Organ and player during a song
    Katrina T.

Oh my gosh! We had such a great visit here-- and it brought back so many memories! 34 1/2 years ago, my husband and and I had our first date at the Organ Grinder in Portland, OR. The pipes for the organ here came from the one in Portland after it closed in 1996, so it was kind of cool to know that! The atmosphere is fun-- loud, as is to be expected, yet fun and cool lighting to go along with the organ. The organ rising and lowering is also really cool! Watching the player navigate all of the different parts of the organ is amazing! The pizza was awesome! Crunchy cornmeal crust, not burned, lots of toppings. We asked for no onion, received one WITH onion. They let us keep that one to munch on if we wanted while they made us a new one! THAT is great customer service! Can't wait to come back when our kids come to visit!

I felt like I was walking straight into a Chuck E. Cheese from the early 2000s. But MORE. It feels like a restaurant that belongs in the House on the Rock at Wisconsin. A place that feels whimsical and magical. I almost started crying when I saw the organ coming out and the lights and little dancers. What a feeling of nostalgia. Please don't change a thing, Organ Stop Pizza. From the smell of the air, the intricate details on the walls, and the menu in the front- everything felt so nostalgic. I wish I had been here when I was a kid! I absolutely loved it. There's a huge dining area on the first floor that can definitely accommodate for a large party of people and a beautiful view on the second floor. I'm really glad I found this gem. There are also gluten free options which I appreciate and a salad bar on the side.

5 stars because this place is my childhood. I went here all the time growing up and it was such a great experience that I now bring my children here. Finding a family friendly restaurant in Arizona is hard but this one is perfect. There 2 stories and when the organ is going, it's loud and so fun, just a great show to watch and very unique! The food is just average, it not fantastic but it's your typical pizza parlor food. They also have a very small arcade and prize center for the kiddos as well. I love this place so much, I hope you guys try it!

The atmosphere id great! The organist was fantastic and they take requests. It is family style seating. The pizza is thin with no crust and came out quickly considering how busy the place was. We enjoyed the vegetarian pizza, but a bit more sauce would have been nice.

Liberace meets Chuck E Cheese! Birthday gurl dinner out, I wanted something different. Organ Stop Pizza in Mesa is a delightfully odd experience. The world's second largest pipe organ in a pizza and beer hall. The ambiance was nice, the music was fantastic, and the pizza wasn't bad. The organist takes requests, and looks as though he tries to play them all. I can't imagine the talent it takes to play hundreds of songs, from memory, while organizing dozens of request cards, and playing that monster of an organ with both hands and both feet. We got Christmas music, Phantom of the Opera, Elton John, Billy Joel, Prince, Brittany Spears, Frozen, Pirates of the Caribbean, a huge variety. Highly recommend.

Cool experience! Definitely stimulating when you first walk in! I recommend finding a seat and getting situated before ordering. You order at the counter (multiple counters if you want a drink or dessert) l, then you go pick up your order when your number shows up. I've been wanting to see this place for years and glad I came but probably wouldn't come back, certainly not as a single person. Too hard to coordinate seating, going back and forth for multiple items, and leaving my items unattended to go grab a drink. I do wish they would have someone w a long thru the dining area at least taking drink orders or allow people to pay for drinks at the first food counter then pick up before seating. The register is also very outdated but that was fine. The organ player was great and overall energy good. I did like the community table feel and asked my neighbor to watch my food while grabbed lunch but that still wasn't ideal because she had to grab her food while I was away. Not the best system for hygiene and convenience. I can see this establishment being great for families and kids. I was a bit nervous too about fall hazards for senior patrons who had canes and walking limitations with so many folks running around and in multiple lines. The salad bar options were generous and fresh. The garlic bread well prepared. Didn't love the flavor of the marinara sauce. A bit bland and sweet for my taste. Also no refills on sodas so everything adds up pretty quickly at the different stations. I went ahead and gave it a 4 since everyone seemed to be having a great time and the music ands atmosphere were great.

The literal book definition of a dinner and show! This place is fun for all ages we saw everyone from kids to the elderly. I took my musician husband here for a date and since we both love music, it felt like such a cool way to incorporate it into our day. The pizza is priced surprisingly about the same as any restaurant pizza so why not enjoy live music along with a great meal? The place was packed. So just a heads up you might end up sharing a table, but we didn't mind at all.

Rating: Organ Stop Pizza is a rare piece of joy that's been part of the Valley scene since 1975. It is truly a one-of-one experience; where else can you eat pizza while listening to the largest Wurlitzer theater pipe organ in the world?. The atmosphere is incredible--watching the 8,000-pound hydraulic elevator "present" the organ to the room is a showstopper. It's a music-inspired masterpiece run by a wonderful team that feels like family. Whether you have kids or not, the "ooghas," "tweets," and sheer power of the music make this a must-visit.

I hear so much about this place and had to come try it when I was in Mesa with my kids. The organ player was amazing I loved that experience but the food was disappointing the mozzarella sticks something is off about the breading. The pizza was not bad it was okay. Honestly if I come again it would probably just be for the organ. I had higher hopes on the food, and was just not up to par.

My last visit here was about 15 years ago and I cant believe I had sadly forgotten about this place. I brought my cousin who is visiting form out of town and we had a great time. We were quickly greeted by the gift shop attendant as we walked in and she was SOOO nice. She gave us the 411 and gave me a refresher on how everything worked. We were a group of 5 so we ordered two large specialty pizzas, garlic bread with cheese, and a combo basket that included - mozzarella sticks, zucchinis, and fried mushrooms. We also got 4 drinks and one water. We sat down upstairs and we had a great view of the organ and show. Our food didn't take too long and we picked it up when ready. Everything was good. The pizzas were hot, loaded with toppings, and had a nice crisp. The garlic bread and basket were good as well. The workers we interacted with friendly and welcoming. Loved the music that was played!

Organ Stop Pizza is a blast. The pizza and appetizers are great tasting and affordable and the best part is the organ and all the little gadgets it controls. I love watching the organist play and I'm in awe of the talent and coordination every single time I visit. I don't live near the place, I wish it was as closer. if you're ever in Mesa definitely go, if you have little kids- they'll love it.

Been coming here for decades. So glad this place is still going. We have shared memories here over the years. It's still a great place to have a great bite along with some entertainment. Just a nice place to have a nice meal and some fun. With or without the family. We always have a great time coming here. It's amazing watching the organ player play. So many keys and all the wonderful great notes and sounds coming out of the organ. Who knew an organ could do all this. Per their website " Home of the Mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ. Each night the largest theater pipe organ ever created rises above the audience on an 8,000-pound rotating hydraulic elevator to sit 10 feet above the 700-seat dining room. The organ has 1,074 keys, buttons, and switches linked to a series of xylophones, glockenspiels, gongs, and cymbals to create the sound of a full orchestra." That's no lie. You can request a favorite song. Or just listen. I have heard everything from Roll out the Barrel to the Little Mermaid to Frozen to Sweet Caroline to Mission Impossible and so on. Seriously it's fun. Truly. And it's in Mesa. The pizza is good and they have a salad bar, some pasta, appetizers. Beer, wine, sodas. Ice cream, they make great sundaes. Always consistently good. Gluten free and sugar free options. The best thing is you can order what you like. Cheese only ok. Combo ok. Mix this with that. Ok. No worries here. Veggies only. Fine. And I've never had a disappointing meal. Apps are usually fried real nice. Two can share or get a few and share with all. I've never left hungry or disappointed. A small arcade to keep the kids busy. Nice place for birthday parties. It's also fun to watch the kids dance around and have fun. Laid back casual place. Staff is always great. Make the drive. I think you'll love it.

What a fun place! The ambiance was excellent. There is an organist that plays and coordinates the whole show. People can place song requests and he did an amazing job. My favorite was listening to the phantom of the Opera. The food is also good. You pay first and the order number is displayed on a monitor to pick up later. I also loved that they were doing Christmas in July- where they give you 10% off to donate $2 to the local food pantry.

Ask the Community - Organ Stop Pizza

    Is it still cash/check only?

    They take cards now.

    Is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes. I definitely think it is. The entrance is flat and you can enter into the dining room from the lobby.

Is the organ played during all hours the restaurant is opened?

The past several times I have gone usually the first 30mins to 45 mins there is no organ playing. They then get going and have intermissions in between. Not sure about at the end of the night.

We requested a party of 20 but two people can't come will they still except our party?

    No problem.

What time Does the organist play?

All day with a few breaks minimal

What time and day seems to be least busy?

Not sure what times are not busy. Maybe if you go mid-week it may not be as bad or go right when they open.… Read more

Who is the BEST organist to go see perform since Charlie Balogh has passed, in your opinion?

Charlie's replacement is really good! He did a lot of 80's songs this evening (and some kids songs).

Why you don't take debit cards?

Because they don't have a card reader, nor a proper "vendor" agreement in-place with a credit/debit card processing service. There's an ATM in the lobby, however.

    Is the pizza dough vegan?

Hi, yes the crust is vegan and they also offer a gluten-free pizza crust too. If you want vegan cheese on your pizza feel free to bring some in and we'll add it to your pizza! Questions? jack@organstoppizza.com

My husband had the spicy BLT, and it was just as impressive in both quality and size. Each sandwich comes with a bag of Ruffles and a pickle, which is a nice touch. It was impossible for them to not know that the bread was stale and hard. The order was at 10:15 AM so it was not a situation where it sat out long enough in the day to get hard. This had to be yesterdays stale bread. I have to ask who does this? Do they think the customer is going to find this acceptable? Paper on the cheese and stale bread on a 20.00 sandwich. There is genuinely no excuse for this and who ever prepared this food needs to be either reprimanded or terminated. You have one job and that is to make a quality product. If things like this are happening it makes me wonder what other corners are cut and if there is actually any manager overseeing quality and safe practices! The day we had gone in, they had a few sandwich and pasta options available to choose from. My husband got the spicy Italian sausage ziti pasta dish and I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. The sandwich came out first; I really liked the marinara sauce on it. It was a bit difficult to eat but exactly what I was expecting and wanting. The pasta took some time to come out, but that was fine. The sauce was like a pesto vodka sauce, very rich & filling, and also tasty. We were both only able to eat half of each dish since they were both large dishes. I believe they only serve pasta dishes on certain days, so if they have them on the menu, definitely consider ordering one of those. They seem to have sandwiches everyday. While we were dining, it got very busy & as we were wondering where everyone was going to sit, people started walking through the glass door between the two eateries. Drinks: lots of choices. We opted for the $16 horchata flight (flan, strawberry, mocha, espresso). The former two were my favs because I don't like coffee, but my sister def enjoyed the latter two. Food: hefty breakfast sandwich w/ sausage, cream ala creme (biscuit & fruit), BHH French toast w/ bacon. The sammy was made w/ three eggs so it was a large sammy, kinda messy. I think they need to spread out the eggs a bit more so they cover more space & don't slip out from between the bun as easily. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy. The French toast was also a hefty serving, especially w/ the bacon tacked on. The biscuit came out w/o the whipped cream, but the young gentleman quickly brought it out when I pointed out it was M.I.A. It was not as sweet as I was expecting; not sure I'd get that again. The biscuit was juicy, buttery perfection and the gravy was real, not the bland packet gravy some places use. The bacon came out at the exact crispness for the best melt in your mouth bite, and they were huge pieces. The hashbrowns were good, nothing fancy though. Eggs cooked perfect (over easy for me). I also got the mocha iced latte and it was very chocolate forward, not much coffee flavor, but still tasty. My only complaint, and I mean ONLY complaint, is that price point. I spent $25 for the biscuits and gravy with a coffee and left hungry. I think had they given me two biscuits instead of just one, maybe that would fix everything. Nevertheless, I do recommend trying this place out
