Solid 4 stars. Found this place on Yelp and now this has become my go-to place for Chinese take out. No msg! Expect a line when you arrive. That's how good this place is. I ordered the following: chow mein - great seasoned taste and flavor! Salt and pepper chicken - he piled it high in the brown paper bag that the togo box wouldn't close. It was so good!! Beef and broccoli / vegetables I want to come back and try their salt and pepper pork, pot stickers, egg rolls, and fried rice. Generous portions! The owner knew half the people in line by name. There are a ton of regulars here! Closed on Sundays. Located to the right of the Verizon Wireless store. read more

Pork was hard and chewy, I should of just burnt m 10 bucks would have been better than eating there

Best place in town for cheap Chinese! Fantastic combination of price, speed, and quality. We usually get a 2-item combo with chicken chow mein, lemon chicken, and rotate the second item with either S & P chicken, mapo tofu, or S & P fish. Occasionally get the dry-fry beef chow fun when we have time to wait and there are few customers, as it's cooked to order. Everything freshly made and items are rotated regularly. When the employees start to recognize you as a regular, the portions get bigger. I have never had any problems with the female cashier being rude; actually, she calls me by name (maybe because I'm a regular?). Matter of fact, I have seen customers give her attitude. Sure, it's on the greasy side, but it's so inexpensive. Forget Panda Express! read more

one of my friends said he ate here a lot in his childhood and told me the portion sizes were huge, and i can confirm they absolutely are! they packed the to go boxes and put multiple scoops of each side we chose. for myself i got the sweet pork, lemon chicken, and veggies, the food itself was pretty good, although the pork was a little too tough. the lemon chicken was good and i definitely recommend it! 5/5 here for the price/servings but the food isn't the best ive had, especially the pork. there was a line building outside but understandable because one place could be saved for 2 meals! read more

This is a real Hole In The Wall! It is in a strip mall and flanked by other small shops. It's really easy to miss unless you are actually looking for it. This is so small that there are only 2 small tables inside - room enough for 2 people at each table. That's how tiny it is. So how do they make enough money to stay open? Take out, of course! There is some limited seating outside on a wall that surrounds a small tree and a couple of metal lath, communal tables. But, a ton of people come and load up for lunch. The food is fairly good and the portions are huge. It's a buffet style place - one or two items with fried rice or chow mein loaded into Styrofoam, divided boxes. I got the chow mein with the Orange Chicken and the Kung Pao Chicken for my two choices. My bill for this one single box full of food was $8.77, tax included. It was so much food that I could only eat half of it so there's enough for another meal! The food is good, prices are cheap, portions are large and the staff is super efficient! What's not to like? Literally the worst food I've ever had. Completely inedible, tasteless, all meats were dry beyond belief, salt and pepper calamari had 3 times the breading of the calamari itself. I don't understand how this place is still open and with the number of decent reviews it has. Total and complete regret EVER picking up food from here. read more

2.5* I've been here just a few times and it def looks bit run down. The vibe feels cheap, with handwritten notes of charging for everything you get (small sauce container, extra sauce, increase for meat entree, etc) the food itself didnt look very appetizing. For me, out of the potstickers, eggrolls and salt and pepper chicken, the only thing I liked were the potstickers. First off, the egg roll should be called vegetarian. Its "chicken egg roll"..sure..With each bite, I looked and only saw cabbage and celery ...for $1.10! Complete RIP off. I'm now mad. Should have gotten extra potstickers instead. 1.5* Then the salt and pepper chicken I had awhile back was flavorful but very small pieces of chicken and more crispy bits.. 2* the potstickers though are good. I like the thickness of the dough and a good ratio of pork to veggies. Seasoned and pan fried nicely. 4* Honestly, I prob wont be back. Best luck to them though. read more

BEST CHINESE FOOD IN TOWN HANDS DOWN. Excellent customer service and the flavor is on point! Everything taste extremely fresh like it was just prepared as we came! Portions as you can see are huge. 4 plates cost us $40. You aren't going to beat that price anywhere around here or the quality of the food. My family and I are extremely satisfied and are even looking forward to left overs tomorrow!! I could eat this food everyday. That's how good it is. read more

Price: A++ Instagram worthy: C Food: B+ Service: A- Visited: Tuesday 7:00pm I absolute love this play! The value alone makes this place amazing! To feed my girlfriend and myself (we still have leftovers too) we order 1 2 item plate and 2 potstickers. Our full meal comes out to $10. The food itself is actually pretty good as well. It's a steam table, but they turnover the food pretty quickly! The salt and pepper chicken and the lemon chicken are my favorites, but you can't really go wrong. Oriental express has been my go to quick Chinese food fix for the last 10 years, and I couldn't be happier that they're still in business and going strong! I probably go here at least 2 times a month!!! read more

10/10 bang for your buck. Huge filling delicious meal for $10 bucks can't be beat. Definitely reccomend.

You aren't going to find good quality food for less $ than here. $10 for a side and entree and she FILLLLLLS that thing up.

I love this place, good prices, freshly prepared & HUGE portions Best potstickers in the land! read more

If you are in the area and in the mood for take out, you must try this place imo. The portions are pretty good as with the price. I love the lemon chicken and the chicken and zucchini as with the chicken and tofu are pretty good too! The fried rice and the chow mein are decent, but tends to be on the bland side for me. But the main entrees are good to very good from what I've had over the years. read more

Food was fast, hot, and reasonably priced. Quality was ok. Special ordered General Tso. It was not crispy or spicy, and he rice was clumpy. The egg rolls were not hot or very good. The product is good for fast, hot, and reasonably priced, but expected more from a special order. read more

Not a bad place for grabbing a quick lunch around the area. The salt & pepper chicken was great and I loved how they don't have MSG (it usually gives me headaches). A good sized box for about $10. It has a hole in a wall feeling to it, but sometimes those are the best places to get food. read more

Amazing food, very cheap pricing, very nice people, always very kind and generous with portions. Super convenient service and the people behind the counter always understand what you are looking for in this fast-casual mostly-takeout cuisine. We are supporting this spot and loving their food throughout covid and if youre looking for tasty but reasonably priced, generous serving (more generous than Panda, for an easy comparison) fast Chinese food, this is the spot. They even will put the food in your trunk and take cash from your trunk, if you're super worried about contact. read more

Dear Michelle and Sam... THANK YOU SO MUCH for the MANY YEARS you have served my family! Your foods have always been SO VERY DELICIOUS. My family (Cousins Teresa Jue, Terry Dep, my kids and myself), enjoyed your foods for the past decades... For the first twenty years I went to your restaurant, I thought it was called "Sammie's". Well, good luck and grand fortunes to you and your family! We all wish you much happiness and peace. THANK YOU SO MUCH. David Louie and family! (My personal favorite dish was... EVERYTHING! I understand that Orient Express is a place that has been around for about 29 years now so it's obvious that they have their loyal, local customers. With today's competition and particularly in Chinese food, this place is definitely not good and is a matter of fact overrated. The place does always look dirty and unkept which says a lot. I question if they even properly store their food, use proper sanitation, etc. They claim they don't use MSG. Regardless, I don't trust the establishment. Don't expect much for customer service, it is what it is. Even if it was great or horrible customer service, their food lacks and the food is what I'm most concerned about. I've tried all their sides and entrees and they are either dry, flavorless, oily af, or all of the above. Overall, nothing is tasty! I've eaten at multiple Chinese places and there are many better options out there. The more I crave for FLAVORFUL food with QUALITY ingredients, the less I decide to spend my money at places like these. But if you like that kind of food: cheap, not nutritious, unhealthy and flavorless, then more power to ya. ;) Peace out Orient Express! read more

My family has been coming here since 1990 and is a major staple for all of my friends. This is where we meet for lunch when we are all in town. So, I'm eating as I write. I really like what is going on here. Now think about 20 minutes prior to me writing this and sitting at my desk STARVING! I did my yelp research around my office and found this place. It has some pretty good reviews so I went. Small inside for the ordering area and there is a small table for sitting inside if you wish. There is an outside sitting area but you can go to any eatery in the center then take your food there and eat. The food is really good for what I expected. There was a mystery dish that I think had Chicken and Green Beans in a Brown Sauce. I could not resist that, because I am in fact in love with Green Beans. My second choice was Lemon Chicken. This may sound gross but I love soggy Lemon Chicken and this is just how I like it. I also got one Pot Sticker. I like the out side of my pot stickers with a slight crunch and this one was mushy. I can see why they have good food because I saw Grandma and Aunty in back putting some stuff together. I can see this being a regular lunch spot for me. Oh, and it was like $5.50 for a great big portion. read more

Still solid but seriously like the soup nazi status ala Seinfeld up in there. All I can say is be ready to order your food and keep it going. I recently saw Michelle post about her business, Orient Express, and the troubles she's been experiencing with increasing labor costs, demanding customers, and the time her and her family lose out on while operating a small business. Highly recommend stopping by and grabbing a quick combo plate. read more

Not sure about the negative reviews about this place but I had a great experience! I ordered the salt and pepper chicken and it was just as good as everyone mentioned. I finally get to try this little hole in the wall. So it's a little different than what I am used to when it comes to Chinese food. This reminds me of your grocery store take out section, where you choose what's sitting under the lamp and they'll package it for you. So you can a combination plate based on whatever is available. However, you can also ask them to cook a special or something outside of what's sitting under the heat lamp. The serving size is large and the price is reasonable. I asked for the green beans (this is a "special"), salted and pepper chicken, and tofu chicken. I did not regret any of the dishes. I like that they stuffed the container, and the food was good. I plan on coming back quite often if I am in the area. The owners here are extremely nice. Based on their Chinese dialect, they speak Cantonese if you want to communicate with them in Chinese. They also take credit card, woohoo! read more

Hot and sour soup - 3 stars. Spicy chicken - 2 stars. The hot and sour soup was good, but it had chicken in it. The soup had a tinge of sweetness to it, which was different, but was tasty. The spicy chicken and fried rice was bland. I needed to add 2 packets of soy sauce to fulfill my salt preferences. A family affair business with a cute daughter helping out, but as OCD as I am, I'm not too sure about the hand washing policies with the daughter touching the egg roll wraps after helping out with other things around the restaurant. Portions are huge here and prices are super cheap, but unfortunately the main dishes aren't compatible with my tastebuds. read more

Too much food. 2 combo is enough for 3 meals. Family run joint with delicious main dishes to choose from. Pepper chicken lemon chicken are their specialties. Great potstickers, chow mein is so delish, steamed rice so good. Fried rice looks good too. The portions are huge, lots of activity in the kitchen - place is for take out only cuz there is hardly any room to sit/eat, I think only 2-3 small tables. Since I've discovered this place , we go here sometimes twice a week. (Depending on how lazy we are) Best way to describe this place is like Panda Express. They have certain dishes out and if you want anything else you order it from the menu and wait 10-15 minutes. There is one table inside , this is not a "dine - in" place , it's a take out place. I love their hot and sour soup I love their pot stickers (except when they give me burnt ones!!!!) My better half always gets there noodles, pepper chicken and Kung Pao Chicken. He loves it. It says they use no MSG. You get a large portion of food for reasonable prices. (Well you get a lot of noodles or rice) It's quick and easy if you don't want to cook. I think it's healthier than fast food but who knows. I love their sweet and sour soup. read more

Orient Express has cheap food, and lots of it. Three stars for the taste - not worthy of sit down restaurants, but it's do-able if you just want a quick to go lunch (and have left over for dinner). Upset stomach The worst fast food Chinese I ever had. I feel sorry for the people that think this is good fast food Chinese. Wife and I was visiting from out of town and was craving a little fast food Chinese. We found them because they were close to our hotel and had many stars. I order BBQ pork and Kung pao chicken. When I got to my room i realized they served me BBQ pork and some kind of chicken that has celery and carrots. The BBQ pork was over cooked and dried out and the chicken seemed to be boiled then coated in sauce. The fried rice was dry and really dark. The chow mein was soggy and coated in seasoning. The people seem nice but unfortunately the food was not. Your better off going else where. read more

I drove up to this unassuming strip mall to check out restaurants in the area for dinner after work. Most places seemed really quiet, but this place had a line out the door. I will say this first - I am not a big fan of the Panda Express-type meal, but I saw you could "special order" items fresh! Now that sounds more my type. This place is obviously a mom-and-pop type of shop, with the language difficulty/pointing at the menu to order. The lady at the front confirmed I was okay waiting 10 minutes (that didn't seem that long to wait) and I saw that my meal would be consumed sitting on a bench next to a bunch of planters (the tables were full of groups of people). This did not deter me! I went with something I haven't had for a long time - Hong Kong style noodles with beef and bok choy. It was steaming-hot and filled with tons of vegetables along with the order. Great decision! Everything was cooked well, and didn't have the greasy-feel I was expecting. The large styrofoam package was just the right amount! Crowds don't always mean great food, but I can see what everybody was lining up for. This is Likely the first place I have went during my bay-area trip that I will have to return to try something else! My only regret was not trying the potstickers - they looked amazing and I would be thinking of walking back in to grab a few of them if I was not content. FYI - the line went fast enough that even the items at the "steam" area were constantly being replaced - no hours old anything! read more

This place is my favorite Chinese food joint because they just plainly give you a ton of food for the money and it's almost always really good. I say almost always because sometimes, very rarely, comes out not tasting how it normally does but even then it's still good. Although they have a to go steam table with a ton of delicious stuff like salt and pepper chicken, hot tofu chicken, lemon chicken which are my favorite ones they have a full menu too. I scanned and put up the new menu with the new pricing that took place a couple months ago. I recommend the hot and sour soup here too because the soup is loaded with goodies like mushrooms, bamboo shoots, tofu, chicken and all sort of other goodies. They can custom make almost anything depending on your taste which for me is spicy. tldr; this place is AWESOME! read more

It was worth coming here! Food comes in bulk size!!! =) I'm telling you, I'm not kidding when I say BIG PORTION! they use mini shovel to scoop up the food. hahaha One order is way more than enough for 2 people & it's soooo cheap. I dare you to eat it all if you're going solo. The place is small and there's really no place to eat inside. I notice many people are just taking it to go.......there are couple of benches available outside to eat when weather permits, but watch out for pigeons. =) If you're on a budget, I highly recommend this place.
