Never again. Absolute insanity. I had pizza from one of their other locations and it was pretty damn good so I figured I'd order from the South Boston location as it is closest to home. The estimated wait time was about 30 min - no issue there - I purposely arrived about 10 minutes late because I understand how busy a place like this can get, and rather than rushing them I figured I'd give them some extra time. I was initially told my pizzas weren't ready yet - again, I'm patient - no big deal. Perhaps I'm too patient because after another 20 minutes of standing around I spoke up to another employee who very matter of factly told me that he had given my pizzas, inexplicably, to an Uber Eats driver about a half hour prior. I couldn't make sense of it since I had ordered directly, and it wasn't a delivery order. He offered a blank stare and zero explanation, and told me that he would have made them again for me, but they were closing. Naturally I requested a refund but was told I would have to physically come back the next day when the manager was present. What world are we living in here? Fast forward 6 months to tonight - my wife decides to give them another chance. She walks in and orders 2 pizzas. She said it was very busy and was told 30-40 minutes. No big deal, sometimes in life you have to wait. She waited about 50 minutes or so and then asked the gentleman at the counter what the status was in the pizzas... and, you guessed it, my pizza was actually ready and still in the building... but they gave hers to an Uber Eats driver! What... the... f--- ? A 0% success rate. I'd rather eat Celeste pizza knowing an Uber Eats driver isn't going to somehow intercept it. What a disaster. read more

So I went in last night around 1130pm on Friday 2/4/22. The only reason I'm putting in a date and time is so the owner know who worked that day. First of all the pizza was great and the price was reasonable. The lady at the cashier was rude and just giving attitude for no reason. It was almost like I was bothering her for ordering food. First off the pizza is awesome. It is our daughter's favorite. Love the options and monthly specials. Fresh ingredients too unlike other shops. We visit the South Boston, Ma location and the service is ok. Some pay attention to detail as always need to advise on allergies (eggs, peanuts, tree nuts) They have strived to make online ordering easier as in the past it could be cumbersome, so that has gotten better. The rewards program needs to come back for online too! All in all it is our go to pizza spot. read more

Don't do delivery here on their app! We ordered a large pizza and side meatballs through the Otto app. The app said it would take a hour for delivery, which is okay as I understand it's busy. After getting close to a hour we noticed that the app hadn't updated, so I called them to see if my food was in transit and was told that it was on the way - 25 minutes later still no food. I called them again and they said it left and I should be getting soon so I went downstairs and the delivery person left it on my front steps, no call or anything from the delivery person. The pizza was super cold and not the correct size, I called them again and was told they have a new cook and they apologized saying that a manager would follow up the next day. It's been multiple days and I haven't heard anything even after a called a day later to speak to a manager. It ended up costing close to 40 dollars for a small cold pizza and cold meatballs. read more

This location has taken a dive. Used to come here all the time. Too many garbage experiences. 3 of the pizza styles are listed. 3 were not. I asked the hooded guy who couldn't say hi what the monthly special was. His answer, as he turned his back on me "whisper whisper whisper", I said I couldn't hear a word he said, he turns around with a blank stare, then says "I don't know, but it has onions on it I think". I ordered a different style, he grabs it and puts it in the pizza oven which had an old slice just charred to death, he took it out and dropped it on the counter. Mine was in for maybe 10 seconds, took it out, put the smallest slice I have ever seen at Otto in my to go box. Rings me up, gives me a dirty look when I don't tip. This location is nowhere near up to snuff compared to the original. Ordered delivery, which was somewhat prompt for a Saturday night, but somehow the pizza was stone-cold. Therefore it was quite hard to enjoy. I've only had slices from the original shop up in Maine, so I was also surprised at how small the large pie was. I can understand the premium on a gourmet pizza, given the supposed quality of the products, but the sizing is way off for the price. And since it came to me at room temperature, I had a hard time tasting the quality. read more

Tried the Good to Go app today and got a surprise bag from Otto. What a great cheap way to try a new place and reduce waste. The pizza is delicious. I would definitely go back to Otto for a full price order. My boss made an enormous pizza haul from ottos I'm southie earlier this week. The buffalo chicken and avocado pizza was super spicy and the ago was a nice touch to mellow that out a bit. Pepperoni, margherita and the cheese pizza are always solid. Now there's a matter of the bacon/scallion and mashed potato pizza... YUM. I went to college near OTTO pizza and it was my favorite pizza place. I was very excited for it to be open in Southie and being able to get a good different style of pizza. I have ordered from caviar at 7 Pm for a pizza delivery, and have have waited for over an hour for it. I understand that they are slammed, so no problems. However, I called again at 9 pm to check on a pizza and person was very rude to me and just told me it should have been delivered. By 10 pm (4 hours later) OTTO delivered stone cold pizza. The pizza is actually delicious! Their service is TERRIBLE!!! They use GrubHub for delivery. The wrong pizza was made. First I couldn't even get through to the correct location (South Boston). Then when I spoke with someone for delivering a cheese pizza (when we ordered a custom pizza with different toppings), first the manager told me he had to take another phone order and would call me back. Then when he did call me back, he didn't rectify the situation and blamed GrubHub. Also, the pizza showed up 15 minutes late and cold. Shame on GrubHub too. In fairness to the folks at Otto I was finally contacted by management, apparently they take their YELP criticism very seriously.I'm happy about that because that tells me they take their business and reputation seriously as well. I had a very good no excuses we screwed up a few times conversation with Sean the COO, who was very professional. I was happy to hear that they care about the people in the neighborhood and hope to work past the initial operational issues that I experienced. I was in Maine in early May and drove over to the Saco location to try the pizza. As a reminder the pizza I ordered in Southie never made it to the oven after almost two hours of having called in an order. I had a seamless no contact experience and everything went smoothly. I can why they have such a loyal following, it was a very fresh tasting, light pizza with crispy crust. I'll give the Southie location another shot and next time I'll use their app as I did in Maine. No need to force them to take a haircut with a third party and I'm admittedly gun shy about calling in an order given my previous experience. I'm happy to embrace the technology. read more

So last night a tiny, little, angry man spent all of $60 on 4 pizzas and they took a little long and the way he treated the staff was embarrassing. Yelling, screaming like a child. The staff was SLAMMED. Mobile orders, walk ins, slices, phone ringing - absolutely slammed! The staff tried their best with this angry little man, better than I would've done. Offered gift cards and apologies and he was just a little angry man. I feel bad for this little mans family the way he treats other people is pathetic. Maybe someday he will grow up to be big and tall and respectful! Anyway - the staff could figure out things a little faster but I don't think they were ready for the massive amounts of customers week 1. Can't blame everyone the pizza was awesome!!
