It's called "Mother Earth" and is one of their unique bowls with just the right variety of sweet, salty, tangy, and earthy flavors and textures from crunchy and chewy to creamy. There were ancient grains: quinoa, farro, and barley, and roasted sweet potatoes, portobello mushrooms, avocado, cucumber and greens, and pesto and hemp seed topping. A side of grilled tofu made for a tasty protein accompaniment, I enjoyed the complimentary infused with citrus water which refreshed me as did looking at their cheery lemon decorated wall. Ordering was easy at the counter and pleasant staff explained everything I had a question about and delivered my bowl to the table with cheeriness. My only suggestion would be that a small piece of special bread should be part of a salad or soup if requested as that would round out the meal. read more

I'm honestly really disappointed with my experience at Flower Child. The portion sizes have gotten terribly smaller. The sides used to fill the bowl, but now there was nearly an inch of empty space around each side serving on a small bowl of an entree order. For what I paid, it was pretty shocking. The customer service was incredibly uncomfortable. The cashier acted like I was bothering him just by ordering, and barely acknowledged me. I would have been happy to tip, but I'm not going to lie, it crossed my mind that maybe the tiny portions were punishment for not tipping which obviously shouldn't be the case, but that's how the interaction left me feeling. What made it even stranger was that when the restaurant was slow, all of the employees were huddled behind one register chatting amongst themselves. I stood there waiting while they finished their conversation, and when they finally helped me, there was barely a smile or any friendly interaction. As a customer, it felt like I was inconveniencing them by being there. I spent $25 for one plate and a drink and left hungry and in a bad mood. I've enjoyed Flower Child in the past, but between the significantly smaller portions and the poor customer service, I don't think I'll be back. Only giving two stars vs one because the food is amazing!!! Just not enough with a bad attitude. Hope it gets better. read more

This is hands-down my favorite Flower Child location. It's right next to Whole Foods, and it's much larger than most of the other locations, so there is plenty of parking. The patio is huge and is one of my favorite places to sit and enjoy lunch. The salads are always fresh, and my favorite is the Caesar salad with avocado I've eaten here quite a few times, and the food is consistently good. The staff is also super friendly, which makes the experience even better. It's close to HomeGoods, the new IKEA mini store, and several other shops, so it's the perfect place to grab a healthy lunch before or after a little retail therapy. Highly recommend. read more

MAN oh man, one of the best places I have been in awhile! Flower Child, you stole my heart. We came to Scottsdale to visit friends for the week and came here twice. Terrible service. The tables are first come first serve. We wait in a busy line with our young kids and get to the front to order and are told we cannot order because there are no tables ready. We ask for our food to go then. As we are paying we see a table open up and ask to sit there and eat there instead and are told no you can't have that table now it's someone else's because your food is to go. They have no idea what they are doing in there when they are busy or how to accommodate guests fairly and appropriately. Definitely will not be back. read more

This was my second visit to flower child in a couple of years (I don't live in Phoenix, but I visit friends who do). The ambience is clean and bright, the service is always lovely, and the food is delicious. Both times I got a bowl with forbidden rice and topped it with salmon. So amazing and healthy, at the same time! My husband got a steak entree and added broccoli and Mac and cheese. He LOVED his meal so much, he asked to go back a few days later! The Mac and cheese was gluten-free (which we are not) but was so amazing and rich that you couldn't even tell! Folks who live in Phoenix are so lucky to have this gem!!! read more

Having grown up in the Tatum and Cactus area, I spent time regularly at the Paradise Valley Mall. I was saddened when it closed in 2021 though I had no idea what would replace it. I've been excited each time something new has opened in the newly reimagined PV from a central park and community gathering place along with dining and retail options. The first of the locations to open in the new PV was Flower Child in September 2024. Having already eaten at a Flower Child location before, I knew what to expect, but with it opening in my neighborhood, it felt like an entirely new experience! The food itself includes salads, bowls, wraps, entrees, desserts, drinks, and family packs. My wife and I enjoy the entrees as we pick a protein and then two sides. My wife enjoys the tofu while I most recently had the steak. Our favorite sides include the mac and cheese, Yuzu brussel sprouts, and roasted broccoli. I have also enjoyed the Rebel Wrap before (including grass-fed steak, charred onion, port salut cheese, arugula, horseradish yogurt). We have never been disappointed with a meal at Flower Child, and the PV location continues this positive trend. I also have to note the service, which has always been great with quick preparation whether a to-go order or dine-in order and staff greeting us upon arrival and thanking us upon leaving. The staff bringing food to us has also been very helpful and kind. They also have complimentary infused water outside (as it is Arizona after all!). The positive service is one of the reasons I enjoy going to dine in instead of just taking food to go. Through the Flower Child website (www.iamaflowerchild.com), you can place an online order or even order catering in advance. You can also sign up for a rewards program which also includes giveaways and freebies. Right now, "Happy Weeks" are happening with new rewards dropping every week all season long. You can also win free Flower Child food for a year. It is also a Fox Restaurant, which always means good things! In fact, Flower Child is often thought of as the most healthy of the Fox Restaurants. When I first arrived in Phoenix, Flower child was one of my go to restaurants. I always get the barbecue chicken wrap and sweet potato fries. The portion size has been erratic lately especially at the Paradise Valley location. Food quality is also heading in the wrong direction. I got my order to go and when I got in the car my sweet potato fries were cold! I don't mean not hot I mean cold. I ate them anyway because I don't believe in taking food back, you never know what's going on back there. I got home to eat my chicken wrap and when I picked it up I could tell it was a lot smaller than normal and all of the chicken was bitten off in one bite. Most likely I won't be going back to this location, I may give the Desert Ridge location another try. I asked for the beef to be well done and I added tomatoes. I think the tomatoes totally added that extra freshness needed for such a savory wrap. My order only took ten minutes and I was on the road and home in 20 minutes. My first bite of my Mother Earth Bowl brought such a mixture of delicious sensations and I made a loud verbal yummmmm noise! It is the perfect meal.
