Friends, I have driven past LongHorn multiple times over the years but never stopped! Well, that was a HUGE mistake. We stopped in to celebrate my partners college graduation and the service was incredible. Dale, our server, made fantastic recommendations and the food quality and quantity DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The restaurant was full of happy conversations and everyone was enjoying the great food, beverages and service being provided. The manager came by and welcomed us in, as it was our first time! So tonight it was Longhorn Steakhouse. Appetizer: Chicken bites spicy. Hubby: Lamb Chops, Spinach, mashed Potato. Me: Shrimp & Lobster Chowder Strawberry, Grape pecan side salad Cheesecake with Strawberry. The 5 lamb chops were cooked to a perfect medium rare and had more flavor closer to the bone. My husband enjoyed them. The potatoes were creamy and hot and wilted spinach was good. My chowder was very tasty and I enjoyed the bread served with the meal. My salad was fresh and the fruit was well placed on the greens. Enjoyable The dessert was REALLY good. A light cheese cake with strawberry sauce and fresh strawberries. I found one of many coupons for Longhorn on line giving me a free dessert. (I had a choice of toppings). The service was excellent and the kitchen delivered food hot, and in a timely manner. Such a great dining room , warm and inviting , good for families and date nights . We had the Parmesan crusted artichoke dip with the most amazing oniony flavored pita chips , next grilled New York steak , cooked perfectly medium rare and the flavors were very precisely rubbed on . Brussels sprouts were crispy and delicious . For me I had the burger , and it is my issue at most restaurants that when I order extremely rare , it usually comes out rare medium rare , not here , it was perfect , absolutely rare and the flavors were awesome . We were immediately greeted with a very wonderful young lady, who asked where we'd like to be seated, and led the way to a very dim lit booth next to the bar so hubby could watch the remainder of the ASU game, which he had a perfect view. The ambiance was warm, inviting and clean. We were then approached by a wonderful waitress (Ana I believe) who remained attentive throughout our meal and was easily steered our way when I changed my mind and decided to order the Wild West Shrimp appetizer. Came back with fresh hot loaf of bread and then our drinks from the bar. Took our main order and asked all the specifics. Everything was amazingly fresh, hot, toasty and made Exactly as we ordered it. 2nd time here and we'll Definitely be back again. I've been to this location many times and it always seems like something is lacking. This visit was no different. We had a gift card from Christmas, so we figured, why not?? Tonight it was busy but we only had a short 5 minute wait. Our server (Katie/Kate?) was friendly and provided great service - I've never had bad service here. Wild West Shrimp appetizer is our go-to and it's always delicious. My husband ordered a 12oz Ribeye (med) with loaded baked potato, I got the 6oz Flo's filet (med) & lobster and son got a 9pc chicken strips meal. My filet came out slightly overcooked and Hubby's ribeye was slightly undercooked - so we switched. No big deal. But the flavor was definitely lacking. The lobster was really fishy tasting - so disappointing. Bathrooms were not kept clean; toilet paper and toilet protectors on the floors and the sink area was a mess. Came to dinner for my mom's birthday. She wanted a lowkey steak night and thought Longhorns would be good. We had an absolutely awesome night and dinner. The food was delicious, everything we ate was awesome. I especially liked my dish which was the Parmesan crusted chicken and the fresh bread they start you with is so good. My boyfriend and mom had steak and both liked their dishes! However the highlight was definitely our server, Michael B. Michael was such a great server! He was attentive and kept making sure we were all good with our order and with refills. He was super friendly and at the end of the night completely surprised us by bringing out an ice cream birthday sundae for my mom. It totally made her night! She had opted out of dessert because she had felt full but still ate most of the ice cream and was super happy. Michael brought a candle and everything so we could sing to her. It totally made her night! He definitely went above and beyond for us and I really appreciated it. Great experience overall, would definitely recommend this location. read more

The downside was that I was told twice my side of Mac & Cheese would be out shortly. It never came and I only realized it on the drive back to Flagstaff. I got some takeout here yesterday. It was delicious. I ordered a garden side salad, stuffed mushrooms and chicken wings. The blue cheese dressing was top notch. Better than most "fancy" restaurants. The portions were large - they even gave me a full loaf of bread and butter. The service was efficient. I will definitely keep this on the list of takeout places. Went for lunch, ordered a Rib Eye, it was overcooks and tough. This picture reflects the 2nd one, and was a little better, pinker, but still not medium rare, and still tough. Server was wonderful, but clearly the kitchen need help cooking a steak MR, and there is no excuse for a steakhouse to serve any steak tough. Stick with the cheeseburger, they do get that right. It had been a while since we'd been to a Longhorn but we were in the area and hubby suggested it so why not? My one main issue, which I've had at other places too, is that they sat us (a party of 2) right next to a party of about 12. As you can imagine, a party of this size can get loud. I think hosts need to consider this when seating other parties. The restaurant was relatively empty so not sure why they need to seat us all in a cluster. As for the food, everything was good. I had the steak and shrimp combo. Shrimp was delicious, and came over a bed of rice. Steak was cooked well. I chose the loaded baked potato as my side. It was huge! Hubby went with the RH Burger with fries. He said it was very good. Our server was attentive but far from overbearing. I also appreciated that he didn't push us the upsells. This is the kind of service that will bring me back to a place. I also want to mention my beverage. I don't usually drink when we go out to dinner and don't drink soda, so my options are usually fairly limited. I usually get iced tea, which can be hot or miss flavorwise. I went with the peach iced tea and it may be one of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. We like to frequent local restaurants, but for the occasional chain, we'll keep this Longhorn in mind. read more

Both of us ordered the salmon and you'd think it would be so-so since this is a restaurant known for steaks and not seafood, but that was not the case at all! We are seafood eaters and have frequented many of the local seafood restaurants around Phoenix and the salmon here at Longhorn was as good if not better than the seafood restaurants we've been to. As far as the sides go, the mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and corn on the cob were all very good as was the bread. We go to Longhorn about twice a month. They don't have a happy hour but the items we get aren't expensive. My margarita is only a little over $6.00 and it's delicious! I always get the salad with strawberries and pecans. It's absolutely perfect! The bread they bring immediately is beyond good! Last night I ordered the loaded potato soup, the salad, two drinks and my partner ordered the half pound burger and he also had two drinks. Total--$55.00!! First time experience was OK. The restaurant is comfortable and the service was good. The food, on the other hand, was so salty I had to send my fries back. This has never happened anywhere else because I usually add salt. The server told me the I could have ordered as light on the seasoning or even no seasoning. This would have been good to know at the start. If I had tried the burger before the fries I would have sent both back. I didn't want to send the burger back because my husband was already eating his strawberry salad. He enjoyed this salad very much. The waiter came over with boxes and we declined. The manager sent over a card with the waiter ..." one free appetizer". Any other restaurant would have deducted the steak... no, they did not. I dislike chains typically. LongHorn is an exception. Today I went and experienced superior customer service from the hostess to the server. Chris gave excellent recommendations for my challenged palate without batting an eyelash. I like my meat well done. The filet was well done but slightly dry. I've had moist, well done steak there before so I was not deterred. That's not my last experience with LH and I guess they can't all be winners. Anyway that filet is flavorful af.I had the 9 oz Flo filet and the asparagus and Mac and cheese sides. Everything was delicious. You don't have to pay a grip to get good food and great service. Steak/Ocean 44 are my favorite splurges but LH is my favorite "I'm craving a flavorful steak right now and don't wanna pay exorbitant prices today" kind of experience. I love the country music that plays far enough away in the background but enough to get you nodding your head and swaying side to side if you know the tune. Most patrons will likely not even notice the music. It's far from intrusive. Nice wine and beer selection. That seasonal cheesecake with caramel, pecans and whipped cream (October 2023) was out of this world. Summary: delicious food, fantastic service, awesome music.
