Walked by Otto on the way to meet friends in Harvard square. No line at 5pm. The slice of pepperoni pizza was an awesome snack! Great tomato sauce. Good amount of pepperoni. They heated up the slice upon ordering. Slices large, but $3.75 cost is on the pricey side - 1 star less due to that. Would come back again though if in the area! read more

OTTO - Slice of pepperoni pizza $3.75 - Pizza Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Otto pizza for president! We are picky about our pizza, and this is our favorite pizza place in Boston and potentially anywhere. The butternut squash cranberry ricotta slice (fresh) is to die for, and I'm not usually one to love veggie options by default. Our second fave is chicken, pear, fontina, which usually is available only by the pie. Mango bbq chicken is also superb. We use Levelup to pay and have found Otto's loyalty rewards to be pretty generous, which also keeps us coming back! read more

Second best pizza in Harvard Square. Crust is thin, sauce is tangy, a bit oily, quality ingredients. Two complaints-- 1. Slices are not consistently the same size (pet peeve of mine.) Whoever cuts the pies needs a lesson in symmetry. 2. Very few of their "veggie" slices actually have vegetables on them. Usually it's just variations on plain cheese pizza... four cheese, cheese tortellini, ricotta basil, margherita, etc. read more

The people on counter are extremely nice. The pizza is flavourful. They have different flavors each day- butternut squash, cranberry, ricotta pizza is served on Fridays and Wednesdays. read more

I love their unique options for thin crust style pizza. The sriracha chicken avocado and buffalo cauliflower are two of my favorites! I recently had an issue with my order with one of their partner delivery apps and as soon as I gave them a call they were so quick to sort it out! Awesome customer service! read more

Great pizza BUT absolutely no space to enjoy it. I prefer to visit the Brookline location... Great bar and a fun space. But if you want a slice or to grab a pie for work lunch, this location is fine. make sure to reheat your fresh pie once it makes it all thr way back to your air-conditioned cubicles...cold pizza is a crime. read more

Warning: my review may be biased because I am a native NYer and although I love thin crust pizza, I've had way better pizza then this. I agree with other posts that the different rotations of toppings is "gourmet" and I think that's what draws people in. I don't enjoy the thin crust though; it's a combination of a cracker and a salty thin flatbread but it was really chewy and not flavorful, just salty. I didn't really think the price was justified. The service was great though! read more

Today was my first time at Otto's Pizza in Harvard Square. I went back again later the same day. My first time, I was there at around 2:00 PM today for a late lunch. I ordered 2 slices of pizza: Pepperoni and a mango/pulled pork pizza. I put about a teaspoon of salt on my pepperoni slice, and then I realized that it was not parmesan that I was putting on my pizza. It was, in fact, sea salt. So, I had to throw that slice away. The owner was there, and he got me another slice of pizza, free of charge. I thanked him for this. It was very kind of him. My mango-pork pizza was superb, and quite a pizza revolutionary. Later today, at around 8:00 PM, I went back for 2 more slices: A mushroom and a mashed-potato-and-bacon slice. I liked the pizzas quite a bit, and the crust was also really good. Here are my assessments: 1. This place has re-invented pizza. The pizza with tomato sauce will never die, but it is tired now. Using a mango puree in lieu of tomato sauce is revolutionary. Only in New England can this revolution take place! 2. Very high quality. 3. Excellent and polite owner who reimbursed me for MY OWN MISTAKE. 4. NO SITTING ROOM! $6 for 2 slices is a full meal. read more

I just moved here from New York - so when I had my first Cambridge slice at Otto's I wasn't expecting anything spectacular.....boy was I wrong. I had the ricotta basil slice - the crust was thin and crispy and the ingredients tasted fresh. Definitely not your standard slice ...but really delicious. I'm looking forward to trying some of their other interesting flavours. read more

Ok pizza slices, not much flavor to it naybe post lunch, local ice tea ok as well. Nothing extraordinary read more

Great pizza. Right across the street from Harvard. Not a lot of seating outside. Definitely check it out for a quick bite.

Great option for a quick slice while on the go. Fantastic options - hard to pick. Mashed potato pizza is amazing. Thin crust, typical greasy street food. Give it a try. read more

Best crust ever. Unusual toppings along with some that hint at tradition. Always mad delicious. I hardly ever eat pizza but weaken for Otto's every time and walk away feeling great. read more

The inside is minuscule, the outside seating is very pleasant (weather dependent). The staff is pleasant without being overbearing. The slices are thin and crispy with enough width to fold, but not so much that it feels like an exaggeration. The tastes that really stand out are a pleasant bread and an outstanding tomato sauce. I had a slice of pepperoni, but the tomato sauce, tasted so much like fresh tomato, was the real star. If you like thin and crispy this should definitely be on your local list. read more

What makes a pizza different is the crust, when you don't mind eating it alone. Otto has the best taste of a crust which does not get lost with the flavors of the topping, you just feel this biscuity taste in your mouth. Why am I dedicating a paragraph to the crust ? because it is a culinary technique that is almost hard to be perfect in, and Otto excelled in kneading and baking it. And Yes, the toppings are delicious and divers. It was such a treat for me to pass by Otto on my way home and take a slice or a whole pizza with me when I was living near Harvard Sq. I just miss it .. read more

Otto serves some creative pizzas (opens late night too). It's not your cheesy, greasy, thick-crusted pizza, but it dishes out some delicious combinations of fresh ingredients by the slice! I love how it rotates the menu, serving about 6 special pizzas every time along with your usual cheese and pepperoni. So far I've gotten the mushroom cauliflower, chicken + mango, and bacon+scallion+mashed potatoes. Have yet to be disappointed! Eat it while it's hot, it's not as good the next day. read more

Their Sausage onion pie is my favorite. Hands down the best pizza! Staff A+ Pizza A+ Keep making the pizza with love! read more

I am so glad that Otto exists. I am spending the summer in Cambridge and am generally quite picky about my pizza, so I was beginning to despair after being disappointed by Pinocchio's and other local Cambridge establishments. But Otto saved me. Not only is it open late and conveniently located, but the pizza is really, really good. They always have unusual toppings - my favorite so far is the pizza with butternut squash, ricotta cheese and cranberries. Really the only problem with Otto is their lack of indoor seating. On nice days it's not a problem, because there are tables outside, but in poor weather or late at night (which, admittedly, is when I usually come here) it can be a problem. There is a little window bar inside the restaurant but usually I'll take the pizza outside and go find somewhere to sit and eat it. It's also not particularly cheap ($3.50 a slice) but the slices are large and delicious so I personally think that it is definitely worth it. All in all, definitely the go-to place for pizza around Harvard Square. read more

Good pizza, a little on the pricey side by the slice but that seems to be par for the course in Cambridge especially right at Harvard square. Inventive and delicious pizza flavor combinations but limited to outdoor seating and a stand up inside counter and I felt like I was in the way waiting for my slice to heat up. It's a good place to try something new but I don't think I'll be a regular here. Also this is based entirely on my experiences as a walk up and only get 1 or 2 slices, I've never ordered a full pizza to go so maybe that's a different experience. read more

Love the variety and thin crust; the only thing I dislike is waiting uncomfortably in the small and crowded store. Lorenz' pro tip: Butternut Squash, Ricotta & Cranberry, and Pulled Pork & Mango. Haven't found any other place with equally exciting varieties of pizza! read more

This is currently my go-to place for a quick slice (or 3). I love the large selection of pizzas each time- there's always 6 unique pies to choose from in addition to the usual cheese and pepperoni. As soon as I hear that mango is on a slice, that'll be my pick of the day... Mango and pulled pork pizza was delicious! Reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the inconvenience of the setup when it gets crowded, and the crust can be inconsistent sometimes. The crust is usually airy with just enough bite, but I've had times when it has been burnt, which is not too fun. Definitely check this place out! It's in a great and lively location too read more

A little overpriced, but it's tasty, the toppings are interesting, and the staff always makes an effort to be friendly and helpful even though they could easily not care and get away with it, which I think deserves more appreciation. Seriously, it's the small things. However, if you're looking for a thick, filling, disgusting piece of pizza, this isn't your place. read more

some of the best pizza I've ever had, and definitely the best outside of the North End I've had in Boston. really great, fast and friendly service read more

I tried two flavors, both taste okay, but are a bit on the greasy side. They have some outdoor dining spaces which works fine for the summer but probably won't work well in the winter. read more

This place serves NYC style pizza so you either fold it, or look like a complete idiot trying to eat you pizza. We grabbed a few slices to go, and it cost around $10 with tax. They don't use a lot of sauce so it was a little bland. They also have a slice punch card if you want to make it part of your regular routine. Good location, mediocre pizza. read more

I think it is my love for deep dish pizza that prevents me giving out a 5 star but the flavors at Otto's are tremendous and the pizza itself is great. I also think the pizza gets a bit pricey but overall if you are looking for some pizza in Harvard Square this is top 2 for sure! read more

while one might say. it's only pizza but theirs is really special and the promptness of the service and the location make it a true winner.

Best fancy delivery pizza. They have many topping options including roasted pears, sriracha chicken, pulled pork, mangoes etc. We tried the pulled pork and mango pizza but added red sauce- awesome. The pulled pork is a little spicy but with the mango it was great. We also got the roasted pear, blue cheese pizza. Also great, a little lighter and sweeter pizza. Then we decided to make our own and it ended up being our favorite: asiago, roasted chicken, sausage, vidalia onions, ricotta. The pizza is a tad pricey but the ingredients are all very fresh and great quality. 4 instead of 5 stars due to price and they could use to put a little more toppings on the pizza. read more

Rude and aggressive counter staff. After asking a simple question I was treated with a very rude response and an aggressive stare from the kid behind the counter. Not only was the behavior strange and unprofessional, but it seemed targeted, aimed at provoking a response. It was a very odd and confusing situation to be in at a pizza shop. I would actually recommend the pizza as it's pretty tasty. But the terrible service is reason enough to skip this place. read more

This was my late-night spot after class. When I was ready for my 10 pm slice, I'd walk across the yard to Otto, eagerly anticipating my mashed potato-scallion-bacon pizza. The pizza is inventive and they always nailed the toppings, the pizza crust, and the flavor combinations. It's a bit more pricey than I'd like, but it's unique and now I have cravings for their pizza. However, it always bothered me that, although there would often be a line and several people behind the counter, I'd watch as several people behind the counter would stand around doing nothing (or chatting with each other), while only two people were actually trying to handle the line (cash register and oven heating). But even at the cash register, I'd watch the person at the register chat and carry on full conversations with customers and other employees, as the line snaked out the door. Don't f****g chat at the cash register when there is a long line. I know you're being friendly and all, but seriously, just be polite and keep the line moving. You don't need to discuss life stories - and no one is trying to network as they wait for their pizza. I would consistently see one girl working her buff off near the oven, while her useless co-workers stood around seemingly trapped in jello. So -1 star for those useless people. read more

It's a small pizza joint in the center of Harvard square. They usually have about eight pizzas out for you to choose a slice from. You can also order a full pie. Pros -Highly convenient/great location -Interesting toppings... one of my favorites is the tortellini pizza. Cons -No indoor seating, for those 8 cold months. -Steep price ($3.75/slice) Conclusion: If you're walking by, try a slice. Would give them another star or two if the price was more reasonable. **It's cash only except for larger purchases** read more

A little pricey, but my favorite pizza I've ever had. Very quick, you just order slices to go

Best pizza is town.....! They use the best quality ingredients which is why their pizzas are so delicious. I love their cauliflower/basil, and mashed potato and bacon pizza. The one minor issue I have encountered here is that they often burn the bottom of the pizza. So, after this happening many times, now while ordering, I specifically ask them not to burn the crust and that's been working out very well. Best way to enjoy their pizza is to order on the phone, pick it up and enjoy it at home... read more

My hubs loved his slice of the roasted red pepper etc., and I really enjoyed my gluten-free pepperoni. Spot-on and love the GF options. Great location close to Harvard if you're visiting or just want to hop off the red line. read more

The tomatoes! Oh man, the tomatoes! Best tomatoes and sauce on a pizza, ever. Sweet and intense. No idea how they do it. They're no slouches with the cheeses either. Ricotta is always delicious on a pizza, and their ricotta + basil doesn't disappoint. Best bet is to call in an order for a whole pie and pick it up. Much better selection if you order off the menu-- if you stop in for a slice, you'll be limited to whatever 8 pizzas they happen to have. They are a little weak on the drinks selection (some pelegrino and a few other choices like orange soda). All the more reason to get it to go. read more

If you are going to have a cheat meal or carb-out, you might as well go balls to the wall and get a pizza with cheese tortellini on it! Enter Otto... Otto is pretty easy to miss if you are driving by. It's on your left right after Bank of America and right before The Body Shop if you're going up Mass Ave through Harvard Square. There is a Green sign that has Otto Pizza written on it somewhat small. The inside is very small. It's setup for takeout, or if you just come in for one slice, you may be able to get one of the 3-4 seats along a small eating rail. That's it. They do not deliver, and there is no immediate street parking, as the cab stands are right in front, so your best bet is to pull onto Church Street (just after it on the left) put your hazards on and run in. The guys that work there are nice, very personable. Now for the important part...the pizza...so so SO good! I'm a big fan of thin crust pizza. Otto's is not thick and doughy to fill u up on the bread. Instead, they fill you up with all the unique toppings. There are just way too many to pick a favorite, as they are all so different...definitely not your average pizza joint...here's the full list (large price/small price): 1 Cheese ($15/$9) 2 Pepperoni ($17/$10) 3 Sausage and Vidalia Onion ($19/$11) 4 Three-Cheese Tortellini ($17/$10) 5 Ricotta and Basil ($19/$10) 6 Mashed Potato, Bacon and Scallion ($21/$12) 7 Mushroom and Cauliflower ($19/$11) 8 Margherita ($19/$11) 9 Butternut Squash, Ricotta and Cranberry ($21/$12) 10 Chicken and Basil ($19/$11) 11 Otto Four Cheese ($21/$12) 12 White Bean, Sausage, Herb & Red Flake ($21/$11) 13 Pulled Pork and Mango ($19/$11) 14 White Bean, Roasted Tomato, Herb, Red Flake ($21/$12) 15 Eggplant, Ricotta and Basil ($21/$12) 16 Roasted Tomato, Ricotta and Basil ($21/$12) 17 Genoa Salami, Tomato and Scallion ($21/$12) 18 Mushroom, Bacon and Vidalia Onion ($21/$12) 19 Mushroom, Ricotta and Herb ($19/$11) 20 Baby Spinach, Chicken and Asiago ($21/$12) 21 Chicken, Mushroom and Fontina ($21/$12) 22 Apple, Bacon and Red Onion ($21/$12) 23 Spicy Pulled Pork with Scallion and Herb ($19/$11) 24 Zucchini, Summer Squash, Spinach ($21/$12) Are you not starving after reading this list??? Go there immediately!! And if you can't decide, you can do as I do and get half of one combo and half of another. They will charge you for whichever is the more expensive combo. Or, just slip into a pizza coma...get 8 different single slices, as they have rotate 8 different pies that they sell off by the slice. My only gripe is that they do not have whole wheat crust, so for a takeout pizza place I give them 4.5 stars! Much love to Otto! read more

The pizza here is decent, but the service is conistently bad, and every couple of months I give it another chance and regret it. As far as I know, to order a slice, I stand in line, give the cashier my order, pay for it, get my slice, and leave. But not here. The other night I ordered one slice and stood aside to wait for it to get get warmed up. But then a young lady working the oven asked me what I was waiting for, then scolded me and said "well, I don't have it." Then I had to explain to her three times that I already ordered it when she kept telling me to go order, then walked away. The cashier watched the entire exchange and didn't say anything, then finally grabbed a slice and warmed it up himself and gave it to me. I've worked in the service industry myself, and miscommunications do happen, but never, ever is it the customers fault when your coworker makes a mistake. read more

Small niche business with dedicated staff. Great thin crust pizza, dozens of creative varieties with about 10 available at any given time by the slice, or you can order a whole pie. At the location in Harvard Square, there are about 10-12 pizzas to select from if you just want a slice or two. Pick a piece and they heat it up (doesn't taste like reheated pizza). Great thin crust. There is a simple caveat: If you are ordering slices, you must order slices from the pizzas already made and on display. They are fresh and constantly being rotated with new pies being put out. You CANNOT order a slice of pizza that is not already cooked and ready to be served; i.e. they will not make a fresh new pizza just for you and sell you a slice. What you see is what is available! (Fine by me). Recently visited and experienced a true appreciation for the staff here. Jeff (long brown beard) was serving up slices and demonstrated incredible patience in dealing with a guest who could not seem to comprehend the fact that her selection of slices was limited to what she could see in front of her. She kept constantly, and I mean CONSTANTLY, looking at the menu (which lists the dozens of pizzas in the slice rotation or available whole) and picking slices of pizza that were NOT ready to be served by the slice. The guest was ordering 7 slices of various varieties (for friends?) and kept asking for slices that were not available. The line was baffled at her ignorance. This went on for a few minutes. She may or may not have been associated with a nearby university. Despite this guests' blind ignorance or deafness, Jeff did an incredible job in maintaining his patience, repeating what pizzas were available by slice, and demonstrating solid customer service. Jeff avoided sarcasm and didn't lose his cool. He did a good enough job that it's worth mentioning here. I, on the other hand, had to let out a sigh or two while waiting. However, given the quality of the pizzas here, it is always worth the wait. read more

Note to the owners: Quality Control. Please train your employees on what each pizza should look like; how much of each ingredient should go on them. Do not skimp on essential ingredients. Also too, if it's *very* burned, don't charge your customers or offer to bake up another one. My review: This place is hit or miss. I had the best pizza there and that's why I recommended it for my sister on her birthday. We ordered three pizzas for her party. Well, I soon realized that it definitely depends on who makes the pizza. She ordered the same kind I had had previously (the one with the ricotta and basil--which I told her was perfection). Well that particular night (picked up the pizzas on March 14th around 7pm or 8pm in the evening), hers was very burnt, not edible really. She said it tasted like charcoal. I checked it out and the basil on it looked only like lightly sprinkled tiny bits of dried oregano (the one I had had a few days before, had lots of large pieces of basil and it really added to the flavor, as it should!). My thoughts were that they were either running out of basil or that the person making the pizza just had no clue. *Either way, owners please take note. I really felt bad because I was raving about this place and recommended it. Too bad, on her birthday especially, that she got the burnt one. Very disappointing. I may try it again. I'm not sure. I just can't believe that they'd let us pay and walk out the door with a pizza that was so burned and had no topping on it. read more

Prices may seem high for a slice, but the slices are big and the toppings/combinations are delicious!
