    Osaka's Ramen

My husband and I were staying at the Residence's Inn next door and were looking for a place for dinner. We were so glad we settled on Osaka's. The place was packed on a Monday night so you know it's going to be good. We were lucky to get a spot at the bar! We were so happy with our experience. The staff were incredible. The vibes were great. Everyone was so welcoming. The food was amazing. I had the Osaka's Ramen and my husband had the Osaka's Chirashi Sushi Box. I reluctantly let my husband try my ramen, it was so good I didn't want to share! He isn't much of a ramen guy but he said it was the best he'd ever had and was very jealous. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.

Modan Yaki (5/5): I've been to a lot of Japanese restaurants before but I don't think I've ever seen okonomiyaki as a dish before. I liked the cabbage pancake but the Yakisoba noodles and pork belly on top were my favorite parts. The sauce might've been a bit too sweet but I still liked it. Takoyaki (4/5): Pretty good takoyaki with a decent amount of octopus bits. I liked the dried bonito flakes a lot. Osaka's Ramen (3/5): I probably would've liked this if not for the red ginger. The flavor really soaked into the broth and ruined the dish for me. The noodles were pretty good though. (2/5 as is but probably more like a 4/5 without the ginger) RATING SYSTEM 5 - Great (Need to get this again) 4 - Good (Would get this again) 3 - Ok (Might give this another shot) 2 - Not Good (Won't get this again) 1 - Bad (Telling people to avoid this)

Wow we ate here while visiting Boulder after a hike in the Rockies and I would definitely go back just to eat here. The portions are large, the flavors are a hit, and they are more authentic than other places. Everything we ordered was great and we would certainly come back to try more. We arrived without a reservation and they were able to fit our party of 3 pretty quickly. Don't sleep on this place, it's worth it!

Still a favorite sushi spot in Boulder with fresh fish. They have outdoor seating on a nice day too!

Honestly, for Boulder it's honestly not bad! The okonomiyaki -- which comes from the namesake city -- is something I hold a high standard to having just visited japan and I would come back here for it! Unexpected spot for authentic Japanese cuisine. The service and restaurant was hopping and warm -- great experience

THE TOPS! If you want a culinary adventure in a cute atmosphere with good service, come here! All the food was delicious, so let's talk about what sets this place apart. Highlights: Sincerely friendly staff The menu had so much variety to appease any pallet. Sushi, ramen, specialty dishes. Clearly market gluten-free and dairy-free options There was a device on the table to signal servers for when you needed something: to order, pay, etc. NO lowlights, but here is what to be prepared for: Timing: We were there on a Saturday and it got BUSY! Good sign for sure. But make a reservation, and be prepared to have the pace match the volume. It wasn't unreasonably slow by any means, but the kitchen was cranking out a lot of food. The sushi came out much faster than the hot kitchen food.

Overall pretty good. Nothing really stood out but it was good. You press a button to get your server which felt interesting.

Not pictured, we also ordered the duck soba noodles and the scallops. Everything tasted delicious. I do wish that I had saved some of the soba for when the hamachi came out but I did order those later. I would have preferred the hamachi to come with a bit of rice on the side but my boyfriend didn't mind the salad. It's a great date spot and if we were to sit inside there's options for Japanese style floor seating. When you go inside they ask you to take off your shoes and provide slippers for the restroom. Izakaya's are Japanese bars that have quick bites and snacks to choose from. I was excited to see we were heading in. Once arrived on Sunday night we were greeted and welcomed. Asked if we would like to take our shoes off and walk in as in Japanese culture this is very common. It really felt like I was in a Japanese izakaya in Japan We ordered - Tofu Steak - Baked Salmon w/ ikura & rice - Duck Skewers - Salmon Carpaccio Everything was delicious and cooked well. I could have ate 2 bowls of the salmon. Everything is nicely sized but a good size to not get too full to order more. This location is combined with another sushi restaurant and it's cool to see the sushi being made in front of you. Will be back!!

It's sort of like having to kids with the same heritage but they are not exactly the same but neither is better than the other, they are just different. Tonight we needed a fish fix to get healthy Vitanin D for me and good clean protein for my husband. With veggies of course an a tasty dessert, I'm partial to sashimi and had some tender large pieces of very fresh hamachi. My husband also likes crab and crispy so he had the spider roll. We shared some happy hour specials, salmon avocado roll and yellowtail scallion. We started with the warm "magic mushrooms" which is named for its appearance but is actually salmon wrapped around a core of avocado and grill and garnished with a nice soy based drizzle and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Nice on a chilly evening with snow still melting across town. Since he had a few leftovers to serve as his lunch tomorrow, I ordered the salmon skin roll to go. Since it is not raw salmon it holds up beautifully overnite in the fridge. When home alone, it's my go to takeout item. The staff is impeccable and the seating pretty and comfortable. We chose to order at the register and the employee was very friendly and explained the whole Motomaki process, which we appreciated. The process on how-it-works is located on the wall, but we both prefer in-person customer service. We ordered three rolls and one fountain drink for a total of $57 with tax.... I thought that was high for what we got. The service was fast and the ingredients were fresh. I'm glad I got the sauce on the side. My husband didn't care for the rolls because he said the seaweed was too fishy and he described them as "seaweed burritos". The rolls fell apart after we took off the aluminum foil. Also, just an FYI: three rolls were too many and we both would have been fine with one each but now we know for next time. Overall, I thought the food tasted good, the service was great, the price was high, and we would opt for bowls next time.

The happy hour $3 off from 2-5 p.m. is a great deal and brought my filling bowl down to $15.75. My order wasn't accurate -- I had to go up to the counter to ask for missing items that I had paid to add (edamame and a side of jalapeño aioli), but I was given them without a fuss. Everything was delicious and portion sizes were generous. I'd love to come back next time I'm in the area.
