Do you not go for curbside pick up. We went yesterday I ordered cheese fries at 6:08 PM. The latest it would be ready would have been 6:37 PM. We arrived and parked our car at about 6:20pm. We waited I received a message that our order was for filled at 6:33 meantime lots of people came and went with their food. Now remind you we only ordered cheese fries so we went up to the door about 640 and requested our money back. After asking two ladies where our food was they never came back to us and responded. We asked two different people for our money back finally the manager comes out with the food and says oh it just came out. He did refund our money and gave us the food. We drove to the front of the of the building in the parking lot to eat the cheese fries when we open them up they were cold the cheese was dried up I don't know how it just came out I believe they were sitting there for probably 20 to 30 minutes. Therefore I am not happy with the service the food the curbside pick up in general. I give this restaurant a low rating for their mistakes and their lies. A manager had requested that I go to outback/contact and put in a review that I would be contacted. I have done so and I have yet to be contacted I have also completed the survey that was emailed to me. Why respond to my yelp review when your company truly does not care. read more

I know it's a chain and I'll admit that I'm biased as I've been going to this Outback Steakhouse for over fifteen years. But there really isn't an American, mid-tier chain restaurant better than Outback Steakhouse, and their location in Frederick is outstanding. The staff is capable and friendly. There's tons of tvs around to watch sports. Of course, the cheese fries are the best appetizer. Ask for them layered. And be sure to get the bread. For entrees, the Victoria's center cut filet is my favorite steak, though the ribeye cooked over the flame is a close second. The Alice Springs chicken is delicious and a great option if you want something lighter. I'd also recommend the lamb. Don't bother saving room for dessert. read more

Not a good experience. I ordered Prime Rib. Sorry, no Prime Rib tonight. So, I ordered a 12 oz. Rib Eye medium rare. Sorry, it came out, but well done. Now, I'm eating my vegetables and baked potato waiting for the steak that needed to be re-fired. By the time it came out, veggies and potatoes gone. The portion of the "Rib Eye" that was actually beef was cooked properly, but 30% of it was fat. The manager told me Rib Eyes "usually have about 15% marbling" My guess is, he flunked math in school. Lots of fat and very thin. This has to be the WORST Rib Eye steak I've ever had in a restaurant. The server was nice, she did the best she could. I should have read the room better. The place was virtually empty when I walked in at about 7 pm which is a prime dinner hour. First time I've visited an Outback in several years. Well, so much for that. Never again. Ate there last night with my son and daughter-in-law and we all thought the food and service was excellent. Steaks perfectly cooked, our server Matt C was friendly, efficient and professional, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We were seated as soon as we arrived on a rainy Saturday night. Visited for dinner with my wife, food was horrible, asked for a medium cooked stake and it came medium rare, asparagus are $2.50 extra but came out undercooked. Service wasn't good, had to wait for sauces and drinks to come out for a while after asking for them. Spoke to manager about it and he didn't really seem to care. We arrived around 4:00 PM for an early dinner. We were properly and politely greeted at the door and very quickly seated. Cody was our server. We ordered the gluten free Alice Springs Chicken, 11 oz Center-cut Sirloin, and 8 oz center-cut Sirloin. We started out with the Peppered Ahi Tuna appetizer. The Ahi Tuna was cooked great and was presented very well and the flavor was very nice. All of our entrees were all cooked exactly the way we ordered. As always the flavor was just as expected and very much appreciated. The baked potatoes were also spot on. We ordered the house salads, one with house vinaigrette and one with ranch dressing. As always the salads did not disappoint. They were extremely fresh and put together just right. All in all we had another great dining experience at this location. Our server Cody was a shining spot of the whole meal. He was very polite and professional throughout the entire meal. What on earth did Outback do to its decor??? After its recent renovation, Outback Steakhouse now looks like a cross between some rando-diner and a generic-looking Ruby Tuesday. All of its drop lighting has been removed and the walls are now blank. That being said, Outback Steakhouse has good wings, and their steaks are surprisingly good for a chain restaurant. Visited for lunch and sat at the bar. I had a burger which was delicious. Hubby had the chicken thing that's cooked in the onion batter - it was fabulous! It actually looked just like the pic in the menu (a rarity). The pecan salad is worth the $2 upgrade. Delicious food. And, the restaurant felt very very covid aware - we loved how safe we felt. To begin, we decided to get curbside to-go... It was 16 minutes late. Once we finally got the food home, the real disappointment began. The chicken tender platter was absolutely awful, with fries that were a mushy mess. Tenders were cold and sinewy. According to my husband, the Ribeye was tough and flavorless. The bread was mediocre at best. Each part of the meal was more of a let down than the last. Finally, the "Thunder from Down-under" dessert looked like someone had taken a BITE out of it. Severely disappointed by the quality of the meal and left deeply unsatisfied. On a positive note, our dog enjoyed the leftovers. We stopped her for a curbside order. We ordered a Chocolate Thunder from Down Under dessert. An employee came right out when we arrived and took our payment. She was courteous and friendly. She came right back with our dessert. Very fast service. The dessert was fantastic as usual. When ordered to go they separate the brownie, ice cream, chocolate syrup and cream, so a little assembly is required when you get home. It's worth it! read more

We frequent this place fairly often as the inlaws really like the prime rib. That and the fried mushrooms are always ordered when we go. Including the blooming onion. I particularly like the filet and the salads here. The environment is soothing and welcoming most days and the staff is friendly. Never had that happen at any other Outback. Our server's name was John. He was so attentive, checked on us a few times, and made conversation with my 4 year old son. We have been here many times. I understand that there is a new owner. Sad We went for dinner this evening and they have redone their menu. They did it on personal computer, Print was so small I could not even read with my glasses. Then it had no prices on it. When we asked the waitress she did not know what we were talking about. She said she would ask. We waited for a bit and she did not return. She asked if I wanted a drink and I told her I would like to know how much before I order. We decided to leave. We went to Outback yesterday evening and had a very mediocre dining experience. It may have been due to covid, but the atmosphere, which was once cheerful and colorful, seemed non-existent. We sat in a dark booth in a corner with all the ambiance of a picnic table. Our server was attentive, but the food was only so so. The salad was pedestrian at best, and my wife's baked potato was not served with the ordered toppings. Our (not very) large filet mignons, which were served medium, as ordered, were thin, dry and had a slightly pasty texture. Any flavor of the fillets was undetectable due to the (lightly only please) seasoned exterior that completely dominated the meat. I ordered curbside to go via online ordering on a sunday evening (2 burgers and a side of aussie fries - nothing crazy They said 25 minutes - i showed up at the 35 minute mark, since i know they sometimes run a bit behind. After about 5 minutes, a server came out and took my payment and said it would just be a couple more minutes. I sat in my car for a full 30 minutes (so the food in total, took 45 minutes longer than what i was quoted) after that waiting for them to bring my order. After 20 minutes I finally flagged down a server to ask them what was up. I dont know if they just forgot my order, or if their prep timing is really this much of a mess. The food was fine.. but taking a full 45 minutes longer (so a 70 minute wait, in total) to have a takeout order ready? What a joke. read more

Horrible. Went here Sunday at 2pm. Sat in the tables around the bar area because the host said they were self seating. But, all of the open tables were dirty. We asked to sit at one, and the host said someone would cone clean it off. We sat there for a good ten minutes before the server came. She took our drink orders and didn't even notice the table had crumbs and food bits all over it. She brought the drinks, and we had to ASK HER to wipe the table off. Service was fine, however the food missed on just about every part. Wife and I ordered 2 NY Strip bone-in, one with a salad which had a very tiny amount of dressing (we also overheard an adjacent table complaining about the same on their salad). Her steak was ordered medium, mine med-rare. The majority of mine was medium approaching med-well, but was not a bone in strip and judging by the amount of fat it was more likely a ribeye. My wife's was med on a small part and the rest was Med-well to well done. The rice side I ordered was very dried out on top so I'm guessing our food sat under a heat lamp for too long causing the overcooking of my wife's steak and the rice to be dry. My steak just was over cooked from the get go. Also, when we first sat down there was something on the underside of her table that got on her pants when she crossed her legs. Had to ask for napkins to wipe it off. I'm sure the bottoms of tables aren't usually checked but the server was notified of the issue, along with the rest of the food issues so hopefully it was all relayed to be addressed. I had DoorDash deliver time this evening. I got the bacon bourbon salmon with a potato and a blue cheese wedge salad. The salmon was not cooked all the way through but the seasoning on the outside was good. Than comes the wedge salad had WAY to much salt on it. My partner and I came in from Towson, MD looking around Frederick for a future home as well as just a nice day in Frederick. We received a $25 gift card earlier in the year and decided to use it while visiting. For an Outback Steakhouse, our experience was FANTASTIC! It was around 3:00 when we arrived, which isn't peak dinner time nor lunch. We were seated immediately in a couples seat, not at a table for four or six. We're used to being seated in a large table for six when it's just us. Our server was very personable and friendly. The prices are kind of high but that's how it is with almost any steakhouse you visit. I decided to enjoy one of their brand new strawberry mash martinis and would love to have many more! The main meals were the The Hearts of Gold Mahi as well as the Steak and Lobster Tail. Holy cow, both my partner and I were in love with the entrees. Thank you to the chefs for the exquisite meals! I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews for this location but at the time we had our early dinner, this location was perfect! Let's see....I went in what has been a couple weeks ago now after a long business meeting one early afternoon. I had run home to change into comfy clothes after wearing a stuffy suit that morning/afternoon. When I walked in the hostess was friendly enough but the expression I got from the waiter with the medium length dreadlocks in his hair was horrific. Usually you smile at customers when they come in, not STARE at them up and down as though you think you are better than. I guess he thought based on the fact that I was dressed down (cute casual Old Navy skirt /tshirt and flip flops as this isnt a classy establisment at all) I wouldnt have enough money to pay him a decent tip......The girl seated me in a different waiters area based on the look he gave her?? I observed their ignorant transactions with one another even though they thought they were being discreet. Tsk...Anyway, the food was average as usual...I dont eat meat so my options are usually very limited. Long story short, I wont go back to this place because the atmosphere was negative...The people who worked there looked like they hated their jobs and as I've mentioned before, the food is just average. At the end of my meal I gave the waiter an extremely HUGE tip in hopes that he would go back and fan it in the miserable dreadlocked headed guy's face. Never again.... read more

The whole staff pitched in the help run food and our server kept the drinks full. I am a single mom of two and getting out to eat is a rare treat for us. When my ex and I were first married, his job at Outback was the main employment and it had only been in existence for like 2 years. Even though he came to them with 4+ years of wait staff experience, getting hired was a three interview + training process. In those first years, because of his discount, we ate it fairly often (2x a month) and my eldest grew up with "coconut shrimp" being her favorite food. So I was excited about Outback to choose it as the place to take my two youngest and myself to for my birthday last summer. I knew very well what to expect. But my expectations were crushed. The service was alright but the food was not at all up to the standards of its former years. The 6 oz victoria's filet I ordered myself was no more than 3 oz of meat that was *tough*... a filet!! ordered medium and came well done, and lukewarm. The kids' meals were likewise overcooked and underheated. Arriving after a 20 minute wait. For the price of half a week's worth of groceries, the meal was disappointing to say the least. Because I was once a waiter's wife, I paid 20% to my server with a smile, but I haven't been back since. I'm sad to say the heyday of this once-well run chain has come and gone. read more
