    Large Shrimp & Catchfish Combo
    Monica R.

We were really pleased with our visit to The Catch last night! The bright blue walls were a warm welcome sight once it was so chilly last night. My husband and I both got the shrimp and fish combo. It was so hot when they brought it to us we had to let it cool. The fish was light, crispy, and very clean. The shrimp was so so big! Probably around extra large size. It was fried basically perfect. The tartar sauce was not my favorite but satisfactory. I had the red beans and rice. It was seasoned perfectly for my taste with a small amount of heat. The sausage was a very pleasant addition in the beans. My husband thought they could have used more salt. My hard to please children also really like their fish! We will definitely be back to eat here in the future.

The food was decent, the crab/shrimp boil was mediocre. The service wasn't really that good and I think the cashier lied about their crab cakes being made in house, unprovoked. Te ambiance is okay spacious but super cold inside. Also got a cup of red beans and gumbo both was alright. Nothing to write home about

Great Food. Came out hot!! Order the Boudin Balls and med catfish basket with 2 fillers. Friendly staff.

I had a late lunch at The Catch on a Thursday. Since it was past 2 there was only 1 other person seated in the place. They cooked my meal fresh, so it took a bit, but it wasn't too long. This was during the COVID pandemic, and they were doing a good job of keeping the place clean. Some seats were closed to allow for distancing, all employees had masks, and I saw several people come wipe down surfaces, even if they hadn't been touched since the last time they were wiped down. I went with the catfish po boy, fries, and a cup of red beans and rice. The food was not out immediately, which is a good thing as they prepared it fresh. But, it also didn't take too long. It was definitely fresh, so hot I had to give it a minute. The catfish was fried well and had that classic cornmeal crust. It needed a bit of salt, but other than that it was a solid piece of fish. The bread, on the other hand, wasn't great. It was a cheaper loaf and flimsy. I wish they had a more substantial (and flavorful) bun, as the sandwich basically fell apart. I would get the catfish again, but maybe not in po boy form. The fries were beer battered and good, but nothing to write home about. You've had similar fries at other joints. The red beans and rice was slightly soupier than I prefer but the flavor was strong. I added some hot sauce but that was it. Probably the best dish of the meal. The Catch did not blow me away on my first visit but they did enough right for me to come back and try something else. I look forward to trying them again.

Cup of Gumbo (a few bites already taken before photo. Sorry. Not sorry, I couldn't wait! Lol)

Being from Houston & visiting Louisiana often, I'd say this place is definitely on par if you enjoy really great Cajun food!!! Since it was in season I had the crawfish boil (extra spicy) along with a cup of gumbo & both absolutely hit the spot & were delicious!!!

This place was not good. I order the lemon butter crab boil and received a plate full of lemon butter with my potatoes and corn and crab just thrown on top. Usually with a boil it would be taken from a bag and it be steamed and melted butter with seasonings. The butter in my plate was so thick I thought it was scrambled eggs! Everything was ice cold as well. The lemon butter seasoning was so over powering it burned with every bite it literally hurt my jaw. I didn't take a photo of the meal but after the fact to show all the butter!! I learned that if I want a good boil I'll go to Pier 88 next time.

We get in and the place is packed (which is what we're used to), whatever. They get us seated and grab our drinks but then they take 20 mins to come back to take our order. We decided to give them some grace for that but then When the employee was taking our order she rushed us and barley even let us finish ordering; didn't even get the order completely right she didn't input a few items I had asked for. It takes them another 30+ minutes for our plates to be brought to us; half that time the plates were just sitting on the counter getting cold while the waitress is literally running out every other plate and helping every other table. Then, when the waitress saw us visibly upset after sitting there for an hour (we still had yet to receive only 2 plates of sushi rolls) she decides to stand there (not busy at all, all of the sudden) and stare at us, giggling and talking low/in another language to another employee. I had seen multiple people and tables who showed up at the same time as us or after us be served and set on their merry way and the whole time we were just waiting to have our orders taken and food served. My husband and I just wanted to celebrate our anniversary but instead our time and money was just completely wasted. And then to be disrespected when we showed nothing but respect? Pathetic. These employees need to show some accountability/general respect because why are they getting snarky and passive aggressive with me when the employee is the one that can't even do their job right? Do better. I decided not to say anything, just ate my cold food and left. Why? Because it would've been no use having to spell it all out to her dumbass. Plus I knew it would've been excuse after excuse as to why the service was trash. "Oh its busy, blah blah blah" you've been working here for the whole 2 years that Ive been eating at this place and this is how you do your job? Get your shit together.

You'll find a high-quality, varied menu paired with a drink selection that holds its own against higher-end neighborhood establishments. Whether you're rolling in with a group, enjoying a couples' night, or grabbing a seat at the bar solo, this place delivers a reliably good experience. The crowd here reflects the restaurant's broad appeal. I've seen everything from work clothes to three-piece suits, and nobody looks out of place. Red Rock caters to all types, which keeps the atmosphere lively without feeling exclusive or pretentious. A few practical notes: The place can get crowded, particularly during peak hours or when there's a game or special event drawing people out. If your evening is time-sensitive, say, a date before a show or an event with a hard start time, make a reservation or plan to arrive early. You'll thank yourself later. And as with any establishment in this upper-neighborhood price range, I recommend checking out the menu beforehand and doing the math. Think about Red Rock within the full scope of your evening: dinner, drinks, maybe a movie or concert afterward. An unexpectedly high bar tab can turn a great night into a frustrating one, so budget accordingly and you'll leave happy. Bottom line: A dependable spot for good food, good drinks, and good company. Just go in with a plan.
