Staff were very nice and accommodating very patient with my brood. I am so sorry I forgot the server's name. We came in on a Friday evening and he has the section by the bathroom. Had a blooming onion, well half so it's called petals. Pasta, burger everything was great. They were running a $10 special and it's a great deal one of the best ones out here. Will def go back if I'm around.

I experienced the most upsetting interaction of my life. I have never faced discrimination, however I believe my partner and I have today at this establishment. My partner presented his Military id. Which provides name, age, rank as well as birthday and I presented my Pennsylvania state Id, both non expired valid forms of id used countless times. She initially accepted my state ID that did not have a real ID insignia, but came back to the table to say that my boyfriend's federal ID was not valid. (His id is accept through various bars, restaurants, hospitals, hotels, military bases, government facilities and TSA. I pointed out that mine under her criteria would not be valid either and then she abruptly said, can I see your ID again and went to the back for 6 minutes which will insinuate that she has no idea what their proper identification requirements are and she was going solely off of personal beliefs which hold no validity. We were the only young African American couple in the restaurant on a calm Tuesday evening to be denied. Our server displayed gross incompetence and extreme lack of care. I'm concerned for the young male waiter she presumably was training as she may not be the best example. What was supposed to be a nice afternoon celebrating my partner's military achievements was turned into an embarrassing social punishment. Do not dine if you'd like fair just service. We had an amazing dinner a few minutes away in the downtown area with beautiful lights and a classy sophisticated atmosphere. I was no surprise our very valid Ids were accepted there.

Two weeks ago we had the BEST SERVER attend to us, his name is RICHARD, so with such a great experience (this guy was friendly, professional, made amazing recommendations for meals & drinks!) - We decide to return. Tonight, my hubby and I arrived for dinner around 7pm. Hubby ordered: Steak with Potato Soup & Ceasar Salad The steak was good but next time he order without the combo strings and cheese, kinda took away from steak flavor. No biggie. Potato soup was too garlicky and milky, and salad was as expected - yummy! My order: Perfectly Salmon with Broccoli and Tasmanian Chili Soup. Salmon and broccoli way too salty for me. Slightly disappointed in the advertising menu! The Menu advertise as sides, seasonal rice AND veggies not OR, my server disagreed and said it's either or. Outback please edit your menu. Appetizer: cheese fries - delicious! Thank you Drinks: blue moon, and pineapple martini. Service was still great

Always love the steaks here. The service is always fast and friendly. I really enjoy the quiet atmosphere here. It's always good. Too bad I'd get fat eating here everyday.

Epic customer service via Johana! She was very attentive making sure our food was great, drinks refilled, that my girlfriend got the A1 sauce she wanted and that we were completely satisfied! Thank you so much! I tweeted the info on X too.

OK, I did not order the burger and fries, but my boyfriend did, and I ate half the fries on his plate, they were that good! The restaurant has a great vibe, and you can tell a lot of attention went into the design and overall atmosphere. The staff can be a bit hit or miss. Our servers have always been friendly and attentive, but the host has been a little off-putting on a couple of visits. The food is still very good, although I've noticed a slight decline in quality over my last two visits. That said, it hasn't been enough to keep me from coming back. Overall, it's a great restaurant and one I'd still recommend to anyone visiting or living in Frederick.

Did local boy Joey Madrones open his own joint? I know there is beer involved so I grab my co workers and we head on over to Madrones. We're here during the week and the place is jumpin'! I did not make a reservation and was able to snag a table with no wait. The beer selection is quite substantial with 24 beers on tap. I ordered a Hefeweizen to get the dinner party started. I started with the Fried Chesapeake Oysters. I mean, we're in Maryland so seafood is a must. The fried oysters were plump and quite tasty. Madrones is known for their Prime Rib so I ordered a small cut to start. The Au Jus along with the steak was a perfect cut for me. Served with the right cook on the steak, I recommend Madrones when you're in the mood for Prime Rib. I finished with Madrones Peanut Butter Pie, Mmm mm! Madrones, great meal! It's well seasoned, perfectly cooked, tender, and very flavorful The jus that comes with it is beefy and not over-salted as many are. My only gripe: you have to ask for horseradish to add to their horseradish sauce as it's really weak. I always the same sides: Caesar Salad and a baked potato. The salad is drenched with dressing by default, so I've learned to ask for dressing on the side. (And to 86 the sun-dried tomatoes. Who does that to a Caesar?). The potato is always well baked, with a fluffy interior and crisp exterior (and yes, I eat the skin. As my Mom used to say, "That's where the nutrients are"). I always ask for LOTS of butter, always get less butter than I want (they will bring more). I also always ask for chives, but they send out scallions (and actually had a server tell me their cook said "what's the difference?"). Minor quibbles all. A nice bourbon cocktail and warm rolls with honey butter to start, and my dinner is complete. No idea about their desserts; never made it that far, but someday... Enjoy!

Our server was knowledgeable and professional. She welcomed us, explained the menu and quickly brought brought water and lemons for the water. She was fantastic throughout the meal and made our experience wonderful. We ordered French onion soup and a "special" of fried green tomatoes for our appetizers. Complimentary, fresh, warm, honey-wheat bread with both regular and cinnamon sugar butters, was brought to the table. The bread had a very nice texture. The French onion soup was very delicious and not too sweet! It was perfectly balanced. The fried green tomatoes were fresh and the breading was perfectly crispy. However the "seasoning" was in the mildly spicy remoulade, which was served on the side. We also ordered a broiled seafood platter with sides of broccoli and twice baked potato. The hubs ordered char-grilled pork chops, grilled asparagus, and potato au gratin. Everything was perfectly cooked and tasty. We really enjoyed everything. Regarding ambiance, the dining room looks a bit formal with its white table cloth and dim lighting. However, everyone dressed casually - jeans, shorts, etc. This made for a very relaxed atmosphere. But..... Ultimately, and in spite of all the good, I will deduct one star simply because I believe the entire menu is overpriced.

I had driven two hours and was hungry, but I was also committed to making good decisions. Or at least mostly good decisions... The hostess offered me a seat at the second-floor bar rather than the quoted 25-30 minute wait. Great! Solo diners love surprise upgrades. Unfortunately, when I got upstairs, the one "available" seat had apparently been claimed by a diaper bag and a giant straw sunhat belonging to the woman sitting next to it holding a too-little-to-walk baby sitting at the bar. Uhhh...this isn't going to work. Back downstairs I went. I gave them my name and number, found a shady spot outside, and settled in for what I assumed would be a long wait. Five minutes later, my table was ready. Thank you, Universe! My server greeted me with water immediately, explained the QR code menu situation, and told me not to order through the app because she'd be right back. No worries, friend. I'd already done my homework. I knew exactly what I wanted. One Martha Stewart's Prison Pizza ($22), please. (Sausage, broccoli, ricotta, Calabrian chili peppers, lemon oil, and sea salt.) I asked for the chili peppers on the side because I know myself. I like adventure. I don't enjoy possibly setting my mouth on fire. And a Diet Pepsi ($3.50), because balance. While I waited, I people-watched, which is one of my favorite hobbies. White Rabbit was PACKED. The patio was full. The downstairs bar was full. Upstairs was full. Couples, groups of girlfriends, older folks, younger folks, families, solo diners...everyone seemed happy to be there. The place itself is pretty small, which explains the wait. Six tables downstairs, maybe eight bar seats, more seating upstairs, and a constant dance of servers carrying food through the same front door customers use. Add the "please wait to be seated" crowd gathering in the narrow hallway and I'd describe things as organized chaos. But once I was seated, I was perfectly comfortable and out of the traffic pattern. One cool touch I noticed: outlets and USB ports built right into the front of the bar. Maybe that's common and I've somehow missed it all these years, but I thought it was pretty neat. Then my pizza arrived. Oh good lawd. OH. GOOD. LAWD. This pizza was SO GOOD! I knew from the first bite that I was in trouble. There was no sauce, which surprised me at first, but after approximately three seconds I no longer cared. The sausage was plentiful. The broccoli added texture. The ricotta was creamy and rich. And that lemon oil?! That lemon oil set it off! Everything just worked together perfectly. The Calabrian peppers arrived on the side exactly as requested. I bravely sampled a very small amount on my fork before desecrating my pizza and quickly determined that folks with stronger heat tolerance than me will absolutely love them. They were just a little too spicy for my delicate tastebuds. Thankfully, the pizza was incredible without them. And those slices? MONSTERS. I ate one and seriously contemplated a second before reminding myself that I had dessert plans elsewhere. A box was requested. Self-control was exercised. Barely. As a solo diner, I also want to give White Rabbit extra points. Multiple staff members checked on me throughout the meal. I never felt forgotten, rushed, or weird sitting by myself. Everyone was warm, kind, and made me feel completely comfortable. I really appreciated that. My total bill came to $32.44 including tip which felt really reasonable given the amount of pizza I consumed and brought home. Worth every penny. I'm already scheming my next two-hour drive back. Maybe a smashburger. Maybe those Brussels sprouts everyone keeps raving about. Maybe another pizza. Maybe all of it! I highly recommend checking out White Rabbit. Make it a destination, not just a stop while you're in the area. Don't let the size of the place or the wait scare you off. It's totally worth it. PRO TIP: If you park in the Church Street Parking Garage, look for the staircase labeled "STAIR 3." White Rabbit is literally right outside the door at the bottom. No hide-and-seek required!

We found this restaurant after using Google Gemini…read moreto find "Authentic German Food" when we arrived in the parking lot, we saw the chefs sitting outside taking a breather next to where we'd parked, but thought nothing of it at first. It was our first year of dating anniversary but we failed to notice when looking the place up that they closed at 7:30pm. We walked in at about 7:40pm and the bartender regretfully informed us that they had just closed. We accepted the situation for the error it was on our part and opted to go elsewhere. So barely 3 minutes after walking up to the entrance, we were heading back to our truck. The chefs were still there and immediately asked us why we weren't staying to eat. When we explained that we hadn't realized they closed at 7:30, they looked at us and said, "Go back in there and tell them we said we're still open for you guys." We were a bit concerned that we'd cause hard feelings and said we could just come back a different day, and they wouldn't have it. "We're the guys who'll be cooking, not them, if we're okay with it, then what have you got to lose?" We looked at each other and thought briefly and headed back up to the entrance. I had mentioned that I had a spur of the moment 'hankerin' for German Food, and he said, "Well, you're at the right place!" Before we got back in the front door, one of the chefs (we learned shortly after were the owners) was already letting the bar staff know to get us seated and taken care of. My girlfriend ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu, and I ordered the Pork Schnitzel. We of course sampled each others' dishes and it was beyond amazing on both entrees. Some of the best schnitzel I've had NOT in Europe, and the mushroom onion gravy was so savory and rich. The Chicken was loaded with flavor and I could definitely see that being on a future order for myself. After we were beyond stuffed, we decided to split a dessert for the occasion and had the Chocolate Mousse Cake. When the bartender learned it was our first anniversary, she made sure to get a candle to put in the cake for us, it was a very nice and welcoming touch. The bar staff was on their game with the service, keeping drinks full and checking on us frequently to make sure we were good to go. There were only two other tables still seated in the restaurant at that point, and they were actually there already eating when we first arrived. They were still there when we departed, so we assumed they may have been family friends or locally important patrons. The ambiance of the restaurant has a very British Pub feel to it, and it is so amazingly cozy and feels like home. We both left with an amazing impression and cannot wait for another chance to try some of the other menu options. I'm very curious to try the Filet Mignon next time, but the Stroganoff looked quite tempting as well. I think we both found a place that we'll absolutely keep on the short list of places to revisit next time we're in town. It was such a memorable experience and we so greatly appreciated the flexibility and hospitality they demonstrated. That type of service is so hard to find these days. Beyond that, I REALLY want to try those Eclairs on a Thursday!

It is not a lot of food and it is $20, but we both thought it was worth it to come back to eat it again. The other dishes we ordered were good, but the most memorable was the deviled eggs. I liked how they had a leaderboard for frequent customers though. That was cool to just stare at. The location has parking on the rocks and it was full by 6 pm on a Thursday. There is outside seating and limited inside seating. The bar area looked fairly busy because it was happy hour time. It was cooked perfectly and paired with a very flavorful sauce. Highly recommended! * The Dessert: Finished with the coconut cake.
