My husband and I went here with our two kids last night. We had such a good experience last time, we thought we would go again. We had taken our girls out for a super fun day through the square to get ice cream and visit the cute candy shop on the square. I don't know what we did to upset the lady working behind the bar, but she seemed frustrated with us from the minute we walked in. At one point my husband went in to get me some water, and she wouldn't even give us water because she said my kids already had water...... how do you not give a customer water.... She told us multiple times they were low on glasses so she couldn't give us another one..... it was only my family and two other people there. We love supporting businesses and love Roanoke, however, we will not be coming back. You shouldn't feel like you're upsetting an employee by giving them your business. read more

Highly recommend. We popped into 3 Vino for the first time yesterday, and are so glad we found this gem. It's just off Oak street down the street from the original Babe's restaurant. They have a great selection of wines at reasonable prices. The owner, Dave, was very welcoming and friendly. It's a quaint and cozy place. It's great whether you're looking to enjoy a glass of wine there or pick up a bottle to take home. It's also a great place to meet up with friends and enjoy a relaxing time. The music was good. Not too loud or too quiet. Just perfect. They also offer wine tastings. It was a rainy day so we didn't get to enjoy the patio, but we can't wait to visit on a nice day. What a great find in Roanoke! 3 Vino is a great place for wine drinkers (or Oenophiles, which I'm not). We met w/ the owners Mark & Tina, and they had such a huge knowledge of wine. They clearly were Oenophiles, haha! One thing I have learned is that I know what I like in wines (big dark woody reds, or light crisp whites). Once you know your palate, let the owners be your guide. They will always know of something in your price range, that you haven't tried, that will be stellar! This is a great place for a date, or to hang w/ friends. Sometimes you just get the feeling of how an owner cares for his business/ restaurant. You can certainly feel that in here! I don't normally like to give bad reviews to local small businesses but this needs to be said/done. The facility itself was nice and the wine selection was good but what ruined the trip was the staff. The woman behind the bar was unbelievable rude to my wife and I and acted "put out" to be doing her job. I'm not sure what her issue was but she definitely ruined the entire experience. The other man behind the bar was nice and we even asked him about her after she abruptly left for some reason, he seemed shocked she left without a word to him as well, then she came back about 30 mins later looking just as disgruntled. So if you go to this place just be aware that you will have good wine but you will feel uncomfortable and unwanted there the entire time. read more

Heck, we were part of their email system!!! - but tonight we went and also invited a few friends to join us (their first time) the girls working were SO rude, even rolled their eyes a few times! I was so embarrassed that I suggest this place. I ask for a pinot and they were "out" of all the four they offered by the glass besides the more expensive one. Im Sorry but I didn't want to pay $15 a glass when the one I wanted was $10. I then asked if I could taste the one they had available and she told me NO, I'll have to call my boss... then walked away from us into the back and ignored me. I have never been so upset to suggest a place!! Horrible! I wish the owner would have been there to see how they treated us. Very cute winery off the main street of Roanoke. We enjoyed the live performance on a Saturday night. I am not sure the name of the singer, but he was amazing. It is a very laid back environment with no a lot of seating inside. However, if you can't find seating inside there is an outdoor area that also has Cornhole (Bags) to play. Stopped in for a tasting on a Tuesday evening with my wife. Tasting was $10 each person for three 2oz pours. We tried Boem pinot noir, Quilt cabernet, and a bourbon barrel aged blend, and were happy with the wines. Sounds like tastings probably vary depending on what bottles are open that day. Mark served us, and was polite and happy to answer our questions and converse with us as we wanted. Store sells bottles to go as well which looked reasonably priced. We will visit again. read more

Spent the evening with a friend here. The establishment is basically a house on a lot. The house is nicely decorated and modern. Good place for a date, but maybe too small for any type of intimacy. The backyard was big, pretty quite for the location and had plenty of room to spread out. The lawn furniture could use an upgrade. Apparently there are wine tasting events and are listed on their Facebook page, have not gone to one yet. They have cheese plates but did not get one, had dinner before. Great place would highly recommend. Would suggest on the wine flights that they come out in 3 separate glasses so different wines do not get mixed. Would also recommend serving the flights with a small card with info for each type of wine you are tasting and offer standard flights of wine (reds, whites, etc) instead of only what is already open. I can't say enough good things about 3 Vino. I was in the wine industry for many years. Tina and Mark opened up 3 Vino 4 years ago today and I haven't seen anything that quite comes close to it yet. The reason being is that Tina and Mark have taken so much time learning their wines and so much time making 3 Vino a quiet and quaint place to come to. It's a great place to come to bring your wife, your date, or just friends, it's small, family-oriented, and a very warm place to be. There is also fire pit in the backyard as well as some yard games. Occasionally Mark and Tina will have live music and it is very enjoyable. Otherwise, Tina and Mark have excellent music selections on their iPhones which they play via Bluetooth system. The selection of wines that they have is outstanding. Mark and Tina are able to get wines that I was unable to get even with 10 years in the business. I'm very impressed with the amount of effort put into 3 Vino and the things that they do to make you feel at home. 3 Vino also has charcuterie trays to go along with your wine selection and they also have wine to go. They can get rare wines, allocated wines, and wines that you can't find anymore. I was so impressed with 3 Vino when they first opened, that I went to work for them for several months. If you're looking for a great place to take your wife, or your date, or several friends, at the end of the day and enjoy a nice glass of wine, 3 Vino is a place that you want to be!
