Service comes and goes and you usually have to go to the counter which can be a wait. We had my daughter's bridal shower at Messina Hof in the upper room the weekend of April 4, 2026. It was fabulous. I cannot say enough of how wonderful this experience was and the price was on point. Leslie Newkirk was our event coordinator and she was FABULOUS to work with. I have nothing negative to say. The food was fantastic as was the wine and mimosas. We had an hour to set up, 3 hour event and breakdown. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful. This was our first stop on our wine tour for the day and it was a good place to beginning. The bartender explained how the tastings worked. They give your these chips for the number of samples and then u can pick , 4/5 I forget, to try. I liked that we didn't always have to go up to the bar for our next sample. We also got dip to eat. This was my first time in Grapevine to soley visit wineries. I came to celebrate my birthday. This was the 2nd winery I visited. Comparing the two, this was probably my favorite because of the way it was set up. They have lots of tables, and an upstairs area is available when it is not being used for private parties for additional sitting. They have two areas available for you to get you served, whether you are doing a tasting, getting a single glass of wine, or getting some food. One of the things that I appreciate is that if you are getting a tasting, you get to choose 5 wines. They give you a two ounce pour which felt generous compared to the other place I went. You can use their pairings, or you can mix and match. They also use tokens to make it easy to keep track of your selections. They have a wide selection of wines. My favorites were GSM and their Cab. I didn't try their food options, but I saw a lot of folks who did, and the food looked good. I will definitely go back. It was a fun place to chill and the staff was helpful, willing, and able to answer all my questions. read more

Out of all the wineries in the area, we chose Messina Hof's. It was an overall good experience. Our server was timid and not very informative, even when prompted. But we were able to glean from some of the other servers which helped. The food was elegantly displayed and thoughtfully done. A nice wine tasting setting in town. We had a great time here the other night. While I admit most of Messina Hof's wines aren't really my style (which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars), I like enough of the reds to enjoy myself, the food was great, the service was super friendly and fun and helpful - special shout-out to Cara, who provided the best insights and taught me a thing or two! - and, last but not least, i discovered some pretty solid ports. We did a tasting so I got to try a few different reds. The Private Reserve cab and tempranillo and the Command Post cab were probably my favorites. Then Cara talked me into trying a couple of different ports, including upgrading over the basic tasting level, and it was worth it. The Paulo port (I think there are a couple and I don't remember which) and the tawny were awesome. Not surprisingly, the tawny was my favorite. Delicious. I'd enjoyed tawny ports before, and now I can add Messina Hof to the list. Pretty loud inside on a Saturday. Limited seating outside - I do wish they had more of that! Pretty pricey but that's to be expected with craft wineries. Become a member and save. Will have fun here again for sure! Great spot for a private event. We came across MH while looking for a location for a rehearsal dinner. The moment we engaged with Leslie, the event lead, we knew we had found our spot. For events, what matters most is that your point person gets it -- that they'll do what it takes to make your event happen the way you want it to. Leslie is friendly, organized, flexible, and efficient, and by the time we got to Event Night, we were confident that things were all under control. Leslie (along with other MH staff Lisa, Lizzy, Kaylee, and Keri) always went over and above, and were such a pleasure to work with. They were totally flexible with our specific requests, and even delivered dinner menu options that weren't on their lengthy list. When selecting wines for the dinner, Leslie patiently allowed us extensive tastings, and helped us get to the selections that were perfect for the night. It all came off better than we hoped -- we cannot recommend Leslie and team enough. And lest I forget -- the wines were quite good as well. read more

Over the weekend, I visited the Messina Hof Winery. Parking can be a little difficult when you get there, but I'd suggest parking at the First Baptist Church behind the winery or away from Main Street. You have the option to sit outside, on the first floor, or on the second floor when you enter the winery. A host will greet you as you enter. We chose to take the stairs up to the second floor. We tasted the sparkling almond wine and the GSM (Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre), both of which were decent. The effervescent almond wine had an overwhelming almond flavor, and I couldn't drink the glass and the GSM was okay but it tasted like store-bought red wine. read more

What a fun time my friend and I had doing a tasting here. We each paid $25 for 5 pours. She got a sweet sampler and loved them all. I got the mix and match, my favorite was the Chenin Blanc, followed by the Cab Sav Reserve. So many choices. If you buy 6 bottles your tasting is free. This is one of our favorite wineries On Main Street. But wow Carrie who is working currently is WILDLY rude. You can tell she's had a rough day or is going through something. I asked a question about the wines and immediately was looking at as if I was stupid and regretted asking her anything. She's been noticeably rude to multiple customers. Dustin and Alexis were AMAZING and because of them we joined the wine club! They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We had our team's holiday party here and unfortunately I'm not impressed. There wasn't a lot of food...at all...and they gave me the smallest serving of green beans and chicken. When I asked for a little more they said no. The employees were also rude. They even took away our water cups an hour before we had to leave - I'm pregnant and that's all I can drink so that was a bummer. Fun place! It was super popular on a Saturday afternoon but we managed to snag a table. We did the wine tasting and enjoyed getting to pick from their large variety of wines. We also shared the charcuterie board and it was very good. I am a little picky with wines and typically don't stray from one particular type of grape, which wasn't an option here, so I was happy to have the chance to try some different things. Parking can be a little tough in this popular part of Grapevine. I would recommend looking for spots just off the Main Street. read more

My husband took me on a date night to downtown Grapevine! It was so fun. This winery is amazing. We did a wine tasting for $15 each which included 6 tastings each, and a Messina Hof wine glass, with each tasting. The weather was beautiful and we were able to sit outside and enjoy our delicious wine! The Christmas decorations were lovely and we got some great pics. Sam Douglas took care of us and did a great job explaining the menu and all the wines. She has a great personality and great smile! Patty, one of the managers, took us on a personal tour, and gave us the history of the winery, which originally was a hotel built in 1891 down the street. They rebuilt a replica of the hotel at this location in 1991, which includes pieces from the original hotel. The name of the original hotel was the Wallis Hotel. We had a relaxing, enjoyable evening!! And will be back! read more
