I love Central Market. If you're familiar with the H-E-B family of stores, this is the high-end version. H-E-B is more mid-market, Joe V's is the bargain end, and Central Market is the crown jewel. And honestly, shopping here is an experience. Much like IKEA, the store is designed to lead you through the entire place, so you're constantly seeing something else that makes you think, "Oh, I need that." They carry tons of regional specialties, including plenty that aren't even from Texas, plus an impressive selection of prepared foods. The bakery is lovely, and the meat section is downright glorious. We happened to be here at the tail end of Hatch chile season, which is apparently a VERY real thing. Every August, Central Market celebrates with about two weeks of Hatch chile everything. We're talking marinated meats, salsas, chips, cheeses, dips, even cookies. Basically, if they can put a Hatch chile in it, they will. We bought a few things to take home and try later, but we also grabbed an Asian chicken wrap with sweet potato fries from the cafe. Delicious, and easily enough for two people to split. Come hungry, come curious, and give yourself plenty of time. This is not a "run in for milk" kind of grocery store. read more

Honestly, I was surprised Central Market had made-to-order food -- and even more surprised by how good it was. On top of that, it was actually pretty budget-friendly, which made it even better. Service was great, and the ambiance was really pleasant and comfortable. The food felt fresh and healthy, and the whole environment just made the experience easy to enjoy. read more

I have always loved CM & because there was no HEB around me I went there. The foodies & any other worker will help you find anything. I was looking for lemon curd & this kind man helped me find where it was supposed to be, but they were out. So a very nice lady that worked there told me a great substitute. I took my bonus daughter who was visiting and she loved it. Especially the bulk section & the cheese section. read more

How to shop at Central Market? Make a list otherwise it's so easy to pick up so many extras. This review is about my favorites at Central Market. I am here for the produce, mostly! Everything is fresh and in abundance. They have these cherry tomatoes called "Flavor Bombs" and are so good and sweet. Plus all the fresh herbs are amazing. Sometimes I shop here just for the produce. You can take a shortcut through the doorway into self-service coffee, nuts, candy and spices or continue to Seafood and Meats. My favorite in seafood is the Lobster in the tank and only when it's a special occasion And in the meat area, I like their pork chops, ground pork, and large hamburger patties. In the middle store I like their olive oils, with so many choices but my favorite is the Central Market Sicilian flavor. Now for the cheese and dairy my go to butter is the La Gall French Butter, so good. We like their fresh baked breads especially the Sour Dough and Naan. Near Checkout you will beautiful flowers that are fresh with so many choices. Until next visit!!! Shop Central Market! read more

This is my go-to grocery store for just about everything. They consistently have what I need, and the quality of their produce and meat is exceptional. The freshness and selection always exceed expectations. Coming from New England, I'm extremely picky about seafood, and this is the only place in the area where I'll buy it. That says a lot about their quality and standards. Crowds can be intense on Saturdays and Sundays, especially around the produce and meat sections. It feels like being packed in with sardines (lol pun), but that's just a sign of how popular the store is. If you prefer a calmer shopping experience, I recommend going on weekdays or in the evenings. The staff is friendly and helpful. Once, while I was debating how a seasonal product might taste, an employee overheard me and offered to open a box so I could sample it. I was honestly surprised to learn that they'll open almost anything for you to try. I declined and bought it anyway, but that level of service really impressed me. I also love how Central Market leans into the seasons. Their themed décor changes throughout the year, adding charm and warmth from the entrance to the back of the store. One Christmas, a violinist was performing near the seafood counter. Shopping for dinner while listening to live holiday music was such a special touch and exactly the kind of experience that makes this place stand out. The only reason I'm deducting a star is for the restrooms near the wine and beer section. On the very rare occasion I've had to use them, they've been filthy and unpleasantly odorous. For a store that takes such pride in presentation and quality, the bathrooms fall short of their otherwise excellent standards. Despite that, Central Market remains one of my favorite grocery destinations; a place that truly elevates the everyday shopping experience. read more

Everything I've ever had here was great and best of all super affordable for families and I can go grocery shopping after I eat. The kids love coming here to play on the playground too. I believe Tuesdays kids eat free for dinner. Only complaint it was a bit cold outside and the heaters were not working. Suggestion: They should have an order window facing the outside. It gets a bit chaotic inside with all the lunch crowds and moms with kids running everywhere. Maybe install ordering machines. We couldn't find a spot inside. Still had a good lunch today. To call CENTRAL MARKET a "market" is an understatement. This "market" has a food court, a wine bar, a coffee shop, and a deli. Their meat and seafood section are legit! Caviar, anyone? You could VERY easily populate your charcuterie board (or table) with their wall of cheese (great selection!!!), another wall just for the olives (different kinds and flavors), and a whole aisle of crackers. They have a very good variety, from bargain products to "treat-yourself" products. Their produce section is amazing. They have a whole table just for mushrooms -- yey!! Note: you have to weigh your own produce, punch in the produce code, and get the sticker printout to get the price for your produce. They have a large indoor and outdoor eating area. The parking lot is giant and free. The staff are so patient and helpful and friendly -- from the guy at the butcher shop, to the bakery to the cashier to the bagger. read more

Central market has taken over for Sprouts, in my household. I used to be a sprouts girlie, but their prices have gone bananas. They used to be a good place to get reasonable produce but not anymore. However, Central market really has some decent options for produce. Often beating prices on Kroger and Tom Thumb. Also their produce is excellent. Their meat and seafood are excellent though very pricey, but you can find some deals. Like their oysters. $1.50 for east coast oysters is a steal. They also do some banging digital coupons. I love their bulk items like spices and coffee. They are an HEB company and you can still find really good deals on their store brand items like kosher salt and dairy items. I can't do all my shopping here, but I come more and more, there are deals to be found. read more

Central Market has been my favorite grocery store and still is. The prices are a bit higher than other more inexpensive store but the upside is that you can find things here that you can't find in most other grocery stores. Their fruit and vegetable sections are outstanding, I can't think of anything I miss that they don't have. I have never seen any expired or spoiled items. Both the fish and meat sections are excellent. I'm the only one in our family that likes fish so we typically use the meat section. They have great quality meat cuts. They also have lots of variety of pre-seasoned meats and chicken. Their coffee section is also great. They sell Addison Coffee Roasters coffee, white rock coffee and other brands and they have quite the selection if you like good coffee. Their bread/pastry section is also very good, they bake most of their bread so it's fresh. They also have many interesting flavors that you don't typically run across in other grocery stores. read more

Central Market is a great spot to come find fresh fruit and veggies, and some that your more regular groceries may not have. My wife likes their dry goods area, where you can fill bags of coffee grounds, spices, nuts, and chocolates. They have a huge section of made in house foods, that one of my wives friends kid loves to come get that she has even asked to come up here for her birthday meal a year or two. As with most grocery stores that have a large selection of specially items, you can expect higher prices though on some more common items that you can find elsewhere. Just keep an eye on ad's, or mainly come here for those unique items you can't find somewhere else locally for a reasonable price. read more

My daughter said that wanted to go to Central Market so off we went. Since it was such a beautiful day we decided why not have lunch at the Central Market Cafe. Let me start by saying that I have always thought this place is really nice, neat, well organized and very clean. As we approached the register the young man working there was Mr. Jordan, very polite a quick and friendly smile and very welcoming. My daughter order the Roasted Turkey Club sandwich with fries and a drink for $11.00 and drink for $2.50. I had the Cereal Market Cheese burger with fries, fir $12.50 and drink for $2.50. Let me start with my fries, the seasoned to perfection crispy and nice and fresh and hot. The cheese burger was well cooked, but lacked salt, it came with dill pickles, lettuce, tomatoes and onions on the side. Overall the burger was awesome. The roasted turkey club sandwich came with lettuce, tomatoes, roasted turkey, and bacon and she she it was very delicious. We also got a tiramisu cake and sushi from the actual store of central market. Since I don't eat fish or anything seafood, she said it was good. Although we did split the tiramisu cake and is one of the best tiramisu cakes I have ever eaten. After lunch we walked through the market part of this establishment. It's very big the displays of foods be it the cool/hot bars, are well organized, displays neatly laid out. The store it's self is very clean, well organized, staff working there really enjoy working there appeared to really enjoy working there, friendly, and ready to assist you. There is di much to write about, but I lack any good words to do it justice. The smells of the breads, the coffee aisles smell so inviting, the produce area is awesomely laid out and everything looks so delicious. We purchased two apples and a small container of mini plain scones. Mere words alone doesn't describe this store. You have to come and experience it for your self. read more

We usually come here for a few things like produce, and the bougie water that they sell that is amazing as well as the gluten-free options and the amazing food they have but now we have two mini puppies and just wanted to take them into the store and shop with them in the cart but we were informed lettuce man in the produce section we can't have our puppies in the cart because it's a rule they have even though there is zero signs out front that say no puppies allowed he then proceeded to say you're not in trouble or anything or I'm not gonna tell anybody five minutes later we're carrying our puppies around the store and he calls his manager on us for no reason not to mention several other employees that didn't know about this were in love at the fact that we had puppies and we're asking to pet them as well as the customers so I don't see how it a issue which doesn't make any sense because the cash register guy who was bagging our groceries before we were about to leave asked to pet the puppies after not even getting to spin our full-time there because we were getting bugged about having puppies in the cart note to self if you're a dog owner, do not bring your puppies to Central market I guess they think it will ruin their fancy food fix central market read more

This place is busy and a little intimidating. The produce looks good and fresh, and is plentiful. Lots of fruits and veggies I'd never heard of before. The fresh meat area is a bit fishy smelling, but everything looks tasty. The line at the butchers is a long one. I didn't wait - it was a very long line. Just past the meat is the section with shelved and packaged foods - a lot of organic boxed meals. Fancy soaps. Various organic coffees. Reminded me a bit of Whole Foods products. Know where you're going once inside or you will get run over. Quick tip: the grapes are so fresh and delicious! read more

What has happened to this store. It has become a cookie cutter! Always out of stock in many areas especially the prepared food section. Never have twice baked potatoes, The sausage they offer are nasty chewy and a far cry From being tasty. Produce is great but omg the rest of the service areas and your chef need to be able to produce the simplest items without hearing "we are out" I feel sorry for the frontliners who have to deal with this You have done DOWN HILL And do not seem to care. You used to hang your hat on scratch made.... Now every thing is a mix or squeezed out of a bag. Shame on you. Have you lost what made you famous? Does a grocery store have any business being this adorable? I'm not sure, but I'm head over heels for Central Market. Seriously ... any grocery store that serves authentic gelato that you can eat while you peruse their well manicured aisles is redefining what it means to grocery shop. I'm a longtime H-E-B lover, and Central Market takes the best parts of this Texas classic and elevates it. The signage is similar to Trader Joe's, but larger and more eye-catching. The produce section is better than any farmer's market I've ever been to ... and they seriously grow their own mushrooms in-store. From handmade tortillas and breads to an expansive cheese selection, not to mention all sorts of fresh meat and fish ... Central Market has it all. If I lived nearby, it's doubtful that I would grocery shop anywhere else. read more

Central Market had great produce when I could walk and pick produce myself. Since the start of the pandemic I have become disabled. I am no longer able to walk the Central Market Southlake store, or any store and pick out my own produce. I elect and pay pickup fees and shopper commission and have senior transport services pickup and deliver to me, my groceries. Each time over the last few months, I received bad produce. Inedible produce. Sweet potatoes with worm holes, cauliflower with bad brown spots showing its on its last leg, onions with obvious rot holes to strawberry eclairs for $3.98 each with NO strawberries! I called, they directed me to Earl Giraulo. Earl assured me he understood. When I receive badly picked produce, I cannot drive to the store and replace them. I am just out of produce for the next two weeks and it makes a dent in my elderly nutrition. Financially, I cannot place another $35 order for three or four bad items. It took Earl over one month to issue me a replacement gift card. Over ONE month! I emailed them that day and said If I did not receive an emailed gift card w pin, I was going to place my honest reviews with pictures. An email a month later from me should not be the encouragement to finally make this right. It should be the quickest and right thing for a Corporation like Central Market to make it right! I took Earl Giraulo's word for it. Earl assured me to call him if this happens again. Well, it did. I did contact him. He did nothing. Last time with bad produce was on 8/26. It still has not been resolved! I'm still waiting on the refund. I found the phone number of said "Central Market curbside support" online and spoke with Lisa B. She listened and stated she understood and would promptly refund my items. That was on August 27 and I have repeatedly emailed for this appropriate refund. NOTHING! It has been 28 days! Twice since, over the phone she claimed to be issuing the refund while we spoke and still nothing. I am not sure why Earl Giraulo or Lisa B would not care enough to make right, their mistakes when picking produce instead of passing bad produce to paying customers. I would NOT recommend Central Market Southlake, Earl Giraulo or trust Lisa B's word. Not the way it treats its elderly pickup customers, nor the way the pass on obviously bad produce. Look at the pictures and you decide if you should shop there. I have to depend on their mercy in picking my groceries since they have the widest variety for this elders nutrition. read more

Visited Central Market in Southlake this morning. What happened to the employees' attitude? The store was fully staffed but no one said hello as they typically do. I needed assistance and could not get an employee's attention. The 2 employees in the Floral department ignored me while I picked out flowers. Service is always either non existent or really good. I'm not sure about the managers though it feels like I'm judged as they stare. The food is good really good it's what makes me continue to keep coming back. But the 1 star review comes from quality control. It's been 4 times now I've tried to buy one small pagonta loaf and pepperoni and both were bad really bad. The loaf of bread is stale but not stale to the point you wouldn't tell without chewing it so you find out after you buy it and take it home. And the pepperoni either always taste like some other meat. And it is just extra greasy. I get pepperoni is supposed to be greasy but it's like Greasy to the point someone spit on it. Overall it has been a good store thst has allowed me to eat without getting sick. There has just been too much consistency wirh this exact thing and it just feels wrong. Side note the ambiance is a little strange the salad bar is really not tended to you ask for certain things and your made to wait then get told no. It just is lacking actual care. Ps. The last time before this I had gone in around 2:30 pm on a wensday afternoon and some lady had a dog over at the deli counter licking on everything. Definitely not a service dog it was some small little white dog. It just amazes me that they just allow this jn there store with so much bare open product. read more
