The service at Osaka's really stood out. From the welcoming at the door to the high tech table top system they use to communicate with the waitstaff. A turn of the small cube brings your server over quickly and happily. The menu offers some traditional Japanese items that our server was happy to explain. Some small photos are included so you get a glimpse of each item. They brought out a complimentary plate of yummy sweet potato fries to start us off, then we enjoyed one of the "burgers" served on a GF kale "bun" and had teriyaki chicken for the protein. It came with miso soup and a salad. We also had Okonomiyaki, a Japanese style pancake made of cabbage, veggies and topped with a protein of your choice. Everything was flavorful and delicious. My daughter really liked the kids meal, which had a really nice plate of teriyaki chicken, a piece of fried chicken, 1 fried shrimp, 2 rice balls and edamame. Two small kids could easily share. The mochi and the waffles also look great, but we were too full, so a good reason to come back. My friend and I stopped in here before going to a comedy show down the road. We let the hostess know we were in a bit of a time crunch before we were seated, and she said that was no problem. She informed our waiter of our time limit, and he passed the message on to the kitchen. We were in and out even faster than we needed to be. Looks like a brand new restaurant in Boulder. The environment of the place is beautiful. The servers are very nice, and the store has a very advanced technology for calling services. Very classy ambience. Food was good but I felt the portions were kinda small. Not a fan of their okonomiyaki. It was very tasty but still I felt it lacked something. Osaka's is amazing - try the okonomiyaki! I've been eating here since before the pandemic and it remains one of my favorite spots in Boulder. The staff is kind, the interior is gorgeous, and the food has always been amazing. The lunch menu sandwiches are a creative twist on okonomiyaki, but the dinner menu is the real gem. Takes me back to my visit to Osaka, Japan - so glad to have a local restaurant to bring back the culinary memories! I also recommend the takoyaki and tofu appetizers. Until next time ! read more

I even wonder why someone else hasn't created this kimd of food. Kale burger is not only healthy but tastes very good. One of the best meals I've had in Boulder. A lot of Boulder restaurants are good but fairly bland. Our dinner was fantastically flavorful. Their approach is a little different - they have a gadget at the table to summon a waiter. Similarly, they brought food out as it was ready, so we had a sort of staggered start and finish to dinner. It was a little odd, but we rolled with it and just started before everyone was served. Tried several dishes from the menu and all were great. read more

If i could give 20 stars i would. I wanted to put each staff member in my pocket and take them home bc they were so lovely and the food was off the charts delicious. The veggies were so unique and prepared perfectly. Sushi was delicious and my salmon was abundant and cooked perfectly. one of our dishes was forgotten and we were ok going without it. Extremely unprofessional staff. I'm a Uber Eats driver, o work delivering food from a lot of restaurants in Boulder and I never felt so offended as in this restaurant. When I was picking up a meal here to deliver, I asked where the restroom was, and in a very rude way the attendant told me that I could not use the bathroom as this was only for customers. I felt disrespected, discriminated against. As a Uber delivery man I am a partner of the restaurant, I get the food they make to the customer, I drive for many hours delivering food and the only place I have to pee is in the restroom of the partner restaurants. But this restaurant doesn't think I'm worthy to use the restroom. read more

We were not sure what to expect from this restaurant but decided to try it based on the reviews. So glad we did! A sign on the door said they were short staffed and not accepting walk ins. We went in to see if they could seat us anyway since we were only a party of two. They took our name and were able to get us in about 20 minutes later. The restaurant was super crowded for a Monday but the service was still great. The staff was super friendly, quick and efficient. The food and drinks were excellent and the atmosphere was lively. I like the experience of using the table device to indicate you're ready to order it's pretty novel for American dining and I hope it sticks around. The food was tasty and it's cool there's an okonomiyaki place in Colorado. This restaurant has been on our list to try out for quite a while. We missed our chance earlier this year due to COVID-19 but finally had another opportunity last night. We enjoyed outside dining, and the restaurant is following strict guidelines for safety. The food was exceptional, and while they do offer sushi, they have an expansive menu of Japanese cuisine, very reasonably priced. They have a device at the table that wirelessly alerts the wait staff when you need anything, so you set the pace for your meal. I highly recommend this restaurant and hope other Boulder residents make it a point to go there to support this local business. read more

I went to Osaka this afternoon for Chicken Katsu. I noticed the chef set the fryer timer for 5 minutes so I asked that he cook it at least 30 seconds extra as I like it crispy. I could see the chef pull my chicken 30 second EARLY. He sliced it but did a double-take. He kept looking at half of the breast. I then watched him take what I could only assume was breaded RAW UNDERCOOKED CHICKEN and he put it in the microwave. I was absolutely shocked. My stomach turned and I requested a refund. This place serves sushi. OMG someone is going to get sick. I will never go back and it was the first time I ever tried them. Shame. My next call is to the health department. read more
