Update: 12/06/2016 Came here for the sirloin steak and unlimited shrimp for 15.99 after work. The steak was very good for a $10 steak. :) Nice taste. The loaded baked potato was very fresh and tasty. The shrimp on the other hand is a different story. The taste was flat. It had no flavor and the quality of the shrimp itself is so so and very small shrimp. The male bartender, who was very nice, asked if I wanted to get another shrimp plate in. I declined. No one in the right mind would want seconds of this. So this is how Outback makes money. Advertise unlimited shrimp and then give shrimp so mediocre that no one would want seconds. Sad but true fact of marketing to get people to come in. The strawberry lemonade tasted gross and supersweet. It didn't taste real. The female bartender had an unpleasantness about her like she is ready for a fight every time someone asks her a question. She asked me a question. I couldn't make out what she was saying so I asked her what she said. She had a look like she ready to fight with me. Not sure why these people work in customer facing jobs. The host on the other hand, was very cool, as usual. Hence, the 4-star rating instead of 5. Why do they hire people like this at restaurants? Next time I will order the steak without the shrimp. Update: 10/08/2017 The filet mignon medium was good. A solid 4-stars. Missing a little bit of flavor. read more

Outback Steakhouse - Steakhouses Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Came here for dinner because the hubs wanted to try out the AYCE shrimp. I ordered the small filet (medium rare) with mashed potatoes, grilled shrimp and a side salad. The filet was tough and took me a while to chew and chew ... and chew each bite. The mashed potatoes were good, shrimp was salty and my side salad was decent. The hubs got a filet with the AYCE shrimp - the shrimp were tiny. Probably bay shrimp. And they gave very small portions. He tried the scampi, buffalo and fried. The scampi, if we were forced to choose were probably the tastiest out of the three. We also ordered the cake pop trio for dessert and it was SO sweet we couldn't finish it. The only good experience throughout the whole thing was that our server was very friendly. read more

I have been to this Outback two times in the past 2 years. My most recent experience was much better than the first, which would explain why it took me so long to even try it again! Really, I was dragged here by my in-laws, who love the surf and turf special they currently have. You can get a lobster tail, a sirloin, and a baked potato for $9.99. It's a good price for some decent food. Unfortunately, we splurged on the giant onion blossom and the artichoke appetizer. The onion blossom was really good - I must have been craving fried onions cuz oooh baby, they were good. They were a little greasy, especially near the end, but I had my fill. The artichoke appetizer was good as well. Everyone thought it would be flat bread but this was tortilla thin. Still, not bad. Then came the meal. My steak was ordered medium rare but came more medium-well. The taste wasn't bad, but I've had better steaks at home. The lobster was pretty good and the baked potato was meh. I didn't eat it all, but who needs all those extra carbs? Overall, it wasn't a terrible experience. I'm not a big fan of franchise dining, but my in-laws chose the place. I probably won't go back on my own volition, but if the in-laws wanted to, I wouldn't say no. read more

Ehhhhhhh. Had blooming onions. It just didn't look appetizing in real life. Ordered the appetizer trio with coconut shrimp. Crab avocado lump with tortilla chips, and ahi tuna. The shrimp was really bad. Puny shrimp overly deep fried with maybe a flake of coconut shaving on top? The other two were edible. Steak was edible. Eh. What I found surprising (amusing? Confusing?) Was that every time our glasses were about half full, someone would automatically give us a new glass of water or soda. So by the end of meal, there were like 9 glasses on the table for the four of us. read more

I think Outback May have stepped up their game! This was by far one of the most pleasant experiences I've had here, food wise. It took a while for it to come out but it was worth the wait. The steak was hot, juicy and delicious. Baked potato was hot and yummy too. My daughters grilled chicken kids meal was delicious; a nice juicy chicken breast (fairly large) and a good sized side of fruit (delicious oranges and strawberries, not your typical melon and grape crap ). I am however, a little appalled at paying nearly $4 for a soda. ($3.79 seems a little high.) Waitress was sweet and attentive. read more

Me and my boys love to come here and watch the fighting games! We absolutely love their food!

Visited this Outback for lunch. Place was not busy. I ordered a 6 ounce sirloin with steamed brocolli and a diet soft drink. Others ordered similar plates. Sirloin and steamed brocolli were cooked the way I requested. Diet Coke was off on taste as confirmed by two of us. Ordered water instead. A good server would have adjusted the bill but that was overlooked. Paid with a decent tip. Nothing really special here. Prices are moderate. Lots of choices in Paradise Valley Area. For me.... Last time here. read more

The last time I did takeout at this location it was great. This time I decided to try their new meatloaf dish. Big mistake. For 13.99 I received a 4 inch by 2 inch piddly slice. Nothing like the pictures. You get one side and I decided to upgrade for 2.99 and try their Brussel sprouts. The meatloaf was supposed to be premium meat but it had hard things in it like rocks and clumps of fat. The new sauces Outback has been creating for their dishes are not working for me. These sauces and the new one on the pork are not worth the effort. Brussels were ok but won't get again. What a waste for the taste, amount, and quality-16.49 for lunch. read more

Went here for dinner on 5/9, party of 3. I got a coupon in the mail for $8 off 2 entrees. Kudos to Outback, the coupon says 'or $4 off one entree', which is something I like, you should not have to miss out on discounts if you are dining on your own. Our server was a young man, very friendly and nice. I had the New York strip, it was good, cooked as I ordered. Hubby had a steak sandwich and he liked it very much as well. We don't eat as much as we used to, so we had a little left overs. I didn't try the bread, but they did like it and had like 2 pieces I believe. I had a side salad with blue cheese and it was fresh and tasty. But, the surprise of the night were the green beans. I am doing low carb and thought it was a good idea to try them. They have never been a favorite of mine but these ones were delicious. They had this buttery flavor and they were bright green and crisp. I think I almost ate them all before tasting my steak. Not so good was the dish that our daughter ordered. Well, the dish itself she liked, but the portion was way too small. I believe it was the Seafood Mixed Grill, which is mahi, scallops and shrimp. I didn't count the shrimp but it had 2 scallop pieces, and a small piece of mahi that was like an ounce or so... It was probably smaller than the lunch portions at other restaurants. : ( She finished it and was still hungry so we shared some of our food with her. When our server stopped by to ask how we were doing we mentioned it and it seems we are not the only ones not very pleased with that portion : ( $9-$12 would maybe have been OK for that dish, but it was around $17, so thumbs down on that mini Seafood Mixed Grill. read more

Went here for dinner with the family service was on point food was good. My only complaint is I hate those little zoosk systems my 6 yr old grabbed it to view the children's menu that's the only place that it's available to view and it charged us $2 for a button she accidentally pushed no biggie they removed it and said it happens all the time. I just prefer to give my server a bill with my money and not have a tablet on my table. read more

I'm just going to start off by saying I've given this place enough chances, and have held off by saying anything negative but my last visit drained whatever remaining patience and understanding I had for the servers at this establishment. Firstly, my father in law has certain needs due to a disability, and he's usually more comfortable at the large circular tables than at the booths or half booth/half tables. We usually ALWAYS ask for the larger tables because of this, explaining our situation. 'Oh, we're sorry we don't have a server for that table' we hear, accompanied with a smile feigning sincerity or giving a crap. So we end up at one of the half booth tables...which is literally maybe three steps from where we originally requested to be seated. Really, REALLY?You can't bother your servers with walking a few extra steps to ensure an elderly mans comfort? Just, WOW. Those few extra steps they save certainly never make the service any quicker, waited forever just to get our drinks in (oh while the two sets of people who were sat sometime after us were already getting their food...not even joking folks) So while we were all unceremoniously crammed into some tight butt seating area (there were seven of us...) dying of dehydration, we eventually managed to put our food order in. This well after the noisy people sitting right on top of us (at a time the restaurant was literally nearly vacant...gotta save those servers from walking folks!) had already devoured their food. For once the bloomin' poison...I mean onion wasn't burnt into nuclear waste, so they get half a foil star sticker for that little plus, but that's pretty much it. Food took forever to get there and our server couldn't wait to get us out the door (that's okay, we were so disgruntled from bumping our elbows into one another the entire time that we were anxious to leave anyways) Just one bad experience too many, we'll be taking our business elsewhere to places that're more accommodating to peoples needs, thanks. read more

Walked in and had to wait for the host to show up. Got seated git drinks order, all fine no issues. I ordered the Crab-topped Steak and my wife the Crab-stuffed Shrimp. When the food arrived what I got was a steak that had a (frozen) crab cake placed on top and some sauce poured over it. I ordered my steak medium and it arrived rare. I promise you blood poured out when i cut it. It was sent back and they made another this one arrived med-rare and I thought, screw it and said it was fine. you could easily tell they had smashed the steak onto the grill with that flat iron thing, I do not know its name, The one side of the steak was smooth. My wife got shrimp that was rubbery and had a cut up crab cake placed on each shrimp. Not worth our time and not worth our money. She liked her sweet potato and my garlic Mashed potato was real good but..... the manager came by and chatted with us and said we could come back and he would personally cook for me but I think I will not be going back. We stopped going to this chain years ago because the quality of food had serious dropped. we hoped that time had fixed this, but it had only made things worse. read more

The service was great and everyone was super friendly. The food... Wonderful! My steak came out perfectly and the flavors were absolutely delicious. The other meal was also cooked to order at a completely different temperature yet neither meal was luke warm or seemed like they had been sitting while the other meal was cooked. Normally a 5 star rating, but Friday night was a 1 star orly. To begin, not crowded at all (it was late) and service was slow. All of the food was extremely salted, and over cooked. They said that they had to change the oil and brought out new fries. Had this been our first time there, it would have been the last. Usually the food is great! read more

Last night was such a horrible experience, we had to send my boyfriends steak back twice after he asked for medium well and it kept coming back so bloody and when we finally talked to the manager and she dismissed it like it wasn't a big deal because and that's they only mess up on one steak out of so many. she wasn't understanding that the entire experience was ruined because I had finished my food before my boyfriend finally got his the right way. We watched the guy next to us sent his steak back twice and still get it back wrong so we knew it wasn't just us. My boyfriend had expressed to the manager that maybe something is going on with the cook but she said everything was fine. There needs to be some sort of empathy when you're a manager and I understand that a lot of people that complain at a restaurant but don't discredit us just because you don't get a lot of complaints. read more

This being my first experience dining in at a restaurant since the coronavirus changed our lives, I was anxious and unsure if I was going to order my food or "brave it" and dine in. I opted for the latter. I'm pleased to say Outback knocked it outta the park. My server /bartender Casey was so nice and hospitable. And the food! Not only was my steak cooked a *perfect* medium rare, but the coconut shrimp I got as a starter were so hot and crunchy I could barely handle them! So delicious. I was very impressed with their efforts at social distancing; they had "stop signs" on every stool that was "not to be used" (this included all bar stools) and only every other booth in the bar was available to dine at. The restaurant was practically empty at 8:30 on a Friday night but it was literally their first day open for dine-in so I'm sure it'll pick up. Very happy and I'd recommend this location to everyone. read more

Came here after church with some family and friends. Had a great time we received great service our waitress was awesome just as my Diet Coke was empty she would be dropping of another that's always big with me I don't my drink to be empty and she did great the rest of the visit was good. The restaurant was clean the bathrooms were also clean. Food was delicious I got the prime rib sandwich it was so good dip it in the au jus you the sandwich was so good Mmmmm. My only complaint is that the French fries tasted old and were really salty that seemed to be the same for everyone at the table. My wife got the bbq ribs and chicken she said the ribs and chicken coookes perfect very tender but the bbq sauce was ok tasted like it came straight out of the bottle. All in all it was a good experience and will be back again. read more

I got take out. Salad and soup and ribeye steak meal. Steak quality poor. Salad sub par. Did enjoy the loaded potato soup.

I had not eaten at the Outback steakhouse in years, but after a long & grueling day, I decided to give it a try again. This place is located at 4715 E. Cactus rd, Phoenix by Tatum & Cactus Rd....in the Walmart Center. I ordered a 30.00 steak medium rare Steak with a Salad & baked potato. The first couple of bites were full of Fat & Gristle , so I needed to cut down the steak in bite sized pieces in order to actually eat the meat. I trimmed and trimmed and Cut & Cut ....until I ended up with about 55-60% of actual meat. Believe me the effort was hardly worth the effort - what was left was tasteless and down right bad. when the waitress came to ask me how the meal was going, I told her the truth , that the steak was poor and not even worth the effort. when she agreed with me that I had a right to be Unhappy, She assured me that the manager would come by shortly to have a talk. Well 10 minutes later, No Manager, No word from anyone. So I laid my cash on the table and left. Unforfortunaely I would have better to have missed this meal and gone to Walmart and bought some mediocle meat form their butcher - and cooked myself a meal on my own barbeque. I am sorry to have wasted my money & time to have some a poorly cooked & lousy lunch like this. Save yourself the time & money, stay home and use your own barbeque . I know that I will avoid this place in the future. bruce ONE STAR AT MOST read more
