On our table were our plates & place settings, glasses, and pizza stand. These items are communal and self-serve. Beware if you're a germaphobe. 1/2 Star. Service - Our server was excellent. Our party of 4 had two guests arriving later, but he made sure we had bread on our table and brought out water. Once everyone arrived, we put in our order, and the dishes began to arrive as they were made. And as dirty plates piled up, other staff members jumped in to help out. Thanks, team! 1 Star. Food - Unfortunately, Quartino Ristorante didn't hit the spot for me. Starting with the table bread, the Italian bread was very tough. It was like eating bread that had been sitting out. I was hoping for hot, freshly sliced bread. Good thing there was plenty of Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar on the table, because I needed it to chew the bread. I found out the pizza oven was gas, not wood fired, so I opted for a trio of small plates: bruschetta, caprese salad, and eggplant parmesan. If you like tart tomatoes, you'll like Quartino Ristorante. I like my tomatoes milder (San Marza). While the bruschetta tomatoes were great, the bread they sat on had the same trait as the table bread. Finally, my eggplant was more mozzarella and tomato sauce then eggplant. 1/2 Star. After three visits since the start of the year, Quartino Ristorante has officially on my list of favorite Italian restaurants. The consistency of the food and the warmth of the hospitality makes it a standout. They offer a fantastic range of pizzas and pastas, but the real stars are the specialty dishes Shrimp Risotto. After finding the truffle risotto a bit too mild on our first visit, the shrimp risotto was a surprise. It perfectly captured the essence of the risotto I enjoyed in Venice. I added a bit of Calabrian Chiles for an extra kick, which elevated the dish to another level. Also tried the Cheese Fondue came with bread straight from the oven, fresh, soft, and warm--making it the perfect appetiser to start pairing with a glass of wine. We tried pasta with Clams as well. The hubs and I came on Saturday evening for a date night. I recommend getting a reservation (super easy online) because it was very busy but we got seated quickly. Our server was really friendly and explained the concept and menu. We decided to share a lot of the items as it's designed to do so if you choose to. I love that you can order just a few things off the charcuterie menu instead of getting a whole board. We started with cocktails and the bread with olive oil. We then tried a few charcuterie items (the duck prosciutto was to die for), the veal meatballs, the meatball slider, and finished with the Coppa Alla Banana. One of my favorite pizza restaurants near me with the best happy hour! I also recommend to join their wine subscription because not only is the price good and you can opt to skip certain months but you get to drink it there at the restaurant too. If you were wanting to buy wine for your table anyways, its cheaper and a more fun experience to try different wines through joining! The pizza is very good and my favorites are the mushroom fungi pizza, and the san Danielle ( but sub the tomato sauce to the white sauce used in the fungi pizza- the tomato sauce is fine but its a light tomato base rather than a thick marinaria one and sometimes it makes the pizza a little too wet) . The employees are always so accommodating and friendly and I always have a good time. Its the perfect date spot, the family dinner, birthday, etc. They event have event rooms of all sizes that you can reserve and do their food packages! Joined some friends here for a Saturday night dinner and really enjoyed myself. The free valet parking (if you get the host to validate before leaving) is absolutely worth it in the busy area. The place was absolutely packed and the tables were very close together so volume affected the vibes a little bit but not enough to make the experience bad. The employees all seemed to work together as a team and seemed very kind and polite. The bread service was a great starter to the meal and was replenished when we ran out. I ordered some olives to start and absolutely loved the selection (be mindful of the pits). The tortellini was maybe some of the best I've had in the metro. Full of flavor and very creamy! The veal meatball slider was ok and needed more seasoning and the pickled veggies were much too salty. The pizza's crust was hard and difficult to chew. The flavor was OK, but it was a pretty oily pizza. The Park deli pasta was perfectly al dente and was flavorful. The spaghetti was surprisingly tasty as well, but the one single meatball was small and I wish we had been told how small one meatball was on top of the spaghetti so that we could have ordered more. We got the dessert that had ice cream, whipped cream, strawberries, and a biscotti on top. The ice cream was quality, and the berries were fresh. The dishes is where everything is shareable so be cautious not to over order as we did. We ordered pizza half margarita / half campania, hot quattro formaggi/half pepperoni, white bean garlic dip, two bruschette, salads were caesar, quartino salumi, tuscan sausage risotto, tortellini, spaghetti al pomodoro, shrimp diavolo with angel hair pasta, two roasted asparagus, two broccolini, and a chicken parmigiana. As you can imagine we had way too much food. But I was a fan of the salumi salad, pepperoni pizza and the shrimp diavolo. I also ordered an Italian 75 which was ok. The Neapolitan pizza had good flavor and a good crust. We decided on dessert. We were lucky to get a cannoli which isn't on the menu. I had to get it because getting a good cannoli in Texas isn't easy. It was very tasty (mind you I'm not an expert). We had a reservation for 10 people at 8:30 on a Saturday night to celebrate my friend's birthday. I joined my friends just a few minutes after the reservation time, no later than 8:35, and we had not seen the server for 20 minutes since we sat down. The girls said he dropped off bread when they sat down, said he'd be right with them, but had yet to come back. I got up to speak with a manager, and of course once the server saw me heading to the host stand is when he decided to go to our table. We ordered drinks and he informed us that the bartender was backed up with drinks and they would take some time. At first I appreciated the communication, except by backed up he meant they would take 50 minutes, come out a few drinks at a time, and some drinks would be forgotten. Some of the girls ordered sodas when they first sat down and didn't get them until an hour later. At the restaurant we work at, when we say drinks might take a minute, we mean 20 minutes max and even that's unacceptable, 50 minutes is just ridiculous. We also ordered food when we ordered that first round of drinks, some of the girls ordered their entrees immediately because everything was taking forever, and some of us ordered appetizers and salads, expecting him to come back so we could order more and he never did. The server NEVER came to the table to see how we were doing, never asked how everything was tasting, never pre-bussed the table, nothing. At this point we've got girls ready to pay and leave, we need to-go boxes, half of us never even ordered dinner because he never came back to the table. I got up AGAIN to grab a manager, this time I spoke with Adrian, and after I told him about our experience and everything we needed, he asked me, "what would you like me to do for you in this moment?". I just told you all of these unacceptable things and as a manager, YOU should know what to do and how to fix it, I shouldn't have to tell you how to do your job or how to fix the situation, coming from a server AND a manager by the way. Adrian did end up bringing us the drinks we were missing from our first and only order through the server, he brought some boxes, and pre-bussed the table (the server never did), but still I'm looking around and NO ONE is moving with a sense of urgency in this place. Not just our server, but every single server on the floor, every manager on duty, like no one has a care in the world. Also, I saw a THIRD manager on duty and I just thought how could any of them allow this unacceptable service to be happening, and we weren't the only table receiving slow and poor service. It honestly looked like majority of the tables around us were displeased with this place. For the price of this place, I would not recommend a singular person to come here. It was just awful and honestly the worst experience I've ever had dining at a restaurant. And I feel even worse for the birthday girl because she felt like it was her fault for bringing us here and having to experience this. I don't know how this place has good reviews or how it's decently rated on Yelp and Google, honestly don't even know how it's staying in business because it was that horrible. read more

The ambiance felt very European but the tables were quite small and could hardly accommodate our food. We started with the salad and even though it was a half order, the portion size is quite large. We met up with old friends from Chicago at Quartino on a Friday night, and for a moment, it felt like we were right back home. Since it's part of the Gibson's Restaurant Group, the vibe here oozes old-school Chicago charm. Walking in, it felt like we had stepped onto Taylor Street into a classic Italian joint--warm, inviting, and buzzing with energy. The service was spot-on from start to finish. We kicked things off with the Wild Arugula Salad--fresh orange segments, creamy house-made ricotta, hazelnuts, lemon, and EVOO. Bright, balanced, and just plain delicious. For mains, I went with the Spaghetti al Pomodoro--simple, fresh, and full of flavor. My wife had the Tagliata di Manzo (sliced Gibson's grass-fed Australian strip steak with broccolini), and let me tell you, it was cooked to medium-rare perfection. You could immediately tell Gibson's DNA is all over this menu. Our friends had the Tortellini and the Shrimp Risotto--both dishes looked incredible and had them raving at the table. To top it off, we shared a full liter of Chianti that paired perfectly with everything.
