I have been to Outback many times but it's been a while. I decided to go back because i forgot what the Bloomin' Onion tastes like. It's the staple of the restaurant and I needed a reminder. I couldn't have just a Bloomin' Onion so I decided to get the Bloomin' Fried Shrimp. I know doubling up on fried food is a risk but I needed to do this. I made my order and headed to the restaurant. When I got to Outback I checked in from the text they sent me. My food was out in a few minutes. I got home and was eager to get a taste of the Bloomin' Onion. It didn't disappoint. It was delicious. The batter on the onions held up well. The crunch was solid. The dipping sauce was tangy. On to the shrimp. The shrimp was amazing. The batter for the shrimp was fried well. Well you all was warned we had 17 people comeing in to you restaurant. We waited over an hour to get a table. Got my food and it was a wedge salad told them ranch not blue cheese. I got it wrong. Sent it back. They sent me another wedge salad with chocolate on it. They were supposed to come back and refill. My drinks never did. The service was horrible. The waiters act like they didn't care they couldn't remember who ordered what . The service they gave us was terrible one of the young girls it was with us. I don't go to outback steakhouse a lot or as much as I used to, but when I do, I tend to be extremely lucky. Tonight I was alone and went to the bar and sat looking for a good meal and a cold beer. The bartender reminded me of the glory years of the 70s and 80s when service was impeccable and manners and professionalism was paramount. Toby was my server, and really showed his care for his customers and dedication to his craft. He was quick to get me a cold beer and menu that I could look at it and decide how hungry I was. I settled for a side salad with blue cheese, and a salmon special with a shrimp sauce and steamed vegetables, which was absolutely delicious! The salmon was tender, and juicy, the shrimp are not overcooked, the sauce was tasty and hot and served with rice and my favorite steamed vegetables hit the spot. I never ran low on a beverage, food came out of the bag quite quickly, and I don't think I was left alone at all or unattended, even though I was not very demanding. I was in awe of the service and very pleased they stopped here for dinner. I didn't go for a large heavy steak, but the salmon dish fit perfect with a salad after a long day of driving and working. I wish I had taken a picture of my dinner after being in the establishment for 3 hours. The service was beyond horrible. We asked for a manager after waiting over an hour to place our orders. He had someone to come take our orders (no offer of compensation) bad management. At least offer an appetizer for the horrible service. I love outback but this to go was unpleasant. I ordered a half rack of ribs and a full rack. The order of full rack had the same amount of ribs as the half rack. Also, the full rack had a few ribs that a assume fell off the bone upon transport to plate and they were just throw in the box. It was so badly presented. I have pics. I will never do a to-go order again. I visited this Outback location for an Official Yelp event and it was fantastic! The service was impeccable. The staff brought out each course and gave us a description of every dish we tasted. Outback will be rolling out new menu items and we had a chance to sample those new items. I enjoyed everything especially the honey siracha ribs. There was also a sangria that was really delicious that we got to try. To end the night perfectly we had a Oreo cookie parfait that was delicious and airy. I will definitely be returning to Outback with my friends to try the new out dishes on the menu. I'm only giving this place two stars because of the server. She kept our drinks full the whole meal. The food was no where near good. I ordered a mid rare sirloin and it got back to me still able to walk. If you would put your ear up to the sirloin you would probably hear a heart beat. Surprisingly, I've been here almost 3 years and only just recently went to our local Outback. It was an ok experience. Waited quite a while for our food to come out which was fine. The food tasted ok and the service was ok. I wasn't impressed by any part of our visit but I wasn't mad about it either. The server wasn't wearing her mask properly so take what you will from that. I am not opposed to going back but for $73 before tip (1 bloomin' onion, 1 steak meal, 1 chicken meal, 1 adult beverage, 1 tea) I would much prefer to go to a few other steakhouses in town, with just as comparable prices, where the service is better as well as the food. Bottom line: if I'm with someone who is set on Outback, we will go but if I am choosing, it will likely not be a contender for dinner options. read more

We did call ahead seating. When we arrived, they told us we would still have a pretty lengthy wait. They AC was not working and it's 99 degrees outside. While waiting, I went to the bathroom (walking through the dining room).....I counted 19 empty tables. Once we were seated, no waiter came for a LONG period of time. People that were sat after us already received a waiter and their drinks. I had hoped once we got our waiter, it would be a different story. He was nice, but the service was soooo terribly awful. Stopped by a couple of nights ago for an early supper. Peyton was our server. She was really awesome! Very nice and very attentive! I started with a Top Shelf Margarita... really, really good! I had the Shrimp and Lobster Pasta. Very good! Not at all spicy, but it was still delicious. My friend got the Prime Rib and Shrimp. He said that it was really good...cooked just right. My salad at Kravers was excellent and had to take half home for $14. Nice server but messed up our bill, forgot to add 2 beers which was a 10.minute hassle as we use Moocho. Made a reservation that was approved by a manager (or so I was told). Arrived and they sat a table where we were supposed to be seated. Manager came out and apologized and said he would seat us as soon as they could. An hour and a half later, the tables were clean and empty but we were told that the waitress didn't want anymore big tables because she had enough big tables for the night. (We arrived at 5:30) Then all of a sudden they claimed they don't take reservations and only do call ahead seating after we had sat there for an hour and a half past our 5:30 reservation. One of the hostesses told us we could leave and go somewhere else and then threatened to call the cops on us because we were complaining about all the crap we had to put up with. The first manager I spoke with ended up lying to my face saying we never had a reservation yet he apologized for the inconvenience and said he would make sure we had appetizers as soon as we sat down when i spoke to him at 5:30. If they couldn't accommodate a large party they could have said it in the beginning instead of letting small children sit there getting irritable because they were hungry. So we left and Olive Garden was absolutely great about getting us seated and taken care of as fast as they could. We were told the wait would be about 40 minutes but were sat within 30 minutes. I will make sure I nor anybody else I know will ever support Outback Steakhouse again. Especially the one in Mobile , Alabama. In my personal opinion, I believe most of the 4 & 5 star reviews they have are fake because there is no way this restaurant could have anything over 2 stars. read more

Very interesting visit. First off, the restaurant was uncomfortably cold. When we sat down, our server came over to announce "I have to use the restroom I'll be right back". I'm not sure why she felt the need to announce that. Once she returned and we inquired if she washed her hands, we ordered. I ordered a Cobb salad which comes with chopped eggs and croutons. When my salad arrived, it was sans eggs and croutons. I told the server and she left. She comes back with eggs and said the kitchen was packing up and they just forgot them. Again, oversharing. I reminded her about the croutons. The "manager" brings them over and says "this is all we have left"! (Oversharing again). The food was ok once I got all the components of my salad. But the service was terrible. Both the server and manager need to revisit customer service class. Outback needs to get it together. read more

We ordered the Victorias filet and the Porterhouse. The filet was perfectly cooked and delicious but the Porterhouse was raw and inedible until my husband cooked it further in the microwave. Glad it wasn't refills it was tasteless and watered down, order the toowomba salmon aka salmon with shrimp sauce, creamed spinach, and side salad . Blooming onion was good sauce was greasy. Couple people ordered the same meal 3 blooming chicken and the 2 Queensland chicken and shrimp pasta, 1 Queensland steak and shrimp and to medium steaks. Nothing to complain about but nothing to brag about either. I was not impressed. The restaurant is dated and need a bit of an update and the damp carpet smell was really strong. Saturday evening, Hubby and I decided to head over to Outback. We called ahead for reservations and literally walked in and were seated at a booth in the bar area. We love not waiting! (Use the call ahead feature)! Tyson, one of the managers greeted us and made sure we had a great waitress! For starters, I ordered the Bleu Cheese Pecan Chopped Salad and Hubby opted for a bowl of the Potato Soup. Let me tell you, this is by far one of my favorite salads in Mobile! The tartness of the Bleu Cheese is complimented by the sweetness of the pecans - so yummy. Hubby said the soup was incredible and he ate every drop without offering me a taste! It must have been great! Now for the main event: Hubby ordered the Toowoomba Shrimp topped Salmon with fries. I selected a medium rare sirloin paired with a loaded sweet potato. The Salmon did not disappoint-he loved it. It is on the new menu rolled out last week. It has a little "cajun" flare to it without being overly spicy. My steak was cooked perfectly and the potato was fantastic! There is a Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar Beer from the bar, that pairs up nicely with this steak. We finished off the lovely experience with the Double Chocolate Dessert Parfait! It was delicious and fairly light! Alton, the new proprietor, stopped by our table to make sure everything was just right. He has really made a difference in the attitude and atmosphere of this location! Consistently good food and great service. For a chain restaurant I gotta give props to Outback. I've eaten here for years and 9 times out of 10 it's "No worries mate"! I had lunch here yesterday with my kids; treated them to the kids' sirloin meal and a blommin' onion (See pics). I had a house salad with my favorite dressing on Earth: Outback's signature Tangy Tomato. Everything was perfectly cooked, lrep'd and served. I wish I would've made note of our server's name because she was amazing. My 12 y/o son was like ."She must really love her job!" LOL Props to the management and the servers and the cooks!
