Engine cover hanging from bottom of car.
    Angel D.

Purchased this vehicle for my daughter. She is a new driver and has only driven it a few times with me in the car. When I initially test drove the car, it ran nice, practically perfect and smooth. I was told the car had to go through inspection, and maintenance (oil change, tire rotation, filter changes, etc.) and wouldn't be ready until the end of the week and it was Monday. I signed and paid. Fast forward, I then drive the car home in the evening (as I needed my husband to drive me the 45 mins there during rush hour to pick it up). I happened to pick it up as they were closing. Heading home the car was not driving the way it had on the test drive, and had they not have closed would have turned around and taken it back. During its first oil change, I had them look at the car and told them the situation. Maintenance then told me the cars tires had dry rotted and all needed to be replaced, along with the engine guard being damaged, needed replaced and was hanging (see picture). Of course the maintenance warranty I purchased doesn't cover this, surprise, surprise. Not only do I feel the inspection done to the car by the dealership overlooked the engine cover coming down/ripped, they also changed out the tires from when I test drove it. There is no way the tires got that bad in 3 days. For the price I paid for the car, the age it was, it should have came with brand new tires as when I test drove it. This was not the only issue. The vehicle was supposed to come with 2 key fobs. I got 1 key with no fob. I called and spoke to the young sales rep, and he said he would look around and see. I didn't hear back. I texted him, twice...he eventually ghosted me. That is $500 (2 x $250 a piece), I could have used to negotiate a better price, but because they did not disclose until pick up --left me no choice but to eat the cost. Total bill they wrote up for tires and to fix the engine cover was over $1k. My advice to you when dealing with this sales department: 1. Do not purchase the warranty agreement. It doesn't cover much of anything that will likely need fixed/replaced. 2. Wait for them to finish all maintenance before you test drive and if you can don't let them take the car back to their shop to do anything. It should be ready to go home on the lot as is. 3. Get it inspected by a 3rd party as soon as you drive it off the lot. Unfortunately this dealership was not honest and open with me and did some pretty shady stuff to make some extra $$. I will not be back to buy another car here. And this is why there needs to be more laws to protect consumers. There should be a 3 day return period like there is with other door to door sales. Heck, even a house you can get out of a sale when people aren't honest. This is why car salesmen will cont to be the slimy creatures we hate so much. I'd rather get a colonoscopy than to deal with the blood sucking liars again.

This is the best Kia center in DMV, over 10 years I bought 7 different Kias from different dealers, and I bought two cars here and sold two cars to them, always a good experience, and today I wanted to mention the guy from the service Tom is a master of his work, keep up the good work guys.

New car needs oil change after 600 miles/1 month.

DECEPTIVE SALES TACTICS AND CONSUMER INTIMIDATION Do not…read moretrust this dealer's verbal promises. They use "Signing Fatigue" and misleading sales tactics to defraud customers. 1. The Bait and Switch: During the purchase of my 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300, the Finance Manager aggressively pushed a $3,000 NVP Warranty. I was explicitly told it was "Bumper-to-Bumper" and covered the entire engine. This was a lie. They rushed me through a massive stack of digital documents, hiding the fact that they were actually selling me a highly restricted plan. 2. Failure to Honor Commitments: When the car suffered major PCV and LED failures (P052E), NVP denied the claim because of how the dealer registered the contract. The dealer now hides behind "AS-IS" clauses to avoid responsibility for their verbal misrepresentations. 3. Legal Intimidation: Instead of acting in good faith to resolve the $3,000 fraud, this dealer had their In-House Counsel send me a "Cease and Desist" letter to intimidate me into silence. They would rather pay a lawyer to bully a customer than honor their sales promises. I have officially filed formal complaints with the Virginia Attorney General (OAG), the Motor Vehicle Dealer Board (MVDB), and the SCC. I am seeking a full refund and a state investigation into their business license. If you value your money and your rights, buy your car elsewhere.

So we did do a lot of other car shopping and some research into the car we liked here, and I will say that in the end, my daughter ended up with a great car at a fair price. Everyone here was willing to work with us and the car has met our expectations. I would recommend this place for sure!!

Let me offer a little financial education wrapped inside a story and review because what happened…read moreat Capital Auto Sales was a masterclass in "Buyer Beware 101." We looked at a used 2011 Audi with low miles that was labeled a "Great Value" online via CarFax. Fun fact: those platforms base their ratings on local market listings, not true vehicle valuation. Translation: if ten dealerships all overprice their cars, the least overpriced one magically becomes a "Great Deal." It is basically the best of the worst award. The salesman seemed friendly enough at first until he learned we had our own financing. Suddenly he avoided eye contact like the truth was physically painful. Those were absolutely not the words he wanted to hear. And that is when the "FUN" math party started. Most credit unions follow a 125 percent loan-to-value rule which means they will only finance up to about 125 percent of a car's real verified worth so you do not end up deeply upside down the moment you sign. When our lender pulled the actual numbers using industry standard data, the car's true value came back at about $11k. Not the sticker price. Not the market hype. The real valuation. So a car worth $11k has a maximum safe loan amount somewhere around $13,700 total. This includes tax, title, license, and fees. That is the cap. Period. Capital Auto Sales, however, wanted us to pay several thousand dollars more than that...and was bold enough to ask us to put money down to pay for their markups. GASP...THE NERVE! When our credit union refused to fund the inflated price, the salesman suddenly rolled out an entire menu of preferred lenders who would be thrilled to help us overpay. You know the type. The ones that would probably finance a cardboard box with wheels if the dealership slapped on a protection package and called it "premium." Yes. Those. At that point the math was mathing. Once you know the real value of a car, agreeing to pay way above that would be financially irresponsible. No amount of awkward explanations or other lenders could change basic arithmetic. To make matters even more entertaining, they also tried to slip in junk fees and a questionable "APEX Protect" package which was really just an aftermarket tracker for their benefit...disguised as a necessity. None of it added value. All of it added cost. This is not business. This is bad business. Buyer Beware truly applies here. Capital Auto Sales relies on customers not understanding loan to value rules, true vehicle valuations, or the tactics dealers use to mask inflated pricing. If you shop here, go in with your eyes wide open. Better yet, go somewhere with ethical practices and transparent pricing. Protect your wallet before their deals empty it. We walked away educated, not defeated. And if this review helps someone else avoid overpaying by thousands, then sharing it was absolutely worth it.

WE GOT SCAMMED. DO NOT come here and buy a car. We checked the Carfax and everything was in perfect condition. Less than a month in, the car had very bad problems with the pistons and was eating away the oil. We have to add oil to the car EVERY WEEK. The Carfax showed no problems, which is why we didn't purchase a warranty (because it seemed like gimmick tax-ons if there were no problems during the inspection). But people know that piston problems don't just appear immediately after 1 month. This is a problem that takes time to accumulate. We called back and they said there was NOTHING that could do to help??? We were LIED to regarding any engine problems that the car could have had. This was the worst scamming experience in my life that scammed us out of THOUSANDS of dollars. We got other opinions if this was a problem that could be fixed. All opinions advised we should sell/trade the car because fixing it would require building a whole new engine and would cost the same as buying another car! I have NEVER written a review before for any place and this is my first. I am a business administrator, journalist, and entrepreneur and will make sure to share the word regarding this SCAMMING BUSINESS with the DC news, DMV friends/family, and the Better Business Bureau. This is the most unprofessional dealership business and their intentions were just to get rid of a car with major problems. He took the time to explain what was recommended, why it was needed, and answered my questions in a way that was easy to understand. His approach felt informative and honest rather than like a sales pitch. Pedro also went above and beyond in a way that I truly appreciated. I had wiper blades in my car that needed to be installed so I could pass my state safety inspection, and he personally offered to put them on for me. That may seem like a small gesture, but it meant a lot to me. It showed that he was willing to take the extra step to help a customer, even when he didn't have to. I did have a longer wait than I expected, but Pedro made such a difference in that experience. He repeatedly checked on me, kept me updated, and made sure I wasn't left wondering what was happening. His communication and attentiveness made the wait much easier. What really stood out to me, though, was watching Pedro interact with everyone around him. He was consistently kind, respectful, and patient with every customer I saw him assist. He never seemed rushed or dismissive. When people had questions, he took the time to listen and explain things thoroughly. He also has a wonderful ability to explain car mechanics and technical information in everyday language, which makes a huge difference for customers who aren't knowledgeable about cars.
