Went there for Father's Day and we had the Coconut Shrimp 3 Course Dinner. Very delicious with the marmalade on the side added to the taste. The shrimp were large and plump with a very good crunchy coconut topping on the shrimp. Salad and potato was as good. The best part was the Cheesecake with raspberry purée topping. So good. Used to order the coconut shrimp from Red Lobster but they cut back their number of shrimp and took away the salad. Haven't been back in over a year so now Outback is my go to place for Coconut Shrimp. More food and a lot less. read more

Went for lunch, had he chicken sandwich. It was tender and moist. It was very good and I enjoyed it.

Ordered a to go order from here and when I got home after picking it up I found an entire entree missing. I called the restaurant and told them of the error. The manager, Bree, immediately came on the phone and admitted to the error. She then gave me options on "making it right". I decided on having the entree replaced. When I went back to pick up the replacement order both Bree and the staff member came out to apologize in person. I was also given gift cards to use in the future. Can't say enough about how impressed I was by their customer service. Turned an unhappy customer into a very happy one. read more

My wife and I came to Outback (our favorite dinner spot) after receiving an envelope from the OBGYN clinic, stating what our babies gender would be. Our waitress Jessica K right from the start gave us such a great experience; she was friendly, helpful and kind. Food was delicious as always. When we finished eating, we wanted to see if Outback could do something special for us for the reveal. And they went above and beyond! Jessica was so excited to help us out, and went back to the rest of the staff to make the plans. They came out with the first plate; dessert from heaven and chocolate writing saying, "It's a" and then they brought out the other plate... all the staff that wasn't busy came out to share in the moment with us to the final reveal... Ordered steak and rib plate. Side of mashed potatoes and potato soup. The whole plate was Luke warm at best like it had been waiting for awhile. Mashed potatoes were borderline almost cold, ribs had a rubbery texture. Steak was perfectly cooked but again lukewarm. Water and lemonade weren't refilled and the place was almost empty. As far as ambiance music was loud and not recognizable it just felt like noise. I didn't eat over half of my plate. I noticed only a few cars when I pulled up a little before 8 but I passed Longhorn's on the way and parking lot was at least half full. I have been to the Norman Outback 3 times in the past 2 months after not patronizing for a number of years due to poor quality food and service. I' m really trying to "love" the dining experience. The first visit, I had to wait and "beg" for the things I needed to complete my meal. Food was good. (middle of the afternoon). The second visit was about 8 p.m. The food was excellent, however the music was SO loud I was ready to jump off the roof. I have read where restaurants play the music louder than comfortable to the patrons so they'll eat and leave promptly. I would have said something, for I was miserable but I was with a family member who does not condone speaking up. We could not even hear one another across one of the smaller tables. I guess the employees did not want to be late leaving as they kept asking if they could take the dishes right under our noses, even as we were still attempting to enjoy the meal and visit. One slice of bread had been taken when they whisked away the loaf and butter! Obviously, the Outback does not want you to enjoy either the food OR each other! And THEN, to cap off the experience, our server slapped the ticket down, almost in my plate as yes, I WAS still attempting to eat, standing an inch or two from my body with her portable charge card unit at the ready expecting me to put down my fork, open my handbag, and complete the "sale." And now we are up to my 3rd attempted visit last week about the 1:30 p.m. hour. I could see only two tables were seated, however I was seated on the north side, last table next to the "utility?" room. Again the music could be heard in Purcell. And the entire 10 minutes I was seated ice was being poured from bags to "something" just a few feet behind me. I said 10 minutes for at that point I had not been visited or acknowledged by a server and my surroundings were such I was not again going to pay $25 to be abused these ways, though I had arrived, with a nice steak dinner on my mind. I walked out, menus on the table and no one even looked my direction. I thought of course to call a manager especially the second two visits, however Management would know of their practices and I would be whistling in the wind. Such disappointment here, as your "fare" was some of the best I've had in Norman in these times. read more

Definitely a hit or miss. Outback has been my favorite restaurant the last few months in both Norman and Lawton. I've only had one bad meal in Lawton which was fixed. I've had a few in Norman at this point. I'm not picky so to complain usually takes something pretty bad or inappropriate. We've had a few really bad cuts of steak in Norman. One bad enough that my daughter took one bite and didn't eat a bite more and her fries were overcooked and the server just asked us if we wanted sauce to cover it up. They did correct this which I appreciate. However, I came back last week and still didn't have too great of an experience. Wasn't bad enough to talk about but at the same time made me realize we need to stick to the Lawton location from here on out. read more

I got my meal delivered tonite! I am so glad they started offering this service. The food was still hot and fresh and the delivery driver was very friendly. West side Norman should take advantage of good food delivered to your front door. We dine in usually and I love the service, the attention to detail of the cooks, and the friendly, artful bartenders. Great food, the two ribeyes were tinder and cooked perfectly. The cheese fries were awesome as well. The waiter did his job well and was very friendly. The only sticking point to the night was the cheese fries, salad and the steak were brought out almost together. We had no chance to relax and eat the appetizer and the salad. Outback has quickly become one of our go-to date night spots. The food and service are always great & we never have a bad experience. Sadly, our first bad experience was Friday night. Our server greeted us once we were sat, and it seemed like we were in great hands. However, that wasn't the case. Our server hardly stopped by to check on us, despite the amount of times she passed our table. She never asked if we wanted more bread/butter, never asked if we needed anything. At one point, she walked right past us without a word, but checked on the table next to us. When she finally came by, my boyfriend and I were mid bite. She asked how the food was, but quickly kept walking as we both tried to respond. Not only was she not concerned with helping us, I had a clear shot of her standing around talking to her coworkers the majority of the time we were there. The most attention we got from her was when she was eyeing us from the host stand as she waited for us to pay. Best part of all, she was sure to glare at us as we walked out because she watched us have a conversation with another employee. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because of Shawn/Sean (not sure how he spells his name). He was the person who ran out our food, made sure I got the correct side when the original was wrong, checked on us several times, and made sure had what we needed. He was working his butt off all night and this isn't the first time I have seen him in the restaurant working hard. He told us he has different roles there, including serving. The brown bread was AMAZING! Probably what would bring me back here. They have great, cheap drinks with a decent selection. Pretty much what you would expect from an Outback Steakhouse. The wait wasn't too long, the food came out in a decent amount of time, and the service was decent. My one complaint was that my medium rare steak came out as nearly medium well. However, I decided not to send it back because I was way too hungry and didn't want to be the only one at the table not eating. I am a slow enough eater as it is haha.
