Oregano's is a quality local pizza chain that promises unique tastes on its signature thin crust pizza dishes. And it delivers . The pizza is exceptional , if spicy and lighter than expected at times. But everything is done very well here. The servers are kind and well trained . The facility is decorred in a range of '30s-'50s tchotchke paraphenailia with Italian crooner and club music creaking through like an AM radio. The only things that I like less about Oregano's are as follows: the pizzas are not filling and the prices are high. Take these in stride, but an 18" thin crust pizza is $25-30. Wow. And the problem is that if you eat it as a meal, you never fill up. So, it can feel problematic to take a family out when everyone ends up still hungry after spending (easily) $50+ on a large and small pizza combo . The solution to these is not getting more pizza, but having the cheese bread appetizer first- it is massive and helps fill you up. Unfortunately, this means spending even more money. I found, for a family of 4, I end up spending $65-70 for a lunch here. Not crazy insane but a lot more than spending for pizza almost anywhere else. Overall, the food and experience is worth visiting, but the cost means you can only go rarely. read more

We sat at the bar because there was an hour wait, but the service was outstanding. The bartender was super friendly and attentive. We had the numbero uno thin crust and it was so good! Well.... Unfortunately I didn't enjoy the pizza, the quality and taste is not the same! We used to love it. Our server was very good, great personality, the only issue is that he forgot to place my daughter's kid size pizza she had to wait the 35 min for our pizza to be brought to the table and then wait more for hers to be baked, no problem with that we understand mistakes happens BUT they still changed it for it, it's not about the money it's the principal of making her wait. I absolutely love Oregano's and my husband and I go at least once a year as a tradition to enjoy the BEST pizzookie I've EVER HAD! We've tried the white chocolate macadamia, peanut butter, and regular chocolate chip and we both agree the original chocolate chip is the absolute best and most delicious thing ever. Got a shrimp pasta with garlic sauce dish. It was exceptional and perfect to my taste; however, if you are not a fan of cilantro, this dish has a lot of cilantro to it. My wife has previously ordered it without cilantro to her satisfaction. As most dishes at Oregano's, it is large enough for two people to enjoy and both be pleasantly full. It's enough food to allow for dessert but to provide a reason to pass on dessert - that kind of full. The pasta choice for the dish is perfect and gives it great texture in every bite while not being too messy or hard to eat; the shrimp is perfect. Letting the bread soak up the garlic sauce at the end is divine. The mango strawberry lemonade was also well crafted, even if it did not come with free refills. I've had both gluten free and thin crust pizzas here. I'm a huge fan of the gluten free pizzas, though they do come a little small - order two for three people only if you're not feeling super hungry. Ordered take out via door dash. The driver had to wait an additional 20 minutes for food to be easy. We live ten minutes away. Upon arrive all the items needed to be reheated. Except for the lasagna which we couldn't salvage because it was so dried out and hard on top from either over cooking or being days old. The bread was cold, the cheese on the pasta was cold. We love coming to Oreganos! My son gets the bottomless Bowl a Pasta with two huge meatballs. He likes it better than homemade. My salad was delish. Have always had a good experience here. Pizza has always been excellent. However, yesterday we ordered a thin crust 14" pizza and it was undercooked and had way too much cheese and was practically unsliced. Have to say we were disappointed. Someone should quality control the food before it leaves the kitchen. We are hoping it was an aberration. On the positive side, we sat at the bar and the bartender, Brian, was excellent. I usually tip good and I understand that working at a restaurant can be a hard job....however ever since I started eating at this place I've ordered on Uber eats. Maybe they aren't aware that they are on Uber eats but I'm sorry it's 2024. Get with it. You wanna make money, then get online and be aware of your presence there. Anyways the problem with this place is that every single time we have ordered since moving here they've messed up my order...whether they miss an item or give me something completely different it's abysmal every time. It's also greasy and definitely not even close to the best Italian food on the market. I've had much better. The menu makes the food look nice but it's not better than Olive Garden or bucca di beppo or any other hole in the wall place. Consistent food and flavor. This Oregano's is bigger than some I've been too. They lost a star for me with their garlic bread portion. It was like a sliver of bread. A bit disappointing. The spaghetti I had was good sized, but the bread really lacked. Also we waited 25 minutes for our food, and it did not seem that busy. I came to this restaurant with a large party and they sat us on back patio. Pretty back there, strings of lights and some nice heaters on a November night. As a Chicagoan, their deep dish was spot-on, chewy crust, luscious cheese and a meaty sauce. We also had their cheese bread and a special salad, I don't remember what it was called but it was rather unusual for a pizza restaurant. Very good! I also enjoyed the Chicago mural on the back wall, you could recognize a lot of the buildings from way back when in Chicago. Their service was excellent even though they were dealing with a very loud, chatty and distracted group of customers. Do not order take-out at this location! If you dine in the restaurant is great. Service is good and food is consistently good. However, we have ordered take out a few times and we are always disappointed. Last night we ordered a salad and garlic bread. We paid extra for Italian dressing and extra ranch. Both were missing from our order as well as our marinara sauce for the bread. We live too far from the restaurant to drive back. My wife went today to ask for some dressing so she could eat her salad and was told she would have to purchase it again! We have never received a to go order that was correct. Service: 5 stars. Food: two 5 star dishes, one 1 star dish. Oregano's is one of my favorite spots. Every time I visit home, I always try to visit; lots of fun memories and happy meals associated with this restaurant chain. This time, I got to bring my parents to the Gilbert location. They loved the cozy feel. The wait staff was as fantastic as my previous experiences. We were told there would be a wait - but was seated much quicker. We ordered a calamari appetizer, which was tasty and arrived quickly. My parents had the Alfredo the Dark and the El Diablo Shrimp Pasta, both of which were as delicious as I remembered. Hi My pesto penne bake however was deeply disappointing. I ordered it with sausage, but could find none in the bake. (The waiter definitely requested it; unsure if the kitchen forgot or was just incredibly stingy in putting any in.) The pesto penne was also fairly light on pesto. The whole new was capped with a coagulated lump of cheese on top, resulting in a dry, bland pasta. This was a far cry from the times I've had it in the past. Most egregious however was the bread bowl. It literally was unbreakable with the fork, finally shattering when I tried to snap a piece off. Hardened to the point of appearing stale, it was completely inedible. My parents enjoyed their meals, and again, the service was attentive and great. I guess I'll be staying away from the baked pastas, and hope this was an anomaly in an otherwise good history of eating here. read more

I can't believe I've never reviewed Oregano's before now! I have loved it since high school (approximately 100 years ago!) when one of the first ones opened in Tucson, and I still go fairly regularly. There are a few things worth noting, and I see that some of these are responsible for the not-so-great reviews. If you know what you're signing up for, you'll be a lifelong fan. Promise. First, Oregano's is ALWAYS busy, no matter which valley location or time of day. Not a great choice if you're in a hurry. They also do not take reservations ahead of time, and even if you have a large party, everyone needs to be there in order to be seated. Finally, portions are tremendous, so you can definitely share. Now onto some of my faves. The passionfruit iced tea is ridiculous! It's unsweetened and absolute perfection. ALL the salads are delicious, but my favorites are the Pablo Picasso and Vino Bambino. During the 'Mid-Day Rush,' they offer smaller sized salads, but at dinner they feed 2-3 people easily. We like to get a side of meatballs and a salad as dinner. The pastas are great too, but I avoid carbs these days. Alfredo the Dark and Big Rig are amazing! Pizzas are delicious too, and unique. They're Chicago style, and offer both thin crust and deep dish. The thin is crazy thin, crispy and flaky, like a cracker. The carne street pizza is out of this world and very unique - try it! The deep dish is really good but takes awhile, so be prepared. Finally, worth mentioning is they actually have killer sammies and wings, too. The meatball or Italian beef sandwiches rock my world, and you must try the Italian Gold wings! Oregano's is always consistent, and extremely reasonable price-wise, especially because you get such large portions. read more

Ordered food online at 3:30, told we'd be able to pick it up at 4:30. We didn't get the order till 4:50 and it was incorrect. Called and spoke with the manager Sherrie, and she acted like we should be grateful that our order was wrong because we were given a dish that was more expensive than what we ordered. Very unprofessional and rude. Maybe if the little boys working at the hand off station weren't busy staring at customers' cleavage we'd have been given the correct order. As it stands, we now paid for food we can't eat because of different food allergies. Sherrie claims we will get a refund in a few days. We had dinner here during a visit from California. I loved everything from the decor to the food. The restaurant had a retro feel to me, which was unique and refreshing. I loved the menus, which have a vintage design. Our sever Shawna, was AMAZING. The food portions are Huge. Everything we ordered from the Appetizer to dessert was delicious. They serve the pizza on a wire rack on the table, and it was delectable! We enjoyed the entire experience. The owners have gone to a lot of work on the interior design, and it shows. On my next trip to Arizona, I plan on bringing my mother- she would have an amazing time. This restaurant is family oriented and a good choice for all ages. Of course the salad size was big. The pan crust was loaded with cheese and had a high on the end. It was great! One thing to suggest is to either increase the toppings or go easier on the cheese.
