WOW WOW WOW Finally had an opportunity to experience Osteria and it didn't disappoint at all. From entering the restaurant the staff was amazing and friendly. We had a short wait when we arrived to eventually be seated 5 minutes later. Once seated our waitress was extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu and how to pair everything with drinks on the menu. Taylor was amazing I hope if we go back we get her she knew everything. Inside is a very intimate feel, making things feel like you are in a small part of Italy. From the music to the hanging spices and peppers, everything sets the stage for the amazing food. I can almost guarantee anything you order off the menu will be amazing. Everything is prepared fresh from the hand churned butter for rolls to the pasta noodles and spices they use to cook them in. Amazing amazing amazing man the food was so good it's impossible to put in words. EAT HERE it's worth it, the prices are great, and the food is amazing.

Amazing dining experience. No notes. Bree was amazing. If you're curious about something, just get it.. and don't skip the focaccia.

This is a true five star dining experience on its own scale! On first arrival, you see the cutest garden right behind the restaurant. There's a decent amount of parking. The restaurant itself is a home converted to a restaurant. The dining room is incredibly intimate. You'll feel like you're eating in a family member's home. It probably seats about 24 people or so, small space. The food itself was spectacular. We tried the warm olives, bread with fresh churned butter, squash blossoms, chicken liver pate, gnocchi, wagyu special, chocolate budino, and lemon-poppy seed bombolini. I loved everything, but the squash blossoms were my favorite. They were stuffed and creamy. I took the "pane" bread and churned butter home and ate it for days. Elsa is the best! She helped us every step of the way and every recommendation she made was perfect. This is a good seasonal restaurant so I'm already planning a Fall return.

Nice Ambiance, Fresh Ingredients--But Lacking a Wow Factor We had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for quite some time, and finally scored a reservation for a double date. We went with friends who are Italian, and between the four of us, we ordered nearly everything on the menu--except the risotto, due to an allergy. The overall vibe of the restaurant is lovely: it's small, cozy, and charming, with a beautiful little garden in the back where they grow many of their own ingredients. Everything is made from scratch daily, and you can tell they really care about freshness and quality. Major points for that. That said, the food itself was just okay. Everything was prepared well--pastas were cooked properly, sauces were balanced--but nothing really stood out. There was no "wow" dish that made us feel like we were having a truly memorable meal. It was all... fine. Not bad by any means, just not exceptional. The wine list was also underwhelming, which was disappointing for a place that clearly puts effort into their concept. Would I go back? Probably not, especially given how hard it was to get a reservation. It's a cute spot and a nice experience for a date night, but for us, it didn't live up to the hype.

Excellent food and service. The focaccia was amazing. Sidney was outstanding and helped my wife work through menu options that would work for her. Both of our main dishes were very good and the cannoli was the best we've ever experienced.

While it took forever to get in to this local gem, it was well worth the wait. Our server was lovely. She had great recommendations and was able to break down exactly what each dish was. We SPLURGED! Since we didn't know if we would be able to come back we kind of got a little bit of everything! Starters, Fjord Trout Crudo, peppadew peppers, suppli al telefono, polenta croccahte, pesto modenese Entrees, nettle strettine, sorpresine al ragu, bucatini all'amatriciana Desert, olive oil cake, gelatin flight

Finally was able to try the famous Osteria Il Muro!! It was everything expected and more!! We were a little early so they suggested we have a drink while we wait! They recommended a few wines and they were all amazing! Once we were seated we ordered the focaccia bread and olives! We then ordered a salad and our entrée. We couldn't leave without trying the desserts and everything was outstanding!

I now understand why this is one of the toughest tickets to get in DFW. My wife and I were fortunate enough to dine here this evening. While there are many words that could be used to describe Osteria Il Muro, the word that comes to mind for me is: thoughtful. Our Server was one of the kindest gentlemen I have ever had the experience of having a restaurant. As it was our first time dining here, he was personable and patient and took the time to go through the menu. Since my wife is pregnant there are things she has to watch out for and even went so far as to change out certain items to ensure they were pasteurized. The establishment itself has beautiful decor and as many are already aware sits within a former home. I privately laughed to myself because I remember going to a college party 20 years ago at a home a few houses down. We sat near the pasta station and it was so interesting to see the tools that were used earlier in the day to make the food we got to enjoy. The food was absolutely phenomenal, the baby lettuce was one of the best salads I have ever enjoyed and the olive oil used for the salad dressing was superb. As for the main courses, the ragu that I ordered was phenomenal. But I have to say that the vegetarian pastas we ordered stole the show. Nothing was "too heavy" and was light and enjoyable. As for desert, I have to say the vanilla bean semifreddo was one of the best I've had. Very few places take the time to give Pears the love they deserve and Muro outdid themselves with such a fantastic desert.

One of the most quaint and original Italian restaurants I've ever been to. The atmosphere when you arrive is walking into a small house that has been transformed into a classic Italian cafe of maybe 7-8 tables inside with 3 small patio tables. The staff were polite and well informed on the menu. We asked recommendations which our server gladly gave her favorites honestly. The starter bread and butter, which everything in house is homemade or grown in their personal garden, was amazing!! Just be aware that everything is carb overload. I wish I had gotten the starter salad rather than the crocchettes, plus the chicken liver mousse, and the quail and foie gras sausage, but for a first timer, totally worth it, but left my stomach pretty full by the time a had my main entree of 3 cheese ravioli, and my partner had rabbit and prosciutto agnolotti. So no dessert but they boxed everything to go. Wonderful experience and would love to go again.

Fabulous! It was a dining experience! Our server was amazing and was very patient with us explaining all the deliciousness! Intimate surroundings that make it like home! Scratch made different dishes that are so yummy- from Appe's, mains to Desserts!!! Get in a reservation if you can!!

All I can say is WOW! Truly a 5-star dining experience. The staff explained all the dishes we tried and accommodated my food allergies. Every dish was mind-blowingly good, but the true stars of the show were the focaccia bread and bucatini. The dessert gelati included a pumpkin biscoff flavor that I'm so bummed I can't purchase. Worth the drive to Denton! While reservations are tough to get, I plan on try again soon.

Osteria Il Muro is one of Denton's gems. Housed in a cozy little home with a garden out back that supplies herbs and veggies, it feels more like a dinner party than a restaurant. Monthly Reservations are gone in five minutes, and there are only two seatings. I recommend the 7:00 pm--at 5:30 you might feel the need to finish up when the next guests arrive. The experience and food? Memorable. The focaccia with cultured butter is addictive, the chicken liver mousse is rich and fabulous, and the oysters are fresh and bright. Entrées like pasta, short ribs, and pork chops have all been standouts. The wine list is well-priced and offers value. The menu changes often, so favorites may vanish, but that's part of the charm--it pushes you to try something new. We've been four times in a year and loved every meal.

Yes, this place is difficult to get a reservation at, but no it's not impossible (just have to time the app right!) It's well worth the effort, trust me. We had a party of 4 who was able to secure a table inside the restaurant (house) and we were not disappointed. The waitress was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable about their current offerings. I've added photos of the menu, but note that it frequently changes. Like, I had a coworker who went 2 weeks prior, and only 2 of the items they ordered were on the menu we had. They were out of the wine I originally ordered, but it turned out to be fate because it turns out I probably wouldn't have liked it anyways based on the waitress's description. The focaccia is a MUST ORDER item. I almost ordered a second serving. And the butter is made in house. We also got the squash blossoms (phenomenal), the salumi plate (meats also made in house, and so good), the peppadew peppers (I would've ordered these on their own), and their version of a ceasar salad (kind of standard). Both of the guys ordered the Tagliatelle al ragu, made with wagyu and aged parmesan - it was TO DIE FOR, cooked perfectly, and seasoned just right. I ordered the Tortelli ai tre formaggi and loved it (but I'm biased towards anything with truffles). My bff ordered the Strozzapreti and said it was good, but I think she missed out on the full experience (she's also not a foodie, so take that with a grain of salt). Dessert was their Bombolini which were perfectly small fried donut-like items and an excellent way to round out our meal. Highly recommend ordering these as well, even if you're not a big "sweets" person. Overall, highly recommend if you're willing to make the trek to Denton and can secure a reservation. For us it was worth the drive/experience. Plus it's walking distance off the main square where you'll find lots of other shops/bars.

To be clear, I celebrate the Denton fusion; it's one of my fave things about gems like Picone & Komodo Loco- the cuisine cannot be found anywhere else. Picone's chicken cutlets = mind blowing. The Piccata is my fave, but you really can't go wrong with any of their chicken parms. Their menu is fairly simple - no Cheesecake Factory novel to read. Check their website because they change their menu frequently. I love that they do this. Many things are staples but I've never been mad for choosing something new. Besides piccata, my partner likes the smash burger. I love the burnt carrots. Their focaccia pizza was outstanding. We like the potatoes and the Cesar salad, but they're outshined by the rest of the menu so we rarely get them. My recommendation: get a chicken parm of your choosing & one of their specials. Then share with one of your peeps. (The cutlets are the size of your head). Now let's talk staff and service. I have never ever had bad service there & have thoroughly enjoyed all interactions with staff. I feel like everyone really likes being there & cares about what they do. Go in with joy and joy will be returned to you. Ambiance: You order at the counter when you walk in. They'll give you a number and you sit wherever. It's super-casual, kinda small-ish hole-in-the-wall in the best way. It's always been doing a brisk business when we've gone. Be aware that the back room can get loud because of acoustics so keep that in mind if you're sensitive to it. There is limited onsite parking, but ton of street parking all around. I think that covers it. :) Enjoy!!

People seemed to love Picone, so we went! Interesting place. Small and casual. There is a counter at the front, and on the counter is a board which shows the menu. We were told we could take a picture of the menu with our phones, sit down and peruse it, or just go ahead and order. We ordered, were given a number card to place on our table, and the food was brought to us. MIL and I got the chicken parm, and SIL got the chicken piccata. SIL and I thought our meals were delicious. MIL said her chicken was overcooked and she didn't enjoy it. (She also didn't like that there were no printed menus, but she's 87 and likes things how she likes them.) The chicken parm comes with "Sunday Sauce," which they told me is marinara. To me, it was spicier than marinara, and I really liked it. The portions were very large, and I took most of my food home with me. I didn't notice if they offered desserts or not. In Boston we have great Italian food, and I hadn't found that in Denton - until now. This was surprisingly good food and I would definitely return.
