San Francisco is interesting..."bar crawl"...so many buildings and places to try...it was 2011 on Yelp.com...now it's going to chime at 2025...fun and cozy...years later...revisit places and life is a long crawl..got a lo-fi aperitif..played the jukebox app...is it new?

Dimly lit bar with a working fireplace in the middle behind a lounge couch. Drinks were okay. This vulva inspired wallpaper is cool though!

Watched a warriors game here with some locals. Bartender was very nice and also made a great hot toddy. The fireplace makes this a must for cozy bars on a cold night. :)

Cozy, dog-friendly, local bar with a warm fireplace inside. The resident doggo there is so sweet. The woman bartender was weirdly snarky while I was ordering. I asked her about a specific whiskey and she said they didn't have it, so I asked if they had a more standard whiskey and she was like yeah duh, we are a bar.. it was no big deal, just weird. I was having a hard day and didn't want to deal with the sarcastic sass. $21 + tip for a beer and a mixed drink. Went back another time and got an IPA on tap and the gentleman who helped me was much more chill. $9 + tip for the beer. Overall nice vibe and a small outdoor area.

A long wait at San Tung means an hour or so to kill. I looked up some bars in the area and was able to find this place about four blocks away. I walked in and it turns out I stumbled into their happy hour (1-7pm). I also walked in to find some furry friends so it seems like they're pet friendly as well. Right when I walked in I felt this sort of cozy comfort which is always a good feeling. I ordered the Evan Williams Old Fashioned ($9) which was a solid old fashioned. My second drink was the Templeton Rye Refresher ($10) which was good and refreshing as the name suggests. Fireside Bar seems like a cool spot with some TVs and even more locals. Everyone there seemed to know each other as well as the bartender. It's a good place to lounge around with some drinks and friends in a relaxing setting. Also, some reviews mention that it was cash only. When I went they did accept cards so that's nice!

Forget cat cafes, it's time for BARK Bars! If you enjoy having drinks and giving doggos belly rubs, this is a good place to be on a Friday night. On busy nights there can can be 3-5 dogs lounging in this bar. This is my favorite local bar - I live close by and have a dog - we like to come here on weeknights for a nightcap or happy hour. The ambiance is very cozy - a warm fire place with leather couches, red walls and dim lighting. A jukebox that allows you to queue music from your phone. The staff are friendly and are "local-oriented" - meaning they like to establish relationships with the regulars. If you aren't a regular and come to this bar you may notice a "change in demeanor" when they service you - perhaps they are more concise and serious - this doesn't mean they don't like you - you are a new customer and typically that calls for more formal behavior. I think that some can read into this behavior-change as perhaps the bartender being judgmental or rude. On busy nights you may need to be prepared to wait for service - and the bartenders really appreciate it when you bring empty glasses to the front! The rosehound and margaritas are quality drinks Love this place and the bartender Slader is awesome!

This is the most perfect beautiful bar! I live a block away and really this bar makes this already perfect neighbourhood even better. And the best thing about Fireside is our wonderful bartender Slader, super professional, fun and kind. Great conversation and drinks. We can't wait to come back!

My girlfriend and I closed out another bar, but wanted one more round of drinks. Stumbled into Fireside Bar on Friday, May 4rd around 12:45am. There were a fair amount of people here, but we still managed to find two seats at the bar. We were drinking Jameson at the other spot, so decided to do the same here. Got two pours of Jameson neat. One with a ginger back for my gf and a water for me. The pours here were a good size compared to the last bar. (They served their Jameson in a shot glass.) Not sure how much each drink was, but the total charged on my credit card with tax and tip was $17, so I'm guessing both drinks were $14? The atmosphere here was very lively, so we were able to have a conversation with the roommate via video chat. (My gf and him haven't seen each other in forever.) I know, we were that annoying pair talking on our phone the whole time. But no one gave us any sh!t which I appreciated. Everyone was just doing their own thing. Though I'm sure there were some people silently judging us. Good thing the bar was noisy. Fun place to close out Thursday night. It had been a while since I saw my gf, so we had a great time catching up. So glad Fireside allowed us to have one more round before the night ended.

The escape room is Alice In Wonderland themed and includes three drinks as part of the experience. Arrived on time for our reservation but were held in a waiting room for about 30 min before we could start. Didn't seem like anyone else was doing the escape room but it was also the week of their biz anniversary so maybe they were just super busy. Phoenix led our escape room and was such a delight. Friendly, great banter, helpful throughout the escape. The escape game is split across multiple rooms with a good diversity of puzzles. Don't want to spoil too much here but they were good challenges. Drinks we incorporated throughout and presented like test tubes that were drinkable in a gulp, kind of like a cocktail shot. Personally, I found the first two drinks to be a bit too sweet, but I liked the third, which was coconut forward. The price is definitely a bit more costly. It was $100/person for a party of five. I understand that it was an escape room + the staff + the cocktails. If you max out the party size, it's about $85-ish per person which I think is pretty solid. Still very unique and fun and glad I got to try it

We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

I usually am very anti-ordering the same main, but it could not be helped. It sounded too good, and it was, indeed, a really good burger. The bun was soft and fluffy but didn't collapse under the pressure of being held, which is make-or-break for a burger. I don't want my buns to turn into frisbees. The patty was cooked through, still tender, and well-seasoned. Quite fatty, so just know that! The combo of the sauce, cheese, and onions was fantastic, but it did make for a more slippery experience. As a result, my hand was covered in sauce and juices by the end, but our waitress had wet hand wipes on deck, which was amazing. The fries were perfect, quintessential shoestring fries. We tried the Yuzu Custard, Peach & Basil Shortcake, and Rum Butter Cake for dessert, and all were solid!! It is a mission of mine (very casual mission) to find and promote restaurants that have solid desserts because it was hard to execute but also so necessary for Sweet Tooth Nation. We don't mind regular bar noisiness but this was next-level.   We asked the server if we could move or if they could ask the table to take it down a notch since we were seated inside. The presumed manager then came over and rather snippily informed us she can't just "ask a table to stop talking", which of course, was misrepresenting our request and framing it as something unreasonable. IMO if you aren't able to speak to guests with kindness & understanding, even if you're unable to accommodate a request, you should maybe rethink your role in hospitality.   We settled on moving outside, which was totally fine, and finished our meal there. We then come to realize the staff knew the loud table next to us. It definitely left us feeling that their personal friendships were prioritized over kindness and respect toward other guests. The vibe was incredible, a live salsa band, everyone dancing, people having a good time... we definitely came on the perfect night! The band played until around 8 PM, which worked out perfectly because our dinner reservation was at 8:15. After dancing and enjoying the music, we got to watch one of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen from this rooftop. Such a beautiful way to start the evening. And the food made the experience even better! The menu is mostly small bites, so we ordered several dishes to share. We started with the classic ceviche, which was fresh, citrusy, and so good with the chips. We also had the al pastor tacos with pineapple, flavorful and a classic combination that worked perfectly. But the arepitas... OMG! Definitely my favorite. They come with three little arepas filled with shredded beef, and they were SO good. Between all the dishes, it was actually plenty of food for two people, and we left very satisfied. For drinks, we tried the guava and passion fruit mocktails, and both were refreshing and had really nice flavor. I've been to Cavana before, and I already thought it was a great place to stop for drinks or food before a concert at Chase Center or a Giants game. But this Sunday experience made me love it even more. It's also such a nice spot for a date night or just hanging out with friends. I don't know what the rest of their weekly schedule looks like, but this particular Sunday was a 10/10, salsa, great food, rooftop views, and a beautiful San Francisco sunset.
