My wife and I visited the Mobile location on Montlimar Drive many years ago and ordered filets medium rare that were brought to the table well done. We haven't been back even though the location had changed to Airport Blvd. until tonight. I got the 16oz prime rib medium rare to rare that was brought to the table grey /white or well done. The steak was just as bad as before at the other location. I guess that its been 15 years since we have been to an outback and based on my current age of 61, I will be deceased before I get enough nerve to patronize this establishment again. Emily was the bar tender when we arrived and was absolutely excellent. She was attentive and very good. She asked how the dinner was and like always I simply said ok. My thought here is if the cooks and staff believe the food product is acceptable as ordered, then I will agree to disagree. I have had prime rib in many places especially in Mobile establishments and will attest, this is the worst I have ever had. If this is acceptable quality, then shame on the company and the management responsible. Ordered the 12 oz prime rib medium - got it cold and medium well. Ordered a lobster tail as accessory to the steak - got it very rubbery. Had two other couples with us. Server got proper orders with proper people but got the checks royally messed up amount the three couples. Mashed potatoes with the steak were very good as was the salad preceding the meal. Server personality was very nice. Probably will not return in the near future but if I do I will not be ordering a steak. read more

This is the worst Out Back Steak House I've ever been. The garlic mashed potatoes were tasteless, the asperagas was not even eatable so very old and woody, it was like knawing on sticks. The salad sucked. The only thing halfway decent was the pork chops. Not good just halfway good. Bottom line...no quality control, no compassion about how the food turns out. Everytime I come here my food is over cooked or not all of my food is in my order we stopped eating ther due to covid so we do take out EVERY SINGLE TIME. Wife and I both had the bone-in ribeye which was cooked a perfect medium as we had requested. Steak was very tender and seasoned well. Came in this evening and got the Seared Ahi Tuna as an appetizer and it was really good. I'd just eat that as a meal if it wasn't so expensive. My wife got the sirloin and it was a little tough. The prime rib that I got was perfect. Good seasoning and the correct level of done ness. Our server Cory was great too. Took really good care of us. Drinks never got past half full. Outback is remarkably consistent across their chain. They pride themselves on training and making sure their staff is top rate. This was a training night on a Monday in Mobile. the servers were fine and the food some of the best I have had. The bartender, however, was abominable. Okay, rating a chain restaurant is really unusual. And I generally avoid chains when I can. But we had a gift card so we decided to go while on a trip to Mobile. And it was wonderful! Short wait (15 mins?). Only bummer was a table in middle of the room and not a booth. We had the coconut shrimp, wedge salad, steaks, mac n cheese, broccoli, and potatoes. We attended a Yelp event there tonight and I have to say my feeling about Outback has changed. Yes , you think Outback steak only ?? Wrong! They served us three types of ribs with original, rub and sera chi sauces. They were so tender and so good ! The mashed potatoes accompanied the ribs and they were perfect. They did serve as an appetizer a steak quesadilla and of course the Blooming Onion along with loaded fries and ribs on top ! Ohhh sooo good ! Ok so its been on my mind heavy and I'm still bothered by it. Me a a couple friends visited this location on Saturday 10/14. The server that was assigned to us was "Hope". She started off being rude. After being seated we waited for over 15 mins before anyone asked had our server been to the table which she hadn't. She tried to our drink order 1st with attitude. So i asked since we had waited so long can we just order our food. She stated very rude "I'm taking drink orders right now I have other customers that I gotta serve that was here b4 you". So we just wait. What else can we do it took forever for her 2 come back with the drinks and we still have nothing on our table after being there for over 30 mins. We finally get our food. We ordered the steak and shrimp. We had to wait 10 mins between each time to get a shrimp refill. So I ask can she give us double servings since it was taking so long she said no but took 20 mins to bring out another serving. (I never saw her walk 2 another table I only saw her playing and laughing on side of the bar with other workers. ) so when she brought it out afyer 20th mins she proceeds to tell us "I'm finna brang y'all check" we never asked for a check but by then I was ready to go. That was the worst experience that I have ever had there and I only recommended there because my husband and I had just had our anniversary dinner there the Thursday before. This is the second time now having terrible service at outback. The first time was dinning in and this recent one is through Togo. But this most recent one... I placed my order for the text my order was almost ready right when I pulled in. So at the time my order was supposed to be ready I called the Togo person to inform them I was there but not in a Togo spot because they were filled. Well 50 minutes later I finally get my food (after calling 3 more times) and it's cold. I ask the person if they can do a recook because it's cold and I had been waiting for almost an hour. They take it back inside, and the manager comes out to inform me they cannot recook it because I was just then picking my order up and said I was not in the correct spot. Then asked if I called to inform them I wasn't in a Togo spot and I said I did and she had the rudest attitude through our the entire conversation. I normally enjoy Outback and I'm still a fan, but I ate there tonight with my family and it was lacking a bit. I had the filet which was cooked perfectly, but my baked potato was as dry as a bone even though it was supposed to be loaded. The service was extremely slow even though our server was really nice. I don't think that the value was there. Our bill was $74 . I expect a little more than that if I'm going to spend the money. It was mediocre. read more

Brand new location and I went in for Sunday lunch. I ordered prime rib but was told that it wouldn't be available until later in the day. If they are going to be open, they should be prepared to serve their menu. I ordered the ribeye instead and it was good, just not what I wanted. I normally wouldn't write a review for a "chain" restaurant like Outback, however this location is special. I just had a great experience: my steak was perfect and full of flavor, the lobster tail was expertly grilled, and the salad (although basic) was very fresh. I learned the meaning of sin when I dipped my last morsel of filet in the zesty lobster butter sauce. Would recommend highly, as long as the price can be tolerated. read more

Typical Outback Steakhouse right up until we got seated. Server took our orders and delivered bread. We then waited for 40 minutes for our salad and soup for my son and me. I queried the server about the wait and she said she was the problem ... No real apology. The entrees took another 20 minutes, although after 10 minutes my wife cancelled her dinner order. This brought the manager over who offered a lame apology, although he did offer my wife a dessert which at this point she declined because we had already been there approaching 2 hours. We will note be visiting this Outback again, and it will be a long time before we go to any Outback Steakhouses anywhere. Love the new location! We have been enjoying Outback Steak house for years...always a special treat for our family. We were so excited to have our Valentines dinner there, only to be disappointed. Service was great! BUT! We should have known something was wrong as soon as we cut into out bread....heard as a rock...over cooked! Then came the main course, we were served extremely small baked potatoes...which were still heard and cold...butter would not melt..my husbands Steak was cold as well. We sent potatoes and steak back...manager came to talk to us and apologized for this...the waitress returned with Slightly bigger baked potatoes, my husbands steak had been returned to the fire...over cooked but raw inside. FIRE THE COOK OR MAYBE THE MANAGER....I did read the negative review here before going, but figured it was a fluke..Don't think we will be returning.. read more

We have dined here several times since the move from the previous location next to I65, usually for special occasions and to get one of those Bloomin' Onions . Last night which was Oct. 30,2019, we decided to dine here just for the heck of it. The evening was very wet and so was I which may have contributed to the chill I felt in the restaurant (had to wear my jacket). There were not many customers so there was no waiting.Our waiter was nice and helpful . Everything was brought out in the correct order and time, (drinks, appetizer,bread, soup ,entree). The problem was with the Prime Rib (which we always order). I usually have the 12 oz. med. rare and my mom has the 8 oz. med. with creamy horseradish and au jus sauce and a baked potato. Unfortunately the steak I received was mostly fat and sinew and was well done on the outside and rare in the middle. My mom's steak was well done gray and tough. I know we were a bit early (about 5 pm) but no matter what time it is I would never serve anyone the butt end of a prime rib or a cut which did not have any of the center . I would let this go but this seems to be the norm now (third time) since the restaurant has moved to the new location. Sorry, but paying over 25 dollars for a prime rib dinner and having to throw a large portion away because the Chef sends out poor cuts of an expensive roast for whatever reason is unacceptable. P.S.The Longhorn has a much better prime rib but no Bloomin' Onion. read more

We eat here every now and then. The food is pretty good and the service is acceptable, though not great. Last week though made me vow to never go back. We are seniors on fixed incomes so we don't have an unlimited budget for eating out. We always use coupons when we have them. They usually only cover the tax but every little bit helps. We went in about a week before the end of March and had coupons that were good till April 1. When I showed them to the server she said "Oh we arn't doing those anymore". Even after she acknowledged they were valid she insisted that that restaurant had made the decision not to take them after a few people had used them. I should have asked for the manager but I didn't. We just left, went down the street to Texas Roadhouse and had a great meal. GOODBYE OUTBACK. Joke about it all you like, but Outback is always reliable for perfectly cooked, high-quality steak and delicious sides. The wedge salad is a true masterpiece: the perfect blend of salty, savory and sweet with bleu cheese, raspberry vinaigrette (I think), nut and delicious fresh cherry tomatoes and top-notch iceberg. I went to the Outback specifically for the rack of lamb. Got there and found out they no longer carry it. So thought I would try their surf and turf. I was very disappointed. Steak was over seasoned super peppery and very thin for a filet mignon. I will not go back, server was very good but obviously this restaurant chain has changed drastically for worse. I've been to this Outback many times. Some visits have been worse than others but it's generally a good place to go have a meal. My wife is a celiac and Outback has always been great about accommodating her dietary needs. On our most recent visit, date night with the wife, we had an outstanding visit. Our server was pleasant and professional. It wasn't very busy and we had our drink orders in no time. We placed our orders and didn't wait long for our food either. We were never given any bread, which is normally standard at Outback, but we attributed it to my wife being allergic to gluten and them not wanting to make her sick. I had the grass fed beef burger with a sweet potato. Both were very good. My wife ordered a sirloin steak with veggies. She ordered it medium well and it came out a little too on the medium side. She asked to have it cooked a little longer and our server took it back, no questions asked. The front of the house manager on duty, Toby, brought her steak back out, had her check the steak was to her liking and even brought out more veggies. He then noticed I was drinking a Sam Adams Boston Lager and asked if I had tried their Octoberfest and even brought me a sample to try. We were very impressed with Toby's professionalism and dedication to customer service. For dessert, I ordered the strawberry shortcake parfait. I've had it before and it was as delicious and decedent as I remember. Definitely recommend it for anyone with a sweet tooth. Looking forward to our next trip back! read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE.I visited outback steakhouse a few months ago and service and food was not even ok.Me and my best friend decided one day to try outback steakhouse so we did.We arrived at about 9pm it was very slow and nearing closing time so we expected exceptional service. I ordered an appetizer of mild wings it took about 20 mins to even get that.The wings had no sauce and tasted very burnt but we dealt with them.I ordered a 6oz.sirloin with 2 sides which was a baked potato and a ceasar salad and my friend got chicken tenders and fries.When I received my food it looked very nice but when I bit into my sirloin it was burnt/crispy as hell. I said well done but no charcoal flavored I called the waitress back and told her that I would like for then to remake it for me ,so she did.So ultimately I ate the baked potato and ceasar salad that was really good actually .But once my sirloin(which tasted like a hamburger) came back out I was discussed and so over eating at this place I just took it home .On the other hand my friends chicken tenders and fries was too too crispy she (she picked with it and took it home and chicken tenders and fries is one of her favorites.The place is very clean and had a nice calm atmosphere .The bill came up to 40 sonething dollars they was very lucky that day because i had a gift card,because if i was paying with cash they wouldnt receive a penny from me .But the food amounts to shit and so does the service.DO NOT EAT AT THIS PLACE !!!! read more

We had 4 in our party and even though we called in to be listed on the wait list we waited almost 30 minutes to be called. I ordered the Victoria's filet and my husband ordered the prime rib. We also ordered the small blooming onion plate as well. My steak was just ok. But the salad and baked potato was good. Our family ordered the baked potatoes with their meal and they said they were delicious. Here goes: My husband's prime rib was very tough! He could hardly cut it with his knife. Our server agreed it needed to be replaced and she called in her manager Toby. He came and was in complete agreement it was tough and did he possibly want to exchange it for maybe a rib eye, 13 oz? My husband had the 12 oz. Prime rib. Everyone in our group was almost through with dinner but Toby said he would get the rib eye right out. It was ordered medium rare. We waited another 25 minutes and finally Toby brought it out and asked my husband to try it. It was good and a good steak. We all sat patiently waiting for him to eat his meal. When the bill came they charged him for the rib eye, full price. First of all, Toby up sold him on the rib eye and gave him nothing for the bad prime rib which he ordered in the first place and charges him for a more expensive steak. Husband was furious and called the server over and was obviously embarressed. She apologized profusely and gave us an indication this happens far too often. My husband should have been comped or at the very least offered some concession for the inconvenience and the poor quality steak he wanted in the first place. He tried to talk with the manager and he avoided him . He actually ran to the kitchen to get away. We have had bad steaks in the past at this location and had not been there in over 2 years. The quality of Out back's steaks has gone downhill. One manager told us my filet had so much gristle because it was cut wrong!! We won't be back and because of the manager's cowardice and unwillingness to do the right thing we will go to Longhorn or Briquettes for a better steak and a restaurant that cares about their customers.
