Came to outback in wayne new jersey tonight since we're not from the area and figured how can you go wrong with outback? our food was great and our server Marisa was a DOLL! You can tell that this establishment is taken care of very well. All of the workers were practically smiling (under their masks) the whole time we were there. May I add the place was very clean which made us feel great since we've only been out a handful of times since last March. read more

My partner's family love to dine out at the Outback and we usually come here for dinner if we are visiting. We came in mid-October and had a decent meal. Both my partner and I were in the middle of a diet/lifestyle change (Whole30) so our options were limited. We both ordered steaks (with no oil, butter, or added seasoning) and our sides were steamed veggies and a sweet potato. Without all of the delicious butter, flavor, and seasoning, everything was just okay - but it was nice to dine out! On normal visits, the food is always pretty solid and the service is typically good. Reliable and straightforward. read more

Ate there Thursday recently and often in the past. Seems that they are understaffed, service is really slow and the quality of food has fallen. Ordered the onion appetizer, and it was the smallest I have ever had. Made a comment to the server and she said it all depends on what we get in. For 11 bucks it should be larger than an apple. One steak was well over cooked and had to be sent back. My two other children didn't complain, but their sirloin was tough and very chewy. They were hungry so they did not say anything until the end. I would have sent back as well if they said something. Will try other places in the future snd cook my own steak on the grill at home. read more

When we first went to Outback Steakhouse, we were expecting a much better experience then what we received that night. The service was terrible. I ordered a medium-well steak and they cooked it rare! It also had a lot of fat and the Bloomin' Onion was very greasy and fatty. The waiter also took about 20 minutes to give us our check, which is unacceptable for the price that we had to pay. All in all, Outback Steakhouse is a no-go. read more

Want a great burger or a delicious lunch ? With great drink specials? Meet your friends here! Service on point and the coconut shrimp, Devine. Not fancy but not a dive. Take out is proper...and the blooming onion is in my dreams read more

We love this place so glad it's close to home! The food is delicious, staff is great.

Arrive at 1:00 to a nearly empty restaurant and waited 10 minutes for a host to seat us. All diners were sitting in one area and of course they put us smack dab in the middle of a party of 10 and a party of 8. Why seat people on top each other when so dead? Waiter seemed very rushed to take our order and upon being there we assumed they were under staffed for the hostess was also bussing tables. Ordered steak salad and blooming onion special with ribs. Took 30 mins for food to come as we sit I'm on 2 large parties (party of 2) when we finally got our food my steak was over cooked and cold. Blooming onion was cold. The party of 10 finally finished up and left and their table was cleaned with "cooking oil" and boy did it smell! Our bill came to $37 bucks thanks to $4.00 normal ice teas!! Crazy price will never go back. read more

I don't know why we always end up at this place. Usually because it's the only option. But it is uniformly terrible. The food is either cold, baked under the heat lamp, or entirely bland. Avoid them! read more

I have never had a bad experience at outback in my entire life. The staff has always been incredibly friendly, helpful, and provided the best possible service they can. I came into the restaurant tonight with my girlfriend and her friend from college, we walk in and it's an entire staff that I have never seen. The manager, was absolutely black out drunk, personally witnessed her down two glasses filled entirely with vodka. We ordered appetizers and a drink each, 2 out of the 3 appetizers came and they were not what we ordered, and OH also didn't come with plates. The servers were, legally speaking, not old enough to be even taking drink orders, let alone serving them, and yet didn't ID any of us as well. Everything that did come, was wrong in some way shape or form wrong. The one saving grace, and I hope for the owner's sake was the bartender Serena. While also being the only person behind the bar, having the manager hounding her for drinks, also acting as a server, AND made a specific point to tell me her name and to ask her if we needed anything. Fire the manager and the staff that quite literally was gossiping in front of our table like a bunch of middle schoolers. Never experienced anything, at any restaurant for that matter, even remotely like this. All I have to say is shocked . . . read more

Ordered for Mother's Day curbside. Was disappointed in the meal. French fries were cold and soggy. Ordered the mushrooms and it looked like they just took them out of the refrigerator. Also didn't get their bread. Will not be ordering grom them again read more

I used to go here every single Thursday night for about two years straight. We always got the Bloomin onion, cheese fries and a mad max burger too. I always left feeling full and satisfied. I always enjoyed the initial taste as well as the aftertaste of all the food that I ate. And I always enjoy the atmosphere. They used to even have a picture of Paul Hogan on the wall. I hope to return soon and enjoy a meal again. read more

What a disaster. Pick up order was 45 mins late. Forgot the utensils. Put bacon in sour cream after I asked for no bacon Both my husbands steak and my ribeye was almost raw. Had to cook it more when we got home Another customer waiting said he asked for some compensation for the long wait and was told sorry nothing we can do. Shame on this local business that we always supported. read more

For a chain restuarant, Outback is a good option. Not special in any way but a decent, very satisfactory dining experience. Decor is nothing special. I did not notice any background music at lunch today. Our server was OK but "confused" my lunch special fish taco order with a dinner order - in part my fault but he should have asked. The fish tacos were good. I had sauted mushrooms on the side which were very nice. My friend had a burger with fries - very good as well. I have been to a couple of their locations. A good choice, similar to Applebees. read more

Service is lacking and both steaks came out completely wrong and no where close to what was ordered (well done and medium well). By the time we got it corrected we lost our appetite and ended up leaving shortly after paying for the bill. Manager was apologetic and gave us complimentary appetizer cards (disappointed) but they should have taken off one of the steaks which wasn't eaten and taken home and thrown away. Maybe it was a bad day but I will try again and see if quality improves read more

I absolutely love the food and service. Been there at least 20 times always had a good experience.

Hey I really don't do chain restaurants but outback is good. Coconut shrimp never disappoints. I always order the ny strip med well with the loaded fries. Tall 22oz fosters to go with it. Can enjoy your meal and move over to bar for a few beers. Family and local place. Always packed . No problems here. Prefer to eat there . Take out can get hectic read more

Best steakhouse around great value and really helps out the community. The larger ribeye is the way to go best value and save room for the cheesecake with caramelqocmas-niqtiq-dExvy6 read more

Hosted our 8th grade fundraiser. Staff was very attentive and welcoming. Plenty of options to choose from. Fun evening was had by all.

This place is always packed. I cant understand why. The food is horrible. The service is slow yet the parking lot is always full. The people who eat here either never had a great steak or their moms were horrible cooks and they didn't know it and eat anything. Just horrible. read more

So I decide not to cook Sunday dinner and took the family to Outback. Our waitress Monica was very nice and pleasant. She wore a smile throughout our entire dining experience. She was knowledgeable about all the items on the menu and answered all our questions flawlessly. She exceeded all of my customer service expectations that I had to express my satisfaction and gratitude to her supervisor. Job well done Monica!!! Keep smiling and keep up the amazing work! read more

This is my boyfriend & I's go to whenever we're in the mood for affordable steak. The steak quality itself is always a solid 3.5 or 4 out of 5. We have come here various times on separate occasions however the most recent was for my boyfriends mothers birthday dinner. We made a reservation for about 6-7 of us but they didn't have a table prepared which was.. questionable in my opinion in terms of satisfying the party. The service is also hit or miss; It really depends on your waiter or waitress. Our last waitress, I forgot her name but she was such a pleasure & so sweet. Let's talk DEALS - you truly have to pay attention to your receipt when paying because sometimes they can make mistakes but there's a really great deal where you can get unlimited shrimp & a steak of your choice in oz. for less than $20 (not including drinks, etc.) which is what we did the day we visited. Everything was delicious - ordered my steak 6oz - medium well - with garlic butter shrimp - mashed potatoes & asparagus & it was all delectable. Steak was juicy & very tasty. Shrimp was a little too small in my opinion.. I just feel like if you're gonna do unlimited you may as well give the bigger shrimp so people can get full faster but hey not my deal! Either way awesome place, decent prices, outback is a new favorite :) read more

This Outback Steakhouse is located in a strip mall in Wayne, NJ, next to Corrado's. Although the strip mall was busy, I had no problem parking near the restaurant. Also, the restaurant was nearly full at the time but I had no wait in getting a table. I only needed a light meal so I ordered the Bloomin' Onion. Service was attentive and reasonably fast. The complimentary bread and butter was quite good as well. The restroom looked clean. Setting aside that this is a chain restaurant, it gets full marks for all those factors. I'm still wondering what happened to the stuffed kangaroos this chain had back in the 90s. read more

This place was good. Nothing crazy exceptional about it though. I had the steak salad which I didn't think I'd like with pecans, but was a great combo. I had a Fosters, which I had no complaints about. The place was definitely packed so we sat at the bar. I don't mean to give this place only three stars as a sign of any type of negative, just nothing really special to it. Wouldn't put it as a repeat. read more

Very good Outback Steakhouse. Came for dinner tonight with my boyfriend. We were told it was a 35 minute wait. While we were waiting, some staff brought around free samples of appetizers. I thought that was really nice. We tried buffalo wings and jalapeño shrimp. They were told, and it helped the wait go by faster. We were seated 35 minutes on the dot. Our server was nice, but we had to wait a little long to get silverware and napkins. I had the sirloin, and my boyfriend had prime rip. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. We also each had house salads and baked potatoes for our sides. They were good. We did not have dessert. For a busy night, this place is very good, and service doesn't falter. read more

This is one of the best chain restaurants for your value. The reliable classics to go by are the coconut shrimp, prime rib and sweet potatoes with honey butter and cinnamon. One con for this place is that despite a huge parking lot in front of it because it's part of a strip mall. On a Friday night or even any weekend night, the parking lot is so full that you will be either circling for a spot or park in Egypt! I would suggest before 6 p.m since the crowd starts coming in at that time. Another con is if you're seated near the bar area which is shaped as a "U" and you're on the side in the back, the server may not see you if you need attention (for example... more bread, where's my drinks?, where's my food?). oh.. just thinking about that baked sweet potato with honey butter and cinnamon - salivating delicioso read more

Horrible service. We have come here on several occasions and each time I promise myself that I will not come here again. An hour plus to get your dinner on average. When it does arrive the food is OK, on occasion the steak is warm. The cheese steak sandwich was excellent , for a change. Would definitely suggest that. read more

Just went back tonight--definitely take advantage of the 15% off your order by showing the AARP membership card (thanks, Dad). However, it seems the portions have gotten smaller--specifically the Bloomin' Onion and side salads. The Outback Special 12 oz. cut is very good and cooked perfectly, except they serve you it on the same small plates you get your appetizers on...you're constantly losing things off your platter when you cut the meat. I felt like it was going to slide off at any time. They should definitely serve the entrees on larger plates to avoid anything hitting the floor or table. At least the service is still top-notch. read more

Love Outback but first time to this location. The bread is the best ever when it is sent out warm. Love the bread. Today I decided on the Glazed Pork chops with asparagus. The Pork chop was cooked very good. Very. Juicy when I cut it. The asparagus was slightly over cooked but good. But love the bread. Got the carrot cake for dessert. That was quite tasty. The location was noise friendly this evening. Not as loud as I remember it at other Outbacks. read more

Our service was amazing and our waitress, Marissa, was so sweet! We got the bloomin onion and aussie cheese fries (our favorite). I got the alice springs chicken with a side of broccoli and mashed potatoes and my husband got the strip steak with a salad and baked potato. Everything was cooked to perfection and given to us in a timely manner. We love outback but have never been to this location. Safe to say we'll be coming back! read more

Something this is going on with the help at this restaurant so I suggest this place be avoided until whatever it is is corrected. I visited the Wayne NJ location on Friday February 24, 2023 at approximately 3pm. Wow the meal couldn't have been much worse. My burger was cold, almost raw and the bun was hard from being stale. The baked potato was cold, so cold that nothing was melting on it. They put the tomato and lettuce at the bottom of the burger. Thinking now I should have looked at it to see what else they may have put there. I was going to speak up but I was with a guest and didn't want to potentially ruin his meal or cause our conversation to be affected negatively by me being upset and complaining. The question is why. The cook obviously knew, the server obviously knew. Just by looking at the dish it was obvious. I wonder why. I do know I have no intention of visiting this location any time soon or any other Outback for that matter. I have been disappointed before, but this time I am almost positive it was intentional. read more

My husband and I used to eat at this Outback location at least once every month or so. Food was decent, ambience ok and we never had any real issues. Last week, I had a Steakhouse Salad with two Blackberry Martinis for dinner. My husband had a pork chop and my granddaughter had chicken fingers. Later that night, I woke up with the most horrendous food poisoning I've ever encountered!!?! I won't go into details, but I was sick from around midnight until about 4 AM. I thought I was going to die!! Obviously, I didn't make it to work the next day. I wrote a review on the Outback webpage, and within 5 minutes, partner/manager, Dennis Johnson called and left me a voicemail hoping I was feeling better and to call him back. I did. Twice. I even left a message at the restaurant. He never called back. We don't recommend the place and won't be going back again. EVER. read more

Decent food; horrible service. Our waiter could barely have been less attentive. Every facet of the dining experience took longer than it should have. Hoping I can convince my children to never eat here again. 3 stars because our first visit included good service. read more

Went there twice both times waited over 2 hours for the food to come and left without eating. Very poorly ran, management is a joke. Call ahead seating is also a joke. They said 40 min wait and we left the house 30mins later so we got there only to wait an hour instead if the 10/20 we expected since we "called ahead". Def avoid this place !! read more

I was there two nights ago & we sat in the bar area. Waited a really long time for service & then for drinks. I ordered the Sangria again & it was just as good as the first time I had it months ago. It was excellent again. read more

Came in on Sunday night with my mother and it was VERY busy. Despite how many people were there we felt like we were taken such great care of by our waiter Crystal. She is so funny. The food was great. The manager Dennis stopped by while sweeping the floor and I thought it was really cool to see a manager actually rolling up their sleeves and helping out the staff. Will be back soon read more

I love the Outback in Wayne. Ive been to a couple of others but this one is above and beyond. The food and service is always consistently good. I have never been disappointed with the food there, wether it be drinks and appetizers with the girls, dinner with the family, or a quick pick up for lunch. But, if you're looking for romantic dinner for two, this is not the place for you. We were particularly impressed the last time we went, with our waitress, Marissa. She was attentive, friendly and made great recommendations. The Manager that night, Sandra was equally pleasant. She came around to make sure we were being taken care of. Hard to believe this is a chain restaurant. The place is very clean and the booths are separated by a divider above the seats to protect against Covid. I cant wait until the Ahi tuna comes back on the menu, as it is my personal favorite. Highly recommend Outback in Wayne and looking forward to our next visit! read more
