I hadn't been to Oregano's in about 10 years, so it was fun to come back and see what's changed. The menu is still pretty similar, and prices are reasonable compared to many restaurants these days, which I really appreciate. I had been craving the antipasto salad now that I can enjoy deli meat again after pregnancy, but I was disappointed with how few cheese curds came on it, it was literally like 3 small little curds! Years ago, that salad had a much more generous portion of cheese curds, which really made it a crave-able salad for me. Another change I missed: the pasta no longer comes in bread bowls...such a bummer, since that was one of my favorite parts! They also don't serve calzones anymore, which used to be my go-to. Happy Hour wasn't a highlight either...the discounts weren't that great compared to regular prices, and the selection was pretty limited. The zucchini fries especially felt overpriced for the small portion, and they were mostly fried breading without much zucchini. In hindsight, I wish I'd saved those calories and money for one of their pazookis instead! On the brighter side, the chicken parm sandwich was tasty and the chicken piece was a good size (though there was an upcharge to swap fries for chips). The wings came in a generous portion...perfect for sharing and the veggie sandwich was also enjoyed. One thing I really appreciated was the kids' menu. It's rare these days to find kids' meals under $10, and since my kiddo usually only eats a few bites, I really appreciate a kids menu that isn't priced high. The ambiance is the same as I remember...classic Italian restaurant vibes. At 6 p.m. on a Thursday, it wasn't very busy, which made for a relaxed meal. Decided to have lunch here as I've never dined here. I ordered the original Italian stuffed sandwich and upgraded to waffle fries. The sandwich also came with coleslaw that was really good! It had been so many years since I've been here so decided to stop in during lunch hour. I like the warm and welcoming ambience and decor of this restaurant. They have a pretty good lunch menu Mon- Fri 11AM- 3PM. I ordered the build your own mini pan pizza with salami and sausage. Hubby ordered the original Italian stuffed sandwich from the regular menu- 1/2 lb of pepperoni, capicola and salami, topped with provolone and baked, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, green peppers, black olives, oil and vinegar, and dried oregano. He upgraded to waffle fries which were very good. The sandwich also came with cole slaw which was so tasty with a slightly sweet taste. My pizza was pretty tasty and very filling. I am a pasta fanatic and decided to try other places for pasta from time to time. Yes, I cook but, it's cheaper and more fun to eat at different restaurants unless my boyfriend cooks for me (wink). We won the jackpot! Got a table in 10 minutes on a Saturday night! Lucky us! I was craving Alfredo the Dark! Love this dish! Full of creamy flavored poblano pasta topped with a grilled jalapeño. Yum yum. Total comfort food. I shared it with my husband. I tried the Mango Tango lemonade that was super delicious. Topped the night off with a pizza pie. Went to oreganos for my grandmas birthday and had a great time with great food! My grandma absolutely loves oreganos and she asks to go every year ! We got the margarita pizza, the Caesar salad, some breadsticks and another pizza as well and were very full with lots of leftovers, so make sure not to order as much as us unless you want days of leftovers. The service is always great and the ambiance is very welcoming and spacious. There usually is never a wait during the day, but at night there can be a little bit of a wait. While my family was in town celebrating my sister's graduation, we were on the hunt for a last minute dinner spot! We were unable to get into a few spots without a long wait in downtown Gilbert, and Oregano's saved the day! They quickly sat our party of eight and helped us avoid in hangriness. It had been years since I had been to Oregano's and it still upholds the same type of vibe, very american-italianesque with lots of fun and unique decor. It seems like a great spot for larger groups and the menu also reflects this. Though it is an Italian joint, they also have some Southwest inspo, as we are in Arizona, it makes sense. The menu features pastas, sandwiches, pizza's and a lot more I did not make my way through. We started with a few of their fried cheese curds, which did not disappoint, though cheese curds never do! Then started right into the entrees. Their portions are massive and great for sharing, which is what most of us did. We all ordered a few salad first, though they brought them at the same time as our entrees. It would have been nice had they timed everything or gave us the option, but something I would inquire if I return. I opted for the Diablo Shrimp pasta, which was really good! Lots of flavor, creamy and again, generous portion. I shared this along with the Alfredo The Dark, which was a twist of the classic with some poblanos, and added chicken. This was also good, but not a repeat for me. Everyone at the table seemed happy with their choices and we had leftovers to take home! I do think Oregano's has a time a place and is perfect for large groups or family style sharing, It's not a personal go-to for me and I do think there are a lot of great and more authentic italian spots in the valley, but for quantity and options, it's a solid choice read more

Cute place. The ambiance was nice besides the massive amount of children running around, leaning on the booths and touching us, but the restaurant can't help bad parenting.. Service was very slow. I work in food service, It wasn't super busy in there to be as slow as it was. Server forgot to put in our appetizer which was just garlic bread with cheese, and it took quite a while to order and get our entrees. Felt like we were forgotten about. We ordered a bottle of Chianti and it came very warm so we asked for an ice bucket to get it down to cellar temp. The entrees were actually flavorful and tasted very good. Went for Mother's Day lunch today & it was pretty good. My service was amazing. The food was good. I just didn't need a whole pizza for myself ;) I must say the drinks will knock you on your butt ! Overall it's been years since I have been there & I was happy with the food in general. I was not over the moon for the spinach dip, but the dipping crust that came with it was really good. I did have cheese curds as well and they were cold, which I like them pretty hot . my husband was not impressed with the chicken Parmesan, as it had too much oregano & basil he said. Ummm, not sure the best way to write this review. They have a very enticing menu; a lot of dishes look like they have great potential, but unfortunately, the night we went, it was all pretty blah! Additionally, the service was also pretty mediocre. Friday evening dinner around 6 pm downtown Gilbert, wait for a table for 4 was just about 5-10 minutes. Initial glasses of water came fairly quickly, and then it went mostly downhill. Drink refills had to be requested several times, and even then, it was slow. All 4 of us looked at the menu thoroughly, decided what we wanted and laid our folded menu on the table, and still had to flag down our server to order. Food took quite a while to come out, and when it finally did, 2 of the dished were cold, and one of them came out wrong. The server did notice it was wrong, but by then, we were all so disappointed we just wanted to eat and leave. Oh yea, 3 came out with bread, and one didn't? All the dishes had plenty of food, it just wasn't that good. My Shrimp Caprese had half a dozen nice sized shrimp but zero flavor. It's possible, I'd give them another shot to try some of their pizza, but not on Friday evening - too many other great choices in that area. read more

This is a MUST stop when we're in the area. Just the absolute best. Great vibe, staff, service every single time. But also, the food!!! The deep dish pizza is where it's at. That buttery crust is just impossible to beat. But also the thin crust is excellent too. Tonight we got the deep dish half with meatballs and the bistro classic half with chicken. We also love the oregano's favorite salad and the Pablo salad. And you can't leave without a cookie/ice cream (or two). They are super accommodating even to do half of different kind of cookie dough. Our biggest problem here is that we never want to order anything new because we are so fixated on our favorites. Those pasta bowls look incredible though. See you next time. read more

They were able to make huge modifications to a catering order last minute for me! Absolutely delicious food, followed by true Customer Service, which is hard to find anymore. Usually have a great time here and have been coming a while. Our server, Elise, was extremely inattentive however--to the point where we didn't get water until we asked again, AFTER our food arrived. We had to continually ask for refills of water throughout our meal, then eventually, she brought out the check and just slapped a receipt on the table--no check holder, although she had one for every other table around us. Then, since it was my birthday, she brought us a pizookie as Oregano's usually does, and we had seen her bring it to the table behind us with a candle, wish them a happy birthday, and offer to take a picture of everyone at the table. She set my pizookie down with no candle, then walked away. When we looked a bit confused, she came back to say "I can get you a candle if you really want". We were confused and declined. This has been a comfort restaurant for my family for a while, but this experience was extremely off putting. read more
