    Darling dining room

This was two weeks ago: Super friendly atmosphere with tree trunks inside to make you feel as if you're dining Al fresco. Our party of 6 sat near the rear of the restaurant where happy young men were laughing and talking in Italian while wrapping up the flatware in napkins. It was comforting. The menu wasn't over complicated and we made our selections quickly. Our delightful server was a prompt and attentive young woman who seemed to be a daughter of the owner or something. We were excited for our food because the place smelled fabulous! THE FRESH, HOT ROLLS!! Oh my goodness. I was in bread Nirvana because those were the most amazing and delicious rolls I have EVER eaten!! I almost wanted to have just a huge plate of just those rolls, but I was looking forward to my order because if these rolls were any example of the rest of the food, I'm gonna start camping right next-door so I can eat here every day. LOL! No other side dishes come with your entrées, which was a little bit of a bummer, because I always love to have a salad with my meals. I also love to sample the in-house made salad dressings, because that really tells me a lot about the chefs. So I ordered a side salad, which was just simple, iceberg lettuce, a tomato slice and a pepperoncini. But the dressing was wonderful. Our orders arrived soon and looked amazing. My shrimp and scallops fettuccine Alfredo smelled heavenly even if the portion size looked a little small. One bite of their obviously housemade Alfredo sauce blew me away and I felt like I was transported back to northern Italy. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente and my shrimp were also perfectly cooked and juicy. The one bad thing was the scallops as they were very tiny, and were hard as cork. That was a major disappointment when everything else was so wonderful. I didn't get a chance to sample the pizza, but my nieces apparently found it to be delightful. I did not wish to make a fuss and send the dish back, but if this happens again, I do encourage patrons to let the staff know. I'd return next time I'm in the area.

Garlic bread! Crispy but fluffy and really airy. Seasoned nicely.

Fera's was a complete touch of authenticity. The space had a very nice ambiance. Service was excellent as we were served by one of the owners herself! Food was delicious with a very home cooked feel. *NOT PICTURED* The stand out performance was the delicious Alfredo sauce that was made in house. Seasoned very nicely with just the perfect amount of salt. Excellent to dip the bread in!

Lately, I've been unable to say no to pasta. One day, while conferencing in Denton (a place where I once lived but was too poor to enjoy restaurant pasta), I decided to try Fera's. I've always known Fera's to be a mainstay in Denton. A place that locals love, and a place that is considered to have a pretty solid menu. On this day I really wanted a pink/ala vodka sauce, and I found just the item on the menu. Let me start from the start, however. Being on Oak, I was initially concerned about parking. At about Noon on the Thursday I arrived, I had no issue get parking next to the building. I can imagine, though, that a very busy dinner could limit parking issues on site. The inside had a older feel, and you walk in almost directly into the host stand. It was a little dark, a little dated, but fairly well kept. When I entered I stood there for a few moments, and then a waitress came and seated me, menu in hand. I found my tortellini ala vodka (I went without chicken) and it was great. The sauce was really balanced and the tortellini weren't too soft. Prior to the meal, the waitress brought out a single roll, and I was never offered another. I cannot be sure if they had a dinner salad available, or even lunch specials, because I was never offered. I couldn't order dessert even if I had wanted to, because the waitress was scarce. Despite this, the food was delicious and the price wasn't bad, either. A big positive for me - the diet coke on the soda fountain was really crisp and well balanced. A true thing of beauty! The single star ding is for the service, which J normally wouldn't subtract for, but the waitress was assuredly related to ownership, and that sort of speaks to the philosophy of the restaurant as a whole in those instances. Overall, I think I would try it again, as the food was worth it, but I don't know if it could easily become a "go-to" spot for a dining experience. Happy eating!

I got the chicken alfredo. Doesnt taste much like chicken alfredo (it's missing a LOT more parmesan and garlic to give it the original alfredo sauce flavor. Doesn't have much flavor at all because of this.) It tastes like butter noodles with a salty flavorless white sauce.

The place is wonderfully designed! I love all the metal artworks and wood pillars. Pretty fast food service and the waiter was quick and efficient. I had the fettuccine Alfredo and it was delicious!

Fettuccini alfredo with homemade pasta and small pepperoni pizza. They were DELICIOUS!!

The food, staff, and place were and always are great!! I have been going here since I was in university and love brining my friends to try!

Ask the Community - Fera's Italian Restaurant

Does this place have a private room for a rehearsal dinner?

No, but we'd be able to organize a majority of the restaurant for the rehearsal dinner.

I've been trying to call the Gainesville location and no pickup. Does anyone know if they are still in business and if they have gluten free offerings on their menu? We could go to Denton too.

They are still in business, I did not see gluten free on the menu but perhaps you can request it!

We made reservations. They probably were not needed for the night we were there, but I could see this place filling up quickly on some nights. The restaurant has a cozy retro vibe with MTV videos playing behind the bar and splashes of color throughout. Our server was super friendly and attentive, and the speed of the service was fantastic! Graffiti Pasta specializes in unique, delicious cocktails. There are no beers on tap (just cans), and my husband would have liked to have Peroni on tap even if that were the only choice. I enjoyed two of their cocktail which were both excellent. Our food was delicious and just the right amount of food. We left the restaurant satisfied without feeling like gluttons. Their stuffed mushrooms with filled with a creamy ricotta, the Banksy's Baked Ziti was delicious, and the homemade spaghetti was a special treat. I loved the build your own pasta options, And OMG at their rolls! SO good! Everything was wonderful and truly made for a great dining experience. The atmosphere is colorful, upbeat, and full of personality, making it just as fun as the food itself. The house-made pasta is absolutely worth the hype. You can taste the difference, and every bowl is fresh, flavorful, and the kind of meal that has you planning your next visit before you've finished this one. Great food, great vibes, and all the carbs your heart could ever want. What's not to love?

Showed up with a need for chicken parm and left with a love for Picone…read more Our 13-year-old requested chicken parm for her birthday dinner. She originally wanted Olive Garden, but I always try to support local when we can, so I suggested Picone... and I'm so glad! We ordered the birria crunch wrap, smash burger with potatoes, chicken parm pesto, and a Caesar salad, and we literally left no crumbs. Every bite tasted intentional. The chicken parm was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with rich, flavorful sauce and melty cheese that didn't overpower the dish. The pesto added a fresh, herby richness that tied everything together beautifully. The birria crunch wrap was packed with bold, slow-cooked flavor, and the crispy tortilla gave way to tender meat and creamy, cheesy goodness. It somehow managed to be comforting and exciting at the same time. The smash burger had that perfect crispy edge with a juicy center, and the potatoes were golden, crispy, and seasoned so well that they disappeared almost as fast as the burger. Even the Caesar salad wasn't an afterthought. It was fresh, crisp, perfectly dressed, and exactly what you want alongside a rich meal. You can tell there's real care behind the food. Nothing felt rushed or phoned in. Every dish had layers of flavor, great textures, and combinations that just worked. It felt like people who genuinely love feeding people made our meal. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. It had just the right amount of local charm that made the kids feel like they had discovered a cool hidden gem. We'll absolutely be back.

I REALLY REALLY wanted to love this place. I did not love this place. But I will give it another…read moreshot at some point, maybe I just hit it on an off day/week. We came here for an early dinner after the show at the planetarium. Seriously get the burnt carrot. It's $10, for 1/2 of a carrot, but no joke, it's worth it. The chicken pesto entree was okay, but they used some other herb besides Basil in the pesto that is just not my jam-- dill maybe?, chervil??-- I dunno, but it threw off the flavor for me. That said, the cutlet underneath was very crispy and all the bites without the pesto were delish!. I have heard raves about the burger, so maybe that is worth another shot?? The service?, not stellar, just bored and unenthusiastic at the counter and s-l-o-w from the kitchen. The carrot came out quickly, but the cutlet took about 30 minutes after that, and the place was nearly empty. And, sorry to mention this part, the bathroom was filthy. I try not to correlate a dirty bathroom with a dirty kitchen, but it's difficult to reconcile.
