Turkey Sandwich with bacon jam
John H.

Don't let their pizzas distract you because their Turkey Sandwich with bacon jam is money. They give you thick Smokey Turkey slices, no thin deli nonsense here. Loads of bacon with a sweet jam. I could eat that all day. So so good. The bread could barely hold it all together but I didn't care about the mess because I couldn't stop stuffing my face. The sandwich is pretty big so no worries about going hungry for lunch. Wish it came with chips but oh well.

If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worst pizza I've ever had. My boyfriend and I ordered a small pepperoni pizza and small white pizza which was as like $50. As pictured, there is no cheese on my pepperoni pizza - just sauce and pepperoni. Their red sauce is super biter and to be blunt, just gross. Not only was the flavor totally terrible, but it was soggy, floppy, and greasy. The crust is chewy and tasteless. This isn't a place I would try again.

The pizza is the bomb! Located on F Street in South Boston, this is place has the best pizza in Southie. Thin & cooked to perfection. We had the mashed potato pizza with bacon & chives. So tasty. Don't knock it until you try it. Otto originated in Portland, ME. A friend told us that we needed to try this particular pizza. Although it's hard to imagine potato on pizza, it was incredible! Very quaint pizza parlor. Tim, our server was top notch. Very reasonably priced. Off Street parking is available. Very clean. A must try.

We've ordered from Otto south Boston in the past but never again. We ordered a large pepperoni and it was BEYOND thin crust. Like too thin--like they ran out of dough and was trying to make it last for all the orders tonight. It tasted like eating paper thin cardboard. Super disappointing and their pizza isn't cheap. Cheese also tasted a bit weird. They also sliced it so bizarrely, some huge slices and some super small slices. All around disappointing. That being said we ate it all because we were starving and you can't exactly return pizza--especially after you already made it back home. Lost a neighborhood customer.

UPDATE to my Prior Review: One of the reps high-up at Otto reached out to me after being made aware of the poor experience I had by the social media team. He apologized profusely for the poor experience, the delay in making it right, and owned up to the poor experience. He ensured that the salad was refunded to me and was incredibly helpful and apologetic, as my poor experience isn't the typical experience they want a customer to have. It's rare to find companies that will own up to a poor experience and/or mistake. I applaud the team at Otto for making it right. I genuinely appreciate it and it goes a very long way for me. I do hope this location in particular improves the quality of the food and pays better attention going forward. I would consider giving it another shot in the future. Everyone deserves a second chance in life.

Large Buffalo Cauliflower, Scallion & Blue Cheese but with chicken I didn't ask for.

Was craving pizza and as a vegetarian, Otto has a great buffalo cauliflower pizza. So I decided to place a pick up order, I live about 20 minutes from this establishment. My husband and I drove down to pick up the pizza, upon arrival back home we opened the box and before we could realize that it wasn't cauliflower but a whole pizza filled with chicken we both took a bite! Immediately I call the establishment and told them what happened, I was put on hold to see what they could do about the situation. The young man came back on the phone and proceeded to tell me I had to wait until tomorrow and speak to the head manger to see if I would be able to get a refund. I told him that the mistake happened today, so why should I have to call tomorrow to see if I could get a refund. The customer service is 0-10. Only when I complained further and said this situation should be dealt with tonight, I was offered to be made another pizza once I brought back the pizza that was made in error. Never again!

Pizza slice. Nasty

The most greasy, tasteless mess of a pepperoni pizza I have had in my entire life. Totally gross.

Look how thin. I don't even know how you make it that thin. It's awful. I'm all for a thin crust but not when it's see through and burnt

Awful - the pizza is 30 dollars and you 0 dough or sauce. They added a new double dough option because they are skimping on the dough which is absurd. They burn the pizza half the time and it's never ready on time

We arrived at our hotel starving and ordered Uber Eats from OTTO and OMFG soooo good. I ordered vegan cheese and GF options and I was so happy. I cannot praise it enough. I got the Buffalo cauliflower small veggie pizza and my husband got the sriracha chicken and avocado. We loved it'

Salad was made 5 days prior to order!

I decided to go with the Wicked Pesto Pizza. It came with the signature crust, pesto base, grilled chicken, blue cheese, asiago, and fresh garlic. The driver dropped it off in front of the building and I picked it up. After first trying it, I was not impressed. It was very hard and dry. I had to reheat it in the microwave for it to be edible. I was expecting a delicious pizza packed with flavor. Instead I got something that I had to force myself to eat. I know Boston is not known for their pizza but I was expecting something halfway decent. If it was not for the Uber Eats discount I would have been upset with spending the cash. Next time I will try to check out some other spots for a slice of pizza.

It is easy to stop in, order, and get on your way. There are plenty of tables inside and a decent number outside if you want to sit and enjoy your meal. The location is hard to beat. Just a few blocks from Boston Common and the Public Garden, it is a perfect stop for a casual lunch or snack. This is my go-to spot when I want a quick, high-quality slice in the area.

Salty Pig Pizza: A pizza with the same name as the restaurant! Who was the genius who came up with the idea of salted pig and beer caramel? It's brilliant! The salted pork appears to include Prosciutto di Parma from Langirano, Prosciutto Cotto, and Salcissia. Baking rendered the prosciutto's fat, which blends with the caramel to create a beautiful golden syrup that flows across the pizza's surface. The prosciutto was savory, oily, and tender; the minced salcissia retains its coarse texture and rich meaty aroma; the caramel was sweet and mellow with a honey-like sweetness, forming the top, middle, and base notes respectively. The arugula was slightly warmed, losing its astringent and raw taste while maintaining its crisp texture, helped to cut through the richness together with the Parmesan cheese powder. The crust was crispy, while the inside the dough was soft and chewy. The cooking time and seasoning were all just right, and the restaurant's proud wooden oven added a charming smoky flavor. Affogato: I had high expectations, but it was just okay. The espresso was too sour, and the vanilla ice cream couldn't balance it out. The almond biscuits had an overpowering almond flavor, and the flavor of plant-based protein was terrible! (Oh, this should have been a plus...)

We had the meat lover's pie and oh my. Wgat a delicious fusion animals, cheese, tomatoes and crust. The taste took me back to a pizza I had many years ago at a place in Cambridge--in a great way! They only sell whole pies, which at first seemed annoying (the first time I tried coming here a few years ago I was by myself and couldn't eat a whole pizza alone) so I had to make this my inaugural tasting). But I see that as ensuring you are only eating a fresh product, where all the ingredients cook into each other and come out hot and ready, instead or something reheated from four hours ago because the day was slow. The menu is simple: pizzas and meat skewers. They know what they do well and lean into it hard. The ambiance has a rustic feel, with tall, weathered wooden booths that make eating a close experience, so please bring people you really like! The servers are present but not hovering and checked on us with the kind of frequency that says, "yeah we should let you eat but not forget you are there." I will be back for sure.

Pizza was ok, not my kind of pizza, the crust is very thin and cracker like, it doesn't hold up under additional toppings. Flavor of sauce and toppings was good, toppings were also generous. Service was fine, it took the wait staff a little bit to notice we were waiting to be seated. Overall it's worth a try, there's a reason they've been in business over 100 years.
