Sometimes at 930pm on a Saturday night you need a bloomin onion. This Outback is tucked away off of Montour Run Road. Online ordering was a breeze, and the to-go side door was hassle free. So, I am writing this review after coming here twice to see if my opinion changed. It has not. For the word "steakhouse" in its name you'd think the steak would be good, right? Well wrong. It isn't. Worst steak ever both times I went. It wasn' t cooked properly maybe? Or just not good quality steak. Fries I got with my steak tasted old and heated up probably in the microwave. I've eaten at this Outback a number of times over the years but this review will be based on my Christmas Eve visit. We arrived around 4:00 as a party of five and were promptly seated. About 10 minutes after we arrived 30 people or so came in. Our waitress was very friendly, pleasant, and attentive. We had a bloomin onion which was excellent. My potato soup was ok, but a little bland. My prime rib was a really nice cut and a lot of flavor. Everyone in my party had either a steak or shrimp. Everything was amazing!!! We visited yesterday evening for dinner was blown away with the whole experience. The restaurant was clean and well kept, our food was cooked perfectly, the drinks were so yummy (lavender lemonade was delish), the wait staff was attentive and friendly. My family and I were not sure where to eat dinner even after naming around 10 places. Finally my dad suggested Outback Steakhouse and we all agreed that this was a great idea because we have not been there in forever. We got there and the wait was 45 minutes. We did not want to wait that long, but we still really wanted to eat here, so we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was one of the best bartenders/waitresses I have ever encountered at a restaurant. She was extremely quick to take our order and answer any questions we had despite how busy she was. Once we ordered and received our drinks, she brought out two loaves of warm bread. This is one of the best parts of their restaurant in my opinion. Each of our drinks were delicious and made very quickly. We ordered our meals and they arrived within 20 minutes. I thought this would take longer because the wait was so long, but it did not. It seemed like a simple visit just to pick up a gift card. It seemed suspicious when I was not provided an activation receipt, but when I I asked about the advertised $10 bonus card, I was told oh no, that promotion was over. I pointed out it was still a promotion for an additional month and was told no. I then asked for a manager who after 10 minutes asked ME for verification of the promotion and I showed them the advertisement on their very own table, I suggested they were running a scam and only then did they find the promotion card and after a bit confirmed the card was activated but only AFTER they re entered the amount. The bartender was running's scam and probably supported by management. If I would have left, I am betting I would have been out a promotion amount and found the card was not activated. Very suspicious and I won't return here. Maybe they are used to scamming travelers to the airport. Poor ethics! read more

Been here several times. Hubby n I usually order their steaks and/or prime rib. What's Hot - Rewards system. I have their smartphone app (Dine Rewards), which is great. I can order takeaway and delivery orders through the app. For their rewards system, for every 3 visits, you get $20 off your fourth visit, which is pretty good. Outback partners with Flemings Steakhouse, Carraba's, and Bonefish Grill. That you can use the app at 4 locations is a pretty good perk. - Partner with UberEats and DoorDash, which can be pretty helpful. - Price. Pretty reasonable, especially for the portions you get for the food. - Quality. For the most part, the quality of their food is very good. Love their baked sweet potatoes, which appear to be pretty popular. To be aware, there was a time when hubby n I both tried to order sweet potatoes as our sides and they were out. Their veggies are cooked through, tender, and not overly buttery, which is great. Their fries don't survive takeaway very well, which I guess is to be expected. The quality and flavor of their steaks is pretty good. I'm a fan of their prime ribs, filet mignon, sirloin, and their ribeye. The only thing that is a hit or miss is the doneness of the steak (ie: medium, medium well, etc...). Hubby n I normally order our steaks medium, which means there needs to be a little pink in the middle. There have been times when our steaks didn't have any pink in the middle. There isn't a good reliability factor of their steaks. What's Not - Service. Their service is below average. There have been times our group has made a reservation and they lose the reservation. The result is we end up being seated much later. Not cool. Hubby n I have ordered takeaway during the physical distancing requirements under Covid-19. There are times our order isn't ready (ie: late) and/or some items from our orders are missing. For example, there was a time when they didn't include a side order. Of course, we didn't realize this by the time we left, which means it's too late to do anything to fix the problem. - Smartphone app. This ties in to their service, but they're not very good about entering my visits on my smartphone app account. Be aware that if you order takeaway through any of the delivery systems (UberEats, Door Dash, whatever), it does not automatically get entered into the smartphone app. You have to contact Outback through their online reporting system to add the visit. Even then, they're not good about doing it. For example, hubby n I ordered through UberEats one time. We didn't get a receipt through Outback in order to report the visit through the Outback app. When I contacted Outback for this visit, they didn't reply at all. Final Answer The only reason why I come back to this Outback location is because it's a chain restaurant (which means I can add a visit to their rewards system; I can use gift cards here; I can use coupons when they're available). If this place were not a chain and was a regular mom n pop restaurant, I would not come back here because of the service. read more

Recently the last 2 times we did family take-away meals have been terrible (filet bricks and raw porterhouse) missing sides) and way over priced ($165.00 before tip?!) Last take-away order it seems the change in management for the worse and the chef doesn't care about take-away. Veggies underdone, shrimp seared/burnt..worst filet brick I have ever seen delivered to a customer), and 2 filets that were smaller than a Dove hotel sized bar of soap. My Ribeye was more fat, and it seemed the marbling indicated a choiThey didn't pack the Cesar salad, and missing a side of Mac'n cheese. I still have hope, but to be honest I would rather pay CostCo for the steak and make it myself.. it will be more flavorful, cut thicker, and cheaper. I often forget outback is up nestled in the parking lot off Montour Run .. and yesterday instead of going to longhorn we were excited to patronize the Outback. Its been many years. We were seated in the bar area and the bartender waited on us. The service was awesome at the restaurant. It was fun to browse the menu and we had no problems deciding on what to get. We ordered the sampler for an appetizer. It was good - just mediocre. My boyfriend didn't like the fries or mac n cheese bites said it was bland. I liked the dipping sauces with the food and it definitely helped enhance the flavor of each item. I ordered the prime rib steak and it was ok. Everything was just average and we weren't too impressed with the food and wished we had went to Longhorn like we originally planned. We had a great experience at Outback Steakhouse! We chose to dine in and you could tell the restaurant was taking every precaution to keep their customers safe. Every other table/booth was closed to promote social distancing and staff wore masks and gloves. Our waiter, Joel, was fabulous! He took our drink order and brought out the warm bread right away. We ordered a bloomin' onion (standard, of course), which came out quickly. For my main meal, I ordered the Queensland chicken and shrimp pasta. My fiancé and I have been to this Outback twice so far and have had wonderful experiences both times! Our first time here was a couple months ago on a weekday. It was the first time we had been out to eat since the pandemic began and our server was named J. He had worked at this Outback for years, and you could definitely tell based on his professionalism! He was so kind and helpful when navigating the menu, especially considering I have celiac disease (gluten allergy). Didn't get sick at all, and our rare steaks were cooked to perfection! He was also very personable and charismatic, but knew when to give us our space. The perfect kind of server! Tonight (a Saturday) we returned to this Outback for another date night. We only had to wait 20 minutes which was amazing compared to our original quoted 50 minutes when we did their "call ahead seating." We requested J, but we learned he only works weekdays, so our server was a wonderful man named Christian. He was so personable, prompt, and also so helpful, just like J! The kitchen accidentally made my house salad with croutons (which I cannot have on my food due to my allergy to gluten), and when I pointed it out to Christian, he apologized, took the salad back, and promptly came back with a new one. No fuss! So nice. I used to be a server pre-pandemic, so at the end of our meal I moved the remainder of our dirty plates and cups to the edge of the table to make it faster for the bus boy. As we were walking away, the bus boy (I can't remember his name, but he was a younger man with a beanie and longer brown hair!) stopped me to thank me for moving the dirty dishes to the edge because it's people like me who make his life so much easier. All in all, the staff at this Outback is extraordinary, and their food is equally as amazing! We will continue to drive out of the way to come here for our date nights! We live in Mt. Lebanon, so this is about a 20-30 minute drive for us depending on traffic, and it is ALWAYS worth the drive. Thank you for your wonderful service, especially during these unprecedented times!! Will they be able to pull up? Who knows. The service has been cordial but otherwise off. Many mistakes, slow. The kitchen is off. Very long time for service, lots of lower quality preparation than we had become accustomed to. The restrooms were disgusting. Anyone who knows me can tell you that I'm not a big chain restaurant fan. We happened to be near an Outback after a baseball game, I had a craving for a steak, and so we decided to stop in. It had honestly been three or four years since I set foot inside one of their restaurants so I wasn't expecting much. First off, the place was packed! Luckily we didn't have to wait for a table though. Our server Joel was nice, but you could tell he was swamped. It looked like he was waiting on too many tables for one person. He told us that their new menu had just come out and immediately we spied the 22 oz bone-in ribeye. Both of us decided to go with that. I had mine with a baked potato and my husband ordered his with a salad. The steaks both came out cooked to perfection, 1was medium rare and the other medium. For $29 you can't beat the price to get a 22 oz ribeye! I realize this isn't a fine dining establishment, but the steak was seasoned well, cooked as good as it could be, and had great flavor. Was out of town and looking for something to eat. I've been to Outback many times at different locations and the food was good each time. But when I ordered my steak it came back very undercooked and was basically raw. I sent it back to get it done more and they can back with this thing TORCHED! I mean it was brown on the inside and I ordered medium rare. They were apologetic and took it off the bill and offered to make me a new one. Yesterday my husband and I went out for a date night and decided to go to outback for our only 2nd time going . We ordered a crab cake and it was not prepared the right way like we had our last visit. It was a mess! Then we got our dinner. Coconut shrimp was burnt and very chewy. I had a half of one and my husband had a bite of a piece. The others went to waste. Our steak was a medium which came out burnt and chewy. We were very disappointed in our meal. Our waitress was wonderful. She was working very hard. I went to the restroom where there was no toilet paper in my stall and went to wash my hands no soap and no paper towels ?!
