I had never heard of Organ Stop Pizza until the week before our trip to Phoenix, when my husband (a church organist) attended an American Guild of Organists meeting at which the speaker discussed secular organist positions, including this one, playing the world's Mightiest Wurlitzer. He also loves pizza, and I'm an Elite Yelper, so of course we had to put it on the itinerary. While I'm glad we went, to be honest, it's the sort of thing that I could tolerate once a year. Even on a weekday evening, the place was crowded. The pizza (we shared a pepperoni and pineapple one) was just okay. The salad bar was average. The ice cream was pretty good, though, and generous even for a single scoop. We were able to find seats upstairs with a bit of a view of the stage, and being up high meant we could more easily see the percussion instruments hung from the ceiling. Unfortunately, it also meant we were eye to eye with the alley cat puppets, which I assume are nostalgic leftovers from the original iteration of the restaurant but that I tried to convince my husband are some kind of spawn of Babadook. Private free parking lot, gender-segregated but handicap-accessible restrooms, no wifi that I could use. Beware the flashing lights if you have photosensitive epilepsy. Otherwise, I can see why it remains a family favorite, with decent food and a variety of music entertainingly produced. read more

They open at 1530 and we got here at 1539 on a Friday in December. December through March is their busy sea. I know they take and recommend reservations for parties of 20 or more, but I'm not sure if it's even an option when there are less. We had no problems finding a table for 4. But we were still too late for the center seating on the 2nd floor. The organ player is extremely talented and he takes requests. Come here for the organ if you like music. That was neat. I'll give it that. The food was meh. It was also really, really, really loud. I was fascinated by the organ playing. I came around Christmas, so the organist played Christmas songs. He has a place where you can request songs, and he makes announcements about birthdays/celebrations. OK, I really want to give 5 stars for the Organ music because that was the most amazing part of this experience! However, I only give 2 stars for the service. We waited almost 20 minutes for our pizza and when it finally came up, it wasn't even that hot. It seems to be they need to have a better system in place to make sure those pizzas get out as soon as they're out of the oven and not just sitting on the counter. So I was in for a private event that was being held so I wasn't really sure what to expect since it was my first time coming in and I've got to say that this place inside is beautiful lots of wood finishes. The organ music was nice it's something that I haven't heard since going to church back home in Southern California. The salad was yummy, they had a few pizza options to choose from however by the time we got through the line however the pizza was cold. I grabbed a couple of slices of the veggie slices they had a good topping to slice ratio but it just wasn't edible due to how they wanted all the guest to line up and by the time we got done eating the main course they were cleaning all the stuff up and we weren't able to get our ice cream so I think had they given us more time to go through the line and eat things would've worked out so much better. This is one of my grandparents' favorite spots to take out of town visitors and let's just say it's an experience...and if you like all things cheesy, then this your place! SPACE: Located on the corner of Southern Ave and Stapley Dr, it's easy to spot this place - as the building is adorned in bright colorful lights which can be seen from all angles of the intersection and has ample lot parking. The interior is massive, features two huge levels for dining with the HUGE organ in the middle. Bright lights surround the stage along with dancing puppets behind the organ which were interesting. It's definitely an interesting space, but large enough for parties of all size - and parties in general! SERVICE: Because COVID was ramping up in the area, masks were encouraged, along with online or call ahead reservations to reserve spot for a show. A table was displayed outside for checking in and each person we encountered was friendly and welcoming. It's an order at the counter type of establishment - with orders delivered via server when ready. The woman behind the counter was also friendly, quickly took our order and proceeded to tell us the flow of how dinner would be. Our food was delivered in record time, waters refilled and paying the bill was easy peasy. SIPS: Although simple and limited - offering just a select few brews on tap and in the bottle and wines by the glass. We opted for glasses of wine, which came in mini bottles which I wasn't really expecting but makes sense for an establishment like this that sees a lot of traffic for shows. SUSTENANCE: As mentioned, the counter upon entry is where all orders are placed. The menu features all things Italian (pizza, pasta, sandwiches) with pizza being their best seller. As such, the hubs and I opted to split a small supreme pizza and a plate at the salad bar, which was the perfect amount of food for the two of us. I'll admit, the food is average. Salad bars always kind of freak me out - in that it's usually hard to know how long things have been sitting out for - but it was loaded to the brim with different types of lettuce, all the salad fixings, ect. It's not an unlimited salad bar, just allowing for one of two plate choices (large or small) and one trip only. For $5, I was a little unimpressed. Overall, it's really nothing special but hit the spot. SHOWS: Live organ shows are offered throughout the night, creating a fun and musical environment! The organist is extremely talented - in that he plays a variety of music (even requests) all while spinning around on the stage with bright lights corresponding to the music played! Coolest Pizza Palor Ever! or maybe it is an organ music hall that serves pizza? We were in town for a conference and a friend told us about the place as it is on her - To Visit List (her mom is an organist) The service was good, all the servers were friendly, and the price was reasonable. The food portion was good, the 5 of us shared 2 large pizzas and a fried combo plus some beer, we were so stuffed! The pizza was delicious with loads of cheese and fresh veggies! The organ show was amazing (phenomenal as my fellow Yelper! said) what a special treat to have pizza and such a great show. We have been to this restaurant a few times in the past. It is one of the places we take our parents and aunts and uncles when they come in from out of town. They really enjoy the music. The restaurant only takes cash so make sure you go to the ATM before you get to the restaurant to save the service fee. There really isn't much to the restaurant. The lower level is mostly picnic tables and not very comfortable to sit in for a long period of time. The pizza is average at best. It is not cheap. The crust is very thin and honestly seems like the toppings are a little on the thin side too. The music is outstanding it's amazing to watch and listen to the organist. We visited on a Thursday in January at 5:30 and the place was nearly at capacity so plan for a crowd. We still were able to move quickly through the line to order our food & get our number for the pickup window. We ordered appetizers and they timed them to come out before the rest of our meal. The menu prices listed on Yelp however are way out of date. Everything is $2-$3 higher, fyi. Individual pizzas were $8.99 I think, medium was $14 and change. They charge extra for toppings. Sauces are on the salad bar so if you need ranch for your apps, you need to ask for a little cup and go get it but it's good ranch, not bottled garbage so it's worth the effort. We then went to the drink line after getting our food order placed. Drinks are ordered at a separate station & so is ice cream, but you can get a root beer float when ordering drinks. A few things to note here: it's all Pepsi products which I for one love but there are no free refills on soda...only tea. You can order pitchers if you're worried about having enough but it's still worth noting in this day & age. I am picky about fountain pop but this wasn't watered down or over carbonated or flat - it was just right, even the diet. ;) By the time we got seated (which wasn't a problem even with 10 of us), our apps were ready for pickup. The pick up process is fast and easy. The food was hot and it wasn't hard to get it all back to the table, surprisingly. The only trouble we had all night was a hiccup in our pizza order (they gave us 2 specialty pizzas & no cheese, we ordered 1 special, 1 cheese but it was promptly fixed). The entertainment was actually outstanding. My rotten kids know that I dislike the B52's so they requested Rock Lobster and he nailed it, saying afterward "no one has ever requested that song before" (& probably won't again, guy) so he ducked into the pit to learn it real quick. Incredibly talented organist & super fun show. He played everything from Beatles to Disney and even nailed Toccata & Fugue in D minor (think: Dracula). Overall, our guests had a great time. The food was good. The padded cafeteria style seating meant people could get up and down easily without disturbing anyone around them and we were close enough to chat with the folks at the table next to us. My husband and I visited this place with 3 other couples, and we had a great time. Each couple ordered their own pizzas, and my husband and I also got an order of deep fried zucchini sticks. I'm drooling while writing this review, it was that good. We got a medium pizza with pepperoni, sausage, ham, mushrooms, and green pepper. The crust was thin and crispy, just the way I like it, and it had just the right amount of toppings. I can honestly say it was the best I have had in a long time. The zucchini sticks were perfect, and it was a generous serving. While we ate we were entertained by a guy playing a huge Wurlitzer Pipe Organ. I recall eating at a similar place (Pizza and Pipes) in Tacoma when I was a kid. It wasn't quite the same as the place in Tacoma, but it was good, and we're all glad we went. *I do want to note that the prices on the little flyers that you can get at the counter are not correct. It's an experience. The organ player is amazing. It's really fun to watch him and we went in December so beautiful Christmas songs and other songs. I have to be completely honest we did not like the food but sometimes that's just how it is you pay for the experience. It wasn't inedible. just not very good. There were lots of lights and spinny stuff which felt like too much for me, but again, the organ was beautiful. the songs the organ player played were too childlike though since they are supposed to take requests from customers and there were a lot of kids/families. Also, not the sort of place you have a conversation in, and the food was okay. It was like probably peter piper pizza level or less. To be fair, I was also expecting more. I had heard about Organ Stop Pizza from my mother-in-law. We had done the Singing Pandas, the Chinese restaurant with entertainment, and someone had recommended to her going to Organ Stop Pizza. My son loves music, especially live music so we thought we would give it a try. We wanted to go on a Saturday and didn't want to wait too long, so since they don't accept reservations, we tried to get there as early as possible. They open at 3 PM and we got there by 3:45. The parking lot was crazy busy so we were a little bit nervous but upon arrival, we had just beat the traffic. We didn't wait in line long at all. We put in two orders for two pizzas. We ordered the spicy Italian and a regular cheese. We only waited about 20 minutes for our pizza to be ready. You also can choose to get a salad bar, beverages, they even have ice cream at the end if you want to treat yourself. The place itself is super cool. It is open seating so once you order, you can sit anywhere you want. There's not really that many bad seats in the house and they also have an upstairs area if you can't find something downstairs. The organ player played all kinds of fun songs. A lot of Disney songs so my son was happy. You can also put in a request and there's also a box to tip. We had gotten there and got to enjoy the music for about 20 minutes before he went on break. So the next 20 minutes, we just kind of sat there. We didn't know how long the break was. We ended up leaving and on the way out heard the music come back on. The organ player is very talented! There's a little arcade and also a gift store for kids. We played one arcade game-they take regular change, and then we left. It was pretty disappointing to be honest. The place itself is awesome, but it wasn't very clean. The pizza wasn't good at all, and it was $40 for two large pizzas. The people next to us had a vegetarian pizza which I wouldn't normally order, but it did look way better than ours. Organ stop pizza is more of a destination than a restaurant. One goes to hear and see the impressive musical ability of the organists. I didn't even know you could play some of the music they played on an organ of 4 rows of keys. Star Wars medly, Phantom of the Opera, popular current tunes, show tunes and of course kids music like: "We don't talk about Bruno." They take requests and when they play, it Is loud so conversation is challenging. There are usually 20 min intervals with 10 min breaks. Did I mention they have pizza, salad, fried appetizers (not my favorite) soda, beer, and ice cream. The pizza is mediocre but not the worst. The pizza was not super thick or doughy. The toppings are generic but there are sufficient covering on the pie. The order numbers are displayed on a large number board with small lit numbers. You can order and and then you can enjoy the show. Everyone should visit at least once and there are plenty of senior age customers, families and couples who are looking for a unique musical outlet. it is also a fun plsce to take out of town guests who are looking for an inexpensive and fun interactive experience The staff are usually very helpful, especially the woman who works at the gift shop. They sell state 48 organ stop pizza t-shirts there too. Overall I think most people will find some aspect of the experience to enjoy. read more

My son turned 23 yesterday, my husband (his step dad) and I wanted to help him celebrate. We came here when were just dating more than 10 years ago. We didn't tell the family, anything about the place and the surprise worked My ex and our 21 year old son joined us as well. As we walked in, the theme from Star wars was playing, this was all the boys needed for the cool factor. We ordered pizza at the counter and then went to the drink station for refreshments. I indulged in the salad bar, everything was cold and fresh. The pizza was cooked perfectly, every bite was delicious and the toppings were very generous. We had a medium pepperoni, sausage, and black olives. About halfway through our meal, the last show of the night started. I have to give you all so many kudos. It is NOT easy to impress my 23 year old and his dad, but they were floored! It was fun to watch their reactions and witness their amazement. They are both musicians and both were so fascinated. My son said he loved seeing the science of music put into action. My 21 year old and I were singing the songs totally off key, but we had a blast doing it! You need to know that I haven't been in the same room with my ex this long in over a decade, so it was a monumental moment last night. We came together and made a lasting memory for the kids.
