Spaghetti with meat sauce
Juli S.

We door dashed so I can't speak to the ambience there. I will say the food was delivered quickly but two items were missing. We received spaghetti and meat sauce and a meatball hoagie. The spaghetti was very salty while lacking other flavors. It was a good sized portion, enough to save for lunch. My daughter had the meatball sub, it was very large and the flavor was good per her report. However, the bread was very soggy so the sandwich fell apart immediately. I doubt we will order from them again.

Charcuterie

We ordered a charcuterie board for my daughter's wedding shower and there was a bit of miscommunication on the time. We needed it a bit earlier than they expected. They went above and beyond to get everything ready and gifted some cannolis and wine to make up for the brief tardiness. They are true artists. The food was excellent. Beautifully prepared. You can tell they take pride in their work, as they should. We are so very appreciative.

Almafi Sandwich
Drew A.

I just got back from Italy and this made me feel like I was right back in Florence. I got the Almafi sandwich and let me tell you -- È stato delizioso. The service is always great, the shop is such a fun little place and the food is truly incredible. Will absolutely be back A LOT in the future. Also the tiramisu was chefs kiss.

The wine selection.

What a cute little taste of Italy in downtown Denton, near campus. I have to start with the service. Everyone is friendly and welcoming and willing to answer questions. There are just a few seats inside and outside to enjoy your food. A nice variety of imported Italian goods and wines to chose from. We ordered from todays special menu. The Buttero panino was sliced strip steak (we prefer ours thinner) aged provolone, pesto, arugula, basalmic, on a ciabatta roll. I loved the freshness of the pesto and arugula with the contrasting basalmic. A very nicely presented sandwich. The Muffuletta sandwich is SO big. I could not bite it. And I, admittedly have a big mouth. Several layers of Italian meats and provolone, with an amazing mix of chopped olives. SO good. It was yummy! I don't need to eat for a week after all this fresh bread. They have their in house made ciabatta pizza called Grandmoms pies. The ciabatta was light and fluffy with the house marinara and Parmesan. I would add some mozzarella next time. The deli case has a mix of fresh salads, meats and cheeses and home made meatballs. The refrigerator section had pizza dough and store made pastas. As well as fresh breads and a small veggie section to round out your Italian meal should you choose to cook at home. Overall, we enjoyed our lunch and will return to try the meatballs and some other Italian fare. The pizza was just ok.

Ordered a pasta bowl for $10 Togo, this is what we got... we could make this ourselves with meat and bigger portion. Also had no utensils.

Good Caprese Sandwich

As a small Italian market with a broad selection of hard-to-find food items and wines and spices and breads, I would give this a solid 4 and a half stars. As a deli for lunch, I would have to rate it a low 3 stars. We were in the area running errands and stopped in for lunch. I ordered the Sausage and Peppers Hoggie and my wife ordered the Caprese Sandwich. I thought both were a bit on the pricy side, but went for it. We then went over to the drink case to get drinks. I got the blood orange and black raspberry San Pellegrino and my wife had A' Siciliana Blood Orange drink. Her drink was $4 more but "less commercial." Not worth the price difference at all. Stick with the brand available just about anywhere, but go for the unique flavor. We also wandered around the store while waiting for out food. Fun to just look at all of the products and different olive oils and balsamic vinegars and other items not usually found around here. Before our next Italian dinner party, this will be our first stop. When the food arrived, both sandwiches were very good size, but not giant. And, for the prices, some chips on the side would have been welcome. My wife described her sandwich as "good" but not anything out of the ordinary. I had selected mine because of the sausage and then the giant sign on the wall saying Homemade Sausage. I found the sausage bland and flavorless and my peppers overcooked. The entire sandwich was absolutely dripping with grease. The sandwich could have used some sauce or condiment offering because it needed it to pump up any flavor. The bread was fresh and excellent. Service was good and friendly, and the restaurant was clean. So, the final conclusion is I would not eat here again, but would shop here again.

Italian grocery

Oh my gods. That an Italian market like this exist in Denton Texas is divine perfection. I used to make a beeline to the Italian deli market in Staten Island every time I went there. This is the closest thing you were ever going to get to a true Italian market here in Texas. They have groceries, authentic Italian food, I drank an Americano that knocked my socks off, The servers are all super friendly and helpful. When asked if I needed any help, I simply responded "I am just so happy to be here." if you love, authentic Italian food, want to try some real espresso, or pick up some Italian groceries this is the place. The atmosphere is so nice and relaxing with Italian music being lightly piped over the air. I just left and I want to go back again to try some of the deli sandwiches and hot menu items. And I will soon!

The Giacomo
Kou L.

Great food, great service, and plenty of italian grocery items to shop from. As you walk in, the counter to the left is where you place your food order and then pay at the other counter. We ordered the chicken Alfredo, the Giacomo (a large sandwich), and butter noodles for my child. They all came out great and fresh. The sandwich was so refreshing, and the pastas were delicious. There were a few tables inside and outside, though it would not be good for a group of 20ppl or more. To the right of the entrance is where they have items like wines, olive oils, pastas, frozen italian ice, and many more items to buy from. Overall, it was a great place. We will be back for sure!

Cannoli of Chocolate Chip

How do you say love in Italian? (Amore) Well in Denton, it's Di Abruzzo's Market. WOW WOW WOW and WOW!! Did I say WOW? They make their food fresh, like EVERYTHING. Their salads, the pasta, the pizza, their cannoli cream, the bread, where does it stop!?!?? This is the kind of food that tastes amazing at first and EVEN BETTER than next day!!! The staff is as amazing as the food too! The environment is in a market with delicious ingredients. Thank y'all, we can NOT wait to return!!!

Caprese with prosciutto
Meree C.

Decided to try this place out with all the hype I hear. Went in and to the right was a grocery section and left was the deli. For me it was a bit confusing where to order since there was a separate cashier stand and deli. The menu isn't the main visual so you have to look around for it. I ordered the caprese with prosciutto also had a small container with antipasto salad. Got some sparkling water as well. A tiny wait for them to make your sandwich but not too bad. Sandwich: overall it was okay not great but not totally bad. Was it worth the money? No. The bread was dry for my liking. I've had my share of caprese sandwiches but this fell short. To each their own though. I did sample their cherry cookie and that was very good. Their antipasto salad was very good I did enjoy that. Overall I don't know if I can come back and risk wasting money on trying another sandwich if what was suggested prior fell short. Customer service: the staff was very friendly.

Chicken Parmesan
Catherine C.

A cute little establishment. Customer service was great. I tried the chicken parm sandwich and didn't think it was particularly exceptional, so this is based solely on that menu item. Since it is a small business it makes sense that prices are a bit higher but the food was average to me. There's a grocery side with a variety of desserts, cheese, snacks, wine, and lots of pasta!

Deli menu 5-12-23

Lago, an Italian company, makes a sugar free wafer cookie that I just love. But they're hard to find. I was hoping this place would have them. No such luck. But it was lunchtime, cause I planned it that way. They are supposed to have a great muffuletta, and I'm going to find out. Glenda ordered the chicken parmigiana and said it was some of the best she had ever tasted. My muffuletta was almost perfection. It tasted absolutely wonderful! My only problem was the bread is very dense. It was very tasty but I like a little lighter, fluffier bread. But still one of the best muffuletta's I've ever had. I'll definitely oreder it again. They also only have bottled tea, no fresh. Yuck. Now, if they only had my cookies! Thanks for a great meal Di Abruzzo!

This olive oil is amazing!

It was really good food, but extremely overpriced! $18.00 for a sandwich... ridiculous! We will not be returning! And, $9 for a cannoli...

Everything is fresh and in abundance. They have these cherry tomatoes called "Flavor Bombs" and are so good and sweet. Plus all the fresh herbs are amazing. Sometimes I shop here just for the produce. You can take a shortcut through the doorway into self-service coffee, nuts, candy and spices or continue to Seafood and Meats. My favorite in seafood is the Lobster in the tank and only when it's a special occasion And in the meat area, I like their pork chops, ground pork, and large hamburger patties. In the middle store I like their olive oils, with so many choices but my favorite is the Central Market Sicilian flavor. Now for the cheese and dairy my go to butter is the La Gall French Butter, so good. We like their fresh baked breads especially the Sour Dough and Naan. The freshness and selection always exceed expectations. Coming from New England, I'm extremely picky about seafood, and this is the only place in the area where I'll buy it. That says a lot about their quality and standards. Crowds can be intense on Saturdays and Sundays, especially around the produce and meat sections. It feels like being packed in with sardines (lol pun), but that's just a sign of how popular the store is. If you prefer a calmer shopping experience, I recommend going on weekdays or in the evenings. The staff is friendly and helpful. Once, while I was debating how a seasonal product might taste, an employee overheard me and offered to open a box so I could sample it. I was honestly surprised to learn that they'll open almost anything for you to try. I declined and bought it anyway, but that level of service really impressed me. I also love how Central Market leans into the seasons. Their themed décor changes throughout the year, adding charm and warmth from the entrance to the back of the store. One Christmas, a violinist was performing near the seafood counter. Shopping for dinner while listening to live holiday music was such a special touch and exactly the kind of experience that makes this place stand out. The only reason I'm deducting a star is for the restrooms near the wine and beer section. On the very rare occasion I've had to use them, they've been filthy and unpleasantly odorous. For a store that takes such pride in presentation and quality, the bathrooms fall short of their otherwise excellent standards. Despite that, Central Market remains one of my favorite grocery destinations; a place that truly elevates the everyday shopping experience.
