OSA - I sooo wanted to love this place. Service was lovely. Went with a friend and we shared everything. The swordfish was really tasty, nicely done. However, The beets salad was gloppy -and I love beets. Couldn't tell if they were fresh or canned. The peach salad...burrata and broccolini -and covered in Pankow...why? The peaches had no flavor, burrata was so so. I saw people with hamburgers-maybe that's a better bet. read more

I had the pleasure of attending a yelp event at the Osa restaurant, and I was blown away. The rooftop is one of very few in downtown Pasadena, and this one is done beautifully. The views of the mountains and the modern space is breathtaking. It's spacious yet cozy and would be a nice spot for a date night or group. Finally, the food! Everything was delicious but the highlights were the swordfish with a drizzle of green sauce and the wagyu burger which was so juicy and flavorful, i'm craving another! Will definitely go back soon! read more

I am so glad that Pasadena has their own rooftop with different seating arrangements that is perfect for a group birthday dinner, romantic date, friend meetup (or a drink at the bar area with mocktail options) etc.! One of my favorite seating options is the booths that have the perfect view of the sunset and mountains! Golden hour sunlight illuminates these tables and the food which leads to a sunset glow! read more

Ambiance is a 10, fabulous Bar, with lots of sports TV on. Management is a -5, they need lean training - waitresses are not assigned a zone, so they run all over the place; takes 20+minutes to get a drink or soda; to survive, the table turnover needs to double - it took 2 hours to complete our meal, we usually only take an hour - but service and food was so slow. Martinis are served in a mini martini glass, so you pay full price for a 1.5 oz serving of martini. Chef - really disappointing - this is LA! Not Wisconsin so the food needs a lot more flavor and Quality Control - we were served Cesar Salad with brown lettuce leaves, dressing was bland - go try Charlie's Trio's Cesar Salad to taste a 10; I had chicken tacos, they were flavorless, mashed avocado is served with it - no flavor, plus a bed full of chips with no salsa. They only have pre-bottled Chipula or Tabsco. Valet - took 20 minutes to retrieve our car, plus they ran out of receipts so they could not provide me with a receipt. Definitely needs some management training in Lean, Customer Service and how to provide an exceptional experience for patrons. read more

Their foods definitely needs to be improved. if you're looking for a good rooftop ambiance yes! This restaurant has a good ambiance. Service was good. Shoestring Fries: in the menu says Rosemary salt, truffle, garlic. 4/10. Barely taste the truffle!! I swear! Peach Burrata Salad: not enough flavor. 3/10 Crispy Brussel Sprout: this the only dish that has a good taste 8.5/10 Grilled Swordfish: the fish is dry! No flavor at all. The only helps was creamy yellow corn. 4/10 Charred Chicken Taco: oh gosh this one. Please at least don't use store bought flour tortillas. The chicken taste unpleasant. We couldn't even finish it. 0/10 read more

I went to dinner to the Osa Rooftop last night and I really wanted to love this place. The hotel is beautiful and the rooftop is even more spectacular but I was underwhelmed with my experience. We had reservations at 6:45 and got seated pretty quickly. We were very pleased with the view and the ambience of the restaurant but ended up sitting at the table for quite a while before anybody came up to serve us. When we finally ordered drinks, we were told that the bar was under stocked and several of the wines that we had selected were unavailable. There were four of us in our party and three ordered a glass of wine and one ordered a cocktail. It took roughly 25-30 minutes to receive the drinks and they all came out at different times. Our server finally took our order after we got our drinks and it took another 40-45 minutes to get our appetizers which was followed by our main dishes about 5 minutes later so we had all of the food on the table at the same time. Are server kept profusely apologizing for the slow service and even stated "sorry, I am trying to get the food out of the kitchen as fast as we can, we are understaffed and overworked tonight". We ended up ordering another glass of wine each when our meals arrived, which took another 20 minutes to receive. As for the food, the burger was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend it. We ordered the beets and feta appetizer and it was underwhelming. The beets were very hard and it didn't come with any bread or anything to eat the appetizer with. I plan on going back to give it another try after some time because it definitely seemed like they need time to work out some of the kinks with the kitchen and timeliness of ordering and receiving drinks and food. read more

I wanted to love this place but it's failing on so many fronts. The view is beautiful, the aesthetic is great, and the rooftop atmosphere is wonderful. The staff doesn't seem experienced at all. The food and drinks are overpriced and fall flat. For example we ordered the peach and burrata. What did we get? Half of a peach diced up with a small ball of burrata on top of broccoli. Huh? What? Broccoli? With half a peach and a small ball of burrata! We had to ask for a table light because our table was so dark that we couldn't see our food. The truffle fries were soggy and a hard pass. However the burger was spot on and delicious! Would I come back again? Yeah maybe for a drink and the burger. But don't have high expectations for this place. Too bad. read more

Our experience at the new OSA Rooftop restaurant located on the top floor of the AC Marriott Hotel was amazing.  The restaurant ambience has an earthy feel a welcoming and positive vibe.  We arrived about 20 minutes before our 7pm reservations, we were greeted by three attentive host Emma, Molly (I apologize if I got your name wrong) and Dylan.  Emma seated us approximately 10 minutes after our arrival giving our party of 5 the opportunity to choose the table that best suited our party.  We chose the table right outside the energetic open bar area where bartenders eagerly served the guest sitting in and around the bar.  Our seat location allowed us to see the magnificent city and mountain view. The table setup was originally setup for four with the cutest bench for two. The only downside to the bench seat, although very cozy, did not slide to fit under the table making it a little uncomfortable to reach for their food.  Management quickly accommodated our 5th guest by providing an extra seat and ensuring his comfort by adjusting the umbrella to ensure the sun was not shining in his face.  The guest seating with their backs to the bar were treated to a viewing of the movie Casablanca, which was being projected on a large wall.  We had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Chris the manager.  He approached our table with poise, a friendly smile, as well as professionalism to insure that we were comfortable.  Our server was Kat. She was very attentive and accommodating to our order request  Our drinks Mama Bear Margaritas, Merry Roses (non-alcoholic), Merry Roses, & 7 and a glass Cabernet Sauvignon was served in a timely manner by Elaine, Dahlia and Anna, Anna, the one with her beautiful accent.  Our food was served by KC, Javier.  Yair make sure our water glasses stayed full.  Our table ordered the Brussels Sprouts, meatballs, beets with goat cheese, which added a delicious surprise; grilled swordfish, OSA burgers, chicken tacos and steak fries...Mmmmm good! Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, except for the steak frites. The steak frites missed the mark however, Kat made sure that the guest who ordered the steak fries changed her order without any hesitation. Kat made sure that the guest was satisfied with her chicken tacos substitution.  Oh, and the salted caramel gelato stole the show! It was creamy, with chunks of caramel. Our overall experience was very memorable, as well as enjoyable thanks to the wonderful staff, great food, and a fantastic sunset.  We will be back! read more

I don't usually give negative feedback, however, I was looking forward to trying this restaurant. It started with a reservation for outside, but being seated inside in the bar. When we asked about an outdoor table, we were told it would be an hour wait. Since the tables was booked specifically because they are a rooftop restaurant, this started the evening on a bad note. The waiter came by the table to ask if we wanted drinks, we asked for a quick minute. He then proceeded to clock out for the evening. The new waitress took 10 minutes to come by our table. We ordered drinks, didn't get them for 5 minutes. We were sitting in the bar... she finally came back to ask if "we wanted to order anything else". We had not ordered anything except drinks. The food was acceptable, but nothing special. The swordfish was cooked well, but not hot when it was served. The steak frites was okay. The waitress never came by to check on us. The manager cleared our table and a runner asked if we wanted anything for dessert, or another drink. We asked for our check. The waitress came by and dropped it off. Someone else ran the card and we left. Disappointed in the overall experience. read more

I had high hopes for Osa, but I think they're still trying to figure it out. Nonetheless, with so much publicity knowing they are the first rooftop in Pasadena, they should be ready since first impression is a lasting impression. Upon arriving for me and my fiances anniversary, we had a reservation at 6:30p and were told that we'll have to wait because they had several people ahead of us. What is the point of a reservation? I requested for a table by the edge overlooking the street for the views, but we had a table far from it. Again, what's the point of a reservation? We open the menu and presentation already off. It was torn out of the cover and really looked poor. This was already the start to a bad night. We started at 630p and finished around 9p. Not by choice, but because our server probably only checked on us twice unless we called him. We saw other guest having issues with service. Some not getting their drinks and canceling and others waiting on their bill. Forgot to mention, they would bring our plates and drinks all separately which my fiance thought was weird because she'd be eating alone for 15 minutes and I told her to go ahead. It all starts with management so I hope it gets fixed. There is so much potential with this space. read more

Came on Saturday, the day after grand opening, and it felt very disorganized. Went right when they opened and there wasn't a host so we seated ourselves. We were later told to check in with the host if we had a reservation, which we did. Once we sat down, the waitress told us again to check in. It was cleared immediately once I told her that I checked and wasn't a big deal but felt disorganized with how they kept track of tables. Once seated, they brought out glasses with a small pitcher of water. The waitress only filled our glasses 1/4 full and walked away with the pitcher. Every time she filled our glass, it was always 1/4th full, like they were conserving water? It doesn't help that we're seated outdoor in the sun, drinking alcohol. We just kept asking her to fill our glasses. The menu also kept falling out of the cover. The fries we ordered were lukewarm and stale. Since we were one of the first customers there, maybe they were from the night before? It didn't make us want to order any food and left at this point. This place itself is beautiful but I think they need some time to get organized. Not sure if I'll go back. If I do, it'll be in a few months. read more

Osa Rooftop - Beautiful sunset views! - Bars Near Me - Pasadena, California

I was actually so excited to try this place -- my best friend and I decided to have a girls night here this past Saturday. Upon arrival, the hostess' were very nice, but once we sat at the bar... service was utterly lacking and bartending staff quite literally ignored us for 20 minutes. Mind you, service wasn't incredibly busy, as they were tending to EVERYONE ELSE at the bar except my best friend and I. After forcing a bartender to take out order, he didn't even inform us of the $35 up charge for a reposado tequila. My Sidecar tasted like juice. Even after we flagged down the bartender to order initially, no one checked on us -- so we couldn't even order another drink if we wanted too! When we placed our drink order, we also decided to order the steak frites with a medium steak. We asked the bartender if the frites were the same as the appetizer fries (Parmesan truffle fries), and the bartender informed that it was the same. But when our food came out, the steak was extremely well done and the fries were plain. We sent the food back and requested it be removed from our bill -- which they did comp. All and all, I would not recommend the place... and I won't be back. Save your money. The only thing that's a plus it's has a nice ambiance and it's aesthetically pleasing. read more

A great rooftop experience!! We visited this establishment, Osa rooftop for the first time this Friday, with two other couples. What a delightful evening! A great getaway, Food, drinks and deserts, were superb. The ambiance was stunning. We commend our waiter Rene, who was attentive, helpful, professional, and the most cordial waiter, ever! We truly enjoyed our evening, and we highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality food, great drinks, serene atmosphere, and great service. Thank you for an awesome evening. We made outdoor rooftop reservations two weeks in advance, however we were seated inside right beside the bar. A very small drinks table with barstools, not comfortable and very noisy. Hard to have a conversation. Complete opposite of what it was supposed to be. Extremely disappointed. The food was ok, just ok. More bar food than restaurant. Service wise they were nice but very inexperienced. Poorly trained. The view from inside the bar was basically no view. Looking at other reviews many are very similar and the restaurants replies sound more like an AI ChatBot than a person: "We're sorry....repeat some points made....they'll notify the team....and hope to welcome you back". Very generic, again disappointing. read more

Made a reservation on opening night, which maybe was the first mistake. Very disorganized, had to wait for our table (mentioned the people before us stayed over their time) Ordered a couple drinks which took over 30 minutes! Order 2 appetizer, Salmon crudo & the brussel sprouts. Took an hour for the Salmon to come out which over salty/seasoned. The brussel sprouts never made it out (waitress removed from our bill) We ended up grabbing dinner at another local restaurant, we were here for an hour and a half and was only served 1 drink (each) and an appetizer. Definitely wouldn't recommend, hopefully they get their stuff together in the future! read more

Pro's: Nice view of Angeles mountains and the drinks were decent. Con's: Service was a terrible experience. Our server came to the table after about 10 minutes of waiting and apologized profusely. He brought us our drinks and appetizers but he then went missing. We didn't see him at all for about 15 minutes and nobody came to our table to check in. He was nowhere to be seen so we had to get a random server's attention to get the check to leave. The view of the sunset is blocked by wall on western side of the bar which was a let down because this place was getting hype on social media for a good sunset view. read more

Our reservations was at 7pm. We arrived on time. The hostess said the table at 5pm stayed overtime. ??? It's only 2 of us and we need to wait for that particular table?? Hostess said no but it will be a 15-20 minutes wait. ??? We said we won't wait for that long and we will leave. Hostess said ok and no apologies and no attempt to accommodate. ??? There was a man/manager standing next to her, gave us a look, no apologies either. ??? It doesn't matter the Mountain View, the food, or anything else. Terrible experience! read more

Osa Rooftop is a total vibe! Gorgeous views of the San Gabriel Mountains, cozy fire pits, and a chic yet relaxed atmosphere make it perfect for date night or drinks with friends. Cocktails are fresh and creative, and the Baja-inspired bites pair perfectly. Service is friendly, and the golden hour sunset here is unbeatable. Definitely one of Pasadena's best rooftops read more

The service was just okay and could use improvement. The charcuterie board was decent, though the crackers felt more like Ritz than something artisanal, which was underwhelming. The stuffed olives were forgettable, but the mixed nuts were a highlight. The tostones had good flavor but really needed a sprinkle of sea salt (which they unfortunately don't offer). Since this restaurant is still new, I think both the staff and overall service are still finding their rhythm. For example, when we ordered bottled water, the server didn't pour it for us, and chilled glasses weren't available. The team could definitely benefit from more training to bring the experience up to par. Ambiance is the only thing saving them especially since it's outside. read more

The food and the ambiance is amazing but the service for drinks was awful. We got our food pretty quickly but our drinks took an extra 15-20 minutes. OSA rooftop is our new go to spot. The decor, the food, the music, the staff-all amazing! We have been eagerly waiting for the rooftop to open at the AC hotel. We had the tostones (totally addicting), salmon crudo (fresh melt in your mouth salmon), cheeseburger (top 5 burger we've ever had), s'mores molten cake (perfect way to end the meal). They are set to expand their menu in the next week and we can't wait. We also tried 4/6 cocktails and they were all great. It is amazing to see how much they have done in just being open for 5 days. Came here to celebrate my birthday with friends. Made reservations for 10 people. The rooftop itself is very nice and cozy. However, our server really disappointed us. Collin wasn't very attentive. He was gone for most of the time we were there. We had to ask another server to get our check for us. My friend asked if he can put away the cake he bought and he gave us attitude the whole night. When it's time to get the cake out he just gave us the cake in the bag. No effort of taking it out of the bag or anything. He also didn't gave us plates and utensils for the cake. We had to ask another service Mitch which was awesome to get us plates and utensils. Our bill was over $600 and mandatory gratuity is $90. With the amount of money we spent we expected more for the service. read more
