    Mac and cheese

Excellent barbecue food truck, elite ball knowledge spot here in Scottsdale. $10 beer and your choice of pulled pork or grilled chicken sandwich, the deal is mighty alluring. Highly enjoyed the sando and the Mac and cheese on the side, would definitely go back. The beer on draft at the Pinnacle Brewing this is based outside of definitely hit the spot as well. Slam dunk for a bomb lunch for my girlfriend and I.

North Scottsdale has LUCKED OUT! Holy cow this is the best damn BBQ around. Every single item on their menu is 5 stars. And the people and service? 500 stars. So much flavor in their food. Everything cooked to perfection. The smoked chicken is ridiculous. The chicken club Sammy is nuts! And so NOT skip the wings. Wow. Crispy. Mega flavor. Simply amazing. Brisket is perfection. Pickled onions? Can't be beat. Sauces? Flavor bombs! I'm so happy to have them nearby my house!!

Soooooo happy to see Beerded BBQ as the new food truck at Pinnacle. Their brisket is OUT OF THIS WORLD! The dry rubbed chicken wings were amazing and their french fries are so tasty. I wish I took photos of my son and nice meal, but we are too busy eating and enjoying the business of the establishment. Great energy, amazing food and it's where all the good people go.

While they don't have a…read moreparking, it's located in the heart of Old Town so parking is free on the street and in most surface lots. I found a spot in the surface lot right across the street from one of the most popular Mexican restaurants in town. Ambiance (4/5): The Mission is a nice restaurant. There's a small patio in front and a large patio out back. Sit at the outdoor patio if you can pull it off. Inside is great too, and there's nice artwork both inside and outside. The only issue? It's a popular restaurant and they try to pack in as many people as possible so space is at a premium. That also means that if you come at a peak hour, like we did, it's going to be pretty loud. Service (4/5): There was a wait when we arrived and the bar was full (first come, first served). Luckily, a group was leaving right when I lingered by the bar and we were able to snag the seats. The bartender did a pretty good job taking care of us. There was room for improvement as far as her efficiency and checking in, but overall, given how busy the restaurant was, pretty good. Drinks (4.5/5): The Mission has an interesting cocktail list. As you'd expect, it's tequila-focused but there's a good variety. You'll find creative cocktails which is always big in my book. Plus margaritas like prickly pear margaritas. I went with the correndo na chuva which has cachaca, passion fruit, lemongrass, sherry, and lime juice. Cachaca is a Brazilian liqueur which you don't see in many places so this was a treat. It was a refreshing cocktail. Lots of spicy cocktails are available, too. Food (4/5): While the brunch menu is pretty extensive, I think there's a clear winner: the all-you can eat whole roasted pig out. For $19, and only on Saturdays and Sundays during brunch, it's a steal of a deal. You get pineapple roasted shoulder and pork belly carnitas tacos served with your choice of one of five sauces. There's a little buffet stand where a member of their staff will make the tacos for you. I had about 10 of them and they hit the spot! Nice variety of sauces so I tried all of them except for one (two spicy for my blood) and you can request flour tortillas if you prefer that over the corn tortillas they have. Between the two proteins, I thought the pork shoulder was more flavorful and tender. It's no surprise that The Mission Old Town has some of the most Yelp reviews in town. It's a popular restaurant. Just make sure to make a reservation or stop by outside of peak hours or there's a good chance you'll have a wait.

For apps we got the lamb fondue which was super tender and unique. Dipping meet in cheese? Literally nothing better. Then we also got the green chili pork stew which is a MUST try! Not too spicy and full of flavor. Also, great for sharing as you fill it in the buttery tortillas. The filet was seriously one of the best I've ever had in Arizona. It has a nice shallot butter crust and it was cooked PERFECTLY medium rare. This was a highlight. The pork chop is huge and has a nice sweetness to it. The meat wasn't dry either...it pretty much tasted like the best bacon I've ever had LOL Everyone must get the green chili Mac n cheese. Not spicy at all just Smokey and tangy and full of cheese but shockingly not that heavy. The pecan pie was unreal. Gooey and sweet but the crust was still super flakey. The brownie skillet was soft in the middle which is how it always should be. Their known for their frozen huckleberry margarita which is a treat in its own but it's not too icey they definitely don't skip out on the tequila. Rachel was our server. She's been there for awhile so you know that they treat their staff well. She was super knowledgeable and honest about certain menu items. I also spoke with the manager, Matt, who was very welcoming and seemed very proud of his restaurant (as he should be). Overall highly reccomend it here. Everything exceeded my expectations. I will absolutely be returning!

We were running a little late so I had our friends check-in at the hostess stand and they gave my name for our reservation which was confirmed and they were sat at a table. We then arrive a short while later and I approached the hostess and stated that we had a reservation and our friends already arrived, checked-in for our reservation and were seated. The hostess asks what name the reservation was under and I tell her my complete name and she said she doesn't have it. I explained that I have a confirmation email and she waves her tablet at me about 4 feet away so I can't see the details and says "See! I don't have it." I replied, my friends are already here under the reservation so can I just go find them? She replied yes. I don't understand the interaction when my friends clearly checked in already using my name for the reservation. It was a discussion that wasn't necessary and did not give our first visit to the Roaring Fork a good impression. Once we found our friends after searching through the entire restaurant, we found them and sat down. We were immediately approached my our server who was very attentative and gave great service. We were told about a 3-course menu with multiple selections and I decided to get the New York Strip. I enjoyed my cesar salad and then the New York Strip was delivered. It was prepared according to my request, medium, and I checked by cutting right down the middle. I noticed it was a little tough to cut even with the steak knife I provided but the inside looked as expected so I continued on. What I was surprised to find was the amount of gristle on the New York Strip. There is nothing like having to pull food out of your mouth (several times) at a public place because you can't possible chew or consume it. For $80 (salad, New York Strip, sides and desert) I expected better. Unfortunately, my experience leads me to leave a 3 star review.

They came out filled to the brim, cold, frothy, and truly delicious. I loved that I could get mine decaf! Really appreciated that. Boy was it packed! There were only two of us and we were told it'd be an hour wait if we wanted a table, or we could try some seats at the bar. We chose the latter. It took us about 10-15 minutes to find two open spots next to each other; but we're glad we did. There were all kinds of people visiting, bachelorette parties, corporate employees in suits, casual patrons, and loud ones lol. Downside was that the waiter that served us was a little rude. I get that he was completely slammed but answering your kind and patient patron with "you already did" after I simply asked "can I ask you a question?" was just off putting. I genuinely wanted to learn more about why the name was what it was. He finally explained that they opened in 1988 which a few of us enjoyed to hear. Idk - just be kind. It's free. Would I come back? Probably not at 8pm on a Saturday night. But yes, definitely during a slower time.
