I lived in NYC and been to Italy more than once, so it was refreshing to get good food at this place. Tried again. Tried something different on my last visit. Ordered the chicken pesto pasta and was very surprised when it arrived. It was a cream-based sauce and did not match the menu description. Chicken as very overcooked. Again, service is good. Food is just not quite there in my opinion. Pesto sauces that I have made or ordered in the past are usually not cream infused. Came here for the 1st time on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. We were welcomed very warmly by the staff and got to sit wherever we wanted. The restaurant feels more like a cafe with cute chairs you would see in restaurant patios of Europe. Our server Matthew was very enthusiastic about the lobster ravioli which is what I ended up ordering. It was nice because the dish comes with jumbo sized shrimp and other veggies soaked in a delicious sauce. My husband ordered wings and devoured them. He mentioned next time we visit though, he'll get something that is actually italian. Sauce was a bit thin, but was still very good. Caesar salads were good, but not large by any means. Margarita pizza, we would not get again. We have had good experience with Rocco before with several dine-in and even with a big event catering. The food had always been above average and the service friendly with this family run business. We had no problem referring friends and family. Last night, the service was an absolute disaster. We were a party of six, coming from Garland and Denton. They were busy but had enough tables where they could place together. The young lady who greeted us said it couldn't be done but the manager finally did it and we were seated after 10 minutes. He was also our server. He looked tired and it took a while to get our drink ordered. Other people came in after us and he got their orders within 15 minutes for the meal. He then waited on other tables, took phone calls, and worked at the register. We had to wait for another 20 minutes before he came back to us. He jot down our main courses but had two of them wrong as he didn't repeat the orders. Food came out with almost an hour after our seating and was staggered with only 3 of them first (one dish was shared between two people in our party), and additional time for the last two dishes to appear but they were wrong! The spaghetti with meatballs was switched from marinara to Alfredo sauce, and the chicken pesto was switched to chicken parmesan. My husband accepted his order because he didn't want to wait further. I didn't want the parmesan chicken so had to wait for a redo. Drinks refills were slow. Eventually the pesto dish was removed from our tab. What went wrong here was a non-effective coordination of all the staff members on a busy night. Staff with limited capability should get the drinks, the bread, cleared the tables, do the refills, phone orders. The manager should take orders, oversee the staff to help out with customer's requests during meals, and run the register. Instead, the manager ended up doing many of the tasks he could easily delegate and he became nonchalant with customers and it showed! Will not be back nor refer people anytime soon. Hopefully, they rework staff's responsibilities to deliver a smoother, more efficient service so they won't start loosing customers! read more

This is going to be a love/hate thing! I really do like their pasta it tastes fresh and for the price point live it! Here's were we have a problem, I see people ordering pizzas so that' means they should be good!!! Well what we got tonight was trash, and and absolute embarrassment to pizza... we got the meat livers and a pepperoni. The worst crust I've ever had for a pizza. Horrible place. Do not go here. We came hungry. The food was bland. The service was awful. Five tables were served their salads that came in AFTER US and we were there almost 2 hours. I have been in several times. And you have to not be in a hurry. The food takes a while to come out and even for lunch when ordering the lunch special takes a while. Total eat time for lunch usually exceeds an hour. The bread that is served is quick to the table and has a pretty good dipping sauce. the meals come with a small salad that is pretty good but pretty small. I've only ever done the house but I know they offer a caesar as well The main entree is usually a nice sized portion and sometimes I can't finish it. I've tried their pizza, and several different entrees. Nothing stands out as a must get that I've tried there. But nothing has been bad either. Servers are friendly and depending on how busy they are will visit with you. But it is a solid choice. Price wise it is about middle of the pack, assuming no alcohol, you can get out of there for 15-25 a person read more

Nice comfy feel. Welcoming staff. Lunch special for $10.99 includes salad. The lemon butter really made for a too-tangy taste for me. My daughter thought it was fine so we'll say it's right on that line of too much for most. Chicken pasta with lemon butter is how they presented it on the sign out front. Rolls are those garlic knots. Great and came with the meal, ok to ask for more. The hit for our lunch was my daughter's spaghetti and meatball dish (meatball Parmesan on the menu). Worth a try as the flavor and juiciness off the charts. Caesar salad came with both dishes and so not a bad lunch deal between the special and also the $13.99 meatball Parmesan. First time for us seemed hit or miss. I think the waiter mentioned chicken parmigiana as regular Monday special going forward so might be worth a shot to try that date. He said it by far was their most popular dish. They do make pizzas, subs and other Italian favorites so plenty of options for everyone. Might be growing pains as both our table and the table next to us were given the wrong order initially. All was fixed within ten minutes though so reasonable amount of time. We were happy to see a new Italian restaurant in the place that used to be Swirl! The new decor is cute and inviting, and I love the blue and white chairs. I did find the large TVs to be a little distracting from the dining experience, as a place like this does not need TVs. The service was very friendly and attentive. We did not have to wait for anything! The Garlic rolls were delicious. The house salad was just so-so...and not really necessary. Our entrees were very good and very generous portions for the price. We ordered a few items from here, but I was very disappointed with the eggplant parm. This was probably the most underwhelming sandwich I have ever had. First the amount of eggplant in the sandwich was sad and they should feel bad charging people money for that. To top that off the bread was limp and crushed in the box. The taste matched the rest of the negatives about the sandwich. Would not recommend this place to anyone!! read more

Best bang for the buck in Flower Mound, by far! Family oriented, family-run feel, but also quaint and good for date night. We have been there several times now and the consistency is what inspired the review. We recently started coming here and it has become our latest go to spot. Service has been incredible each time - friendly staff, welcoming, and attentive. The food is absolutely incredible. Have tried many of the dishes on the menu now and I can say that I have thoroughly loved each and every one of them. Our favorites so far have been the spinach and artichoke dip, cheese ravioli with chicken, and lobster ravioli! The prices here are better than other places in the area and you get very generous portions. Love that they have many dishes with grilled chicken and veggies - they are always fresh and chicken is the juiciest I've had at an Italian restaurant! I've had generous leftovers each time and each dish has reheated surprisingly well - especially the alfredo/white sauces which typically separate when reheating from other places. I highly recommend this restaurant. We went for lunch, the food was great. They don't have a lunch menu. The chicken Murphy was the only lunch special and it was really good. Awesome spaghetti and meatballs, alfredo and bread rolls. The side salads were also very good. The service was exceptional. Our drinks were refilled continuously and the server was super nice.
