I went to lunch at the Catch with a good friend and we both loved the food. I had the shrimp boil and sausage with Cajun spice, it was great. My friend had the crab boil and was loving the Cajun spice. I was able to take some home and enjoy an additional two meals, which means there is plenty of food for the price. We were really pleased with our visit to The Catch last night! The bright blue walls were a warm welcome sight once it was so chilly last night. My husband and I both got the shrimp and fish combo. It was so hot when they brought it to us we had to let it cool. The fish was light, crispy, and very clean. The shrimp was so so big! Probably around extra large size. It was fried basically perfect. The tartar sauce was not my favorite but satisfactory. I had the red beans and rice. It was seasoned perfectly for my taste with a small amount of heat. The sausage was a very pleasant addition in the beans. My husband thought they could have used more salt. My hard to please children also really like their fish! I had a late lunch at The Catch on a Thursday. Since it was past 2 there was only 1 other person seated in the place. They cooked my meal fresh, so it took a bit, but it wasn't too long. This was during the COVID pandemic, and they were doing a good job of keeping the place clean. Some seats were closed to allow for distancing, all employees had masks, and I saw several people come wipe down surfaces, even if they hadn't been touched since the last time they were wiped down. I went with the catfish po boy, fries, and a cup of red beans and rice. The food was not out immediately, which is a good thing as they prepared it fresh. But, it also didn't take too long. It was definitely fresh, so hot I had to give it a minute. The catfish was fried well and had that classic cornmeal crust. It needed a bit of salt, but other than that it was a solid piece of fish. The bread, on the other hand, wasn't great. It was a cheaper loaf and flimsy. I wish they had a more substantial (and flavorful) bun, as the sandwich basically fell apart. I would get the catfish again, but maybe not in po boy form. The fries were beer battered and good, but nothing to write home about. You've had similar fries at other joints. The red beans and rice was slightly soupier than I prefer but the flavor was strong. I added some hot sauce but that was it. Probably the best dish of the meal. The Catch did not blow me away on my first visit but they did enough right for me to come back and try something else. I look forward to trying them again. read more

I was accused of using a fake $100 bill. The problem is it came straight from the bank and I went back to the bank to find out it is, in fact, real and the bill was just old. Be careful paying with cash here. I was told they did not have the marker to verify the bill. Also told they have received a lot of counterfeit money during the holidays. I have enjoyed the food for several years. However, after my last visit, never again. I usually get carryout. Which means I have ordered and paid for my food. I entered, waited to be acknowledged by the cashier, who looked at me then ignored me. I told him I had carryout, he said you'll have to go to the back of the line, which had 8-10 people. I said for carryout? He said yes, I said I can see the order right there. He said you still have to get in line. Seeing no one else to appeal to I did so. When I got to the front, another person, who said he was a manager was there. As I was repeated my concerns, the cashier interrupted me, and I said I'm not speaking to you. This place was not good. I order the lemon butter crab boil and received a plate full of lemon butter with my potatoes and corn and crab just thrown on top. Usually with a boil it would be taken from a bag and it be steamed and melted butter with seasonings. The butter in my plate was so thick I thought it was scrambled eggs! Everything was ice cold as well. The lemon butter seasoning was so over powering it burned with every bite it literally hurt my jaw. I didn't take a photo of the meal but after the fact to show all the butter!! I learned that if I want a good boil I'll go to Pier 88 next time. read more

We found out about The Catch maybe 3 months ago in Oklahoma City near the Penn Square Mall. When we found out they were opening one in Moore we were so excited. First off... seafood is great for those trying to eat healthy. Of course if you do not get it fried and such. They were set to open May 27, but opened a few days early. The location is easy to get to and perfect for dinner before or after movie at the Warren which is right behind it. The food was great! The staff was helpful and kind, especially for just opening. The food was piping hot! Just how I like it. The salad looked so fresh! I highly recommend trying this place out. Try sitting outside on a less windy day... ha, yep less windy in Oklahoma... does that happen. Haha!! But, I love that there is outdoor seating. read more

We came for an appointment. Thought this place looks pretty good near by. We came and got the clam chowder which was actually pretty darn good. So, as we waiting for the rest of the food. We expected it all to be just as good. NOPE. The boil literally had NO seasoning in it. I mean, NOTHING. It tasted like it was made with dirty water. And the crab was definitely over cooked. When you expect it all to just come out fine, nope. It all just stuck in the crab leg. And we couldn't get past the one bite in the corn. SOGGY. Like it had been sitting in the water since days before. Overall, I don't know, maybe we just ordered something that this place isn't famous for. We have dined at this location several times with very good food. On 11/28 we ordered two 2 piece fish baskets. The fish this time was really hot but considerably thinner and not very crisp. Tater sauce is nothing but an oil based dressing. I can't say anything I purchased, almost $30 was worth eating. It will be interesting if this restaurant makes it in Moore OK. Daughter and I went for lunch. We both had a po boy sandwich that came with their fries. I had oyster and my daughter had crawfish. The sandwiches are loaded with meat. I had a side salad which is $5 but I'll mention it was large. Should be for $5. My daughter had okra and we are okra snobs. Okra was terrible. Fried to long like eating marbles. The Catch is a walk in, order then have a seat restaurant. Not my personal favorite but certainly the trend in the industry. A lot of the menu was market price. Even the shrimp cocktail. Shrimp market price? I want a seafood restaurant to make it in Moore so I hope they stick around. Lunch for two was a little under $50. First and foremost, the staff is friendly and efficient, the food after ordering took less than 10 minutes from starting the order to the table! They ended up forgetting my fried pickles but quickly remedied it! Now onto the good stuff! Shrimp tacos were gotten by my wife, she found the flavor bland and lacking texture or flavor! My son got the fried Gator which IMO was the highlight of the meal! The fries are great, but you can find the same in the grocery store that has those small little fried bits attached to the fries itself! I got the Gumbo! While the roux was lacking body or even the full Cajun effect, felt more like it came fresh from a freezer, and while roux isn't supposed to be overly complicated it's the foundation of any good gumbo or red beans and rice! If it is homemade, it was undoubtedly frozen and thawed! The sausage had obviously been stewing in it and had no snap to it at all! Along with the rice being in there the entire time rather than placed on top of the gumbo! BTW, where was the shrimp? they felt like little shrimpettes than actual shrimp! I picked up the crawfish as it was out of season and it was fried, while the flavor was there, it hinted more towards being fried than any semblance of crawfish! I found myself dousing the meal in malt vinegar! The fried pickles were what you'd expect and a safe bet for any appetizer! Overall I would go back! Enjoy eating at the restaurant near Classen Curve more than the Moore location. Both are good but the one in OKC seems to have better food for whatever reason. Don't kid yourself we live in OKC and we won't get Cajun food like you will get in Louisiana so quit writing reviews about how the roux doesn't have the right body and how you measured the viscosity of the roux and it didn't match what you get from mama down in de swamps or some high end place in LaFayette. You want food that good drive your ass to Louisiana if you want the best Cajun food around these parts drive on over to The Catch and enjoy. read more
