a can of Vanua Bliss - a Mango flavoured Kava drink - vastly different from the Kava served to me during my 3 years stay on Tanna, New Hebrides (1977 to 1980) which was made by youth chewing the kava in their mouths, spitting it out on to a coconut sheath, then pouring water into it and squeezing it into a half shell of a coconut and cerimoniously handing it to you under the shade of a huge Nambunga tree as the twilight deepened! Such are memories made of. While Kava is not alcoholic, it does have some muscle relaxant properties and give a weird buzz of the tongue. I wish him well in his endeavour to allow the teetotaler community to enjoy the social aspects of drinks with their meals, without worring about the alcohol destroying our brain cell and livers! read more

I strongly recommend Ocean Beach Cafe. It's in a great location, just a block away from Ocean Beach. All the employees are great people. Joshua and Wayne are such friendly people and create such a welcoming and supportive community. It is awesome that they organize beach clean-ups every Saturday. Which comes with a $15 food voucher. So you can do a good thing and then eat some good food and drinks. The cafe is very clean. My girlfriend and I each ordered the turkey sandwich and loved it. One of the best sandwiches we have ever had. You can tell they take pride in their menu and quality. I highly recommend this place and plan to come back more often. read more

I am beyond thrilled that a place like Ocean Beach Cafe exists! It is exactly what the Outer Richmond needed. From the moment I walked in, the owner and the entire staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel like visiting a friend's place. The selection of non-alcoholic mocktails and retail bottles is truly exquisite it's rare to see this much variety and quality in one spot. I had the Epic Breakfast Sandwich, and it lived up to the name; it was absolutely incredible and so tasty. I also tried the seasonal Earl Grey Latte, which was delicious and perfectly balanced. I ended up grabbing a bottle of Woody NA sparkling wine to take home. I'm so excited to try it, especially knowing it's sustainably farmed by a winemaker in Healdsburg. Ocean Beach cafe is a very cool cafe and NA bar. They have a variety of NA beers/wines, probably the most curated selection of hot sauces I've ever seen to compliment your food, and good vibes. They have ample indoor seating as well as outdoor seating in a parklet. It felt like a relaxing spot. We got the spicy chicken sandwich with chips and I grabbed the garlic parm hot sauce from the communal hot sauce bar to add to the side. The sandwich was solid and very packed! It was pretty big and I actually took half to-go. It is a little pricey but that just might be the economy. I recommend stopping by for food and drinks especially after a beach a day! read more

Stumbled upon Ocean Beach Cafe because we wanted to use the Blackbird app. My friend got an iced matcha latte and I ordered a regular latte. Unfortunately, the app didn't work on the cafe's side, so we weren't able to get our drinks free like it was supposed to. We mentioned it to the staff, but they just said they've been having issues with the app. A little disappointing, especially since we didn't realize until after we got our drinks. As for the drinks--the iced matcha was super sweet, but my iced latte was solid. The real winner though? The Epic Breakfast Bagel Sandwich. WOW. Probably the best breakfast bagel sandwich I've had in a long time. Totally worth coming back just for that alone. The cafe itself is adorable, with a cozy vibe and an amazing location just a short walk from both Ocean Beach and Golden Gate Park. I came by Ocean Beach Cafe before heading out to Land's End and we picked up a passionfruit kouign amann and a drip coffee to go. The coffee is nice and strong, perfect for the typical cloudly, cold weather around Land's End and the kouign amann was nice and flaky with a sweet tart center. It's my first time here and wanted to try something new especially since it was a nice view of the ocean beach. When we came in, the lady didn't welcomed us in. You have to scan a QR code to see the full menu. I walked towards the lady with blonde hair, buzz cut hair, tattoos on her, can't miss it. She tried to charge us oak milk too. After we paid and we were waiting for our food, she called our order and she put the food on the table, was she expecting me to reach over the long brown table infront of another customer ? Then she later put down the food closer to me but she gave so much attitude in doing so. The other lady was so much nicer, I heard how she was giving the other customers a better customer service. I wished I had her to begin with. If I had the other lady we would've tipped but with the service we had today of course not. Food was good and okay, we ordered the avocado toast, it was okay, it was small for the price of 12$. We also ordered the epic breakfast sandwich which was 13$ that was so good & somehow much bigger. I would come back for that sandwich and the matcha latte (6$). I'll come back to give it another chance, maybe she was having a bad day and we all have those. You order your food at the register and they holler your name out when the food is ready. You also have to bust your own tables here. After a 6 mile walk with lots of stairs we were famished and did not want to drive too far to eat. Yelp led us to this charming cafe. It's unassuming yet has great food & nice outdoor seating (parklet with a sweet succulent garden). The prices are quite reasonable for what you get. The iced Matcha was delicious- nice and creamy. This place is so adorable and has so much to offer on their menu. We got the breakfast sandwich and the bread pudding. The breakfast sandwich comes on a bagel and has a huge slab of egg with cheese, as well as meat patty (we got a veggie one and it was great). It was so delicious and we really loved it. The bread pudding was also excellent. The only thing I would say about the bread pudding was that we paid $8-$10 for it, and they didn't really give you a whole lot that made it worth $8-$10, and you can tell they tried to cover up the small size by putting a bunch of whipped cream everywhere in the box. I suspected they did this because they were running out of it, but I'd rather they be honest about how much you're getting instead of trying to cover it up, hence my 4 stars. read more

If you're a fan mocktails or just need a bite while around Ocean Beach, look no further than Ocean Beach Cafe. When I came on a Saturday afternoon, they had a plate of sliced up sourdough baguette and local olive oil for snacking. I really loved the olive oil as it contained a lot of the bright olive notes without much of the bitterness. I've been meaning to try this place especially after Boisson, the nonalcoholic drink shop, closed down. This is the only other place I know of where you can buy nonalcoholic versions of spirits. Furthermore, they have a full menu of mocktails, hemptails, and nonalcoholic beer. They even have kava! I had 2 cocktails and a nonalcoholic beer. The first cocktail had adaptogens in it which made it funky like a slightly citrusy and bitter aftertaste in an otherwise sweet cocktail. Then, I asked them for their recommendations based on my experience with the first one and they recommended the drink that put them on the map - Destroyer of Bad Vibes (Melati classic, The Pathfinder, lemon, lime, and orange bitters). This one was a coffee forward drink with plenty of citrus notes. I felt that the flavors blended together much more nicely so there was no funky aftertaste. I like how I can come here and buy a can of a nonalcoholic beer too to sample instead of gambling on a 6 pack and prices are very reasonable.
