I love stopping into this store when I need a pickle fix or I am craving a milka bar. Always a treat to walk up and down the small store, but have never had a lick of bad service here. They take credit and cash and I've never had a problem being charged an incorrect amount. Happy that we have this small gem here with a good mix of brands of stuff to try. For the person that drove 40 minutes to see the door locked at 6:45, call ahead next time. I bet the owner will stick around to help you out if he knows you're coming. This owner has been very helpful to me in other instances. And for the record, this store does have Greek brands of cheeses, olives, etc. There's also Turkish and Arabic brands. So, a variety of quality groceries. The prices here are going to be a little higher than local supermarkets. But you won't find these brands or culturally significant groceries at most national supermarkets either. read more

A hole in the wall, hidden gem for Watauga. This Greek grocery store will amaze you! Endless ingredients that you won't find at the big chains, all at unbeatable prices. I love when they have their homemade hummus in stock, as it is more flavorful and authentic than anything you find elsewhere. I often shop here for the olive oil and pita, among many other things. Family owned and the people couldn't be nicer. Please, do yourself a favor and at least stop by and see what it's about. read more

I'd heard good things about this place. So when I found myself looking for some authentic ingredients, I headed on over. The owner was super helpful! He helped me with everything I needed. Every aisle is packed with tasty items. Stand outs were the tatziki and hummus (both made in-house) the authentic frozen pita (it runs circles around that paper stuff sold in most stores) and the frozen gyro meat. After driving past it a couple of times, I decided to head down from Southlake to give this little market a shot. An excellent variety of staples from Greece, South Eastern Europe and the Middle East at VERY reasonable prices. This unpretentious place will be my go to stop for olive oil, Greek cheeses, olives and other specialty ingredients. If you have a recipe that calls for halloumi - you'll pay less than half than what whole foods will charge you. The excellent conversation with Michael and Soulla is an added bonus! read more

I saw this place while I was driving by the other day and stopped in to check it out. They've got a great selection of herbs and spices, beans, bulgar wheat, rice, pickled things, olives, grape leaves, feta, sausages (frozen), hummus, tahini, etc, etc. I also saw fish roe, taramasalata, and dried limes. I'm sure I'll see more stuff the next time I go in. The bottom line? If you like to cook Greek and/or Middle Eastern food, this place has stuff that's hard to find at other places. For me, that's usually the herbs and spices. This place isn't a full-service grocery with fresh meats and produce, so don't expect that. But if you're looking for those extras that you can't find at other places, try here. BTW, the map isn't showing the location correctly. It's on the north side of Watauga Road about 1/2 a mile west of Rufe Snow (not off on a side street like the map shows). read more

I LOVE this store. They have very many hard to find Greek, middle-eastern and Russian groceries. The carry both Bulgarian and Greek feta in many different sizes. the owner is very friendly and welcoming. On my very first visit he gave us all free candy and gave me a juice. It is worth the drive out to Wataugua for the good prices and friendly service. Pro tip: Give a call before you go to make sure the store will be open. read more

Had been to Apollo in the past for a youth diversity international food night (had youth bring food from their respective cultural backgrounds for others to try). Good experience shopping with my son for Greek food. Good selection. Recently my son went back for an international food night with his friends. If your kids go here before or after school, the owner is likely ripping them off by short changing them. He's done it to my son several times so today I sent my son in with a $20, his total was $10.75, sure enough the owner only gave him $7.75 in change. I went back in & let him know what I thought about it, & he damn sure gave me the correct change. What a scum bag, taking advantage of kids like that, probably a good idea if he closes up & finds a new city to rip people off in!! read more

Wonderful selection! Picked up olive oil and a few other ingredients. The owner was kind and answered some questions for me. Pricing is very reasonable here and there is a wonderful array of specialty items you can't find at the big chains like Walmart, along with everyday staples. I came early in the week, but I was told that Fridays after 12pm they get fresh produce from California. Great place, I will definitely be coming back. read more

Our extended family loves this store, from the friendly, helpful owner to the fresh greek salads and dips, to the selection of herbs, spices, coffees, teas and canned middle eastern foods. It is a fun place to visit and see unusual foods to take home and taste. At Christmas they had an open house and cooked authentic middle eastern foods for their customers. Delicious!!! read more

Great selections between Greek & Mediterranean Groceries, always clean, super nice owner always helpful and friendly.

We recently moved to the area and to much pleasant surprise I found the perfect middle eastern grocer in my own neighborhood. Michael and his wife are very kind and very nice people. I am an American that use to be married to a Palestinian and all I know how to cook is Arabic dishes the way my ex sister taught me. Now my kids are grown and that's all they know. Impartial to middle eastern food I think it's the best food ever! This store always has the largest garlic I have ever seen his vegetables are very fresh . His prices are very reasonable . I went to a larger middle eastern grocery in Euless and the other store was over priced and it had a a sandwich or cafe attached. I m so grateful I found this place . As for the other comments about the after school kids . I understand I have been there when some of these kids come in. He has had kids steal and run off . The good kids love to come to his store after school for their snacks before hopping in the bus. Also Michaels wife is kind and has a sense of humor sometimes she is there and is just as lovely to talk to. I'm so glad I moved to Watauga . Also it's a school zone so pay attention to speed limits the police are very present . Enjoy and don't buy all the grape leaves cause I'm planning on a huge get together for thanksgiving. read more

found this place from a recent local greek food festival booklet ad. i love gyros and they had all the makings plus a delicious tzatziki sauce and large pitas. the meat was the thin frozen commercial kind but was delicious as well and already cooked. i will be returning and try some of the other products (which are somewhat unfamiliar)! I stocked up on the meat for the freezer. haven't tried the hummus yet. 1 lb gyro meat was about 5.95--about the same as a single sandwich anywhere but can serve 3-4 people. was in gyro heaven! the tzatziki sauce was yummy as a dip too. very gracious owners. opens about 11 am read more
